Conservatives often talk about what they don’t like about Hollywood. That’s okay, but it’s not productive. Maybe it’s time we talked about what we do like? More to the point, let’s point out when Hollywood has gotten it right. And that brings me to the...

Did You Hear the One About Obama Winning the Nobel Peace Prize?
One last laugh before Obama picks up the Nobel prize after tonight's photo-op and Copenhagen next week.
Exactly, why does he have to go to West Point? The Oval just doesn't have the same atmospherics?

But the article said they can use the less polluting fuel when near port, but it is more interesting on how they are exempt from pollution guidelines, what other exemtions are out there?
That monster in Seattle was shot dead this morning. Good riddance.
Attention Mr. Huckabee:
I was an admirer of yours, but after your appearance on O’Reilly last night, I sadly realized you’re like most politicians who can’t or won’t ‘man-up’ when it counts!

I have 1 question
If Hussein Obama throws the Secret Service under the bus for the State dinner crashers ,who is he going to trust then ?
Less than 10% of Obama's cabinet has private sector experience…because you usually don't find Marxists in the world of business…
…and the business of America is BUSINESS.
…and the business of America IS BUSINESS.
That's why they have to be careful about finding the individuals responsible for letting those two idiots through the gates. It doesn't mean he needs to sell the whole Service down the river. Of course judging by his history he probably will.
I never trusted Huckabee. I always thought he was a few notes short of a ditty.
I would take Huckabee if he hit women over what we have now
/I know he does not hit women ,but those men are the worst form of human beings alive

