The filmmakers are developing school curriculum materials for the film and releasing an extended version on DVD.
Just remember, the happiest leftist you’ll ever see is one planted firmly between parent and child. They consider it their God-given Mother Earth-given right to move every mountain in their pop culture and education kingdoms to brainwash.

I knew it was coming. Eventually the Left will rewrite the history of WW2 to make the Allies just as bad as the Axis. They've been desperate to do it for years, and now they are.

In some places it is already being done but instead of portraying the Allies as just as bad as the Axis, it is portrayed as the being Axis as the innocent victims. My cousin went to public school during the late 90's and early 00's and had a high school teacher tell one of the classes she was in that WWII was a show of America's aggression with Hitler and Germany as the innocent victim of that aggression.
Sadly, nothing was done to that teacher because she was tenured and the union wouldn't let her be removed. The school district did try to get rid of her after that but once tenured, the teacher could commit murder in class and you couldn't get rid of them.
I was always amazed at how the Japanese are portrayed as the victims in WW2. As if they weren't allied with Hitler. And as if they weren't conquering Korea, China and all of Asia. As if they didn't attack the U.S.
China got pissed just about a year ago because of the way Japanese school books portrayed Japan in the war.
According to his Wiki page, "Zinn eagerly joined the Army Air Force during World War II to fight fascism, and he bombed targets in Berlin, Czechoslovakia and Hungary. Zinn's anti-war stance was, in part, informed by his own experiences in the military. In April, 1945, he participated in one of the first military uses of napalm, which took place in Royan, France."
For a Leftist, it's never enough to reconcile themselves to their own actions. They then have to project their own illness on you and me and then reconcile us too.
Liberals and leftists are at their blackened heart atheists, they dispise religion of any kind and cannot abide decency, tolerance and compassion or fairness in political discussion or thought. That is why their political aims and positions are exaclty matched with our enemies, whether they be terrorists or countries like Cuba or North Korea. These people are dangerous and I submit more so then the terrorists at this point in time. They should be rounded up and held in prisons and tried for treason and sedition.
If the US was the opportunistic imperialist power which he claims, we would today be ruling the world.
At the end of WWII, we have 12 million men in uniform, an enormous navy and airforce with thousands of high-altitude strategic bombers, and the only nukes.
How does the "imperialist aggressor" accusation of Zinn and Noam Chomsky square with our post-war decision to put nearly all of those soldiers back in civilian life, scrap most of the bombers and warships, and attempt to create an international body like the UN? For that matter, why are Canada and Mexico still autonomous nations and not annexed as US territories?
To paraphrase Ricky Ricardo, Zinn and his drones have a lotta 'splainin' to do.
I'm not at all surprised of this, especially after watching this 8 and a half minute video promoting Zinn's graphic novel "The People's History of American Empire" narrated by Viggo Mortenson. It's disgusting that these Hollywood ninnies mouth platitudes about the Greatest Generation and the war they fought against Nazi totalitarianism, then those imbecilic thespians go and embrace a guy who cannot distinguish between his fellow WWII era GI's and the goose-stepping Gestapo they fought against.

So if I am not mistaken, what this docu. implies is that Nazi Germany, which precipitated a world war and killed upwards of 50 million people, and destroyed the eastern Europes Jewish population are the victims now? All I can say is WOW!!!

Celebs, pols, and professional activists are rarely called to back up their rhetoric with facts and not self serving interpretation. This is an opportunity for clear thinking Americans to hold these celebrities' feet to the fire. It is now framed and documented in this outrageous, distortion, of a grand history that has done more good for mankind than any country before and as I write this. I say, they should NOT get a pass. Their involvement in this project should be referenced with an air of scorn every time their names are mentioned, written about, or discussed in private conversation. Because "the people" are always in favor of redistribution of wealth, destruction of the rich, social justice, etc. When there's opposition, it can't be a legitimate or popular belief, it has to be from the evil capitalists or their pawns. Ultimately, it matters more that it's being done in the name of "the people" than whether or not "the people" are asking for it.
One more reason to hate school unions, and I say that having a mom who has been in the public schools as a teacher and principal for almost 30 years.

The ignorance of history and human nature displayed by these leftist loons is breathtaking. It is interesting to read how Stalin liquidated those that acted as tools in his rise to power, and one wonders how it is that such tools today, like Danny Glover, Mikey Moore, and Matt Damon, think things are going to be different if their world vision becomes reality. It is a good bet that Stalin himself was going to be liguidated if Lenin had not suffered a debilitating stroke when he did.
I've been trying to tell my lefty-liberal mother, who lived through WWII as a child and fully understands and respects why WWII had to happen and who didn't believe me, that much of the left says that all war is bad and not even WWII was necessary. Thank you SO MUCH Big Hollywood for pointing out this article (as I would have never read the LA Times on my own). I sent the article to my mother via email. Can't wait to see what she says.
Answers simple! I won't say why the US didn't (that would be rude) but it's probably the same reason as Canada (Canada had the 3rd largest navy, 2nd largest air force, etc.). Canadian soldiers would have absolutely refused to go along with that stupidity! It wouldn't even have been a revolution (not our style) just a "What are you idiots babbling about?"

I won't go that far….yet. There may come a time, and soon, that the only alternative is, violent counteroffensive. I don't know and I sincerely hope it does not come to that. Make no mistake. Conservative/Libertarians have to retake the Republican party at the state and local level and work tirelessly to purge these cretins from their positions of power. Yeah, I think this is already in schools. I had a discussion with a 24 year-old friend of mine who calmly stated that there was no need to drop the A-bomb on Japan because "they were ready to surrender". I tried to correct him but I am not sure 1 hour at a bar can undo years of indoctrination.

Yeah, I haven't heard of it being used in Europe, although that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It would seem that its use would be less conducive to the combat in the European theater.

Eh, I would say preaching politics or religion should have no place. It's getting bad enough now that you can't even mention religion in context; unless you're denouncing the Crusades and praising the Rise of Islam. For example, most people don't know the abolitionist movement started as a very religious Christian-based movement with a lot of real world and theological reasons for stopping slavery. It's just "and then the North decided slavery was bad".

Go to the ISR guide to the people speak. They are talking about teaching materials that quote Karl Marx. I don't want to be part of yet another communist experiment that will leave people incapable of thinking for themselves, and incapable of creating a productive life. The whole program made negative emphisis of Christians, Whites, Males, Patriotism and the necessity of military action. The program was a joke. I laughed at how biased and leftist it was.
