I understand the sentiment, and did the same for years. But I decided several years ago no more. My vote is mine and I will not settle for the lesser of two evils. My civic duty is complete once I enter the voting booth. At that point its all me.

If I have a preference for one candidate over the other I will vote for them, as I did Bush in 2004. Iraq was far too unstable to hand over to the likes of Kerry.

If I have no preference, and no opinion, I vote against the incumbent on the theory they've already been in office, and they've probably only made things worse.

Thirdly, if I'll vote for third or fourth party candidates. NY has really arcane rules to limit the ballot choices to democrat/republican only. In order to get on the ballot a third party candidate must get 50,000 votes state wide or else they have to collect 50,000 signatures, which is just a game to get them to waste all their resources getting the signatures, so they can't pose any threat during the election.

And if I can't stand any option, like the last Presidential election, I simply leave the line empty.

That way I can still stand to look at myself in the mirror.

I do finf Romney very appealing, but yes, things like this do need to be vetted and then, said candidate looked at in the whole. No one is perfect, but we do need to see everything to know what we are getting.

I can only speculate as to the reasoning behind his signing that legislation as I am not from there nor did I follow that issue. Was the backing in the legislature so sure that a veto overide would have been in place before it got sent to the governor's desk? Just curious.

I know, a little bit of mental gymnastics to be able to stomach the least offending of unpalatable choices at the time (Obama or Dem-lite McCain). We do what we must to get through.

I can't tell you b/c it has been way too long since I have seen most of them and some of the harder to find ones, I have never seen.

The only 2 I have recently seen are
IT'S A GIFT
and it's silent predecessor
IT'S THE OLD ARMY GAME.

IT'S A GIFT is marvelous.

I need a FIELDS gift box for Christmas.

Sorry I couldn't be more help at the moment. :(
