Barack Obama Acted Stupidly in His Own Words
Clips from Obama's speeches from the campaign to the present.
Sadly, today Marilyn would be told she is too fat.
To everyone who is so flipping tired of seeing Marilyn Monroe's face and sad stories everywhere for the last 45 years and are sick of the overhype and commercialization which offers her over-exposed face on any piece of cloth or plastic that can sold to some sucker – and if you have not seen any or many of her films – take comfort only in the fact that legends are legends for a reason and as nauseating as the MM Marketing blitz has been – SHE WAS THE REEL DEAL! Her films, the good ones, are incredibly entertaining! I was amazed and a fairly recent convert.
GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES
THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH
NIAGRA
3 of her best (And I am leaving out SOME LIKE IT HOT b/c I do not think it is MM at her best, despite what you will read elsewhere.
And these films have such an authentic 1950s flavor to them (because they are from the 1950s) w/o any of that 'Happy Days' crap ever appearing.
Try them. It's like finding out that Judy Garland's really good films are really good after you have had to wade through all the boo-hoo stories and the hand-wringing about her 'horrible' life.
Just go for the show.
Emmett Tyrell's column on TH says Anita Dunn will be sporting new bus tire tread marks shortly. anybody know anything about this?
Want to see Marilyn in all her glory? The Prince and The Showgirl. I drool every time I see it. She is incredibly beautiful in this film. And naughty. Well, as naughty as they'd let them get on screen in the 50s.
Marilyn definitely had "it." A combination of sexiness and vulnerability that most actresses can't carry off today, because they're obsessed with acting like men. A man who looked at Marilyn wanted a) to take her to bed, but also b) to take care of and protect her. Made a man feel like a man.
lol..The passive-aggressive troll is back again I see. I thumbed everyone up again.
MM was a very beautiful/naive woman I believe and she let herself be used by every man who told her he couldn't live without her. She was the type of women that men wanted to "possess". I'm kind of glad I'm not that type.
Mmmm…. back when real women had curves…. to bad we can't have women that look like Marilyn Monroe around…. maybe then we wouldn't have so many body issues thanks to the Twiggy's of the world… :/
Young Marilyn = very much the real deal
Pre-suicide Marilyn = not so much
See her earlier movies.
In the meantime…..
THE REVOLUTION WILL BE APP'D
http://naturalfake.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/the-r...
Curves rock. As do tailfins. Why any man would want to be with a woman who has all the physical shape of a "ten-year-old boy with breasts" (Tom Wolfe, 2007) is beyond me.
But curves rock. Always have, always will. It's natural. And no amount of O-topia dreaming will ever change human nature.
Curves and tailfins. It doesn't get much better than that.
Niagara is a great movie. If you haven't seen it, rent it today!
Yeah, but unfortunatily in the age of air brushing, women don't really believe that….. and it won't matter how often a man tells her either….
I saw this piece after hearing it on a local show. WOW, I am surprised to see the left actually saying kind words for our last President. At least the truth is shining through, and the MSM is as clueless as ever.
http://hillbuzz.org/2009/11/10/thank-you-former-p...
I'm sure glad makeup styles have changed since that photo was taken.
MM …"IS"… the gold standard for beauty. I can remember going to the movies she was in and not even caring if she could act. I went to see Marilyn. Legends are Legends because they were and are Legendary…..like say a '57 Chevy…it was a classic when I saw it in the GM showroom, or like the 1911 Colt automatic pistol….
Nothing on Carrie Prejean on this site lately. Nothing, but crickets.
Such a fine, upstanding person representing the cause of traditional marriage.
+1 for mentioning tailfins.
+1 for mentioning the Colt 1911…
In my early morning haste, I left out the very funny and fun HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE.
"NIAGRA" didn't look correct when I did my post. Obviously, "NIAGARA" is the correct spelling.
Highly entertaining melodrama with Joseph Cotten and beautiful on location filming.
