If Voight is such a conservative, why does he keep taking TV and movie roles that trash them? He seems to be typecast now as the evil white conservative Congressman or corporate CEO. Most recently, as the head of a military contracting company, he was the arch-villain in last season's "24" plotting to murder 10's of thousands of Americans with biological weapons to incite a war against innocent peace-loving Muslim countries.

LOL!!! Voight the loony has not made one substantive argument with facts. Not one. He calls Obama names and that's it. Calls him a socialist. Calls him a radical. On and on. Not one single argument with facts to back it up.

Voight is a loser just like the loser Republicans we will now keep permanently out of office. Republicans are as finished as loser Jon Voight's film career. Go check out his recent films listed on imdb.com. NONE!!! Not one film since 2008 and nothing at all on the horizon. Voight's a loser. A big fat has-been loser whose own daughter hates him.

Very courageous and compelling guy. If the left would argue ideas they might get a bit of respect. I guess they know there is no way to actually defend their positions with logic so all they have left is name calling and humiliating people for past indiscretions. It is funny how the party of Jim McGreavey wants to take the risk of looking into peoples past sins.

Yeah Ken it does appear that Jon is off the Hollywood lefty/lib reservation, and when one does, they are in for a world of retribution, and attacks. I for one have a new found respect for the actor.

Unfortunately for the Left, Mr. Voight has an Oscar to his name (along with multiple nominations), so they can't go to the "he's a terrible actor card". Instead, they have to go to the less powerful "he's a has-been card".

It's astonishing how quickly Hollywood thinks you lose your talent when your politics don't agree with them.

Jon Voight! So glad when I heard about this.

By the way, I know Jon's movie 'Deliverance' is notoriously remembered for only one graphic scene, but does anyone else agree that it is an incredibly awesome suspense movie? The first time I saw it, I'd never watched a movie where I was more on edge about the survival and escape of the protagonists. I was screaming at Ed Gentry (Voight's character) to get the heck out of Aintry and go home to safety. This site should do a piece on that movie. Best thing I've ever seen any of the main actors in–Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight especially.

Not to mention the book–Superb. Instant top 10 I've ever read. James Dickey was a genius; read it and see.
