ONE YEAR GONE: *Flashback* Steven Weber’s G.O.P. Obituary — Blame BDS?
by Big Hollywood
Anyone remember this HuffPost from Wings’ star Steven Weber back in April? You know, pre-Virginia, New Jersey and *drumroll please* Scott Brown?:
G.O.P. R.I.P.
So there it stands: a naked, pigeon-chested old man, random strands of white hair on its boney shoulders; its swollen-knuckled hands clasped over its dead genitals, looking at once forlorn and menacing, shivering with self-loathing and xenophobia, raging pathetically at its timely and appropriate defeat at the hands of Reason.
Ladies and gentlemen: The Republican Party.
With every passing day, the people who stubbornly, maddeningly cling to an obsolete ideal and who stand in the way of the cultural advancement of this country, this America, spew the base reality of their caustic ideology into the air.
The Republican Party is like a dying tyrant, mad with syphilis, ironically like that very Stalin they would accuse their enemies of associating with. How else to account for their desperation to resurrect the wraith of Joseph McCarthy; the hammy and baffling utterances from high level party officials like Boehner and McConnell; the blatant desire on their part to let the country fail out of sheer resentment; the wanton sedition of Conservative shit-stirrers ranging from the quasi Madame Defarge Michele Bachmann to the porcine, pill-popping porcine propagandist Rush Limbaugh?
It is an all out assault on reason, on progress, on truth. What is the difference between the Republican Party and, say, the Taliban? A rogue by any other name would smell as rank.
And what’s the difference between Bigfoot and an insightful Hollywood Leftist?
People claim to have seen Bigfoot.
P.S. Credit where credit is due, Steven Weber was excellent as that drug-addicted screenwriter on “The Sopranos.”

"With every passing day, the people who stubbornly, maddeningly cling to an obsolete ideal and who stand in the way of the cultural advancement of this country, this America, spew the base reality of their caustic ideology into the air."
Why didn't anyone tell me logic is obsolete?? I have been wasting SO MUCH TIME thinking and reasoning and trying to figure things out… All this time, I might as well have been watching Wings reruns.
Just like the Phoenix. You may think it's dead, but it rises up from the ashes. Maybe Steven doesn't understand that the majority of Americans consider themselves conservative. Very few actually align themselves with the radical leftist views that Steven seems to embrace.
Steven Weber's Career…R.I.P.
Weber was not the drug-addicted screenwriter on the Sopranos – that was Tim Daly…which means Weber really hasn't accomplished shit!
Words have meaning.
Like Olberman's words, recently, it would appear that people such as this Mr. Weber, have been led to believe that stringing together synonyms garnered from a theasaurus equates to intellectual depth and that empty cul de sacs of endlessly repetitive sentances all leading to obvious dead ends is the equivalent of sound reasoning.
My suggestion to Mr. Weber? Therapy because he seems to have deep seated issues with gray haired, naked old men that remain unresolved.
Well he grew those awesome muttonchops. That's an accomplishment, isn't it?
It was well-written anyway.
Gee, dig the super-cool sideburns, dude! Whoa.
Good Grief! No wonder these people can only make their living by reciting other people's words. This is what happens when really stupid people try to sound intelligent. Steven Weber is to the written word what Matt Damon is to the spoken word, embarrassing.
They live and work in an echo chamber and were never taught how to think for themselves. Pretty sad way to live.
"spew the base reality of their caustic ideology into the air."
Um. Isn't this also "caustic ideology" being spewed? More rank hypocrisy from the left.
I think Steven Weber needs to get out more. Go for a walk dude – eat some fruit – something.
That man has a future as a writer! lol!
Ugh. Was that ever a rank, ranicd little pile of kitty poop? Weber writes with all the passion, purpose, depth, and insight of your average earnestly self-absorbed high school sophomore. Did he actually use the word "porcine" twice in the same sentence?
"the people who stubbornly, maddeningly cling to an obsolete ideal and who stand in the way of the cultural advancement of this country, this America, spew the base reality of their caustic ideology into the air."
Steve's projecting.
So there is someone that can give a speech that is worse than Kieth Oberman I stand corrected.
The photo makes him look like he was getting ready for cameo on the planet of the apes, whats with the wierd sideburns?