'Drama' was not her true forte, but she is more at ease here than in the decade later 'MISFITS".
Best scene in NIAGARA – where she is outside of her cabin at the motor court and she is singing along to a recording of the song "Kiss" (?). One kid tells her it's a great song and she replies "It's the only song" which is all too much for cuckolded husband Joe Cotten who stalks out, grabs the record from the phonograph, smashes it and walks back into their cabin. Hahaha. Great!
She looks god in Michelin Hydro-Edge(tm).
Sorry that's "good".
This scene kills me! She's basically on Tommy Noonan's lap singing to him and his reactions are priceless.
And her! – you don't learn moves like that. They come to you naturally.
Sex, magic and humor all at once. And fun.
"Bye Bye Baby" from GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES"

*extra credit if you spot 50s TV super-icon in the background.
If Congress can MAKE YOU buy healthcare then they can also make you buy 10 lbs of porkchops every week.
I normally reject conspricies, but I think someone killed her…
Wow! What a beauty!
Flame me if you must, but I am one of the outcasts who believe Ms. Monroe is slightly overrated. I don't think she was capable of carrying a film, but when she was part of a good ensemble like in How To Marry a Millionaire, Niagra, or Some Like it Hot, she was at her best playing off more talented actors.
The pathetic stories of her Dickensian childhood do get tiresome especially when compared with those of others that make hers look like a Sunday School picnic. Clara Bow, John Gilbert, Joan Crawford are a few professionals that had horrific childhood experiences, yet didn't use it as an excuse for unprofessional behavior. Also, Marilyn used men as much as they used her. She used the married super agent Johnny Hyde to further her career and to pay for some face altering surgery in the bargain. A big part of the Marilyn legend derives from an unexpected death surrounded mysterious circumstances.
Finally, Marilyn's looks seem artificial compared to the natural beauty of Ava Gardner, Maureen O'Hara, and Rita Hayworth.
Those blankety-blank Kennedys!!
According to Drudge yesterday, she's packing up her desk.
Which really means nothing more then her doing the same job for the administration, just on the outside.
Jealous !
Color me skeptical, but there's something fishy with that. Perhaps trying to position Clinton for a 2011 primary?
More like 10 lbs. of arugula. Obesity increases health care spending you know.
she shows some pretty good comedic chops in that one.
you mean i'd have to cut back? mmm, pork chops…
What's that dead junkie doing up there?
So the cancellation axe falls on Kelsey Grammar's "Hank" along with "Dollhouse" and "Eastwick." Was anyone watching any of them? I see "V" took a bit hit in week 2 as well. And did anyone see last night's South Park? The opening struck me as in extremely questionable taste given recent events, but overall a pretty funny ep.
Jealous of Monroe as opposed to Gardner, O'Hara, and Hayworth? Whut you smokin' Willis?
What do you want…to see her in stocks wearing a scarlet "M"?
.
10 lbs? I'm not ever cutting back on my weekly porkchops!
They will have to pry these greasy porkchop bones from cold, dead hands!
Make that 10 lbs. of iceberg lettuce imported from Mexico. Quality ain't a government priority.
If Brittany Spears wasnt such a mental mess, she could have picked up the torch from Marilyn. She resembles Marilyn. She once did a fake Esquire magazine cover portraying Angie Dickinson from back in the 60s and it was quite good. Put Spears in the make-up and clothes of the 50s she could pull it off. She could make comedy movies, instead of tramping around all the bars and nightclubs with all those losers. She also might think about being a good Mother to her children.
I thought it was Bush
/sarc
Loved the Cartman "ec" logo on the back screen. Trey and Matt are equal opportunity slammers. That's why I have been watching them since the beginning. And continue to do so.
This really sucks !!
ACORN sues over funding cut
A non-profit organization filed a lawsuit against the federal government Thursday morning, seeking to overturn a law stopping the flow of federal funds to ACORN.