I fear we may have reached the tipping point Benjamin Franklin spoke of. America has become the land of give me free stuff.
Exactly. They were already building the insanity defense in the media. The circumstances this morning were the only way for this horrible violent act (or, rather, string of violent acts) to end without further harming the police and the public.
Agreed, preying on the weaker sex (sorry PC police!) is detestable, but he allowed violent offenders back on the street to prey on men, women and children including those that patrol our neighborhoods for our protection.
Anyway, my point was that Huck doesn't get my vote in a primary ever. I'd have to reconsider for a general election.
Hahahaha
You Racist !
Let's face facts. Most Secret Service Agents are white and we all know whites are just… stupid.
OK – this is a good one to have had labeled. I didn't recognize Janet Gaynor and don't know much about her. A look at Wikipedia shows she was in Murnau's "Sunrise," which I'd like to see, and many other films, both silent and talkies and afterwards. Four Academy Awards for best actress, including the first one given to an actress, and the only one given to an actress for multiple roles (they changed the rules after her).
Found this tribute to her at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mE5Vf_IQLrI . What beautiful eyes and lovely smile. In her older years, she looked remarkably (at least in these photos) like Angela Lansbury!
Did two Google searches earlier this morning. Here are the results for the top item in each search.
Google Search/News: "White House Crashers" = 5,422 Articles
Google Search/News: "Climate Change Emails" = 270 Articles
I rest my case.
What is a conservative? What is a progressive? What is a republican? What is a democrat? All these titles have lost their meaning..Even a lie and the truth have lost their meaning… Now the constitution is losing it’s meaning and it was written in blood…When we the people holds no one accountable, then the constitution has lost it's meaning and the promise of America dies.
Obama's speech will bump "A Charlie Brown Christmas" & "The Biggest Loser" This stuff almost writes itself.
I liked Huckabee but you are right. He just became unelectable.
It's still "The Biggets Loser"……..Oh wait, that's us! 2012 can't come fast enough.
"Biggest". Note to self, use spell check!
After Huckaby torpedoed Romney and helped stick us with Mc"Iwannabepartofhistory"Lame, I wouldn't even vote for him in the general – er well if BHO actually runs for a second term, MAYBE. I fear he will be trying to influence things from the second row now, and he should be shut out entirely. He is Bill Clinton dressed up as a Republican.
Time to bring out that civilian "army" – you know, ACORN, SEIU, Panthers… Digbats anyone?
Not surprising in the least.
There is no limit to the depths they will stoop to further their agenda.
I never trusted him, he seemed too McCain like for my tastes.
Any politician who jumps on the global warming bus is doing either because they're trolling for votes, or else they are idiots.
Either one loses my vote.
ACORN and SEIU.
Hardly surprising. When it comes to controlling human populations, knowing how to please a customer is of little use.
Here's how I define the left and the right.
The left is for the supremacy of the state over the individual. There fore, the right must be supremacy of the individual over the state.
That places every person, people, organization, political parties or movements that seek to expand government control at the expense of individual freedom and liberty, firmly on the left. That includes communists, socialists, fascists, progressives, democrats, modern liberals, the KKK, white supremacists, etc.
Any group that believes that government supremacy is fine, as long as they are running it, is, in my opinion, ultimately leftist.
So my question is, where do conservative and republicans fall on that scale? I've been watching for 40 years (albeit, for most of that time with liberal blinders on), but I have to say, the run away spending of the eight years of Bush & GOP Congress, I'm not coming away with warm fuzzys.
McCain was the nominee! How did that happen if so many people are opposed to him?
And corrupt. And racist. And they all look the same.
Especially the conservative ones!
Well, he did talk about that civilian national security force during the election…
Well, now we can at least hear Obama talk about himself and how HE was sent to earth to proclaim peace and goodwill towards men. Can we nominate Linus Van Pelt for president?
I did recognize her, even though it's a really young picture. Never one of my favorites, and I think the only movie of hers that I've seen all the way through is "A Star Is Born". Not a very good actress, IMHO.
"Any group that believes that government supremacy is fine, as long as they are running it, is, in my opinion, ultimately leftist."
That would make conservatism a leftist philosophy too. I think you're onto something.
People would call me a lefty for my positions, but I most certainly do not want supremacy of the state over the individual. What does that make me? Moderate? Independent? Sometimes the answer says more about the judger than it does about the judged.
Right now you have to choose between Hussein Obama or Huckabee
?Who is it gonna be ?
good post..
How did they rig the primaries? I preferred Huckabee at the time, despite religious views he seemed most sensible, he won Iowa. … This discussion makes me wonder if voters were so split over the R candidates it allowed McCain to slip into it. There wasn't unifying support for any one of them.
True. I mean really. White House Crashers who it turns out Obama KNOWS! Versus…the biggest $$$$HOAX perpetrated in the history of mankind.
White House Crashers = Pure Distraction. Nothing more.
Its hard to agree. Fox has a far greater influence than MSM. McCain really was the only one that had a chance in the general, he used to be the Maverick, he had a chance to appeal to moderates. But he just campaigned poorly, didn't make appeals to the middle, and Palin, while energizing the base also scared away the middle. Huckabee maybe could have won the general, he was a governor, he was mild mannered and dimwitted enough to be middle-American (thats the definition of Arkansas- dimwitted middle America). It was just a poor selection of candidates. And coming off 8 years of W, it just wasn't going to happen with poor selections.
Again, this is only my opinion, and my definition, but yes, a lot of people who consider themselves conservatives seem more than happy with big, all encompassing centrally planned government, as long as they are in charge of it.
McCain-Fiengold is a perfect example. It violates my constitutional right to free speech. 30 Days before an election, politicians can spend as much money as they can get, yet if I pay $15 for a small ad in the local paper advocating on politician over another, I have committed a federal offense.
The Farm Bill is another. Both political parties are more than happy to rain down billions of tax payer money on the mid west, in my opinion, primarily because Iowa caucuses are first in the nation, and none of them want to upset Iowa voters.
The list goes on and on and on. I can't think of any democrats who are against any of this, and only a few republicans who are vocally opposed. This stuff is all unconstitutional. And it benefits politicians of both stripes at We The People's expense.
Write in Sarah Palin.

7 stories Barack Obama doesn't want told
Presidential politics is about storytelling. Presented with a vivid storyline, voters naturally tend to fit every new event or piece of information into a picture that is already neatly framed in their minds.

