Imagine the horror if someone were to grant the “Onion” a touch of self-awareness and they woke up one morning to the fact that since Obama’s election they’ve devolved into nothing more than just another toadie for The Man.

Man, I used to love 'The Onion'. They were equal opportunity satirists. Since Obama, they have leaned hard left. I guess they are being sucked along with MSM into the same wormhole. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
The Onion remains one of the funniest publications in existence. They have made countless little videos mocking Obama for one thing or another.
Can we stop with this hypersensitivity, BH? Do we really have to hear about it every time an episode of L&O or an online video say something negative about a conservative? It is ok to make jokes about Glen Beck. (Even bad jokes, as we have here.) It is not the end of the world. Breath.

Thanks guys that was the funniest thing I have read in quite a while. You're right , Glenn Beck is MUCH funnier than the Onion. What's even funnier is the people who believe his paranoid nonsense , but sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Wow! Is anyone else severely creeped out by the level of hatred that went into making a piece like this? It doesn't even approach funny other thatn the lengths they went to to make it look like real footage. Otherwise, this is just sick. They definitely have some conservatives or at least someone with a spine at The Onion because their "Obama attempts to negotiate with a wild fire" spot on stinging satire aimed directly at big 0. Just like a real newspaper though it seems the balance is heavily liberal… maybe that's why they do it… they're being accurate.

As far as Glenn Beck goes…we should take him serious as well as laugh at him. There are times when he just goes way over the top and he's a joke. There are times when he has valuable insights and commentary.

Hello, did it dawn on anyone that the joke here might be that news networks want to die because he's killing them in the ratings? Or the fact that people hate Glenn Beck so much it they can't even concentrate on the death of their own loved ones. Intentional or not it really makes a funny point about liberals and media.
I thought the Onion take on Hillary Clinton's visit to Pakistan was a classic. I knew then they'd have to be ripping the other side and soon or face the rath of the lefties.

I think the humor in this video is two-fold in that liberals will laugh WITH the video and conservatives will laugh AT the video. the liberals will take it on its face, while I (being a conservative) interpret the video as making fun of the liberal media that loathes Glenn Beck and would love to see him dead. I'm not so convinced that this piece was as partisan as everyone seems to think. or maybe I'm naive.

I have loved the Onion at times, they have been funny before. But unfortunately at a time when a lot of companies are closing their doors, it's too bad none of them are the Onion.
If it would have been the least bit funny, I would be half there. But this not only wishes Beck dead, and plays like it's a normal, common reaction, but it launches at every single painful personal attribute of Beck. It's what Aristotle called "abuse" (which later was translated as "obscenity")

They did do the op ed "I am the Shittiest Senator" by Max Baucus a few weeks ago, where they just laid him out for his health care bill. The Obama wildfire bit was pretty funny along with a few other recent digs. My guess is they either got a call from Rahm or their funniest writer is a conservative and he's taking a break.

I started reading some articles produced by Onion during 2001…I haven't consistently followed most of the material they've produced between then and now, but what little I've read or watched never fails to make me smile. What I'm getting at is that I think a lot of people watch Beck but don't take him seriously. Same goes for Foxnews in general. Look at their campaign against him during the election. Obama still got in. Same goes for Rush Limbaugh. I listen to him on the way home from work but I don't agree with him.

Upon further consideration, I'm going back to my first gut-reaction, when I watched the video, prior to reading the hurt feelings here: The Onion did a pretty mediocre job of showing how emotionally retarded the people are who simply hate Glenn Beck, and who want him dead, and spread lies and hatred about him, and too bad it's not more obvious;
