Name this movie: An ace CIA operative, condemned as a rogue and now hunted by the Company, bashes and crashes his way through colorful foreign settings, pursued by heavily armed hit men, while back at Langley headquarters an inscrutable deputy director and one of his top lieutenants are arousing the...

I plan on purchasing a new phone in another month or two. As much as I'd love to get an iPhone, I really don't want to switch to AT&T.
As for my current phone, I'm sure many people on this site are aware of the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. I don't donate to charity as much as I'd like but I've already donated one or two phones to this organization. (I had ordered some books from Amazon.com and there was a post-paid CPfS mailer in the Amazon package.)

God bless Ronald Reagan. Thanks are in order to this great man for the confidence he had in Americans, and that confidence was reciprocated by 25 years of unprecedented affluence. He was fearless in his principles and understood tyranny and would never apologize for the power and wealth of America., realizing the hard work and ingenuity that made us so. He truly got the idea of standing by any friend and opposing any foe.
I do not usually post links here that I am not comfortable with and trust. However this one intrigues me and I was wondering if anyone else has seen anything about this. I do not and can not vouch for the information in this link.

Reagan was a remarkable man, with the courage of his convictions, unabashed love of America, and the firm belief in freedom for all mankind. Now we have “Barry the Bolshevik the Bumbling Butt Kisser from the Southside of Chicago by way of Kenya, and his faithful sidekick, Joe Blithering BBBB…Biden” …just wow!
"Where have you gone, Ronald Reagan
Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you…"
You talkin' Bout B+ Beer-Bust Barry?
It really isn't fair to compare Reagan with any "heirs" of the executive office. He was a believer with inights and insticts of what was best for America. We have followed with technocracts, blue bloods, and intellectual frauds. The so called "progressives" attempt to define the main stream. When Reagan spoke, it was from the heart….God I miss him.
The world needs more Ronald Reagans. Instead we appear to have a glut of Chavezes…
To paraphrase Dickens (30 years later):
"We are living in the worst of times and the worst of times."
No no no……….not that one,………………the bullshit, blackmail, bunk, baloney, bossy, bullheaded, belligerent, bewildement, buffalo, bamboozle, bowel-movement, boy wonder…………….that ONE!…………..
For some reson, when Reagan spoke, the room grew quieter, and people had a tendency to listen a little more intently. I wonder why that is?
Arnold the barbarian gives Barack Obama an 'A' for effort…and basically implores him to stay the course.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/12/21/o...
Arnold, prevented from running for the presidency (so far), is looking for a job.
Republicans should take note of folks like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Arlen Specter as they consider just how important is is to back genuinely-conservative candidates. We already have to many of the other kind.

Treasonous Rat Bastards…..
Did anyone watch the news junkets yesterday morning? I got an earful of smug defense from Nelson and Landrieu about why they voted for the bill and how they're so superior to Republicans and so on. I don't mind them trying to defend their vote (assuming they can, which I doubt), but to have collaborated with the GOP for so long in an effort to slow the bill down or at least make it more moderate, and then to turn around once they're on board and start bashing the other side for standing in the way of progress and prosperity and all–somehow, I found that more infuriating than even Reid's slavery comments. Is it 2010 yet?

AMNESTY as you so loudly shout, was pushed through by a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS. Dont forget to include that in your screeching.
And yes, he did save the economy. Thats why the 90s were so successful. Learn a bit more about politics and economics before you start yelling like some dried up hippie, okay?
Since you seem bent on screeching like a high school dropout at a protest: AMNESTY as you so loudly shout, was pushed through by a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS. Dont forget to include that in your screeching.
first i am against the party system. REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ARE THE SAME… two HE SIGNED IT!! HE SUPPORTED IT..HE KNEW what would happen..
And yes, he did save the economy. Thats why the 90s were so successful. Learn a bit more about politics and economics before you start yelling like some dried up hippie, okay?
That’s our boy! Woops! I said boy, does that make me racist?
John McCain seems to be flustered. It's bad enough the ObamaShow is steamrolling right over us but McCain seems more upset over the 'degradation of Senate traditions'.
McCain is worlds better than Arnold though. We will always have a range of Republicans in office, reflecting moderate to rooted conservatism.
