Meanwhile, the Arctic Fox’s book is #1 while crowds swell at her signings… and a poll now shows her vs Obama’s approval numbers closed within the margin of error… I think we all can see where this is headed…

Huckabee wasn't Governor in 2009 when Washington said we can't hold this man without bail unless you guys in Arkansas issue a warrant on him since he violated his parole when he left Arkansas. Arkansas officials said “No we don't want him” so the Judge in Washington HAD to grant bail, even though he went with a high amount ($190,000) I wish someone could make O'Reilly retract his usual bogus reporting. MSM my foot. Fox News is garbage.

I agree with you. The blame is not on Huckabee for what the late parole violator did. Huck gave someone a second chance–something that is a decidedly Christian thing to do. The dead guy is responsible for the murders, the rapes, etc. Not Huckabee.

WTF is up with the "400- Bad Request" b___s___?! At least once a week, I either get locked out of a particular thread (the complete article/column & comments) or the entire BigHollywood or BigGovernment sites. I just get a blank white screen with '400- Bad Request' in large black type in the upper left corner. I'm not posting anything inflammatory, controversial, or anything else that would get me a time-out, either.

I've reported this glitch to site admin repeatedly and it typically is fixed (or goes away on its own) by the next day, but it keeps cropping up- most recently, it locked me out of the whole BigGovernment site a few minutes ago.

I've NEVER experienced anything remotely resembling this problem on any other website, so I seriously doubt it has anything to do with my computer. Does anybody else ever run into this problem? (May be my last post today- will probably get locked out of this site/thread, too.)

I have no experience with Apples, so I don't know if that makes it better or worse.

There are some times where the web site won't even load. I get a completely blank page. I use Fire Fox, but I have Internet Explorer installed. Some times it works with one browser but not with the other. And there are times it won't work with either.

I'm hoping it's just a work in process, and at those times, they're making changes to the code.

Dude, it may simply be a case of your comment being too big.
Try submitting a shorter comment and then maybe editing it to complete your contribution- but keep in mind if it's too big, it won't work.

I use Opera as a browser. I open a new link to the site here and it is as if I have reached a cached version b/c when I immediately reload the amount of comments increases from what it show just a moment earlier.

IIRC, it has happened on threads i haven't even commented on and compared to some of the more verbose dissertations that get posted occasionally, mine are usually pretty terse. it's happened on threads where i have one brief comment and some where i've made numerous contributions of varying length. there appears to be no rhyme or reason for this maddening occurrence.

and if this annoying phenomenon was confined only to individual threads it would be one thing, but how is the size of one, or even a few, of my comments going to affect the entire site?

one other thing- a few weeks ago, for a few days i was getting 'malware warnings' before the site would even load. i just stayed away until that little bit of potential cyber-clap passed…

It took place 15 miles south of my house. I grew up down there. I've been allowed to do ride-alongs with on-duty Police & EMT's around Puget Sound. There are no greater heroes than military, police and fire and emergency personnel.

I haven't had anything specifically like what you mention, but I have been locked out of the message boards before, it doesn't happen very often but it is irritating. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that, like you, I am not a logged in and registered user, so when there is a glitch in the system, we get hardest hit. Obviously I could fix this by registering on the system, but I don't have round-the-clock access to a computer, so until I do, I don't see much point in it. Also, I'm technologically illiterate.

I would expect any Governor to keep killers off the streets. Huckabee does have a reputation for falling for the born-again felon story. But I have to call out Bill O'Reilly for naming judges and showing their faces and saying the deaths of the officers is because of bleeding hearts that set low bail. The facts are the judges were bound by the state constitution and the $15,000 bail amount mentioned by O'Reilly is totally false. He's a chicken-liver lowlife. (I don't use profanity here anymore.)

I know I am still fighting against the last save America bill, which has bankrupted our country. They always point to WWII why we got out of the depression..80million dead world wide untold millions maimed… We had about 20million in uniform at slave wages. Half million dead and another million wounded.. We had agricultural economy so many more people just existed during this time on the family farm….my point being was it spending that save the day or was it happiness that we survived…What really got us out of the depression.? The spending, the reduction of population, the reduction of the workforce, or just the happiness we survived. I don’t know no one ever talks about it.

You are correct. Al Gore did NOT win an Oscar for this film. The director, Davis Guggenheim, won the Oscar.

However, I've seen both liberals and conservatives make this mistake.

That happens to me from time to time also. I think its bugs in the Java code. Some times I have to close all my browser windows down to flush the java out of memory.

They've got a fairly complicated system, frankly I'm surprised they don't have more issues. For the most part it seems fairly stable.

I agree, its a sensitive system. I can't say for sure, but I get the impression its a work in progress. And some of the regular fixes, additions and such, don't work as well as others.

I'm not a big fan of java, I took a week long class on it several years ago, and it didn't make any of it clearer. I'm an old school structured programmer. And java seems almost like a scam to me.

So glad I have access to iTunes! The 'wanna-be's' who mimic Frank, Dino ,Mel Torme, Joe Williams, Nat 'King' Cole, Perry Como,Andy Williams and others aren't successful and never will be. They don't have the substance or the style.

I heard somewhere that while the bail was 190,000 (or 150,000–I've seen both in print), if one uses a bail bondsman, one only has to pay 1/10 the price. The bondsman covers the rest. So, the murderer himself only had to bay 15 K, but the bail was still 150 K.

I agree with you about O'Reilly. He's bloviating and misleading in regards to this story. Usually, I don't find fault with him, but Megyn Kelly is the one with legal chops, and she's got the right of it. Meanwhile, O'Reilly refuses to listen to her.
