I saw one sign that stood out among the many at one of the tea parties. After this betrayal, that sign's sentiment may for many of these professional politicians become way too real.
I could easily write for hours the vile and disgusting names that apply to Pelosi, but it would be a total waste of energy.
Instead, that vile, disgusting, lying wretch of a woman, and her 219 toadies that voted with her, need to be removed from office as soon as legally possible, and replaced with people that truly care about the future of the United States of America and not about their own self-important, self-serving petty egos as quickly as possible, and reverse this hideously obscene legislation.
What a complete and utter dungheap this congress has proven itself to be with this latest middle-of-the-night, closed-door, under-the-table "manure-ing"!

the horrible part is that 2010 is waaaaaaayyyyyy too long away. So much damage can be done in such a small amount of time…it only a few hours for 20 psychos to destroy 3000+ lives…..I weep for my country and am in despair for what will be left to my children and where is there to run to? Republicans…..err. I'm sorry to say, but we could have defeated this. But the Ellsworth-Stupak amendment made this more palatable to socially conservative Dem's from red states. If not for that, I'm thinking at least three yea's become nays. Dems used abortion as cover, slightly weaken the bill on federal funding of abortion (actually the amendment is very weak) give social conservative Dem's cover, and the Rep's walk right into supporting the amendment. When is the GOP going to learn. Vote NO on the amendment, because you are also going to vote NO on the bill.
the government will be selling insurance policies that are more expensive than private firms? did i read this right? if this is true than what is the point of all this? NO long term forecast of government red ink, but they can predict that this will reduce the fed deficit by $100 billion over the next 10 years??? HOW? was this prediction made before costs went from under $900 billion to over $1.2 trillion? as if $1.2 is accurate; should i multiply that by 2,3, or 4 for the real cost? and all this with 2 key cost-cutting provisions removed from consideration. other than voting people out, how can we hit back at these morons?
There's no doubt about getting played. But Republicans just don't know what game is on. Dem's are playing chess, thinking ten moves out, Rep's are playing checkers, and probably would lose to a ten year old. In general, I agree with the GOP in principle of limited government, politically speaking however, they are not all that bright, because they can't envision the Dem's goals and positioning.
We must capture this seeting anger and hold onto it for a year. This current crop of socialists and criminals that make up our congress are there because for many years, the majority of us were asleep at the switch. We failed to realize that we were on this path because we were caught up in the good life, of raising families and enjoying the prosperity that our leaders now want to destroy. In a year, if we still have this anger and do not descend into apathetic indifference, we can vote the bums out and start the process of recovery.
You are right about it being small consolation, but it will be interesting to see how soon they shed the rose colored glasses. Libs place unbounded faith in the government, despite overwhelming historical evidence, but they always eventually rage against the individual agencies because those agencies are staffed by humans, imperfect humans, and government bureaucrats at that. It will not be long before Obama-care's biggest champions are squeeling like stuck pigs at the inefficiency, the incompetence, in short, the government. Unless you are something like a Mikey Moore, we will all have the same crappy health care.

Make your choice on what to do… If you are registered Republican, overload the local offices, go to the local offices once a week to ask for help on any issue you can think of… social security, clarification on health care vote, getting information on family military records or protest (video tape as you are able)
If you are registered independent, volunteer in the local Dems office or campaign effort, gather any information you can and document everything. Join Acorn to register votes, through away Democrat and send in the Republican. Proudly parrot far out left wing talking points and go over board from time to time, and record local private meetings. Gather lists of non fake voters and forward that list to the Republican. Get involved with the local government voting registrar and make sure registrants are legit. Now the laws and make sure EVERYONE lives up to the letter of the law. Push early and often to prosecute ANYone that is not completely accurate. If any one challenges your efforts, press to prosecute them. KNOW the LAW — USE THE LAW. MAke the other side live up to ever letter, jot and tidle OF THE LAW!!! Video tape what is going on, have one or two others video tape (wide angle) what is going on around you. Get names, get a volunteer lawyer willing to file suits for anything and everything and have fun…
REmember, Monday is the beginning of the end for LibTotalitarians… and the return of FREEDOM!!!!