But McCain enabled a more Leftist Obama by splitting hairs with him on how fast we should march to the Left during the 08 campaign. just in my opinion
The 90's were successful?? I need to hear this.. What happened to the buying power of the working during this time.. IT went down in fact it has decreased rapidly since 1978
he signed it ..he supported it.. there is no difference between a democrat and a republican.
since 1978 the buying power of the worker has decreased..
Thanks folks. I plan on moving to New York in a few months and while I won't be living in Manhattan, I've heard from many sources that AT&T's coverage in that area leaves much to be desired. Too many iPhone users hogging the bandwidth.
I'm happy with Sprint and I've been looking into the HTC Hero running the Android platform.
I wasn't complaining about my cell service; I simply wanted to spread the word about the Cell Phone for Soldiers program.
this is some speculative stuff that exists out there, Mr Dan…
we ahve been following the darker conspiracy stuff on the Internationalists/banksters for a while because there is SOME nuggets of truth to be gleaned. There is no doubt China is owed a tremendous sum, and we are playing with their 'largesse' by manipulating our currency, largely just printing fiat currency that devalues China's T-bonds that they hold. There is also speculation that attempts to pay China back with gold plated tungsten bars has been discovered.
True? No one really knows at this point. But there is definitely some ugly backstories here…
we need to get past Ronald Reagan, God bless his soul…
And get us some leaders who STAND for the people and not more of the same Republicrats and Demmicans.
Elect NO ONE from 'elite' east coast establishments, including both Ivy league universities AND international organizations. NO trilateralists, CFR's, Bilderbergers, Goldman Sachs or any other financial institution.
No lawyers, either. (All due respect to our conservative lawyer friends). Elect ONLY regular folk just entering politics who swear to return to private life once they have accomplished returning the government TO THE PEOPLE. Contribute nothing to the parties- just to the candidate who passes the test.
Operation Take Back America has started…
This ( and other Reagan videos) is the template to use when evaluating those who present themselves as Presdiential candidates, today. I am fortunate to remember his Presidency as an adult. I felt a lot more secure when he held office. LIsten to, and watch, and read about the candidates…then watch and listen to President Reagan and read what he's written. Do today's candidates measure up? Do they capture your confidence? This is one way to help you make a decision.
Uuhhhhh….could it be that President Reagan actually had an original thought and something IMPORTANT to say?!
Agreed, I was hoping for more input on this and thank you for replying. Two years ago, if what is happening today in our country where written about, I would have dismised it. Not so much any longer. I needed another voice to sorta check me.
When they wear the uniform of the R&D then they put party before country.. They put themselves before country. Supporting a party has delivered us to this moment of truth, a moment where our American dream has died and has been replaced with the power of government.. We didn’t get here over night this has been road long traveled and the bridge out sign was ignored.
The 90s were successful, but only in a short-term sense. Much of that prosperity was built on the dot-com bubble instead of any real growth, so I wouldn't hold that out as an example of his policies, it really had little to do with him or any other president.
Barbarian, your cynicism about Reagan makes me wonder if you canl ever be satisfied. I know he wasn't nor were his policies perfect and your statement about Repubs and Dems is sadly very true but I would welcome his economic policies NOW.
it is time to embrace the old Chris Carter line…
'The Truth is Out There'. Believe not what you are told bu anyone in the electronic media- including venerable FOX news. No one reported on the Baxter/swine flu vaccine 'accident' that could have killed
hundreds of thousands of people. Indeed, they are pushing, still, the vaccines as 'safe', while they most certainly are not.
That's just one of the stories not being accurately reported. One suspects the financial misdeeds even more troubling still. Check out Catherine Austin Fitts if you want a bleak assessment of financial issues…
I fighting the rock star image which gave us BO.. Soon someone will claim the RR dream and become a rock star, but will the people question what really happened and fix the mistakes or do we continue to travel a road with the bridge out.. .. low taxes and destruction of the progressive tax code, little government must be our salvation, but this Rock star image of RR and BO are not reality.. RR did not shrink government it grew..workers were hurt..buying power shrank..
