What has Obama done that was any different than Bush besides heath care nationalization? If I were a liberal, I would be fairly upset with his expansion of the war in Afganistan. 4. Obama purposefully lies almost every time he speaks. Bush was honest, unless you accept the ridiculous leftist talking point that he lied us into war. The list of Democrats who said the exact same things as Bush regarding the threat of Saddam Hussein's possesion of nuclear weapons includes every major figure in the Democratic Party.

Jimmy Carter went down their to oversee the election for the UN and gave him a clean bill of health. A year later when Carter was pressed as to the undeniable fraud the election was he stated that it was better to lie than to tell the truth to avoid violence (and subsequently freedom for the Venezuelan people). This tool has a two hour show every Sunday called Alo Presidente where he once stated as repoarted by the El Nuevo Herald that the opposition refused to run someone against him in the last election to make him look like a dictator and if they did not find someone to run against him he would suspend the election to the year 2040 to spite them.

These are some of the things that would have been in play.

Hollywood has had a crush on Marxism since the thirties, perhaps earlier. (Read "Red Star Over Hollywood"). While there are many bright people in Hollywood, there also are some pretty (pun intended) stupid ones, too — mainly those who earn their living(s) spouting lines written by someone else. To make themselves feel intellectually important, they "go political" and with Hollywood being so red, the only way not to be punished for going political is to be Left.
Some of the more vocal Leftists in Hollywood have a mad on at America for different reasons (didn't Sean Penn's dad get fingered in the McCarthy mess or do I misremember?) What amazes me is that they have no clue it was the STUDIOS (on whom they depend so they can't get but so mad) who canned the Leftist writers, not the government. McCarthy merely outed them.

Obama is the logical extension of what we had under Bush. Bush wasn't conservative in any way, and I don't know why Republicans waste all their time and energy trying to re-cast him into something he wasn't.
The bail-outs began under Bush. Bernanke started out as one of Bush's economic advisors. Paulson used to head up Goldman-Sachs, and now most of the Treasury Department is run by former Goldman people. Bush pressed for all the crap that lead to the housing bubble and then said he had to ignore free market principles in order to "save" the free market. He also pressured congress to pass prescription drug coverage, something he knew we couldn't afford. On top of all that, he got our country knee-deep in nation-building all the way on the other side of the world, and he built up a domestic "security" apparatus that is the wet dream of every third-world socialist dictator.
So yeah, Mr. Glover might want someone more socialist, which is incredibly stupid and misguided, but he's pretty much on target in equating Bush and Obama. If people were able to put up with what Bush gave us for eight years, they would obviously elect someone like Obama. And if the current idiot-in-chief somehow manages to win reelection in 2012, America will probably be dumb enough to go completely Chavez in 2016.
We've been on a slow, leftward slide to hell for a while now, and a lot of it can be attributed to Republicans not having the balls to stand up to their leadership because winning an election is more important than standing on principle.

As a conservative, I have to say "Not as many as Danny Glover would like, thank God!" I want change – Obama change or any other kind – to be a slow, carefully debated process. You know – checks and balances and all that. No matter how badly you want a law, no matter how "obvious" the need for it, you can't bypass the process. To paraphrase a character in one of my favorite novels, if you'll bypass the process for a good reason, you'll bypass it for a bad reason.
I'm sure Danny was talking about the "other" process, though – the one whereby powerful business and political interests quickly stifle any President's attempt to reform the System. I guess that's why he's been sucking up to Hugo Chavez. The Venezuelan system is so much purer than ours is.

Danny Glover is 100% correct in his comments… Every financial policy that Obama has put into place since he took office is the exact same thing I could envision Pres. Bush doing if he was still in office. The bailouts, the stimulus tricks and scheme like Cash for Clunkers and First time Homebuyer credits, increasing spending to pay for two wars while increasing troop strength abroad… The only difference economically is maybe Bush would have given the banks and other financial institutions a free pass on paying income taxes for a couple years. Obama's been a horrible President specifically because he's Bush part-deux.
And I never saw a difference in all 4 "Lethal Weapon" movies.
I don't see a difference between the Castro Brothers, Chavez, Che Guevara and Joseph Stalin.
They are or were all murdering communists.
