You know, your comments made me smile, but I bet that under all the rhetoric, that's exactly what they think he's doing to his wife. Married young, before she "really knew what she wanted," forced to stay at home all day raising the kids and cooking dinner and cleaning the house, etc. It never occurs to these people that raising their children well and helping provide a happy home for them is exactly what some women really want to do.

Had a conversation with a friend recently whose in-laws live in Canada. Her father-in-law was fine with their health care until he had a mild heart attack and was told he could not see a doc for 7 DAYS!!!!!!!!!! My friend called her dad who is a doc here in the US. He called a doc friend in Canada and arranged an appointment.

The only thing the government does is ration. They decide how much of our property they are going to confiscate, there by rationing how much we can keep of what We The People earned.
The entire budget process is rationing, who gets how much, and who doesn't. Who gets tax cuts and who gets tax cuts. Why anyone thinks this is going to be any different just because its health care is beyond me.
And the fun is really going to start when Congress starts divvying up funding based upon political realities. "So, Senator, you don't want to vote for my appropriation? Well, the head of the committee that says which hospitals have to close just happens to owe me a huge favor, too bad, so sad."
Personally, I find it hilarious that the young people who are going to run out and unthinkingly support Obamacare will spend the rest of their lives paying enourmous amounts of money to get sub standard medical treatment, while also suffering under huge income tax rates to pay down the Obamadebt. But at least they'll have a moment of fun "rocking the vote" before facing a lifetime of debt-slavery.

I worked for a doctor under a national Health scheme when I lived in Europe and let me tell you–there are procedures for working with people over the age of 60–not 80, 60. The first procedure is pain killers and drugs–that procedure lasts years. I knew a guy who hurt his back and needed BACK SURGERY but was given pain killers for two years and was still waiting for a doctor to APPROVE the surgery.
This guy was in severe back pain for more than two years…2 years.
It's all about the rationing. And who does the rationing: a gov't PANEL.
I wish we could afford for me to stay at home. My husband and I live on LI and the liberals tax us to death. I am forced to work, lest my husband have to take a 2nd job. Tyranny indeed.

A lot of people pushing this don't seem to understand the concept of insurance in general, much less health insurance in particular.
My health insurance policy is a legally binding contract. If my insurer chooses not to honor that contract, I can take them to court and sue them for damages.
Where do we go when the government fails to honor their contract? The courts? That's the part that really worries me. Our opponents will be the referee.
I find it amazing how many belong to this dying breed; the true heroes of America. Those who go to work, pay their taxes, and try to raise their kids to be good citizens against the odds created by a failed education system.

Does Funny or Die actually believe that healthcare is free? This is always the problem of the bleeding heart community, it makes perfect sense that Will Farrell makes $20 million for a picture no one cares to see all in the name of entertainment. That's totally cool and the free market should be allowed to work in this case.
But doctors (as well as insurance companies) must not be able to make a profit for their work because what they do actually helps people who need it. I wonder what the profit margin for Will Farrell, Inc. actually is? I know it is higher than any insurance company.
Get this. If the doctor in a universal health system screws up you can get retribution–but that, too, is rationed. For instance in the country I lived in, if the doctor took, say, the wrong finger off, that patient got $2000 or $6000 for a thumb. Less if you are older and not gainfully employed.
Everything is rationed. Everything.

The one thing that creeped me out was the glassy eyed looks most of the youths had in this video. It was like they were brain washed.
When I was young I had catastrophic health insurance. The deductible, should anything horrible happen, was huge, but most people can work with that through family members or payment deals with the hospital. It was about $5,000. Doable if you make the effort. And the premiums were about $100 a month. Again, doable and it was very nice to know you'd be covered if you got in an accident or were hit with a terrible illness. Otherwise, I would go to an urgent care clinic if I had a persistent fever or something. Yearly exams were done at various places including (don't hate me) Planned Parenthood.
I understand catastrophic health insurance is not as available anymore. That's a huge shame.
This health care plan is an atrocity on our economy. Anyone who votes for it needs to be voted out immediately. Lose their income like they're stealing ours.
