Conservatives often talk about what they don’t like about Hollywood. That’s okay, but it’s not productive. Maybe it’s time we talked about what we do like? More to the point, let’s point out when Hollywood has gotten it right. And that brings me to the...

Today, under Barack Obama, there are two Americas, not one-The Obamas puttin' on the glitz
Imelda Obama and her husband are living large on our dime. Imelda's earrings were by Bochic, jeweler to the stars. The dress could have cost $40,000 but that's a state secret as is the event itself.

Don't know what the Aussie pols down under have that ours don't, but our pols need to take note, (I'm talking to you, repubs) and grow some spine or some backbone before 2010.
"If in doubt, vote them out!"
Okay, my guess on the photo is the new director of the NEA. This one looks a little more rational than the previous title holder
Normally I am glad when the Prez screws up. Each misstep puts us one step closer to electing a competent administration in 2012.
Barry's narcissim bordering on delusional and his screw-ups internationally, however, are very dangerous for our republic. Someone with common sense and international experience had better take up residence in the West Wing or we're going to have a monumental job recovering from his incompetence.
It will make Reagan's herculean efforts to right the ship of state following Carter's disastrous tenure look like child's play.
This looks like Celeste Holm – do I win a prize?
This past June, 0bama fired AmeriCorps Inspector General Walpin.
The reason?
Walpin was probing hush money used to cover up Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's sex scandal involving underage girls.

The Competing Narratives of Barry and Sarah
In the spring of 1964, Sarah Heath, then just three months old, flew into backwater Skagway, Alaska (population 650) aboard a 1930s-era Grunman Goose to start a new life with her parents, brother, and sister.
At that same time, in America's other new outlier state, Hawaii, two-year-old Barry Obama was just getting used to a fatherless existence in the otherwise-comfortable world his white grandparents and occasionally his mother would make for him.

Oh sure – Aunt Eller – thanks for the clarification!
Peggy Noonan believed she could join the cool kids by backing Barack Obama and dissing Sarah Palin.
I was reminded of something I began noticing a few months ago in bipartisan crowds. I would ask Democrats how they thought the president was doing. In the past they would extol, with varying degrees of enthusiasm, his virtues. Increasingly, they would preface their answer with, “Well, I was for Hillary.” This in turn reminded me of a surprising thing I observe among loyal Democrats in informal settings and conversations: No one loves Barack Obama. Half the American people say they support him, and Democrats are still with him. But there were Bill Clinton supporters who really loved him. George W. Bush had people who loved him. A lot of people loved Jack Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. But no one seems to love Mr. Obama now; they’re not dazzled and head over heels. That’s gone away.

I vote for Celeste Holm…
Now that Thanksgiving is over (Bama said he was "going to eat this sucker" referring to the turkey he pardoned, class, class all the way) don't take your eye off the ball. He and the DemoRats are going to keep switching the cup that it's under to keep us looking in the wrong direction.
Not too many Americans remember a time when a man's word was his action. When he says he supports the 2nd Amendment look out 'cause he's coming to make it as hard as possible to continue owning one, when he says he's going to insure the 25-40 million who don't have health insurance and that you can keep your present coverage – lookout, cause he's coming to take yours or make it as hard on your insurance company to keep offering it until it goes out of business and you have no other option than to get Govt. run insurance.
He's the liar of our time.

Obama WTF
Obama WTF (What's The Facts?) is the original, and most comprehensive, authoritative site about the life, votes, and positions of freshman Senator Barack Obama and his political backers. As his campaign is based on words… not on a proven track-record… if his words are not supported by facts, there’s nothing left but an empty blue suit. No experience; no judgment; no integrity; NO Obama.

