Name this movie: An ace CIA operative, condemned as a rogue and now hunted by the Company, bashes and crashes his way through colorful foreign settings, pursued by heavily armed hit men, while back at Langley headquarters an inscrutable deputy director and one of his top lieutenants are arousing the...

So the BH banner has a link to Soledad O'Brian getting embarrased on Jeopardy.
Best line of the article: "Are you smarter than a CNN Anchor?"
Wow. Larry Parks. Great in the 2 Al Jolson bio-pics, then he gets black-listed in the 50s and virtually disappears. The later movie in which he played Sigmund Freud was very well done. He seemed very personable and of the many stars who were black-listed, his career took one of the biggest hits.
I thought it was John Forsyth.
I love Larry Parks! Probably the best lip-synching ever done in the movies in his role as Al Jolson in both "The Jolson Story" and "Jolson Sings Again." Also, he was very handsome and engaging.
In my opinion, he was the only real victim of the supposed "witch hunts" in Hollywood. I blame his fellow Hollywood actors for abandoning him when they could have rallied together to stop any blacklist. However, the same old tired misconception continues today that it was the government that imposed a blacklist. Wrong! Hollywood imposed the blacklist upon itself and the same old self described liberals, like Lauren Bacall and Rod Steiger, who are always bragging about their opposition to the blacklist, are the same ones who continued to take paychecks from the studios doing the blacklisting.
Larry Parks was the only real tragedy from this disgrace. A crying shame…he was great.
Oh its Larry Parks i was also thought him John Forsyth at the very first sight.
I saw there was some sort of raid on people involved with child prostitution. Did any of the Acorn locations get raided?
Barney Frank: "We are trying on every front to increase the role of government" (yes folks, on EVERY front).

Oooooh I guess she's right up their with Wolf Blitzer then, or is that DOWN there?
WTF? I see a wascally libewal.
CNN: Bringing lows to an all new height!
Really good interview with Charles Krauthammer
http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,...
"to be the hero of five Norwegian leftists, is not exactly politically positive"
I'll say! Thanks for the link Ed, it IS a good interview.
You just can't make this stuff up!

"Matthew Balan, MRC's CNN-watcher, joked that perhaps there's a new prime-time quiz show to be made: 'Are You Smarter Than a CNN Anchor?'"
It's wabbit season!
oops, that should have been THERE, not THEIR.
lol..Bawney always reminds me of Elmer Fudd.
That is a great interview. What a brilliant man.
Thanks for turning us on to that interview. It should be required reading. That Krauthammer. What a Guy. Thanks Again.
Funny, I always had Barney pegged (no pun intended) as the creepy old guy who trolled SF bathhouses looking for "twinks," but only got politically aware once the city tried shutting those down in the late 70's…
Is that, uh, like a Boat Anchor or something?
Over on Drudge there's a link to an article about CNN coming in dead last in the ratings, yet again.
CNN's answer? They're not ideological enough.
Keep up the good work CNN! That's just what the free market wants, more of what they reject today!
Love "The Jolson Story." Remember seeing it on TV when I was little. Made me love Al Jolson's voice.
( and now Hollywood does the blacklisting )
The only person Elmer Fudd was a danger to was himself.
We're all in the cross hairs with Frank.
Duck season!
Krauthammer, an American original. Love him.
I thought it was Desi Arnaz.
He is an interesting character, I've been following his work for several years.
What caught my eye was an essay he wrote condemning cell stem research that uses human embryos. He was a medical doctor who broke his neck in a motorcycle crash in the 1970's and he's paralyzed from the neck down. So he went into political analysis.
His essay was very moving, he said he would give anything to get out of that chair and walk again, except bequeath to his son a world where humans are created and harvested for the benefit of the living.
It was exactly my opinion, but I could never put it such appropriate words.
They could feature five-year-olds one-upping Wolfie and his brethren.
I'm telling you, people are getting sick of the lies and the spin perpetuated by the MSM, obviously it's starting to show in their ratings. If they get a bailout though that will be the last straw for them.
So did I!
A few Obama jokes from the Patriot Post!
Obama Jokes
Q: What's the main problem with Barack Obama jokes?
A: His followers don't think they're funny and everyone else doesn't think they're jokes.
Q: Why does Barack Obama oppose the Second Amendment?
A: It stands between him and the First.
Q: What's the difference between Greta Van Susteren and Barack Obama?
A: Greta only talks out of one side of her mouth.
Q: What does Barack Obama call lunch with a convicted felon?
A: A fund raiser.
Q: What's the difference between Obama's cabinet and a penitentiary?
A: One's full of tax evaders, blackmailers and threats to society. The other is for prisoners.
Q: What's the difference between a large pizza and the typical Obama backer?
A: The pizza can feed a family of four.
Q: What's another difference between Obama and Hitler?
A: Hitler got the Olympics to come to his country.
Q: Why doesn't Obama pray?
A: It's impossible to read the teleprompter with your eyes closed.
Rachel–the dead girl who was on Red Eye last night–is described as a "political consultant, blogger and pundit." Is that true? A search on "Blood Manor" Rachel only brings up links to her previous appearance on Red Eye.
And now Pravda is running a front-page story saying that America has finally shed its capitalist shell and is making the final move toward socialism. This can mean only one thing: the people who work at Pravda are racists.
A Barack Obama joke…isn't that a redundancy?
I just wanted to let everyone know that I just ate a warm roast beef and cheddar sandwich. Lord Stern can suck it! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment...
I did too.
Those are awesome…. *lol*
I thought it was Desi Arnez
Lord Stern will have to pry my ham and cheese on rye from my cold, dead hands.
What do Obama and John Kennedy have in common?
Nothing yet…
Support the US Military!