The suit, filed in federal court in New York, claims that bills passed by the House and Senate to defund the group qualify as bills of attainder, legislation that unfairly targets one group. Such bills are unconstitutional
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29436.h...
/Now there are concerned about the constitution ?
/spit !
ACORN is biting the hand that feeds them
I bet Hussein Obama advised them to sue
I'm glad MM was born when she was. If she came along today, she wouldn't have gotten a gig — way too shapely (we get Keira Knightly instead), and no grotesque facial features (see Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, etc.).
Thanks for the delicious photo!
(sorry for the guest post – twitter login didn't fly.)
Breaking: Hasan wired money to Pakistan?
This would appear to indicate that Nidal Hasan was something other than a loner who cracked under the strain of vicarious PTSD. The man who made a $90,000 annual salary but lived like a pauper may have sent money to Pakistan, according to Rep. Pete Hoekstra:
If prosecutors can prove that Hasan sent money to jihadists in Pakistan, charges of treason become a lot more likely. It would also force the government to consider this a planned terrorist attack, which they have been reluctant so far to conclude.

love all those films. She was a great talent – not just boobs and booty.
she's just changing addresses, the same crap will eminate from her consulting firm, an arm of the criminal organization also known as the Democrat party.
They must think it's time to give that quaint old document some room to live and breathe.
Wow. I'm stunned. That's an amazing piece. Thank you for the link.
That would be great. Clinton should resign soon and begin bashing this fraud we stuck with. He played dirty in the Iowa caucuses and Hill has a right to be "disloyal".
Funny, loyalty isn't what leaps to mind when I picture the Clintons.
Yeah, but if she came today she might have been a) shamed into legit rehab and thus lived to a ripe old age or b) exploited into a reality disgrace a la Anna Nicole Smith and died too young anyway. No matter when she was born she'd still be the emotionally ravaged Norma Jean.
Maybe she's being re-assigned. You know, like Yosi Sargent was.
Shake N Bake is your friend.
I think she's going back to her multi-million dollar PR firm, where she'll continue to propagandize for the administration.
ya, that's true. They got "out sharked" by the Chicago faction of the Democrat mafia!
The bodies will be floating to the surface anytime now. 0bama is one slick criminal.
Over the course of 2008, Spears managed to get through rehab, put out a new album, and get her head screwed back on straight – to the point of actually saying "WTF was I thinking??". I'm not a fan of hers, but I admire the fact that she turned back from the dark side.
A lot of these young "celebrities" are surrounded by yes-men who are more interested in the perks of working with the "star" instead of telling them what they need to hear: "No, you're NOT going partying tonight – you need to stay at home with your kids!" Here's hoping they get life coaches before the drinking and the drugs do real, permanent damage.
Right. Like I said.
What I still don't understand, though, is how all the red flags on his mental behavior from his evaluations at the military medical school (poor grades, religious rants, fascination with other fratricides) didn't send up immediate red flags about his general state before he was transferred to Ft. Hood. This guy was pegged by other psychiatrists as being not all there. Between those factors and the security issues, what does it take to get someone pulled from duty?
And too FLAT. She would be advised to get implants.
Cool story! My sister and her friend drove down to NY City the other day to attend the christening of the new USS New York and visit the Intrepid museum. Turns out she graduated from the same high school has the commander did.
She said she was walking up the gang plank, he was walking down and she yelled out the school name. He stopped dead in his tracks looks at her and says "what?" She replied "Chenango Valley class of 75."
She said he got a big smile on his face, stuck out his hand to shake and said "Chenango Valley class of 83, welcome aboard the USS New York!"
She got tons of pictures, awesome looking tool for our sea going peace keepers!