Listen to your gray haired Daddy…punk.
OK, have to admit. I loved him on Wings. And he was surprisingly quite frightening in the Shining TV movie (Nicholson's part). Hearing this crap spew from him is disappointing, if not entirely surprising.
Mike: And wouldn't the gaunt and ill-looking Weber love to look more like the vibrant and healthy Scott Brown? Leftyism is a drug. Weber is your brain on drugs.
He' s a shoe-in for the lead role in the next bio pic of Martin Van Buren!
a naked, pigeon-chested old man, random strands of white hair on its boney shoulders; its swollen-knuckled hands clasped over its dead genitals, looking at once forlorn and menacing, shivering with self-loathing and xenophobia, raging pathetically at its timely and appropriate defeat at the hands of Reason.
Ladies and gentlemen: Steven Weber
You mean… you missed the "Logic is Obsolete" memo!? I must have too. I guess we were all supposed to suddenly stop thinking. Oopsie!
Mr. Weber, there's always free online mini-dramas…call your agent.
I suppose as well written as any rambling, nonsensical, inane, dross, churlish, juvenile, petulant, dorky piece of sh!t can be. Weber definitely dosen't display a keen sense of lucidity, or erudition, for that matter…………. Hanzo
The new Shakespeare of the Left!! …………..Hanzo
"The reports of my death was an exaggerated" – Mark Twain
He's clearly a fan of alliteration… Lot's of it.
It's unfortunate that you think so…
a naked, pigeon-chested old man = Robert Byrd
random strands of white hair on its boney shoulders = James Cameron
its swollen-knuckled hands clasped over its dead genitals= Bill Clinton
looking at once forlorn and menacing =Obama
shivering with self-loathing and xenophobia = Every self-hating white liberal in the US
raging pathetically at its timely and appropriate defeat at the hands of Reason= Obama & massachusetts election
Isn't Weber a speech writer for Obama? Stringing words together and saying absolutely nothing . . .
Actually, he's probably rather accurate. The GOP will do its best to nominate McCains, Snowes, Grahams, Collinses, and Crists to insure the continuance to Dem rule.
An absolutely briliant insight.
Wow, another liberal idiot. How……unsurprising.
That's what I thought. Who's Steven Weber?
And has anyone ever actually watched an entire episode of "wings"?
He appears as though he should get back on his AIDS medication. He's a bit gaunt, I'd say.
I watched 'Wings'. I even started buying the DVDs until I read about Stevie's rant. Sorry, buddy boy, you don't get another dime from me.
My favorite was Tony Shaloub, anyway.
Wanna see "logic is obsolete?" Check out the Howard Dean/Matthews analysis on Hardball!
.
How about a Hollywood tax?
Steve Webber is proof that the kids in school that were in constant need of attention, and who didn't know the difference between Greenland and China on the map, are the ones who end up in Hollywood with drug problems and still in need of attention.
They're all Socialist posers – take their stuff and they'll start to cry. If they have time to say stupid stuff then they are not contributing enough to the collective — they need to be punished…..
.
I haven't seen this clown since "Wings" or whatever show he was on. His misguided opinion on politics matters as much to me as a bear taking a poo in the woods. He's probably on suicide watch after last night with the rest of the air head libs in Hollywood.
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Vociferously loquacious
From sniffing too much glue
Steven Weber's 'Creative Writing ' assignment gets an 'F' for obvious reasons.
GOD bless America and it's Christian/Jewish foundation.
GOD bless every child born…and those yet to be born.
Without GOD nothing is…and/or is…possible.
Nuff said
To paraphrase Roger Ebert's Tweet: Massachusetts to Steven Weber, " ____ You!"
always look forward to hollywood millionaires talking down their noses at the riff raff and trying to dictate all manner of allowed living for the flyover set
weber is just another of the obozo set of ruling wannabees
FU weber – goes right along with …………………….. FU, OBOZO
When you live in a world (Hollowwood) where everybody else is as stupid or stupider than you are you are, it's easy to imagine one's self to be a genius.
Another actor sprews his wisdom! Ugh. These elitists lefties always think they are so much better then us "flyover americans." I wonder what he is thinking right now? What a dufus.
This idiot tries to use big words that he doesn't understand.
