Yes, from what I've read, it was a preplanned event concerning some summit or another, his cracker jack media team decided to invite the entire press, and told them it was an address about the Ft. Hood incident. Talk about amateurs.

You would think the media people behind the biggest PR scam in the history of the free world would have made sure their replacements (before returning to Hollywood) would be sufficiently competent to handle the day to day task of presidency.

As for the local resident who was shot at Ft. Hood, Michael Cooke, was shot three times in the back, while protecting a fellow soldier who had been wounded in the head. He's in critical but stable condition. If you're a religious person, please pray for him, if not, please hope for him.

He represents what I see as the best in Americans, willing to give their own lives for the protection of others. God bless them.

One thing in Obama´s defense: the fake "feel your pain" and "let´s all start healing together" rhetoric that Bill Clinton would have used is even worse. Obama comes across as indifferent – just the way he is, imho – but at least he is giving the jihadis nothing to gloat about. I think Bush would have done better than both of them.

I would expect the person residing in the Oval Office would have a better understanding of circumstances.

One of the wounded soldiers was from a town about 40 miles from where I live, its part of the region. He was shot trying to protect a wounded fellow soldier. According to the paper this morning, its quite severe, but he's stable.

I don't see them turning him over with out one hell of a political fight at the Pentagon.