Part 1: The news today is saying the other psychiatrists and psychiatric supervisor doctors even suspected him of being "psychotic." That they would "not want to be in a foxhole with Nidal Hasan." That they met monthly, over the course of a year, and he was a frequent topic. However, the news also says the higher ups at Walter Reed had not shared with them the news they had received as to his contacting terrorist people. I suspect that if they had, the outcome would have been different. Further, the source said it is very difficult to "fire" a doctor, and, since they (excluding the top Walter Reed people and intelligence agencies) did not have hard proof, that their firing him would look discriminatory, due to his religion and/or ethnicity.
Part 2: They recommended sending him to Ft. Hood, where other doctors could take up the slack, as his performance was "mediocre" and "lazy." Also said his supervisors there could continue monitoring him closely. I think, without the hard proof that was denied them, they were hoping his own incompetence would lead to a way to dismiss him from his position. Those who had, or were informed of, his contacts with terrorists and did not proceed appropriately with that information, should be held to account. It is beyond sad that Ft. Hood, due to its size, was saddled with such a person. And that political correctness has, once again, endangered this nation.
Love Kelsey Grammar. Love that he, along with Patricia Richardson, is a Conservative. Tried to give "Hank" a fair trial. After several episodes, finally quit DVRing it. Did not expect to like "The Middle" at all. Because of the parent/child relationship, exaggerated for humor, is so true to real life, we are still watching it. Tried, Courtney Cox's Cougar show. Watched once. Quit.
OK All you Racist , Islamophobic ,Homophobic ,Teabaggers !!
You all keep complaing about the government spending so much and driving up the national debt !
Now you can do something about it; !
Worried about U.S. debt? Send your donation here
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Not sure what to give Uncle Sam this Christmas? How about a nice, fat check to help whittle away at the $7.6 trillion national debt?
The U.S. Treasury Department accepts gifts, payable to the Bureau of the Public Debt. Just mail them to the attention of Department G, Post Office Box 2188, Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26106-2188. Make a note in the memo section that it is a gift to reduce the debt held by the public .
Yes, really

Lovely, lovely Marilyn.
The Casey Miller kid had me in stiches! What a great impression of Casey Casem! (sp?)
I don't think so. What ever talent she may have hasn't been enough to get her out of the pop music scene and lip-synching 'concerts'.
thanks LB – always happy to get your recommendations!
I'd prefer bacon.
that's the left's standard MO (think ACLU). they wrap themselves up in the Constitution when it suits their purposes, which also ensures they have a ready supply of toilet paper whenever it doesn't…
I saw this: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/it... on Drudge. It is a story on a canvassing snafu that called the election for Owens and not Hoffman in NY 23rd congressional dist. seat.
And then there was a Sat. quicky vote on healthcare on Sat. Hmmmm

I was watching in interview on TCM with Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell. I didn't know Marilyn suffered from agoraphobia. They said she would hide in her dressing room, scared to death, until someone coaxed her onto the set.
That is called passing the trash.
That IS a cool story. I hope your sis got to have some fun in a simulator while she was at the museum!
Nothing to see here folks
Move along
/this is the norm now for all elections
I don't need to send them a check. Uncle Sam is thoughtful enough to take it out of my check before I even see it.
So thoughtful of the them.
Don't be so sure on this one. If I understand it correctly there a lot more going on here.
What I've heard is NY has not certified the election results yet, they're doing absentee ballots next week. But he was already sworn into Congress, and he's one of those couple of votes that passed the health care socialization mess.
That certainly smells illegal to me. How can Congress recognize him as a member for the state validates he is the representative?
I don't know if any Congressman on the right is willing to push this, but this certainly smells like impeachment for the speaker.
She was afraid of angora sweaters?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
But don't be selfish !
Give till it bleeds
Mortage your house and send it to the .gov
Skip three meals a week and send the money in
And about that Tithing….Obama can spend it better than all the churches
Get with the program

….."I don't know if any Congressman on the right is willing to push this, but this certainly smells like impeachment for the speaker. "
Wooohooo
I hope you are right
And the bill would be null huh ?
Wooohooo !
