Polanski Thanks Supporters With Online Letter

Looks as though fugitive director Roman Polanski has been receiving all kinds of support from those who believe being a “genius director” means never having to say you’re sorry. Not even for drugging and anally raping a thirteen year-old girl and then fleeing from justice:
My dear Bernard-Henri Lévy, what you have said in the Swiss press is true — I have been overwhelmed by the number of messages of support and sympathy I have received in Winterthur prison, and that I continue to receive here, in my chalet in Gstaad, where I am spending the holidays with my wife and my children.
These messages have come from my neighbors, from people all over Switzerland, and from beyond Switzerland — from across the world. I would like every one of them to know how heartening it is, when one is locked up in a cell, to hear this murmur of human voices and of solidarity in the morning mail. In the darkest moments, each of their notes has been a source of comfort and hope, and they continue to be so in my current situation.

I followed the link to TheWrap and read as much of that article as I could before becoming sick.
Is this really what Californians call justice?

They have a governor thats helped bankrupt the entire state but gets 60 minutes specials devoted to him, they have a small segment of their population in SF dictating what people are allowed to think, they have schools pushing Zinn…. I won't go into their assault on the constitution and their taxes and the unholy 3 (Boxer, Feinstein, Pelosi).
The whole country would be better off if CA just broke off and floated away……
Hopefully the local judge will disregard this cr-, refuse an in absentia proceeding and put the creep in a real jail cell for awhile. Oughta outsource the incarceration to Mexico, while he's at it.
I live in LA and people are finally getting very sick of the State and Federal government leftists. I think 2010 will see a resurgence of conservative ideas and voting. i hope it is enough to vote the Rino Governator and all of the leftie weenies out. If not, I vote to dynamite the San Andreas Fault and let everyone on the left coast float out ot sea! I will be heading out to Inyokern in the desert to watch. I hear you can buy some nice beachfront property cheap out there.
I sincerely hope you are right about folks waking up out there, but it just seems to me that CA has gotten worse when it comes to the left-wing-extremism they pump out. What cracks me up is that everything they do is a complete failure. CA is a prime example of what NOT to do on every level.
Come on everybody men have needs, and after all Roman Polanski is just a man. If there is justice they will put him in a nasty prison where men still have needs, and he’ll become the sugar plum of cell bloc C.
The PedophilePolanski as a victim sickens me and I hope this bugger is extradited to CA soon. I can't wait until he gets sentenced. The DA has already said there is not a chance in hell that Polanski will be paroled, retried or receive the same reduced sentence as last time. In fact, the DA wants to add 5 years for every year that Polanski has evaded capture and extradition. You do the math.

To Polanski's open letter I add:
…And God bless the LA District Attorney's office for relentlessly insisting this man be returned to face justice–I cannot tell you how heartened I am as I sit her,–a woman who was raped 20 years ago and who just learned that the Orange County, CA DA's office drop a slam dunk case against the rapist–complete with matching DNA because they never bothered to try to find me and let me know all this info, as the dumb Police Dept had my name wrong in their data base but I am sure could have found me through my mother.

Polanski didn't just commit statuatory rape on a young girl, he also committed forcible rape on the same victim. That the victim "forgave" him is inconsequential. The State of California–the PEOPLE–have a stake in this also and are less easily bullied than the victim was. Those who stand up for this pedophile merely want to star in his next movie and are terrified that they won't have the chance to do that if this pathetic man goes to prison where, alas, no movies are made–at least not by the inmates.
