Come to think of it, you could do a remake of "It's a Wonderful Life" but call it "It's a Wonderful Country". Some snarky European makes snide comments about the U.S. and an angel shows him what the world would be like without the United States providing military, monetary, and charitable support to the rest of the world.

That is a great idea. How would the world be without the USA's positive influence?

Well, for starters, everyone in Europe would be speaking German…or Russian…or maybe Arabic by now…

It's heartening to know that people are tee'd off enough that such a prediction seems very real – I guess Im the pessimist though in wondering are we going to be able to undo whatever damage is done in the run-up to 2010. I will feel vindicated if there is a "bloodbath" next November, but if this health care horror gets pushed through anyway, it will be a very hollow victory. Once a virus is in, it's in. Only two things to do after that: let the virus wear itself out of existence or…well, I dont even want to think of the alternative.

I believe America is strong enough to get rid of the virus. I guess I worry (and this is based on all my past experience of hoping it would be rid of in the past and being painfully disappointed) that America isnt strong enough for the cure.

Trying to be optimistic…

Sorry but when ANYONE says, "the debate is over", that's exactly when the debate should start. The red flags should pop up when anyone says this.

Not a bad idea, but for poetic justice it might be better to put Frank and Sunstein in the same cell. And have the two cells opposite to each other, so everyone would have to watch.

A 100 seat loss…now there's something pleasant to think about, if for no other reason than to see the collective stroke suffered by Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews and company. However, it all goes for naught unless the incoming GOPers are willing to actually be conservatives and try to undo the damage of the past few years, unlike many of their current cohorts.

All free, democratically elected governments withdraw from the UN, the Wold Bank, G20, all international organizations. They form one new one which is nothing more than a place to meet and discuss issues, no ruling authority, and the only way to gain entrance is to have a a freely, elected, democratic society.

And then cut off all contact with countries that don't meet that standard. No trade, no aid, no mettings, completely ignore them. Every last one of them.

Once their governments and people get a good solid taste of what life is like with totalitarian governments, they should start singing new tunes.

Makes me ponder the pros and cons of moving to Connecticut.

THANKS for this video…especially because it gives some attention to Mel Torme, composer of 'The Christmas Song'. Of course the intended focus,here, is on Ms. Garland…so Mel acts as the attentive supporting player.
I've always appreciated Mr. Torme's work. Hia autographed picture , sits on my baby grand piano where he inspires me every time I sit down to play. Seeing Mr. Torme, in various concert settings was always satisfying, seeing a real pro work. I miss his presence and talent!

Every time government tries to fix something, they only make it worse.

Saw him take Laura I. to the woodshed. He didn't polish his image with that move. This guy has a real short fuse and is not afraid to take on those he thinks he can push around physically or through verbal intimidation. He could have handled this in a far more jocular manner…instead he chose to use his pinheaded 'bullying' approach. I bet he'd be 'hell on wheels' as a husband. Yeccccccch!

When anyone hears "the debate is over" (or the other favorite of certain people here: "there's consensus"), it's a sign that whoever said it is LOSING THE ARGUMENT. That person has LOST CONTROL. That person is weak, afraid and petty. Debate is NEVER over. Even regarding long-established things we think we know well, there is and should still be debate.

I've said it dozens of times, and here it is again: Alinsky said that "ridicule is man's most potent weapon". Alinsky was an idiot, but he knew the left and shaped it. "Ridicule" is the ONLY weapon the left has, and it is mankind's WEAKEST weapon. We know that the mind is the most potent weapon, and healthy debate requires a strong and prepared mind. The weak cannot resist this and will erupt in name-calling, scare tactics and screaming when confronted with it.

Obama's attempt to shut down debate again in Copenhagen has revealed how utterly ineffective he is as a leader, and how petty he is as a person.

I thought I may be the lone disenter to O'Reilly and his style of interview. Every time I watch I wonder why he invited the guests since he never lets them finish a thought. His ego is huge and he will be repeatedly a guest on a show where the host hates just to sell his books. I could go on but I believe you all have the same

I agree, the Beatles changed the music world along with some help with all the one, two or three
hit wonders that tagged along. If you are lucky enough to have access to the 30s,40s and early 50s
music channels on your radio or TV we can enjoy a minute or two listening to the best in pop music.

Well, Friday Night Lights might have finally joined the liberal propaganda bandwagon this week. I'll keep it sketchy since most of you won't be able to see it until next year, but here's the gist:

Guy's wife is seven months pregnant and goes into labor. He takes her to the hospital. The doctor says he wants to keep her overnight for observation, and the guy says, "I don't have any insurance. I was going to pay for the delivery out of my pocket, but I don't know about this extra. Can we work something out?" Doctor says, "The cost is what it is. I guess you could take her home and prop her up on her side. Maybe that would be enough." The wife's co-workers throw a fundraiser for the medical bills, but it doesn't add up to much. At the end of the episode, he's approached by a criminal we've been seeing throughout the season (he's a black kid with a chip on his shoulder and from the bad part of town, so I don't know why he's conveniently at the fundraiser) who tells him he can show him a way to make some serious money. Guy is very interested.

He is a Leftist but is hampered severely by the Constitution and us having basically only two parties. Years of erosion by leftist court decisions and Democrat vote buying is making the Constitution less relevant and guaranteed freedoms a thing of the past. Our protections are there as a bulwark against government intrusions on liberty whether from a right or left style of despotic rule. Tyranny from the nanny state Democrats is as bad as the gulag or jack boot thuggery of violent oppression.

Comcast cable, before I dumped them recently, and the only reason I miss them, is it had a music
channel, I believe called the swing ands singers(?) tunes of the 30s and 40s mostly. It carried
bands/ groups I had forgotten about. My brother 8 years older than I had all those albums, 78s
of course, and we wore them out. A very pleasant way to spend a little time. Of course we are dating ourselves or at least I am. I'm not so sure this music won't disappear in the near future with no new
fans of the genre.

There are few things more sacred to a republic than representation. The one man one vote and all it’s citizens are represented equally type promise. Why isn’t voter fraud hounded out of existence? Voter fraud is a direct assault on our republic, it can kill a nation. There is nothing more fraudulent than gerrymandering and it’s creation of an artificial majority based on party affiliation not representation to silence the dissention of we the people. It is one of the reason our congress does not listen to we the people. Gerrymandering is a creation of the government parties to protect their power and to turn representation into re-election.. It is one party rule on the district level.. The parties can not speak of freedom until districts are based on representation not party affiliation.

I just think y'all are strange. That's all I meant, and your reply is really nothing more than proof of where your mind is at.