He was obviously on LSD and standing in front of a full length mirror when he composed that rant.
Actually it was not:
"…porcine, pill-popping porcine…" ?
Maybe that was a BH editor's error, but if not, can you say "redundancy"?
you should probably get those dvd's on e-bay…………stat.
While they're still worth a nickel.
Lookin at him…………………………you should pry get yourself checked out……………………just sayin.
I second that motion.
we'll call it the ……………..syn-tax.
I've seen more bear shitting in the woods than I've seen this guy in anything.
haha…maybe this joker can get a job washing scott brown's suv…it's gotta be better than the gig he now has which is handing out towels in the men's room of a gay l.a. supper club called "hot lunch". it's so fun watching the demented left unravel at break-neck speeds.
you can watch Wings! Crystal Bernhard(sp?) is a republican. she cancels out Weber's libtardedness.
I think he was good on Wings because he was playing himself…an irresponsible sponge who looked to his responsible brother to bail him out when he inevitably screwed up. Plus Brian Hackett had a much higher opinion of himself than was warranted (or was held of him by any other character).
Too much said. The 700 Club is on another channel.
Wait a sec. I think I totally nailed this guy's wife!
Why would anyone pay attention to anything an actor says? They usually have no knowledge or experience in the subjects they speak about. They just parrot liberal conventional wisdom or talking points.
That made me snicker! Thanks!
If all this bafoon can cling to is his work on a dumb sitcom called "Wings", who gives a rat's a*s what his moron has to say. Weber is meaningless and obsolete.
Nice monologue, Hamlet.
That is a perfect example of moronic. There was a guy who posted something like that in the past few months on Pajamas Media. It was almost an exact match and it was so amusingly overblown and self-important that the author of the original post highlighted it and added it at the end. All the commenters thought it might be satire, but now that I see that … it was definitely Steven Weber. Exactly the same inept prose. OMG, he's sock-puppeting PJ Media now!
You would think making that statement would have gotten Weber more work in Hollywood the last year…Oh well. Usually that's how fading "stars" make themselves relevant again, but bashing conservatives or most of all Bush. They know if they want to work they have to make it known they are far left.
Maybe Weber just isn't very talented.
A well-written turd is still a turd….
accomplishment comes in many forms
I don't think I'd trust him around a nice car. Put him to work picking up the family dog's poop in the back yard…
Could Big Hollywood do a day of all of these millionaire communists spouting their Mao junk? What a read that would all be….The next day pics of American patriots of bygone era..WWII film people with their patriotism out there for all of Hollywood to see how far down the rat hole they have gone…The differences would be startling….
Wow, thanks for re-posting that.
As a fellow performer I am not surprised to read that vitriolic rebuke of reasoned thought, I hear it every day.
I am only sad because I used to think Steven Weber handsome.
Now I see his hideous soul.
I'd like to see Big Hollywood report the incomes of the Maoists/Stalinists/Marxists that infest the place, show photographs of their Malibu mansions, the limos that take them here and there, the dismissive way they treat their employees, which ones offer health insurance to employees, etc., etc., etc., under the banner of —
Socialists All.
i thought Weber was dead. i knew his career had been dead since "Wings" but i thought he was dead. he's obviously brain dead. but i could have sworn he was dead. oh well, it's nice to see he's not really dead, but i really couldn't tell the difference.
I must admit the MA victory shocked me. First of all, I really thought ACORN and SEITU would "fix" the election. I suspect as John Fund wrote, Brown's surge was so unexpected and so late they didn't have time.
I assumed MA voters are so indoctrinated by "the liberal tell" (Nolte) that they'd vote for Coakley the way Cubans "vote" for Castro and Iranians "vote" for the mullahs.
When a navy blue state like MA elects a Republican to the Senate, the sheist has hit the fan for the Democrats.
There is no way a Republican can win in that state; the only answer is that the Democrat lost!
I feel sorry for Martha Coakley. From all reports, she's an adequate lawyer, an honest woman, and though she's not a hail fellow well met personality, works hard and tries. But she lost, and when a Democrat loses, s/he is savaged by the rest of the party. Kind of reminds me of "Galaxy Quest" when the crippled little creatures drags up to the water hole and all the other creatures savagely tear him to pieces! That's the Democrats with Martha Coakley.
