NBC's Friday night series “Grimm” is a fantasy show, but for reasons I cannot fathom the program's writers chose to mine that most heinous relic of Mittel-Europa: the story of the seemingly good and kind Jew who is really a demonic creature underneath for last week's...

I fell out with Newt when he did the Greenie thing with Nancy, but he's got me firmly in hand now. I LIKE this kind of talk.
REPLACEMENT politics, not 'change' politics. Throw them all out and ask the tough questions that needs to be asked.
Happy Sunday!
Here's a song dedicated our Harry Reid who is trying to ruin Christmas by ramming the Health Care Bill down our throats– Harry, this one's for you!

In case anyone wants to sing along.
Author: Dr. Seuss
You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.
You're a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.
You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart's an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You've got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.
I wouldn't touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.
You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.
Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the seasick crockodile.
You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You're a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.
The three words that best describe you,
are, and I quote: "Stink. Stank. Stunk."
You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You're the king of sinful sots.
Your heart's a dead tomato splot
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.
Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.
You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked horse.
Mr. Grinch.
You're a three decker saurkraut and toadstool
sandwich
With arsenic sauce.
When it comes to Gingrich, my thinking is that he is nothing more than talk. Too many instances where he has 'crossed the aisle' like McCain to get along with liberals. And each time he has, my trust and confidence in him has eroded, to the point I have none in him.
He's going to have to show some action, and a substantial amount of it before he regains my favorable opinion of him.

Check Newt out here: http://newsmax.com/InsideCover/newt-gingrich-vide...
Thanks, Prof. But speechifying no longer impresses me.
To Gingrich I say 'Walk the walk and show me your words have substance and you have principles to back up your rhetoric, because your past actions–rolling over for the Clinton's, coupling with Nancy on the Green crap, etc–tell me otherwise'.
Newt is way too duplicitous these days. He sees which way the wind is blowing, so he's helping it along. Note how he supported Scozzafava in NY 23 and then got his mind right.
Throw them all out and start fresh looks good on paper. But, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to pull off!

(This video is the object of Ms. Schlussel's "Unoriginality of the Hollywood Left" article but I think she reads too much into it. I'm a geek (and an independent) and even I know this stuff has been done to death. Politics has nothing to do with it.)

