NBC's Friday night series “Grimm” is a fantasy show, but for reasons I cannot fathom the program's writers chose to mine that most heinous relic of Mittel-Europa: the story of the seemingly good and kind Jew who is really a demonic creature underneath for last week's...

The King Lives!
I am an Elvis man.
The King is dead, Long live the King!
Love ya E!
Happy birthday!
A true American story: very poor boy with nothing but talent rises to the giddy heights of fame and fortune. Yet, at his peak, he takes the time to serve his country in the armed forces, always credits his country with his success, and gives generously to charity and others who serve such as the military and law enforcement.
No matter how much Elvis is ridiculed for his foibles in his latter years, this was one classy man and a wonderful American. Give the King his due. His type exists no longer in show business. I really loved him and miss him very much.
He is not dead
He is living in Vegas and is disguised as an Elvis impersonator
If you’ve never seen it check out “Elvis ‘56” narrated by Levon Helm an amazing moment in Rock-n-Roll history.
reminds me of the movie "Bubba Hotep"
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELVIS!! There will never, ever be another entertainer or man like Elvis Presley. Long live the King!!
I watched a great documentary last night via Netflix Instant Streaming – it was called The Face is Familiar and it's about some of our great character actors. The people who don't get all political, the people who are simply in it for the work and the fun of it. They interviewed Jane Lynch, Michael Madsen, Danny Trejo, Luis Guzman, the great John C. McGinley, the great Stephen Tobolowski, and more. I highly recommend it, especially for folks who are tired of the usual schtick.
One actor in particular, Daniel Roebuck (he played Jay Leno in that HBO movie and also appeared in a few Lost episodes as a science teacher and he was one of Tommy Lee Jones' marshals in The Fugitive) said something interesting. He said how so many actors are vocal about their politics or their sexuality, etc. there's no mystery anymore. Nice to know some of these guys get it.

he'll always be the King to me. No one has ever come close.
*sigh* Elvis Gone too soon.
I thought the GOP Was filled with stupid people, according to the left. So how could they plan something like this? *sarcasm*

Hooray!!!
Have Gun Will Travel is finally on the Western Channel here in San Francsico.
Richard Boone is never boring: an humanitarian badass.
The opening shot is always the same. From a close up of his holster,Paladin pulls his six shooter, aims it straight at the viewer, delievers a dramatic line of dialog from later in the show and then holsters it.
Does anyone remember if this teaser was the first to cut right into a television story without transitioning from the previous show with its own titles and commercials?
I was talking with a veteran the other day that let slip while in the Army in the early 60s met Elvis at a lunch counter in a PX in Germany. He said that "his people" really protected him from the public but in this case he was a very approchable guy, and down-to-earth.
Still, I view is later fame as a bit side; trapped in a gilded cage (Graceland) – and whart "Col" Tom Parker did to him was criminal.
Well you can say what you will about Elvis, He could sing and then some, they can never that that away from him. And yea I will stay up till four in the morning to catch one of his movies on the tube. On of the things I didn't know was that the Arizona Memorial was short some money for compleation so it could be decated on the 20 th annversiiery of that awful day. Elvis ponied up about 500,000 to finish it in time. I never new this growing up, only when I made a visit. The man had class, and what he did nor didn't do, He never gotten in your face about it. God Bless.
I haven't listened to everything by Elvis, but in my opinion, the best thing he ever sang was "American Trilogy." I've only heard that all the way through once or twice but it gave me chills up and down. Now there's a guy who wasn't afraid to show his love of country.
My mom has been a devoted Elvis fan ever since she was a teenager. I grew up on Elvis movies, she'd never miss an opportunity to watch them.
Years later, she finally had her dream come true, Elvis stopped at the local arena, and she got to see him live on stage.
And that turned out to be the last performance Elvis ever gave.
I'm sure there are plenty of artists out there with as much class. You just don't hear much about them because them because they loud obnoxious ones get all the print.
Gary Sinese comes to mind, so does Tobey Keith.
Am I missing anyone else? Feel free to add names, they all deserve recognition.
That story just kicked Elvis up a few notches in my opinion.
In 1964, Elvis gave a concert to raise money to save the USS Potomac (FDR's Presidential yacht). He then gave the yacht to St. Jude Hospital.
The 1973 Aloha From Hawaii Satellite Concert (the first concert to be seen around the world by satellite) was given by Elvis to raise money for cancer. He didn't accept a dime for it.
While good, these guys are poor imitations:

There are lots of Elvis fans in my famliy. But I was only 6 when he he died. My two cousins, who lived next door, ran out to tell everyone he had died. Honestly, I didn't know who they were talking about. I thought they meant the guy who played Gomer Pyle on t.v. My husband, a big Elvis fan himself, shakes his head in disguist when I tell that story. I have since come to love his music & don't think that a lot of folks realize how wide his range was. The man could sing in just about any genre. Hearing about his charitible deeds is very eye-opening. All we ever hear about in the media is how he died. I'd much rather hear about how he lived.
That's one of my favorites, too. Can you imagine an artist today singing something like that?
Happy B-Day Elvis. Will be spinning your music all day long.
I was in Spain when he passed away, even there the news of his passing overwhelmed everything else.
Yeah! I may have mentioned this before, but I thought Bruce Campbell´s commentary track on the Bubba Ho-Tep DVD is hilarious. He stays in character as Elvis the whole time, commenting on the movie.
You know why people on the left think like this?
Because if the party in power were the GOP, they'd be thinking about it. I'm not suggesting anyone on the left would – don't get me wrong – but the thought has occurred to them. If it didn't, then they wouldn't say it.
Trust me, I can't count the number of times I've been lectured on how every foiled terrorist attack during the Bush administration was done by Bush in order to <insert any cockamamie left wing conspiracy theory here).
Elvis' motto was the letters TCB followed by a lightening bolt……………it meant
"Taking care of business in a flash"
The man has literally thousands of impersonators who try but I have never heard anyone who if you listen closely can't tell that he ain't Elvis.
Absolutely not, although many of them are proud to sing about their love of world peace (read: rule by UN and destruction of supposed American arrogance).
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley. No one else compares.
The great Elvis Presley. The media focus on his costumes, movies and his sad last couple of years must not overshadow one fact: whenever Elvis returned to his musical roots, he was incredibly good. And it´s not hard to believe that he was basically a nice guy, given the many anecdotes to that effect.