What fascinates me is that when this happens the shredded Democrat doesn't tell the rest of the party – eff YOU and become Independent or Republican. It can only be explained by Growltiger's Rule: Democrats put PARTY first, career second and to hell with the country.
Smug, isn't he. Well, I wonder what it feels like to realize that Conservatives from the "fly over country" can just as easily take the 20 bucks they normally would have spent for an evening of entertainment on a "MINDLESS" Hollywood movie; and with a click of a button send it to a Conservative candidate. Oh, what entertainment we have now. The 20 bucks I sent to the Brown Campaign will give me endless hours of entertainment. I will refuse to go see any movie that has a Conservative Bashing actor. Yes I realize that it will probably preclude me from seeing any movies at all, but I think my hard earned cash is better spent trying to ensure a future where I still have freedom to spend my earnings where I want. A dollar spent at the theater is a dollar in the hands of those who have the power of the Main Stream Media. The Media and Hollywood keep poking "Tea-bagger" jokes. When we turn our backs on them and their means for making a buck, lets see if they are still laughing. The era of "COOL" is over. The era of "RESPONSIBILITY" is in.
SO true…
Good for you. I like your style,
I sent in $30 to Brown's campaign and consider it money very well spent. I think of it as a decent return on that investment !
: >
Seriously…nice MUTTON chops too. Haha.

Ugh. Was that ever a rank, ranicd little pile of kitty poop?"
HEY! That's an insult to kitty poop!
I thought I was reading Poe. It turned out to be Poo.
Like most leftist, Weber is obviously in love with his own turn of the phrase, but doesn't cite a single, concrete example of this so-called Republican "assault on reason." He relies on the same, monotonous accusations that prattle off the mouths of leftists like Gregorian Chant: xenophobia, McCarthyism, all the live long day.
Another Hollywood idiot who is either ignorant and blind to the govt.'s agenda or a socialist.
Now back to Dinner theater with me…….
That's because they sent it by fairies on unicorns. Labor issues over management reimbursement rates for horn polish caused some severe disruptions.
But they should have been cleared up once Peter Pan and and the SEIU finished up binding arbitration. If you still didn't receive it, send an email to Capn Crunch for a resend.
What the hell is a "pigeon-chested old man"?
Or is that indicative of why he's not known as a writer?
LOL, agree
Hey Steve,
"We won…"
Someone say Wings? I'll have a dozen, extra hot sauce, a side of blea cheese and a couple of Coronas.
Steve! What's with the Gorton Fisherman look?
He plans on auditioning to be the next Gorton Fisherman smell fishy.
"P.S. Credit where credit is due, Steven Weber was excellent as that drug-addicted screenwriter on “The Sopranos."
I suspect he's is a method actor… reading the disjointed screed he wrote, I can almost hear the frantic sucking on a crack pipe as he typed out his Republican fantasy-credo between fits of manic giggling.
uh huhh huh huhh uhh huh..
"like dude! my dad's got all these awesome thesauruses in his basement.. like I'm gonna use them to write something that's like.. smart sounding…" ~ S. Webber at the height of a pot and cheetos binge…
he can always play Golem in Peter Jackson's upcomming "the Hobbit."
I knew there was a reason I always had a crush on her.
Other than wings, his one full time gig, he hasn't done anything except show up occasionaly on other TV shows.
I think his movie career ended when Jennifer Jason Leigh killed him with a shoe.
Only this @ss could lament an assult on "reason", then compare the GOP to the Taliban later in the same sentence. Brown by 5pts…how you like them apples?
He ends one sentence with a preposition…bad grammar!
His career has been over…..he needs to get better stuff for his bong
Hey! I should get some credit for mocking Weber on the HuffPo by complimenting him for appearances made by his fellow cast members from WIngs. I really enjoyed telling him he was great in Sideways.
BobLablah (now banned from the HuffPo after over 1000 comments).
The "Children of the Corn" should have finished him off in the 80's.
Half their problem was including the unicorns in the first place. Fairies are more than capable of handling a delivery on their own. It must have been some union rule that forced the unicorns, who can't even fly, to also participate thereby mucking up the whole works.