So the Democrat Party is heavily funded by the abortion industry. In a few days, taxpayers will be required by law to fund the abortion industry. Wouldn't it be easier to cut out the middle man and just require taxpayers to fund the DNC? Then the Democrats can pay for their own damn abortions, and I won't feel like I'm being anally raped by Nancy Keenan every April 15th.
Simple, all three branches of government and both parties have colluded to completely ignore the Constitution which outlaws all of this.
Let's hope Bush's two good ideas (Allito and Roberts) can work with Scallia and Thomas to pull this nation back from the brink.
Normally I'm not a fan of law suits, but let the lawering begin.
And the abortion industry is heavily funded by the democratic party. I think they get around $2 billion a year.
President Obama called the Senate's “historic vote” over the weekend "a big victory for the American people."
Hmmm…
Pretty powerful language considering Obama wouldn't use the word "victory" in his West Point speech on war…
That just about says it all !!!!!!!@@##%
I think it's time, as TR would say, "for some gunboat diplomacy" only the cannons should be pointed at Washington DC.
While the good people of this Republic slept our legislators confined us and our children in a prison of servitude to the government…..not a government of the people, by the people and for the people, but a people to serve the government with their labor, for the growth and prosperity of the government. As far as I'm concerned our legislators have committed treason against the constitution and us. All those who have participated in this travesty should be held accountable to the people of this grand republic in a public forum, tried, sentenced and removed from office as an example to the next group as to what can happen when you act against the Constitution and the People
You make excellent and truthful points albeit some generalizations that might be overstatements. Reagan was outside the mainstream of the then Republican party, The Republican elite marginalized and in many ways despised Reagan. He did not have all branches of government like the present POTUS and it is true that he compromised on issues. However, it was only after Reagan that I heard the term political outsider being tossed around so frequently.
I would disagree, the dot.com bubble didn't really take off till the later half of the 1990's. I know, I was there. It was definitely building, no doubt about that, but it nuclear in the last 2 – 3 years.
People on my networking team at IBM were jumping ship for 100 – 200% salary increase. Stock options were quickly becoming an under ground currency. Out in California new millionaires were using them as payments to real estate agents. One day my friend Earl was just another firewall jockey, the next he's got a corner office on the Jersey side of the Hudson with a clear view of down town Manhattan, with the title "Sr. Vice President of Network Security."
The main reason it popped, again in my opinion, was 9/11. It caused people to stop and ponder, is it really necessary or a good idea to buy dog food over the internet? Pure speculation drove it, and that always stops sooner or later.
The democrats had the House for over 40 years. The last President before Bush that had both houses of Congress was Ike.
I wouldn't say Reagan was an outsider in the GOP, though he did make some enemies, but they generally kept quiet enjoying the poll boosts.
Reagan's true specialty was going around the MSM, and speaking directly to the American voters. It infuriated the press. No matter what they threw at him, it never stuck. They became more or less obsolete for 6 years.
And I'm pretty sure that's why they're trying to take out Palin now, before she gets another chance to do that to the MSM.
Yes. Modern liberals have changed the definition of racism to any one who disagrees with them.
You didn't actually believe Arnold was a true conservative republican, now did you?
He probably just signed up originally to tweak the in-laws. After all, what are they going to do? Fat Teddy pick a fight with him?
That's assuming voting even matters anymore. Franken stole his Senate seat in broad daylight.
The left isn't even really trying to hide it any more.
Dr. Thomas Sowell's Christmas book list

Good point, Obviously Reagan was thought of differently by the time he was elected, but he was considered a Goldwater Republican before the election. He did confound the MSM and the Barbarian is right that he cut a deal with Kennedy on immigration but he did not have both houses and to think that he didn't have to compromise would be disingenuous. His cult of personality isn't the reason he so well thought of but rather his ability to govern, at least for me.
Reagan was elected when I was a senior in high school, which means I was dead set against him. After all, everyone I knew was absolutely sure he wanted big corp. to get rich by robbing from the poor.
Throughout his 8 years, I really wasn't ever that fond of him. Over the years, as I've looked back and seen the results of his policies, I could not deny he was right about so many things.
I grew up in the age of air raid drills, expecting my coat to protect me from a nuke – yeah, like any of us actually bought that. And then to watch the Berlin Wall come down with out a shot. It was amazing.