/ Hussein Obama is an open book…..We know him like we know family
Well, originally we were debating the primaries, why McCain lost the general election is a different horse altogether.
I agree with you. Eight years of Bush and what was it, twelve of a GOP Congress?
America has a long and illustrious history of just getting tired of one party and throwing them out of power. There were 20+ years of FDR/Truman and dem control of congress (I think, haven't verified), then 8 years of Ike and the GOP, the JFK.
It always goes back and forth like that. My question is why didn't Obama get even more votes?
The "begets loser" or "bigots loser" work too
and that he is also the Great Pumpkin.
During the campaigns and even now, the liberals/Dems would not accept the word "socialist" to apply to Obama. Now there is a video of Scream Man Howard Dean stating that because of Obama there is now a wonderful mix of Capitalism and Socialism that exists, that the only question remaining is how much of each should be applied.
How can there by ANY question left on where the Democrats are leading this country? I'm hoping that Fox gets this out in the open.
or the Red Baron.
Ditto that.
Oh, funny story about Huckabee, since you're not a big fan. Last summer ('08), he came to our local congresswoman's annual picnic as the keynote speaker. I live in Missouri's 8th District, which has about 27 counties, 24 of which broke for Huckabee in the primary. He commented on this fact during his speech and said, "Now I just want to ask you, what's wrong with those other three counties?" What makes that statement so funny is, the county in which this speech occurred was one of three that voted against him, and one of the other two was just to the north (both broke heavily for Romney), and their residents made up the majority of the people there! If there was ever an instance of putting your foot in your mouth…
Both good, but I think he'd prefer the "Joe Cool" title over either of them. (Although the Great Pumpkin would be a close second.)
That is a funny story.
The first time I heard Huckabee state global warming was real, and government had to fix it, he was crossed off my list.
I figured out all this stuff was a hoax years ago. This is not how science works. If you're sure your data is sound, you don't hide it, you plaster it every where you can find. And now they're basically telling us the dog ate their home work. Please, I wouldn't accept that from a 6 year old.
They'll do their duty up to a point, but it would not surprise me to not see flying Secret Service guys not jump up to take a possible bullet of Obummer they way they did for Reagan.
Bah, Rock! Oh! Bummer!
Janet Gaynor – A STAR IS BORN was her swan song and she is barely remembered these days except by film buffs.
I don't quite get what made her so popular, but it is likely my fault and not her lack of appeal.
Corner sage says – "Huckabee as POTUS? A fat, Bible touting Spam eater in overalls with a crew cut. No, thanks."
I disagree. To rise to that level in their profession, in my opinion they would have to take duty and honor pretty seriously. They know the risks when they sign up, and they do it anyway.
Now if being a modern liberal was a requirement, I would completely agree with you.
Dean is banking on the premise that his base is economically ignorant. And he is right. It's scary how few people seem to know the difference between capitalism and socialism.
Oh, please, you know the science is sound and that the time for debate is over. It's very clear you just hate polar bears.
Well, I actually do agree with what Dean says. That is, I agree with his assertion that the debate between capitalism and socialism is over. It's been over since November 9, 1989.
50 years from now on Big Hollywood…" yup thats some babe named Julia Roberts…face like
a horse….what was up with those people at the turn of the century." They all had tatoos in those
days too….very weird.
And the tax payers have been saved the money of years of litigation and appeals.
I define leftist is any group that manipulates the government and the law to gain or maintain power.. Gerrymandering, elections laws. Tax codes, regulations, and other forms of manipulation. This clearly implicates Both parties and thousands of lobbyist groups.
He is correct the US is heading towards a mix of capitalism and socialism.
Where's f%$&ed up in the head is saying that's a good thing.
I agree entirely. I've said for years this concept of democrats vs. republicans and liberals vs. conservative is nothing but political theater.
The real battle is between the ruling elite vs. We The People. Everything else is a distraction so we can't see what's really going on. And the MSM is completely on board because they like being part of the ruling elite, if only from a distance.
I am glad we agree.. I am still trying to figure out how to shine the light on the corruption when so many are happy with their corruption.
WAR TAX?.. WE already have a tax that pays for war and defense. .It is all that pig stink that is not paid for including the wages of congress.
I'd rather have him then the one we got in there now. Evidently you have a problem with people who are overweight or former pastors or crew cuts. What I have a problem with is socialists trying to destroy this country. That is what we got now. I wish Mike Huckabee was president.
You're already doing brother, this is it. The new alternative media. The internet.
I've tried blogging a couple of times, got bored with it because all I was doing was offering analysis on existing information, no way to generate new information. But if you want, take a stab at it, go for it.
And blogging doesn't have to be just pithy political analysis. You can do comics, pictures, cover local issues. The only limit is your own imagination.
I do have a web site that I run for my Church that's running pretty good. We've gotten almost 20,000 hits in just over 2 years, and that includes ramp up and roll out times. I get my content from the people running the Parish and it's school.
My next goal is to start doing web casts of Masses, and then move onto adult education classes, and possibly even weddings and funerals. I once got an email through the webmaster email account and it broke my heart. A elderly couple Arizona couldn't afford to make the trip back to NY for a funeral, so they had written a letter and asked me to get it into the families hands. We can't solve that situation, but we can help make it better.