Agreed. I think he is a victim of inside the beltway new-think. He is trying to figure out how to marry conservatism to issues that (in his mind) are cross-party in nature. He has decided that the ecology is one of those issues. He sees this as a way to build a coalition of voters that get a majority.
But, there is no taking away from him the control of spending and the balancing of the budget that he acheived (and the blind mindless vicitims of the socialist attribute to Bill "the most evil man in the world' Clinton). He still is the most important conservative politician since Ronnie.
It's a sad day for super-heroes…..
Well, and civil libertarians, too.
HOLY HYPOCRISY! DICK GRAYSON NOW FIGHTING FREEDOM OF SPEECH
http://naturalfake.wordpress.com/2009/12/19/holy-...
I agree totally with your sentiments, but the above referenced speech is dead-straight, and non-
ambiguously, what I believe has to be done to take back the country. I haven't heard anything even close to being this 'right'. I invite you to listen to the speech and tell me where a better message is being put forth.
I submit this: Newt has REALLY pissed off a bunch of us true conservatives with his 'McCaining' with the opposition. (NY23 was stupidity).
This speech outlines a clear strategy to bury the Leftist radicals once and for all. I think Newt has hit it out of the park. It reminds me of Newt's morning orders speeches of the '80s….and it *should* be an inaugural speech for somebody in '13.
Please listen and then let's discuss it.
I invite you to listen to this speech… How can Newt do anything BUT talk at this point. He's not elected to anything. This speech is the policy speech for his Conservative think tank.
No.
My problem with Gingrich is that, as speaker of the House and the Contract with America, he acted and did things totally contrary to what he espoused. Those actions cost conservatives dearly.
What he is saying now may be dead-on accurate for how to rectify this abominable mess the country is in, but based on what I have seen Gingrich do, IMO he is not the man to lead.
I simply do not trust him to come through when the chips are down.
To those of you who believe he can perform as he should have all along, I will say I hope my opinion of him is proven wrong, and you are right.
Newt had his time…
He did what he should have done when he was in Congress…that cannot be disputed, and it should be celebrated…
But his time is in the past…when he should have stepped up and put McCain, Snowe, Collins, and (at the time), Specter on the SPOT, where was he?
Tending to your own brand of realpolitik "conservative think tank" when shining examples such as the Heritage Foundation already exist is hubris…and I've had far too much of hubris…
Newt needs to come out in favor of solid conservatism…not himself…
Do you folks want to remain ideologically pure and wind a few battles, or compromise some, get most of what you want and win the war? Listen to what Gingrich says about the strategies that can win. He may tick some of you off, but I think he knows how to win elections.
Politics is the art of the possible. It's incremental. No one can win without the independents, and they are clustered mostly just right and left of center. They have legitimate concerns that have to be addressed. We need to recognize that.
Get elected first and then bring them around to the rationality of what free market conservatism can do for the entire country, namely get the economy back on track and protect our Republic from its enemies. Not much else matters at this point given what the current crowd in control is doing to the country.
Merry Christmas to everyone on Big Hollywood – God Bless!
** Get elected first and then bring them around to the rationality of what free market conservatism can do for the entire country, namely get the economy back on track and protect our Republic from its enemies. **
Who can you trust to do what they say they will do once they get in office, Prof?
Do you have enough confidence in Gingrich that he would do it? He's talking a good game, but he's talked good games before.
I'm not totally anti-Gingrich, but right now, based on past performance, he lacks my confidence.
As for working with liberals to compromise, why are conservatives always the one in the barrel first? How 'bout the libs start taking their turn first, as a show of good faith? I know 'good faith' from a lib is a stretch, but….
The republicans/democrats up to now have only been concerned about themselves not the country. Without truth there is no republic.. Without accountability there is no republic. Without freedom there is no United States of America.. The promise of America is dead and both parties killed it..
I agree, our culture has fallen a long way. To my observation, there is a dangerous trend in society that has been going on for some time. Although we are all equal in God given rights, our individual behavior largely determines success in life. As a society we should try to lift the black culture up. Instead, we tolerate the anti-social parasitic behavior we too often see among many blacks. This has the effect of spreading a vulgar culture to all society.
Why is this? Political correctness. Lying to blacks will not help them improve their culture and society is paying a high price now. Let's try and be honest about things for everybody's sake.
Ah yes, Rosemary Clooney. More proof that even class has a way of skipping a generation.
Have you heard Grayson talk? "Classy" is not a word he ever learned.
Rosemary was okay, but I preferred the soft, low voices of the crooners.