So true…this idiot/man/clown is doing damage beyong comprehension…
I was thinking about the couple that slipped past Secret Service and crashed The White House State Dinner-and-a-movie…then I remembered the line from Murder at 1600: If the president can't keep his 'own' house safe, then how can he keep the country safe?
I know that's just a line from a movie, but what this couple did, they did for the reality of it…and for keeps (on Facebook). So this was far more comical than some jumble of Three Stooges not Vetting Crashers on Absolut Bauer for Dinner at 1600-
I was upset that 0bama celebrated 'the holiday' Halloween. And doing it in The Orange House brought him one step closer to Hell. But here were two more trick-or-treaters maybe three weeks too late. And now it was The Fun House, with all the cobwebs of decorum long since gone.
But the final nail-in-the-coffin came from the very sick Veep under 0bama's spell. Despite mounting erroneous recovery.gov data, 0bama stood by his false claim, "Nobody messes with Joe!" And they don't…
They just get their picture taken with him.
Wow! I never heard of Charlotte Greenwood before this, was intrigued by the Wikipedia entry for her (about 6 feet tall and came up through vaudeville to eventually star on Broadway, in movies, and on the radio–quite a character) and found this hilarious clip with Eddie Cantor (who apparently was about as tall as her, and incredibly flexible!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckWWjYsza3o
Thanks!
Nonie Darwish, the executive director of Former Muslims United and author of "Cruel And Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law," was scheduled to speak at Columbia and Princeton Universities last week, but both events were canceled under pressure from Muslim groups on campus.
Columbia, where Ahmadinejad was welcomed like a returning king.
……."We CANNOT under estimate these filthy pigs and their agenda of hate and subjugation… "
I have not ever nder estimated them
And I still think Hussein Obama is tied to them deeper than we think
Sharia law will replace the Constitution before Hussein Obama is done
He hates America and everything it stands for
I remember reading somewhere that ACORN had Hamas ties
I read a couple days ago that Walpin was cleared and found to be fully competent. But they did not offer to rehire him! Apparently he is guilty of doing his job. Intolerable!
Totally agreed. NOW she sees him for what any normal person knew all along and she wants to provide US with her insight? Pish freaking Posh!
Reagan certainly would not have been proud of her these past few years. Her or David Brooks. PU
Thanksgiving was strange this year, with everyone delicately keeping quiet about things they shouted in my face last year.
No mention of Obama, polotics, etc., from a family where I'm the only conservative.
They eerily discussed Bozo the Clown and old kid's shows for an inordinate amount of time.
I haven't seen a competent administration in over 20 years. Hard to remember what one looks like.
That's very telling.
In all my years of debating modern liberals, changing the subject is a sign they know they're cornered.
If you ask me, she was just jumping on the same bad wagon as many other politicians and reporters.
Remember the scene from The Outlaw Josey Whales, on the ferry. While Whales is on the ferry, the ferry owner is singing Dixie. When he drops off Whales on the other side, and he gets half way across the river on his way back he starts singing Battle Hymn of the Republic.
That's what it reminded me of.
To be fair, I'm sure secret service had their hands full with the Hollywood modern liberals.
I can just imagine them screaming into cell phones at their agents. "Some guy here wants to frisk me and search through my man-purse! GET DOWN HERE AND TELL THEM WHO I AM!"
Organizations on the left will not hesitate to team up with any group, no matter how radical, as long as it furthers their agenda.
I don't think we need to worry anymore about the constitution than under any other recent president, Bush did his best to shoot it full of holes too.
And the reason I'm not too worried is the second amendment. I know the left would love to out right ban guns, but I don't see that happening either.
Several years ago Bill Whittle published a series of essays in book form called "Silent America: Essays from a Democracy at War." What a powerful book. Reading that was like a mental triathlon.
One of the essays he ponders disarming America. His opinion was no, because the people who would have to carry it out are the same people they'd have to do it to. Maybe they could do it in the bigger cities, but through out most of America it would trying to confiscate their own guns, their neighbor's guns, the bothers and sisters and parents guns. And if it came to that, they would refuse and join the other side.
That seems logical to me.
Charlotte Greenwood is a long time favorite of anyone who watches 20th Century-Fox musicals of the 1940s. She's a panic. She usually plays the same type of character in every film. She almost always gets to do some of her eccentric dancing which is amazing to see b/c she was about 50 y/o before she hit her stride in films. (Aunt Eller in OKLAHOMA is her last film and pretty much a coda to her biggest films of the 40s.)
Here she is in one of 'her' best films – MOON OVER MIAMI from 1941 playing the aunt of Betty Grable and Carole Landis (Mmmmm…Carole Landis!) as all three woman are down in Miami seeking rich husbands. It's an earlier version of HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE. She in the entire clip, but her song and dance number with Jack Haley (The Tin Woodsman from The Wizard of Oz) begins at the 4:20 minute mark….and watcch her hand at the 5:07 mark as she steals the moment from Jack Haley. Too much!
IMDB has Cantor at 5'8" and Greenwood at 6'0"
She shines on film in