I would like to point out that maybe the people who opposed Kennedy were on to something. OK not with Kennedy, but their worry that Kennedy would be more allegiant to the church than to his country and would do the bidding of the church.
Maybe that is something that the armed forces should consider with their recruits. They cannot just say that religion does not matter when clearly some will be acting out against us in the name of their religion. In the name of political correctness we shut off common sense. We will never learn. Why are any of us shocked that this has happened? I am shocked that we have such fools at the helm. I know, it´s not really news. Unfortuntely no one can shake sense into the American media. They are rotten and degenerate. They can only be improved by deadly fear or bankruptcy. I´m already not giving them any money and I don´t know how to put the hurt on them, but it would be a good idea.

What's needed is publicity which the propaganda media will never give us because that would entice millions of people to join the cause. How many people voted for John McCain? Socialized health care works great for physical exams and until and unless you get really sick. Then you're toast. National health care is rationed care. But it has a perverse rationality. Social Security is going bankrupt in record speed. How to addess that third rail of politics? You can't. Tell the oldsters you're going to take their Social Security away and they turn into raging pit bulls. BUT – put them in a long queue for health care and a good many of them will kick the bucket before their turn to see the specialist arrives.
End of problem. I wrote about this in 1992 when Hillary was trying to accomplish the same thing. The article appeared in Liberty Magazine under the title "Stealth Health". Don't know if it's still available.
Full disclosure. I am Pro Choice. (Don't bother flaming me; I'm asbestos). I concur with the statement of a friend of mine, a very devout Christian: "Abortion is a sin, not a crime."
That said, if anyone thinks abortion will not be covered in the health care bill should it pass, I have a bridge to sell them. Abortion, however distasteful to most, is a legal procedure according to the SCOTUS. The first time a Government run plan refuses this procedure, the lawyers will be out in full force and denial of same will be considered unconstitutional and a deprivation of the rights of women. So those Dems who CLAIMED they were for a ban on abortion in the bill were selling those who believed them a pig in the poke. It was just cover, that's all.
It has been a while since I have posted anything here, but I have been to the site. Today I was checking in to see the reaction to the Universal Death Star Care vote, and a message popped up on the computer that Big Hollywood contains harmful malware on it's site and did I want to continue to visit the site. I had to press 3 times the "Continue" option on my screen. There was also something about Google. Now I am not a member of the tinfoil hat wearing brigade, but I have never had this happen in all the time I have been to Big Hollywood. I did not know who to contact so whomever is monitoring this site might want to investigate why this message would pop up, and then to offer a re-route option to my computer elsewhere. Just as an added bit of info I have an Apple and not to worried about the malware message. I smell a rat in the wide, wide world of Google or the net.
I hope everyone is ready to go to war with the Senate. Most people thought the bill would pass in the House, but we have to really pressure the power loving morons in the Senate. There are a lot of RINOS or DIABLOS in the Senate and they need to know we will bring them home right along with the House members who voted for this behemoth.
And since President Chutes&Ladders does not seem to get the historical reference to the word "tea" in "teaparty" folks and has called us "teabags", well someone needs to give the dude a history book and stat. We the People, we of the red, white and blue, WE do not cotton having our ELECTED representatives voting AGAINST the will and loud voices of the populous. No teabag likes to be ignored. Note to President Shout Out, sticks and stones may break out bones, but names shall never hurt us. And as Dennis Miller so eloquently said, "Obama's coat tails are like the coat tails of a naked midget!" We "teabags" are going to show all that there is no mandate for a Marxist America, or for a Congress to big for their britches. "Can you hear us now!" mantra from now and come 2010! I grew up in Houston, and haven't followed the NFL closely since Bud Adams moved the team. At least Goodell has a hot wife.
As a lefty, I'll stand with the Republicans and the 39 (or whatever it was) Dems who voted against this bill. What a horrible excuse for "reform." I know that most conservatives see this thing as some sort of commie governmental takeover, but the reality is that this is a totally watered-down bill that will only entrench the power of the insurance companies deeper.. they've set up a built-to-fail public option that will disappear from the screen once people find out that it is more expensive than private options…. they've acquiesced to the anti-choice crowd (yes, I'm completely pro-choice, so flame away if you must), but what blows me away is that they WILL fund christian scientists who want to spend money to pray away their cancer, etc.. If this bill came from the Republicans, I wouldn't flinch at all, but these are Dems! They are supposed to represent the left! Just another example of how weak-kneed this congress is… even if most people here at Breitbart think we are one sneeze away from becoming red China. Guess again.
Well, of course, the biggest corporations always manage to find some benefits under statist societies, whether or not they go on making anything useful. Think Lada under the Soviets, or Farben under the Nazis.

