“Shortly after Jon Voight addressed health care protesters on Capitol Hill last week, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs dismissed the event by saying rather glibly, ‘I’m sure there’s a Jon Voight joke in here somewhere, given he was one of the featured speakers.’
“Over the weekend, when a clip of Voight was played on ‘The Week with George Stephanopoulos,’ where the actor asked of Obama, ‘Could it be he has had 20 years of subconscious programming by Reverend Wright to damn America?’ Cokie Roberts called it a ‘cringemaking’ moment. …
“When I asked about the criticism of his speech, Voight said, ‘Listen, there’s no telling what people will say.’
“What concerned him, he says, was the notion that the protesters on Capitol Hill were being dismissed by some lawmakers. ‘It is unfortunate that people will not take seriously the response of informed citizens.’
“Of his own remarks, he said, ‘They are not taking me on in any substantive way. They are not taking on the issues I am raising. They are simply making slurs and joke or and saying I am crazy.
“‘I don’t have a lot of respect for that stuff. They want to dismiss me, just like they want to dismiss the Tea Party people.’”

He certainly tells it like it is, and he's right. This administration and it's supporters are too cowardly to address the specific issues.

When you consider that the left sees people like Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn as perfectly legitimate spokespeople for their side– you know you're not dealing with people who put much stock in things like logic and credibility. I'll take Mr. Voight any day.
Typical of leftist responses. Sarah Palin accuses Obama of hanging out with terrorists like Bill Ayers. The media focuses on the "I can see Russia from my house" thing. Joe Wurzelbacher gets Obama to admit he wants to redistribute wealth. The media decides to examine whether or not Joe is in fact a plumber, rather than what Obama wants to do with the economy. Millions of people get together for the Tea Party protests. Anderson Cooper and Co. make fun of them for calling themselves "teabaggers" (not that anyone I know actually described themselves that way). And now this. Every day, more and more people are realizing how irrelevant the MSM truly is.
"Some lawmakers" weren't the only ones who dismissed protesters on Capitol Hill. They were also dismissed by the President of the United States who referred to them as "teabag people," "anti-government" and "extremists" while trying to rally Blue Dog support for his healthcare reform bill. How's that for a bipartisan President who promised to unite America?

It was comedienne Tina Fey during an SNL impersonation of Sarah Palin that said "I can see Russia from my house". Conservatives are now mocked for things liberals say as well.

The left cannot argue points. The truth is on the side of the conservative. How can you argue against the truth. The only thing left to do is deride and name call.
I just had to mention something here that infuriates me whenever the subject of Palin comes up in my circle of NYC liberal friends.
Often times they state that their hatred of her comes from her being so stupid. I ask how is she stupid? Their inevitable reply is that she said, "I can see Russia from my house". I have to tell them every time that it was Tina Fey making fun of Palin after she made a perfectly legitimate statement when asked by a reporter what her credentials are when dealing with other countries. Her reply was that as governor of Alaska, she has the largest state border with a foreign country (Alaska) and you can even see Russia from the Westernmost Alaskan islands. Nevertheless, give it a few weeks, and they are making the same stupid statements all over again. As has been said, if you repeat the lie often enough…
Obama and his jack boot cronies got nothing except disinformation and fraud. You can tell when they can only slur and demean the messenger. The Obama crowd don't want to debate, just lie out their collective azzes to cover their azzes. The state media obamabots are in lock step and take their queue from Der Fuher. Well, I went to Washington DC for the rally with my sister, niece and a friend. When we heard Jon Voight would be speaking we were looking forward to hear what he had to say. They can only ignore you for so long.
The best part, 20,000 people chanting "Nan-cy" and "Har-ry". Loved it. That and "Can you hear us now?"

Hi Dave, I have been at this for many years trying to get my film out to the public. I made a film that pays tribute to our Vietnam Vets after Hollywood spent decades spitting on them on film. Since I made them look like heroes they made sure this little nothing of an indie film would get picked up and go through the system. Even though I got multiple screenings and sit downs with the heads of the major film studios. This is a twenty year battle because they couldn't steal my film as they have to so many of my friend's films in the 90s, I refuse to walk away and re-create the same problem again. I felt it is better to keep this one project until I can hit a nerve with the public. FORGOTTEN HEROES is a film that honors our Vietnam Vets and even President Bush saw my film and sent me a letter which I have on my site. I intend to shove this film down the throat of Hollywood all I need is a PR platform to get the word out there on a national level. I am doing this on internet radio and seeing some great results. I hope my film will get on your list of films you want to see and tell other people about who are FED up with the crap coming out of Hollywood.

I met Jon at a social event 3 weeks ago and after waiting for others to have their photos taken with him I thanked him for how he is voicing his concerns regarding the take over of our country by socialists. He looked at me for a second and said "Wow, I really appreciate that". He is a sincere honest conservative who cares and can be a great help in getting our country back on the right track.

I like to see a conservative in Hollywood now and again…that’s true diversity. But when Voight is making conspiratorial statements about Rev. Wright and Obama then he is reducing himself to the very slurs he is criticizing.

Yeah, he actually did. "1984" is a good book that I need to re-read sometime. He showed how oppressors would use words creatively like the "Free Press Act" would actually be an act to remove freedom. He also showed how they would perform misdirections– getting the masses to focus on the unimportant while they quietly added another chain around the neck of the people. "1984" is where the term "Ignorance is bliss" comes from.

I consider Jon Voight a partiot and find it an honor to have him speak on behalf of those of us who have no podium. Lead on Jon Voight and millions will listen and follow. By the way, I know Jon's movie 'Deliverance' is notoriously remembered for only one graphic scene, but does anyone else agree that it is an incredibly awesome suspense movie? The first time I saw it, I'd never watched a movie where I was more on edge about the survival and escape of the protagonists. I was screaming at Ed Gentry (Voight's character) to get the heck out of Aintry and go home to safety. This site should do a piece on that movie. Best thing I've ever seen any of the main actors in–Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight especially.
Not to mention the book–Superb. Instant top 10 I've ever read. James Dickey was a genius; read it and see.