That's why this country is arming itself at RECORD PACE! I support EVERY AMERICAN that exercises his or her right to defend themselves from the coming Islamic storm.

I read it. l loved it. I passed it along. Thanks!
I find they start name calling and then stomp out of the room.
Both very effective methods for changing the subject.
After 8 years of being hacked apart at Thanksgiving by my lesser relatives (and never resorting to calling them names to their faces or running away when it got hot) I thoroughly enjoyed this year's slice and dice. I called them out when the name calling started and manned escape routes with my able husband accomplice wingman.
We digested well.

The FBI is worried about how Crashers got into the White House, but could care less a Commie is the President.
The penguin knows.
We live in scary times my friends! We must take things back not only nationally, but commenting locally and not assuming the other guy knows what you know, reads what you reads, or watches what you watch.
Share the facts!
I remember her as Aunt Eller in "Oklahoma!"
Charlotte Greenwood seems to be the consensus choice, but who sprung first to mind for me was Fanny Brice, a funny girl whose Baby Snooks routine was before my time but who still floats around my memory (God knows why) as the only truly memorable icon of the Flo Ziegfeld era. The pic sure looks more like a second-hand Rose than an Aunt Eller.
I saw a clip on YouTube from "Down Argentine Way" that demonstrates how she earned the reputation, rather odd-sounding by today's standards, of being the only woman in the world who could kick a giraffe in the eye:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQvZUltlRRw
Her singing voice was beautiful, perhaps her greatest gift (though I'm just judging it by a few scenes on YouTube).
She was too tall, too active and muscular, not pretty, not particularly buxom, and with a loud voice that could drown out others — how could she have become a success? I think it was vaudeville, when unusual features were popular ones. She was human, like her audience, but in addition, she was entertaining and interesting. She was also one of the few that carried over into movies.
BTW, there is also a YouTube clip of her doing a similar "I love you!" shtick with Buster Keaton, in "Parlor, Bedroom, and Bath," but Buster (my number one favorite comedian of the silent days) was in his alcoholic phase then, unfortunately, and seems to sabotage the whole thing. It's really awful. Greenwood's frustration with him here may be real as well as scripted. It's depressing for a Keaton fan, but useful to contrast with the Eddie Cantor clip to see just how hard Cantor was actually working, even though Greenwood seems to be carrying the whole scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGeFzg0N2-o
Cantor looked taller than that somehow, but it's hard to tell — maybe that IMDb height measurement was before she got him on the table (BG!).
As long as you have your facts straight, your research well done, you don't let them frame the debate, and you don't let them change the subject, you can not lose to a modern liberal in a debate.
So true. I have lived 16 years with liberal master debaters (with mean streaks). Finally I have caught up with them and now have the added bonus of being one of the few unbotoxed faces – meaning I can give them the look of superiority, incredulousness, skepticism, doubt… while they remain poker-faced. Unfortunately, they have the upper hand at cards later in the evening!

Ouch, remind me never to get smarmy in a debate with you! That's hilarious.