I don't care whether or not a person agreed with anything Reagan did, but there is no denying his results. And I have respect for those results.
Of course that attitude gotten me thrown out of the left. But I'd rather know the truth.
yes I do… for I also post on lib sites too .. I have tried to learn what will defeat BO..
I do this to prove he can be attacked successfully. go to lib site and ask.
reduce taxes they say yes.
reduce government they say yes
say republican, RR they say screw you.
You can wrap yourself in republicans and RR all you want, but BO isn't playing that game. he buying his votes and warming up for amnesty to win re-election.
I'm a little more ticked off than usual at Sen. Schumer.
I feel that, instead of squealing with delight and trampling other Senators in his rush to vote "yes" on health care reform, he should've held out a little like Nelson and Landreiu and Lieberman. The state of NY is just about bankrupt, and if Schumer had played hard-to-get, we could've gotten a bunch of free stuff too!
Thanks for nothing, Schumer, you butt-kissing choad!
Obama gets an 'A' from Schwarzenegger…
“When it comes to effort, [Obama] should get a straight A,” Schwarzenegger told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King in an interview that aired Sunday on State of the Union.
“He’s out there with tremendous energy and he’s selling his ideas. And he has great enthusiasm there. He’s a great speaker, a great communicator.”
**********
An A from Schwarzenegger..is an F from the American people!
tremendous energy….selling ideas…..great enthusiasm…………..DUMB as a POST!
Prue bred Socialist!
their time's a comin', friend…
the dissatisfaction is real. The feeble attempts at political cover will help them not. Now the real test is can we find non-clones to replace them.
That is where the body politic must reside for now…
A society that does not celebrate, respect or tolerate all peoples is an unjust society. That is why so many people protested against the movie Avatar on December 18, 2009.
Avatar was conceived during the years of the Bush Regime, a time of despair, hate and intolerance. The Bush Regime started two wars, banned gay marriage, and declared war on science by banning stem cell research and denying the reality of Climate Change. People were arrested and detained without any legal reason and were tortured.
But we live in a new era. President Obama is guiding us to progress but a lot still needs to be done. Avatar insulted that progress by presenting us with a vision of the future that ignored Evolution and had no gay or transgender characters here on Earth or on Pandora. People don’t want that vision. We don’t want that future.
I had to wait years to get my breast implants because the American health care system refused to cover the cost of the procedure. That is an injustice. I was denied my right to health care and my right to be who I am. I was told I was "male".
President Obama is working to make sure that will not happen to people in the future. Americans are very close to having access to health care regardless of their gender-status, racial-status or their sexual-status. We cannot allow people of hate, the religious, the Republicans or Conservatives or any non-progressive person to deny us our rights.
This is not about stopping a movie. This is about protecting and defending human rights. Tolerance and diversity and health care are basic human rights.

Please tell us how men's lives were wasted. Thank you.
The level of corruption in the democratic party is even astounding the democratic voter, but are they listening? We are not only getting a piece of coal for a Christmas present, but they are shoving it down our throats. Thanks Ben, the other 49 (or is it 57) states really appreciate you burdening us with your medicare pork and bribes. Call to action everyone. Perhaps the Democrats will change their mascot to a bear and demand the political color party be red. In 2010 let's vote everyone in congress (house and senate) who voted for this pathetic HC bill O. U. T. God Bless America and Merry Christmas everyone. -digitalDave
I'm still convinced this is all part of a larger scam. They know what's coming, and they'd never trade their cushy jobs in Congress unless it was for a very good reason.
Democrats voted out of office can be given cushy lobbyists, ambassadorships, and staff jobs with Soros or remaining members of Congress.
But how do they get the majority back? That has to be part of the equation.
Write Congress and tell them to take their Christmas "gift" back, it's a gift that won't work.
Congress couldn't possibly care less what We The People are up to.
If they were watching the polls, they'd be crapping bricks. But they're not.
Something else is up. Bank on it.
That is a rehtorical question isn't it ?