OK, I have to come clean here. I don't think she's attractive. I see her really as the opposite of Grace Kelly. Where Kelly was gorgeous and refined, Norma Jean was homely and rather crude.
*runs for cover*
I already do that now.
Yeah, I just found the very long opening gag about the innocent kid being shot by a crazed killer a little uncomfortable after Ft. Hood. Not the show's fault, of course, just bad timing for its' airing.
I gotta say..if you're gonna take your mike off, you have GOT to follow through and immediately storm off the set. As soon as they cut to the wide shot of her alone in the remote studio…unintentional hilarity.
That's exactly what I mean. I have no idea what it means. If you have a republican rep, get them this info and quick.
If in fact NY does eventually certify the dem, I think the entire issue goes away. So there's not a lot of time to rise the issue of an certified congressman being sworn in.
Spread the word anywhere you can. I might be wrong, but the local news is covering NY-23 failry heavy, and this is what I'm reading now.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/12/owenshof...
"After last week's election, Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman conceded and Democrat Bill Owens was sworn in."
NY has not certified the election results, and he was sworn in anyway, and he voted on socialized medicine.
Spread the word.
That's god (little g) — like the 'gods' of bad karma — and 'good' both at the same time.
Anything, as long as she packs up her 'little red book' of Mao sayings.
If she comes back like a vampire in the night, someone, somewhere is sure to find out.
and a spray on tan and some tattoos
She doesn't have to. This administration is so intertwined with these businesses and organizations, all she's really losing is the clout of a White House business address. That and she can stop hiding the money she's making from the PR firm.
Nothing is going to change.
Happy to oblige. Classic films and great music have always been my passion and my downfall. If I am remembered for anything it will be as someone who shared his 'pop' passions just for the pleasure of sharing.
There's often a symbiosis there – empowered and/or older guy gets the younger hottie; hottie gets the guidance and support of the man. Each gives and takes and then they part. Fair deal as far as I can see.
She jerked off on video for her lowlife boyfriend.
Does that negate any and all she has ever done or believed?
There's an agenda behind her condemnation far removed from her soft stroke flicker.
Exactly–my point is how does a man, not only bad at his job but clearly nuts as well, keep his job in the first place?? I wouldn't last out the week.
You would if you were in Civil Service. Now, apply all that to government-run healthcare… Are you sweating yet?
Political Correctness gone awry

She is very attractive
Just not the kinda girl you take home to meet the folks
Maybe thats why she appeals to so many men
A bad girl that can't say no

smellyfinger says "If Congress can MAKE YOU buy healthcare then they can also make you buy 10 lbs of porkchops every week."
Obviously! They certainly don't have a problem selling millions of pounds of B.S. to people every day.
Don't worry, I've sanitized it. I've come from that sewer, I know my way around.
Here's the meat.
"After last week's election, Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman conceded and Democrat Bill Owens was sworn in."
Notice it does not say NY State did not certify the results, and then he was sworn in. This is the exact same issue that kept that thief Franken out of the senate for months. Minnesota wouldn't certify the election.
Neither did NY. But he's casting votes anyway.
Watched Kelsey Grammar but knew the show was going nowhere. Very paint by numbers scripts.
The Ratner family is not a non-profit by any means. Their Center is a tax-dodge to represent their interests. Their legal action raises the suspicion (paranoid/racist of course) that ACORN has been scratching the Ratners all along.
Lets "HOPE" someone goes to jail for a "CHANGE"
Ah Norma Jean – "…Happy birthday Mister President…"; bad girl, bad, but you know, I really have to give JFK some slack on that one…
I agree with you on Niagara. It's been on TCM a few times.
Love, love, love that movie! MM in cat-eyed glasses–Meeyow!
Ed, I read that piece yesterday on Lucianne.com, and color me skeptical too. Why I don't rightly know.
