I don't know if that is true or not – I suspect not – but the demographic in America that gave more to Obama in 2008 than any other was Jewish Americans. I'm not detecting a lot of outrage per se over this- it's fairly typical liberal humor we've all seen before and pretty tame compared to some other things (NPR's "How to Speak Tea-Bag" for instance). I tend to agree that this should be filed under BFD, but I also think a lot of people here are tired of "Avatar", "CitizensUnited" and Martha Coakley, and how long are we going to be able to play smack-a-troll over the James O'Keefe event?

Actually, the supposed holiness of Jerusalem dates back to Saladin, who desperately wanted to unite his contentious Muslim subjects against a common enemy, the Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem, and thus had his theologians concoct a great deal of Muslim reverence for the city.
In fact, Jerusalem pretty much disappeared from Muslim concerns after the Kingdom fell under the incompetent leadership of Guy of Lusignan. Saladin only needed it to consolidate his power. Modern day Jihadists use it in the same way.
You are correct to an extent: the rebels in the south were part of the, then, democratic party. But how do you equate Nazism to the US democratic party? FDR (northern democrat) was responsible for the Lend-Lease policy with the US saying "Neighbor, neighbor, my house is on fire, help me out, lend me your garden hose." and not negotiating the price of that hose. The reason the Allies won WWII was because of what FDR did. I believe that Truman (democrat) also championed the integration of the military.

All I am saying is that Johnson, a Texas democrat, did push forward the Civil Rights Act of 1964, understanding the consequences that this choice would have on some people in the south on their reflections of the democratic party.

It's a throwaway joke in a 2 minute promo for a skit show. But it does have a context it the skit it was pulled from.
Promo makers like titillation… It worked.
In what context could this be acceptable? By this reasoning, making jokes about the Holocaust, or flashing the n-word on the screen, could be "titillating." But in no way would we find this to be appropriate or acceptable.
So too with this. It may have been part of a larger skit, but that doesn't mean condemning it reflects poorly on the right.

There is a huge difference between Liberal Jews (the majority who voted for Obama) and Orthodox Jews. The orthodox consider G-d to be the main focus and the Reform (read: Liberal) consider their liberalism to be paramount. Israeli Jews are even different still. They deal in reality. Until an American Jew spends time in Israel (many, many Orthodox Jews spend at least a full year living there, while others may go for a few weeks on holiday – big difference), he can not possibly understand the reality that Israeli Jews live in.

The Bush jab in "The Blind Side" was a minor point in a movie that seems to have been embraced by the right (I haven't seen it yet). Yet if you go back to that thread – there's countless comments of "I'll never see this movie…"
Have a sense of humor about it… that's all. Conservatives are too easily offended and constantly pick up the toys and go home. And I think there are ways to score points without "offending" Hollywood liberal sensibilities (not that I care, we just don't want the same kneejerk reaction).