Let's not just vote out the bums, but let's pressure our states to exercise their 10th amendment rights and opt out of this monstrosity – and repeal the 17th amendment besides. It'll be a tough climb; states are too addicted to federal largesse.
such a sweet story… How about the Americans who lost their jobs who OBEY the laws due to this sweet and loving amnesty.. Their homes and jobs mean nothing? Some who lost everything were veterans but who cares about the rule of law? A storm on a tea cup? people vote for one that helps them this is proven by union politics. Bring into the fold? This is America and not a party.
what was accomplished?
RR.. Was such a good man and spoke so such beautiful words.. Now for reality… He rewarded those who broke our laws and punished AMERICANS for obeying the law.. AMNESTY punished hard working AMERICANS for the benefit of business and law breakers.. How many homes, jobs, and LIVES were lost, due to this AMNESTY.. The border was not controlled and here we are again ready to reward those who broke our laws.. BO and cronies have proved one thing It doesn’t matter how the government tries to destroy the economy it wants to grow so I must question did R save the economy?
Just posting something is not a rebuttal of the facts. The moment we went into Lebanon this country knew we would suffer great pain, some would suffer far greater than others.. Pulling out without using the full force of America encouraged our enemy to do more attacks. Iran, Lebanon, Somalia, and hundreds of little attacks all led to the attack 9-11, because we did not put the fear of God into these people. The commander and Chief must made of the same steel as the men he leads and he can not put them into harms way unless he is prepared to kill the enemy in the hundreds of thousands by any means necessary. RR was not committed to Lebanon and we should never been there.
[...] President Reagan’s address to the American people during his first Christmas in the White House: [...]
ed .. inside info is always welcomed..we know the press can't be trusted..but I do know for a fact right after amnesty the construction industry started dumping Americans for our future voters.. 1987 -1992 we tough years.
results? then lets take into account all the results..Iran contra, Amnesty, lebanon.. North took the hit for him.. that is wrong,,Amnesty no defending.. lebanon no defending..unemployment remained high through out.. he was just a man who was president and said pretty things.. he did not shrink the government..
I think there should be an investigation and a hearing to repeal what just went on in the Senate. How is it legal to give perks and bribes to pay off Senators with the taxpayers money? They have prostituted themselves.Over 60% of Americans dissaprove. This Mafiosa stuff. This has to be stopped. The Senate can not run ruff shod over the citizens. These folks WILL PAY!
t-rav..you are correct..they point to a bunch indicators, but the value of the money in your pocket is what counts. taxes grew..regulations grew.. all levels of government grew..which steals money from private sector but also your freedom.
I find interesting my motives are questioned when I point the facts.. RR is not loved in all corners of our country for a reason, working people were hurt badly.. People were punished for obeying the law.. It can be argued BO election was direct result of the sacrifice of the working people. Our tax code and regulations have been increasing and thus our freedom decreasing.. When you praise RR you push people away and we need everyone we can get..
Shall I bring up Lebanon? Men’s lives were wasted for what?
While the good people of this Republic slept our legislators confined us and our children in a prison of servitude to the government…..not a government of the people, by the people and for the people, but a people to serve the government with their labor, for the growth and prosperity of the government. The worship of BO is being countered by the worship of RR and this will not end well for any of us.. Too many people remember the pain of RR.. You can say he did this right, but return to RR will bring us defeat.. BO is using union political tactics to get re-elected. This is a very effective method.. BUY who you must.. lie to those who will accept your lies, and bring in new members to get re-elected. The up coming Amnesty which is new members and thus new voters and thus BO will get re-elected. Republicans by the way of RR can’t fight Amnesty for it is his sin.
Exactly. If they really thought that Sarah Palin was the unelectable dunce they are trying to make her out to be, she'd be heralded like John McCain was as the obvious choice and Republican front runner. She scares all the right people.
Could you imagine if Obama used language like this concerning Iran and its people's struggle? The Arab world would love us and our image would be soaring. But what do we do, tuck our tail between our legs and turn our back on the Iranian people, and for that matter, with new missiles coming out of that country every other week, we turn our back on the people Ronnie was talking about, our Polish friends.
Where have all the leaders gone?
So you can bash RR on your fiber optic internet connection while Obama and his 60 minions help demolish our economy and make us all subjects of the federal government.
then why is she not leading the charge.. where are the pitch forks and torches.. why is this still a name calling game..as the country is being sentenced to debtors prison. I see no passion from anyone other than the people and we are being ignored .