But this isn't the first time the military has overlooked a mentally ill soldier (the guys seems from what I've read to be genuinely crazy, not just terrorist-crazy). Wasn't the last mass shooter on a base also diagnosed as severely ill, but unfortunately was able to get a weapon? (as I recall he _wasn't_ a muslim)
My fave is the psycho thriller "Don't Bother to Knock" with Richard Widmark and Anne Bancroft. Really good '52 flick with all actors at their best. (But really, were RW and AB EVER not excellent)? Interesting that early on MM did some pretty heavy duty roles and showed real ability. I also am more moved by her performance in the stagey "Bus Stop" than in the wide eyed pig tailed prancing about she passed off as vulnerability in "Misfits". (I wouldn't come out of my trailer either if I had to be in crapfests like that one). As a kid I liked "River of No Return" with MItchum for it's scenery and rough hewn romance, as unlikely as MM's casting is as a 19th century woman was — to even my own little girl eyes and sensibilities. (The worst casting ever for a 19th century woman had to be Shirley MacClaine in "Two Mules for Sister Sara". Her costars were Clint Eastwood, a nun's habit and the biggest fuller brush false eyelashes you can imagine).
Your handle should be "Magoo."
Chilling…
The E.coli is free.
How could you leave off Some Like It Hot ???
I agree with your choice of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, an absolutely perfect date movie.
For some reason Seven Year Itch doesn't work for me. I just added Niagara (love your Freudian misspelling!) to my Netflix queue.
That's a good one.
I heard that Hillary Clinton's days are numbered as Sec of State.
Anyone else read or heard that?
Yes, I said I heard.
I agree with everything except the first statement.
I must be too family orientated for the general american. If one can't bring a girl home to meet the parents, what's the point? (Other than the obvious.
However if a person only has that goal in life, that person has a shallow existence indeed.)
So really, I guess that says quite a bit about some who like her. Interesting.
And of course to bring a bit more to this than simply her appearance, let's also face the reality that she wasn't exactly the best actress on the planet. That is if anyone was paying attention to her acting at all.
Perhaps counseling from Ed Wood could have helped the poor girl…
With her wardrobe? HA!
Heh, I agree about Grace Kelly but would place Bette Davis as the opposite of Marilyn. Hedy Lamarr is tops, though.
WTF did she see in that horrible Aurther Miller. Nasty left wing dude who abandoned
his handicapped child.
Obama really is a muslim http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=tCAffMSWSzY#...
Norma Jean is the epitome of "old Hollywood": Sexy, glamorous, talented, beautiful, classy, vulnerable.
I think it is a clumsy film in spots and Monroe is not at her best and looks fat and unappealing even when showing plenty boobage. I like the film, but, for me, it would barely inch into the top five. Even less grandoise efforts like NIAGARA hang together better for MM….and the black and white photography does her a disservice. It's harsh looking.
Just my opinion – plus the closing line by Joe E. Brown (a forgotten comic genius) – I dont understand why people think it is sooooo funny.
I can guarantee you they won't consider a revote or backing off. The US Supreme's wouldn't consider it for a moment either, considering the things they've let by the past ten years.
Hoffman should not have conceded when he did. I saw it and I knew it, but who am I? This is going to get nasty next year, especially if we have a big push from goooh folks and others. The dems are in it for their livlihood, and the right will have to be too.
No, agora sweaters.
Hollywood types are always attracted to depressed liberals. It helps them imagine they are having actual feelings. You know, the mannequin syndrome, Pinocchio wanting to be real.
Classy? No, I don't think so. And only modestly talented, IMO.
I agree with you wholeheartedly – Grace was my ideal. She blew away MM.
Five years ago I would have agreed with you on this. But we have a much different Supreme Court with Roberts and Alito. They've already slapped back government over the second amendment.
I don't see them backing down from this either. But the key is some one who's been aggrieved has to file a law suit, and it has to make all the way to them, and they have to choose to accept it. That takes years. If Hoffman does win the absentee ballots, he's been wronged, and there's your case.