Sad but about expected of the American Idol generation.

Spell Check Is My Friend.
Because they rigged the primaries, that's why. I like Huckabee all right but I'm still mad at how he and McCain put the fix in on Romney the way they did. And this situation with the cop killer doesn't help, either.
My own opinion was far too many people in the GOP are far too influenced by the MSM.
The democrats used the MSM to convince many republicans their only chance was with McCain. I heard the MSM say that multiple times. Why on earth the so many GOP primary voters would listen to the likes of Krugman, Huffington, Matthews, Begala, and the likes, is beyond my mental abilities.
But, that's just my opinion.
Civilian Police Force …. mmmm…mmm…..mmm
I am glad to see the field winnowed.
I never liked Huck.
"I don't quite get what made her so popular, but it is likely my fault and not her lack of appeal. "
Well, for whatever it's worth, two things come to mind from looking at the pictures included in the YouTube tribute I posted above:
1. She was a link between the silent era and that of talking pictures. In those early days, you can see two "Janets," one of them with a Clara Bow mouth painted on and a baby face that must have given Mary Pickford a real challenge at the box office (and that was difficult to do in those days!), and the other, a naturally beautiful, relaxed and modern woman. I've not yet seen that in any other actress of the early 20th century. It appears as if she might have matured during roughly same time span as motion pictures did, and that would mean a lot to audiences of the day.
2. Her eyes are very expressive and she appears to have very good control of body language. These are powerful tools for an actor, and judging from the comments for "Sunrise" at IMDb, she used them well in a medium without audible dialogue and even in a silent movie with very few title cards. Then, she also had a nice voice, and that carried her through the transition.
I'm really interested in seeing some of this actress's work now.
PS: I looked it up – she's not related to Mitzi.
Personally, the religious views were the main thing I thought he had going for him, though I'd take anyone over Obama, but that's not the point. I know it was rigged, or that there was some conspiracy going on, because word got out on "Super Tuesday," when all the primaries occurred, that in West Virginia, when McCain's people saw that they weren't going to win, they threw all their votes to Huckabee to deny Romney the win, because it was close. Plus, Huckabee acted as McCain's attack dog throughout the season. I agree that we weren't unified enough, which made it easier for McCain, but there was definitely some collusion occurring between him and Huckabee. I have a very, VERY long memory regarding that year.
Ditto that.

A small thing maybe: Not once during tonight's speech on the war in Afghanistan did President Obama mention Osama Bin Laden.
So I wonder if Jones' supporters are calling him a quitter loser brainless milksop. Isn't that the reaction they had for Palin when she stepped down from her governorship when she became a burden and a distraction?
Pride indeed. When your theories and postulates become your inviolable essence that is the end of science.
I don't even think the sky's the limit, Ed.
Every socialist believes they can do better than Marx and Engles and make it "work". I don't want to be some marxist's -or Obama's- failed economic experiment.
the 1st "A Star is Born" is a great movie. Frederic March is one of my all time favorites.
He certainly used his favorite first person pronoun "I" a lot though, didn't he? B0 a legend in his own mind.
Your powers of deduction are remarkable.
"…bigots loser". You beat me to it, BP…
She's just a bit too mousy and demure for me.
But Romney is smarmTASTIC. That plus Massachusetts state health care makes his losing not such a great loss.