Anyone remember Ellis Island in the early 1900s? My friends, that was due to Amnesty. Without Amnesty, neither side of my family would be in the US right now and we have been very good Americans and haven't voted strictly Democrat.
RR recognized that. I would like to also point out that after Reagan a Republican was elected and then 8 years later another Republican was elected. The Amnesty issue is a storm in a tea cup. It brings people into the fold and once they get here and have to live by our laws and pay our taxes. That does not guarantee Democrat majorities…
Food for thought.
Except for one odd moment when my iPhone couldn't find me in the VIllage, I had no problems this spring in NYC with my iPhone.
And I've sent in a couple of phones as well, but good Lord, they were old…hope they helped somebody.
If he was such a noble man why did allow north to take the fall?
"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes," President Ronald Reagan quipped before a radio address to the nation in 1984 at the height of the Cold War. Unbeknownst to him, his comments were broadcast live.
I always loved Reagans Reality/Sound Check………………..
Awnold just described a community organizer to a "T".
The man was doing his best.
The ironic thing is that Reagan didn't want to stir up anti-American sentiment in the Mid East so he took a "wait and see" attitude in Lebanon. Here's an interesting link that goes over Reagan's motivation during the period.

Yes, but can we walk on water, like the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.? Peace be upon him.
I can't speak for the construction industry, I had my head shoved in computers during those years. And I really didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the amnesty.
About the best I can remember is the bill came with a promise to clamp down on the boarders that never materialized. So I avoided that topic. I like to have an idea about the issues I comment on.
I had a rottie mix back in those days, and I was buying 40 lb. bags of dog food once a month (maybe even more, hard to remember) and some one thought I'd be willing to pay shipping and handling for that rather than just go to the dog food aisle at the store I was already at buying food?
In those days all you need to become an internet millionaire was the acronym "IPO," a web page, and toss around terms like "e-commerce" or "web presence" and investors were throwing money at you. One friend of mine landed a job at a company where they kept the fridge in the break room stocked with free beer.
Anything went.
For starters, it's a fallacy of American political media reporting that any single politician is responsible for anything. The federal government was specifically designed to prevent anyone elected politician from accomplishing anything on their own.
There are very rare occasions, like the current health care monstrosity, where a single politician (i.e. Liberman, Nelson) can hold all the cards, but for the most part, doesn't happen.
That means when you read about 'Reagan's tax cuts' or 'Obama's health care bill' its nothing more than lazy reporting by idiots who either don't understand government, or have contempt for their audience, thinking they have no idea what's going on.
No president can cut taxes, no president can shrink government, everything has to be agreed to by a majority of people in Washington – barring special parliamentary tricks. Reagan didn't cut taxes by himself, he needed Congress, with the House firmly in democrat control. And Tip O'Neil didn't grow government without Reagan's signature.
That being said, I firmly believe Reagan had a huge hand in ending the Cold War, along with Thatcher, Scoop Jackson, Pope John Paul II, the Peaceniks, and every one else.
And anyone who played a large part in ending 40 years of nuclear madness is alright in my book. Reagan was far from perfect. But he does stand out in this one situation from his predecessors and following Presidents.
Exactly.
The left is nice like that. They tell you exactly who they're afraid of, as well as who they have no fear of.
They fear Palin something fierce.
Because Americans long ago decided political disagreements will be settled at the ballot box.
T-Rav, they weren't collaborating with the GOP, they were holding out for more graft from “Barry the Bolshevik the Bumbling Butt Kisser from the Southside of Chicago by way of Kenya"
Sorry to plagerize, StanH, but that was too good to not use again!
chopper
community organizer……..isn't that now considered a vulgarity?
Iran contra is squarely on the back of RR.. You don’t let another man take hit for your action. That is not honorable. The cold war was won by all Americans especially the men and women in uniform. You don’t send men and women in the valley of death unless you are committed.. Amnesty is his alone for he signed it and punished law abiding AMERICANS to reward law breakers.. Americans lost their jobs and homes and some even their lives. He was simply a selection between two evils, given to us by the parties and people have been paying for this crime far to long.
