Yeah Hoffman! Now even Newt Gingrich endorses Hoffman!
BO and Michelle find another way to demean the Office of the Presidency — having trick or treating at the White House.
Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm!
Since this is an open thread…
I've been going through the new PelosiCare bill and I have to say they are going to destroy private insurance:

And it's full of liberal fantasy:

Now that Halloween is over it's time for:
Christmas at the Obamas
You're invited to an Obama White House Christmas party. I know I'm supposed to say holiday, but hey, it's my video.
So I get to ID ……Ginger Rogers!
I highly recommend an incredible novel I just read: 'The Film Club: A Memoir" by David Gilmour, Canadian novelist and film critic. BRILLIANT!
A poignant, moving, sensitive endearing, witty, smart, touching story of a father-son relationship with highly engaging film talk.
David Gilmour is an unemployed movie critic trying to convince his fifteen-year-old son Jesse to do his homework. When he realizes Jesse is beginning to view learning as a loathsome chore and is starting to go off the rails, he offers his son an unconventional deal: Jesse could drop out of school, not work, not pay rent – but he must watch three movies a week of his father's choosing.
Jesse agrees, and The Film Club is born.
Over the next 3 years, as Jesse struggles with mercurial girlfriends, and heart wrenching teenage heartbreak and David struggles to find steady work, father and son watch every film from The Godfather to Basic Instinct to True Romance to Rosemary's Baby to Showgirls' films by Kurosawa, Scorsese, DePalma, Wilder, Spielberg, and others.
It is through their film club that father and son engage in deeply personal discussions about Jesse 's life, his own romantic dramas, about sexual jealousy (Last Tango in Paris) and alcoholism (Volcano: An Inquiry into the Life and Death of Malcolm Lowry); drugs, music, work, love, friendship,
The Film Club not only surprisingly changes each of their individual lives, but also their father and son relationship.
Film Lovers, Fathers, Sons, Mothers, Daughters, Teachers, will ALL love this story.
The Film Club : Memoir, by David Gilmour is available in Canada and the US and it's selllng fast.
David Gilmour's sixth novel, A Perfect Night to Go to China, won the 2005 Governor-General's Award for fiction in Canada and has been translated into Russian, French, Thai, Italian, Dutch, Bulgarian, Serbian and Turkish. China and a previous book, Lost Between Houses, were both nominated for Ontario's Trillium Book Award. His novels have been praised by William Burroughs, Northrop Frye, and People magazine. Gilmour worked for the Toronto International Film Festival before moving into a broadcasting career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), where he served as the national film critic for country's flagship news show, The Journal. He went on to host his own talk show on CBC's Newsworld, Gilmour on the Arts, which won a Gemini Award.
Where did Moxie go ?
I miss her sharp humor
Obamo's in Newark and Camden today showing off his skin color to the residents there I'm Black your Black now go out and vote for the crooked White guy. , I hope someone steals his car or maybe just the hubcaps.
"First Lady Michelle Obama by his side — playing her part as a purring Cat Woman clad in an orange-and-black leopard print top, fuzzy ears and black eyeshadow….."
Kills that fantasy for all time…Michelle "purring"……that'd make any man lose it.
Why is BHO even remotely concerned as to who wins the NJ governor's race?
Hhhhmmmmmm MMmmm MMMmmmm?
How on earth is that demeaning to the Presidency? Papa Bush and Clinton also hosted kids. Halloween is much cooler than the egg roll, IMHO.
So they bathed The White House in orange last night to 'celebrate' this year's Halloween…
Which means that 'man' called 0bama gave this 'holiday' more attention than this year's National Day of Prayer…
News Headline: Obama tones down National Day of Prayer observance
News Link: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/05/06/obama.pray...
Which also means that 'praying Christian' called 0bama chose to ignore The Vatican's warning to American parents that Halloween is a pagan celebration of "terror, fear and death."
News Headline: Vatican warns parents that Halloween is 'anti-Christian'
News Link: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadlin...
Just watched Rush on Sunday with chris Wallace
Good interview
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/01/limbau...
Which in the end (of days?) means next year's Halloween will be even MORE EVIL:
0bama will acknowledge that he IS Satan…as bonfires burn on The White House lawn… 'celebrating' 0bama's Festival of the Dead…because he was so successful in collecting trick-or-treater souls…to take with him back to Hell…
Because The White House is STILL aglow…from the thousands of 'real' jack-o'-lanterns…hollowed out human skulls…now filled with lit candles… made from real baby fat.
thank you for that review..i am getting that book today..good post.
Chris what Obama has donr for the country
…..Zippo….Nada….The Big O
Has Obama made the country safer ?
Nope…No Way No How…
He called Obama a Man Child
/Hahahaha
He is the anti-christ
You havn't heard ?

A Very Interesting Next Three Years
Up is Now Down, Down Up
If one were to collate the public statements and actions of many in the Obama administration, one would conclude that the most conciliatory past language masks the most divisive, polarizing administration in recent history–a fact born out by most polls. Surely this is one of the most radical turnabouts in memory: in a mere ten months the mellifluous voice has become a siren that charms and hypnotizes the voters as they are lured onto the partisan shoals.