And if the power doesn't still have the name corporations, it will be the same people, all now government bigwigs, and probably sectored up just about the way those corporations are now. I don't like giant corporate monopolies any better than the left, I just don't see a government monopoly as an improvement.
There was a time when those corporations did great research – think Bell Labs, think IBM – but as they got controlled more and more by Wall Street, and greenmailed out of holding onto earnings to reinvest, most of the big old corporations lost their enterprising spirit and got in bed with government as a major source of research money. We need some massive redistribution of power, but giving it all to government is the worst solution possible. Can you say mafia, anyone? Pay to play? Fascism?
Oh and does anyone think all those university philosophy and "journalism" professors are impartial observers of the business world? The kind of people who universally despise people who through luck, ambition or hard non-academic work make it in the big wide world outside the government/school nursery?
TCM just finished showing Capicorn One, and smarmy goateed douchebag Ben Mankiewicz came on afterward and did some gratuitous Bush-bashing.
Capicorn One was a product of its time, he explained. After Vietnam and especially Watergate, the American public, he claimed, was ready to believe that the government could and would lie to them (ala the faked Mars landing of the film).
"Let's be frank," he followed up, "after the last 8 years [they'd probably believe it now, too]" to explain why the film is currently being remade.
It never occurs to him that a more likely reason the film is being developed for a remake now is that it often seems like at least half of all new movies are remakes. No, no, it's Bush's fault. For lying about something, apparently.
Every year our local paper calls to ask us to try them again. I get a small but of satisfaction telling them we do longer need it since the bird died and we use bags to pick up the dog poop. The glow of saying that lasts for the better part of the day and perhaps a few flashed of happiness for the next couple days. And of course the happiness in telling it here.
You learn to get by on the cheaper thrills in life in a complete crap economy.

funny, I was just at Griffith observatory today with my kids and they asked my who's statue that was.
Too funny! Took them long enough to put it up, but it's kinda fugly, IMHO. I love that place…when I exercise, I do the hike from Fern Dell up to the top of Mt. Hollywood, past the Observatory. Just a gorgeous old structure, and the Observatory exhibits are fun as well. Adore the frescoes(?) surrounding the pendulum in the lobby.
Make no mistake. What took place at Fort Hood this past week was a terrorist attack. No different than the attack on 11 September 2001, only with less victims, by the grace of God.

If not for that, I'm thinking at least three yea's become nays. Dems used abortion as cover, slightly weaken the bill on federal funding of abortion (actually the amendment is very weak) give social conservative Dem's cover, and the Rep's walk right into supporting the amendment. When is the GOP going to learn. Vote NO on the amendment, because you are also going to vote NO on the bill.

There's no doubt about getting played. But Republicans just don't know what game is on. Dem's are playing chess, thinking ten moves out, Rep's are playing checkers, and probably would lose to a ten year old. In general, I agree with the GOP in principle of limited government, politically speaking however, they are not all that bright, because they can't envision the Dem's goals and positioning.
We must capture this seeting anger and hold onto it for a year. This current crop of socialists and criminals that make up our congress are there because for many years, the majority of us were asleep at the switch. We failed to realize that we were on this path because we were caught up in the good life, of raising families and enjoying the prosperity that our leaders now want to destroy. Gather lists of non fake voters and forward that list to the Republican. Get involved with the local government voting registrar and make sure registrants are legit. Now the laws and make sure EVERYONE lives up to the letter of the law. Push early and often to prosecute ANYone that is not completely accurate. If any one challenges your efforts, press to prosecute them. KNOW the LAW — USE THE LAW. MAke the other side live up to ever letter, jot and tidle OF THE LAW!!! Video tape what is going on, have one or two others video tape (wide angle) what is going on around you. Get names, get a volunteer lawyer willing to file suits for anything and everything and have fun…

Socialized health care works great for physical exams and until and unless you get really sick. Then you're toast. National health care is rationed care. But it has a perverse rationality. Social Security is going bankrupt in record speed. How to addess that third rail of politics? You can't. Tell the oldsters you're going to take their Social Security away and they turn into raging pit bulls. BUT – put them in a long queue for health care and a good many of them will kick the bucket before their turn to see the specialist arrives.