Perry Como – It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas – 1958
shoot for the moon, we will at least rid ourselves of some of the rascals or vermin, whatever you want to call them. It is a start.
Unless you are ready to go to Washington and do civil disobedience and get arrested for standing up for your constitution which is what they want… WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Help the republicans? That does nothing for a democratic district, because of gerrymandering a democrat will be re-elected that is why they don’t listen.. Both government parties did this to you!! Please don’t forget the for sale sign the republican have on. Register unaffiliated and take your power back.. Register every one to unaffiliated and take your country back..
Wasn't the past election with McCain enough evidence that compromising core values to sway the independents and moderates is like kissing your cousin, nothing good will come of it. I voted for McCain knowing he was a terrible choice but way better than the opponent as did supposedly the independents and moderates. The Black Independents and Moderates, Colin Powell, Ind, for instance and he backed McCain, voted for Obama. You can't even trust moderate GOP ers, J C Watts another example. Yet the Prof and others want to toss true conservatives out, which you are doing with your suggestion, to trust the independents and moderates again to do the right thing. Like the gang of seven and the gang of 13 raised
havic, all independents and Rino Republicans, killed conservative legislation trying to do what was right by conservative ideals. No thanks never again for this conservative.
I agree, I never particularly cared for her until her later years and then not so much, I thought she was a "second rung" singer if you will. Her popularity, I guess, was huge as she had her share of gold records.
She didn't make me grit my teeth to hear here which was a good thing tho her blood line sired another Clooney that does make me grit my teeth, which is not a good thing.
amctv.com has an online graphic novel of The Prisoner and the complete run of the original television show for fans of that.
Still more acurate than anything on MSNBC.
OK – Remain ideologically pure and watch a third party candidate, a la H. Ross Perot, siphon off votes from a Republican nominee to get the Democrat candidate – our current Dear Leader – reelected. Eight years of this rubbish could take generations to repair.
Have you heard the deafening silence from our usual critics? They love this guy. They couldn't have it any better if they had managed to slip in a Manchurian candidate.
Our true strength is our economy and he's doing virtually everything possible to weaken it. Huge deficit spending, locked in social programs that will be paid by cutting our national security budget, government control over private decisions, "directed lending" by banks (telling the banks to whom and when to lend – that's pure tyranny over the private sector and is what trashed the communist economies).
I can't argue against the destructiveness this President is authoring, nor can I not cringe
at what the results would be of 4 more years of his ineptness. In my mind the current and past leadership of the GOP have put us where we are. East coast elite (read moderates and Independents) have led this party for 50 years thru the Bush Sr and Jr years, with a brief respite in 94. Would you rather be shot thru the heart or die of thirst in the desert. Those are the choices, in my mind, if we go the moderate route again. The Tea party, if it becomes strong and should it not take over the GOP but become a third party I agree, it is not the best solution and may cost us the election but in my mind we lose if we don't run, what the left will consider a far right candidate. Why do you think, we can win with an Independent or moderate candidate and that will hold the party together.I don't think the votes will be there in either case. Compromise is not the solution to our current problems.
'People' attending Stalin speeches were AFRAID to be the first one to STOP clapping.
They had to install a bell that woukd signal the end of the applause.
Obama covets that kind of power, absolutely covets it. Right now it's the media that refuses to stop applauding!
Wouldn't trust Newtie as far as I can throw his fatass.
If he was wrong on New York 23 he isn't capable of informing himself.
One McCain is MORE than enough, way more.
Gayson is 'off the hook' certifiable. Florida, what the hell?
Newtie SQUANDERED one majority House, lets leave him OUT of a second, please.
Let him stratagize, be considered, and if neccessary – ignored.

The only thing Newt has done worth agreeing with, was standing up for a conservative in NY. Other than that, he's no better then the rinos mccain and graham.
Listen to Rush Limbaughs CPAC speech, then find a politician that stands for the same principles, the same view of America. Help the Tea Party and others find them and support them. They may be out there, but newt ain't one of them. Give up on the current bi-partisan millionaires row of corruption and anti-constitutional actions.

BRILLIANT!!!
We ran a moderate last time in McCain and look what we've gotten for it. The turning point was when McCain stopped his campaign marched right back to WaDC and voted FOR that raggedy TARP fund JUST LIKE OBAMA DID! What choice did the American people have? I too voted for McCain and held my nose as well. You said in you first installment something about running on a moderate campaign then once in power do things that you consider right? Did I get that right? How is that any different than the deception perpetrated on the American people with O's campaign? He ran as a centrist and Bingo–not so much a centrist. How is that ethical? How does that inspire trust from the American public?
I believe the professor said that and I believe that would be disastrous.
We must go conservative this trip and lose if we must with our values for all to see.
Not this independent moderate stuff we just had with McCain. How about the libs try and get along with us for a change.
Victory or Death!
That makes at least two of us I think there is a bunch out there that feel the same way.
As you say Newt and McCain or Steele is not one of them.
wouldn't that be a miracle!!
I was just sitting here thinking about the O, Reid, Pelosi Triad of Evil and this came to mind. From Ghostbuster the redux:
Gozer the Gozarian as played by O
The Keymaster as played by Reid
The Gatekeeper as played by Pelosi.
I also thought of the Grinch as well.
to be fair, she's George's aunt, not his mom. so maybe more of a sidestep than a skip…