You are so right! (no pun intended…lol) And PJTV rocks!
Their 'Power & Danger of Iconography' video is certainly an eye-opener…

He celebrates Halloween but opts out of any commemoration of National Prayer Day. Tells you a whole bunch doesn't it?
And you find yet another facetious way to demean the president.

Todays internal Islamic Jihad update:
"The federal authorities claim Abdullah was the head of a radical jihadist organization intent on carving out an Islamic state within the United States through violent means.
Eleven men face charges. The complaint said many of the men were ex-convicts who were introduced to Islam in prison.
"That's true that 90 percent of the brothers here have been locked up or had contact with the criminal justice system," said Jamil Ibn Rafael smoking a cigarette out front before 2 p.m. prayers began. "But there's so much confusion in the ghetto. They snatch a man up, put him away and dump him back in the ghetto. He feels hopeless. He needs something to organize his life. We want our own life. But we ain't no jihadist overthrow organization."
so it is. my first guess was Jean Harlow and if you compare shots on imdb, i wasn't that far off.
I liked Crowder's presentation. LOL.
Your fellow Texan Andy Pettite was awesome last night!!!
ya, and Andy swinging the ol' lumber too! This is setting up well, but to inveresely paraphase Obama's idiot POS "minister-preacher" whatever, let not count our chickens…this will finish in Philly or head back to da Bronx. nice!
Women I think that would make good conservative candiates for Congress and Senate- Liz Cheney, Valerie Perino,
Kimberly Gilfoyle, Kate Obershain, Katy the Town Hall gal that Sean Hannity had on his show , who said to Spector,
"you have woken a sleeping giant".Just to name a few potential conservative women. Any others you can mention?
Halloween isn't a religious observance to the 99.99% of the U.S. population that isn't pagan so I don't think he's crossing a religious line. ;-D
A hit an RBI, a run scored, and a big W in the WS. After settling down, you couldn't ask for a more guttier performance. It was B0's POS preacher Wright who was squawking about "chickens coming home to roost," and I hope it does for all those Phillie fans who are chanting "Yankees Suck!!" After hearing that I hope the Yanks can close it out in Phila, on THEIR field, and shut them up!!!
GO BOMBERS!!!!
amen! close 'em out! C.C. has been historically effective on the 3 days rest. If he's on, watchout!
as long as I only have to rent them and not buy…
Poor Ginger – no one has anything to say. I don't have any insight on her or her career. And she was majorly popular for decades in all sorts of films. Built her rep on the Astaire/Rogers teaming, but she did a lot more than that. Even though she was a hottie, her films seemed more geared to women than to men.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044075/
STORM WARNING was interesting as she and Ronald Reagan fight the KKK. I think that is the only film that Doris Day ever gets killed or dies in.
Never really heard anything scandalous about her except for a very domineering stage mother lurking about.
I don't think it's unusual for Prez's to stump for their party's candidates in a tight state race. They all do it; it's pretty standard political stuff.
"They snatch a man up, put him away and dump him back in the ghetto."
Well Jamil, Jesse & Al did absolutely nothing about it. Know for certain I am not going to wast my life solving that problem. If not you, who?
And have there EVER been a more beautiful pair of eyes in Hollywood? Some sort of indefinable "girl-next-door meets sex goddess" quality about them that never gets old.
Ginger Rogers once proudly said that she always votes a straight Republican ticket. She raised a lot of money for her friend Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign and after he won she said, "I can now die happy."
So, after dropping out of the NY-23 race, Scozzafava endorses the Democrat against Hoffman.
Ahem, this means Newt Gingrich endorsed a Democrat by proxy. I wonder how he feels about that. I also wonder if he'll learn anything from it. Until "Scozza-traita" dropped out, the GOP insiders were telling New Yorkers to vote for a virtual Democrat against a true conservative. now that virtual Democrat is endorsing an actual Democrat.
And, I might add, some of these same GOP inside-the-Beltway morons were saying last Fall that Sarah Palin was a problem for the GOP. Well, she endorsed Hoffman long ago – so far as political campaign timelines are concerned – before this debacle had fully played out. If nothing else, Sarah Palin has proven herself a smarted politician than Newt Gingrich!
I think any GOP representative who endorsed Scozzafava should be forced to step aside now! They are obviously total and complete morons.
….."I think any GOP representative who endorsed Scozzafava should be forced to step aside now! They are obviously total and complete morons. "
You are too nice
I was thinking a little more drastic like GITMO,after all they are enemies of the state
I bet she has a CZAR posistion already waiting, another backroom Obama / Rahm deal
'The Matrix' producer in talks to make Prophet Mohammad film
A film about the Prophet Mohammad backed by the producer of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Matrix" is under discussion, a Qatar media firm said on Sunday, aiming to create an English-language blockbuster for the world's 1.5 billion Muslims.

/How are they gonna get away with showing pedopheielia ?
/Silly me , Islam is ok with that and Honor murders
Agreed. Out of all the things to criticize Obama over, this one really ranks near the bottom of my list.
Ruh-roh. The St. Petersburg Times—Scientology HQ's hometown paper and perpetual investigative thorn in their side—has unleashed another scathing report on the religion. This time, it's on the lengths they'll go bringing deserters back, including Tom Cruise's wedding chef.