That said, if anyone thinks abortion will not be covered in the health care bill should it pass, I have a bridge to sell them. Abortion, however distasteful to most, is a legal procedure according to the SCOTUS. The first time a Government run plan refuses this procedure, the lawyers will be out in full force and denial of same will be considered unconstitutional and a deprivation of the rights of women. So those Dems who CLAIMED they were for a ban on abortion in the bill were selling those who believed them a pig in the poke. It was just cover, that's all.

It has been a while since I have posted anything here, but I have been to the site. Today I was checking in to see the reaction to the Universal Death Star Care vote, and a message popped up on the computer that Big Hollywood contains harmful malware on it's site and did I want to continue to visit the site. I had to press 3 times the "Continue" option on my screen. There was also something about Google. Now I am not a member of the tinfoil hat wearing brigade, but I have never had this happen in all the time I have been to Big Hollywood. I did not know who to contact so whomever is monitoring this site might want to investigate why this message would pop up, and then to offer a re-route option to my computer elsewhere. Just as an added bit of info I have an Apple and not to worried about the malware message. I smell a rat in the wide, wide world of Google or the net.

I know that most conservatives see this thing as some sort of commie governmental takeover, but the reality is that this is a totally watered-down bill that will only entrench the power of the insurance companies deeper.. they've set up a built-to-fail public option that will disappear from the screen once people find out that it is more expensive than private options…. they've acquiesced to the anti-choice crowd (yes, I'm completely pro-choice, so flame away if you must), but what blows me away is that they WILL fund christian scientists who want to spend money to pray away their cancer, etc.. If this bill came from the Republicans, I wouldn't flinch at all, but these are Dems! They are supposed to represent the left! Just another example of how weak-kneed this congress is… even if most people here at Breitbart think we are one sneeze away from becoming red China. Guess again.
Well, of course, the biggest corporations always manage to find some benefits under statist societies, whether or not they go on making anything useful. Think Lada under the Soviets, or Farben under the Nazis.
Those of the Left are deluding themselves if they think that their "solutions" will really empower the people and disempower the corporations.
And if the power doesn't still have the name corporations, it will be the same people, all now government bigwigs, and probably sectored up just about the way those corporations are now. I don't like giant corporate monopolies any better than the left, I just don't see a government monopoly as an improvement.
There was a time when those corporations did great research – think Bell Labs, think IBM – but as they got controlled more and more by Wall Street, and greenmailed out of holding onto earnings to reinvest, most of the big old corporations lost their enterprising spirit and got in bed with government as a major source of research money. We need some massive redistribution of power, but giving it all to government is the worst solution possible. Can you say mafia, anyone? Pay to play? Fascism?
Oh and does anyone think all those university philosophy and "journalism" professors are impartial observers of the business world? The kind of people who universally despise people who through luck, ambition or hard non-academic work make it in the big wide world outside the government/school nursery?

TCM just finished showing Capicorn One, and smarmy goateed douchebag Ben Mankiewicz came on afterward and did some gratuitous Bush-bashing.
Capicorn One was a product of its time, he explained. After Vietnam and especially Watergate, the American public, he claimed, was ready to believe that the government could and would lie to them (ala the faked Mars landing of the film).
"Let's be frank," he followed up, "after the last 8 years [they'd probably believe it now, too]" to explain why the film is currently being remade.
It never occurs to him that a more likely reason the film is being developed for a remake now is that it often seems like at least half of all new movies are remakes. No, no, it's Bush's fault. For lying about something, apparently.
They just cannot help themselves, can they?
Every year our local paper calls to ask us to try them again. I get a small but of satisfaction telling them we do longer need it since the bird died and we use bags to pick up the dog poop. The glow of saying that lasts for the better part of the day and perhaps a few flashed of happiness for the next couple days. And of course the happiness in telling it here.

funny, I was just at Griffith observatory today with my kids and they asked my who's statue that was.
Too funny! Took them long enough to put it up, but it's kinda fugly, IMHO. I love that place…when I exercise, I do the hike from Fern Dell up to the top of Mt. Hollywood, past the Observatory. Just a gorgeous old structure, and the Observatory exhibits are fun as well. Adore the frescoes(?) surrounding the pendulum in the lobby.