/If they would just act more like Islam the press would leave them alone
I'm just glad Scozzafava's out of the race. For one thing, it means there's no chance I'll have to worry about pronouncing that name correctly; more importantly, it means the voters in that district now have a clear choice to make about who they want in Washington. Except that the idiots running the GOP would probably use it to "prove" that they were right all along, I'd even be willing to take a Hoffman loss at this point, because if nothing else, we were able with this election to rid ourselves of another "virtual Democrat."
After the mistakes Michael Steele has made running the RNC I beiieve he should resign.__Some of the blogs are now suggesting as such. I don't know about a ground swell so far__but its now possible for me to be a racist in my party as well as the apposing party. Lucky Me.
Frank Rich + Scozzafava + Stalin = Ghost Light Out
Why? See:
FRANK RICH: GHOST LIGHT'S OUT
http://naturalfake.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/frank...
A safe bet : Islamic Rage Boy will be outraged.
LOL!
I can here it now: Leftards will point out that Republicans are racist for rejecting Steele, ignoring all the Uncle Tom calls the left gives out to Steel, Thomas, et al.
PPP poll: Hoffman up big in two-man race
Here are some interesting facts from our unweighted numbers so far:
-In a three way contest Doug Hoffman leads Bill Owens by 19 points. In a two way contest Hoffman leads Owens by 15 points. So the Dede Scozzafava withdrawal and endorsement will probably tighten the race some but not nearly enough.
-58% of Republicans think that Scozzafava’s a liberal and that was obviously before her endorsement today.

Scozzafava ex-spokesman speaks out
Matt Burns, former spokesman for Dede Scozzafava’s defunct campaign for Congress, said his old boss was wrong to endorse Democrat Bill Owens in a conference call with conservative bloggers Sunday evening.
“That is not something I agreed with, henceforth, I’m participating on this call,” Mr. Burns said on a conference call that was arranged by the American Conservative Union political action committee.

US admiral concerned about China military buildup
HONG KONG — A U.S. Navy admiral expressed new concern Friday over China's military buildup and urged Beijing to be clearer about its intentions.
With China's military growing at an "unprecedented rate," the U.S. wants to ensure that expansion doesn't destabilize the region, Rear Adm. Kevin Donegan told reporters on a visit to the Chinese territory of Hong Kong.
Donegan referred to China's expanded weaponry. His remarks echoed the concerns of other U.S. military leaders who have said the growth in China's military spending — up almost 15 percent in the 2009 budget — raises questions about how Beijing plans on deploying its new power.

Maybe China is getting ready to handle our Iranian problem ?
They must be protecting thier investment.
3 W's down 1 more to go. A Fantastic finish in Philly!!! Johnny Damon with the heads up steal of second and then third, I think, shook up Lidge, who gave Astro fans nightmares. Do you live near Houston? Anyhow, the crowd that was chanting "Yankees S**k," sure got quiet in a hurry in the top of the 9th. WS #27 is within their grasp.
GO BOMBERS!!!!!
Ginger could do it all. She could dance and sing: "Swing Time," "Follow the Fleet," "Top Hat," and so on. She could do drama: "Kitty Foyle," for which she won the Academy Award for best actress. And she could do light comedy: "Bachelor Mother" (my personal favorite) and "The Major and the Minor." Plus, she was gorgeous!
27 outs to #27! I'm an "extreme" west Texan, in El Paso aka almost Mexico. I lived in Austin for many years and my siblings live there now. My octogenarian parents live in El Paso so I'm here now, also finishing (finally) school. My brother is an iverterate Astros fan (?) so I've been to a handful of Astros games, the new place is nice. I go as a Cubs fan just to irratate him. After grad school I'll be going east, probably back to Austin, I want to work for the party so that means returning to the mothership, Austin, liberal haven.
Well…I hear tell that there is some mighty good BBQ in the Peoples Republik of Austin. Many years ago I drove thru OK and Northern TX on I-40, went past that Big Texas, I believe it's called, steakhouse, in I think Amarillo. Me and my Pop didn't stop. Also I don't remember if I told you, I was in the Houston area. One thing I noticed about Texas, is that everything, to me, seemed to be spread far apart, as I'm from New Jersey, where everything seems compact. I guess it is all a matter of perspective, but I did like the people I met there. It's much more friendlier than New England, as I'm sure anyone who has been to both will attest.
Good luck with school, God Bless your folks, mine are in their 70's, and let us enjoy and savor, as fellow Yankee fans, another World Series Championship. Indeed. as you put it 27 outs to #27! GO BOMBERS!!!
Fabulous BBQ around Austin, some places in the outskirts date back 100 years and more. Generally people are really nice, I stay out of Dallas and Houston mostly. They can be tough in places like any other big cities.
YEA #27!
Love Ginger. Holds her own with a house full of the greats: Katie, Eve, Lucy… Stagedoor! On most days, Ginger is always more important than Newt.