How long is President Obama going sit around and have "meetings" while more and more troops die in Afghanistan?
I'm happy we now have a leader who can win at chess instead of one who loses at checkers.
Do you know if the President even plays chess? I've heard his election will cause the sea levels to fall, and the planet to heal, but I don't recall hearing anything about chess. Though I could very well be wrong.
Also, here's a short list of funny jokes about a politician, and making fun of politicians is as old as America itself. I think John Adams was accused of being a crossdresser?
What on earth does this have to do with President Bush? Absolutely nothing. Come on, you're smarter than that. I challenge you: come up with an Obama joke, that's just a joke, and doesn't use Bush as a crutch for laughs.
I just saw the Michael Jackson movie. It's just 2 hours of him singing. There's not much behind the scenes action.
And oddly, there's no crew reaction to his death. In fact, no mention of his death.
WABBIT SEASON!!!
The chess remark I heard recently somewhere and I thought it sounded accurate and I wanted to share.
Don't got an Obama joke right now, but do you remember when Dan Quayle and Bill Clinton had a spelling bee — and Quayle Won? Clinton thought 'harass" was 2 words.
Remember Donna Rice (Gary Hart's girlfriend?) Back in '88 they used to say that the main difference between Republican women and Democrat women was that Republican women gave their heart to Bush, and with Democrat women it was the other way around.
A CNN Anchor couldn't win if he/she were playing against Burt Reynolds and Sean Connery.
There you go! Applause!
Take a step back, lighten up, and enjoy life!
And I still want that Obama joke from you.
I think I saw that on SNL…
Good one!
I read that "article" T-Rav and thought to myself.."gee they print it with such glee". Arsewipes anyway.
A Marxist, a community organizer and a Muslim go into a bar. Bartender says "hello Mr. President."

October '09 Ratings: Fox News Unchallenged at the Top
Fox News won every major ratings category in October, especially with its dominant prime time line-up.
In total day, FNC averaged 1.23M total viewers and 337k in the demo. In prime time, the averages are 2.59M and 692k, respectively, with no one else coming close.
The Huffington Post notes that the network had the top 11 programs in the A25-54 demo and the top 13 programs in total viewers. Bill O'Reilly was number one with 3.39M total viewers (875k in the demo), followed by "Glenn Beck" and "Hannity." As we've mentioned in the past, some of FNC's daytime programs, including "Happening Now," "Live Desk," and "Fox & Friends," outdraw all primetime programs on the other networks.

BLAM!!!!!!!!!
(Daffy'sbill spins round and round…)
HA! Can picture it now!
I miss Mel Blanc.
Some societies are greater than others. They can be judged by how long they lasted, how much technology they produced, how much of their art still exists today, what civilizations they defeated, how much of their language and culture have permeated other cultures, and so on. There's a good book on this, it's called "In Defense of Elitism."
The book's thesis can be applied to thought: Some intellectual thought is more true, more profound, and more meaningful. Other thoughts are less true or meaningful. Ideologies can be graded based on a number of things: What actions, if any, do these ideas call for? What do leaders do when they follow these ideas? What societies are built on these ideas, and what have they accomplished? Have the adoption of these ideas led to progress or the decline of these societies?
(to be continued)
Obviously, we would like to conclude that our society is the best ever, bar none. We have McDonalds in China, Spiderman in Turkey. Google is a verb in dozens of nations, we dominate culturally, and militarily, and so on, we've destroyed other civilizations and taken their land and then allowed the remnants of these civilizations to become American. And instead of a dogmatic adherence to a monarchical line of sovereigns, we have elections, free press, and free speech. We are a powerhouse and unstoppable!!
Vew things in this world are infinite, and empires rise and fall. The way that the Founders framed our constitution, it would seem that our Empire would potentially last forever, or until toppled militarily, rather than eaten up from within. I hope we do last forever. But we are being eaten up from within, by ideas which run contrary to the constitution. (continued)
When the founders adopted the constitution in 1792, we saw such progress for the next two centuries that it made up for the past 2000 years of stagnation in the dark ages. Now that we are adopting unabashed socialism here, with Obama's election, we are seeing our financial system fall apart and our nation's solvency come into question.
Liberal ideas of wealth redistribution are only a few seconds older than human ideas of providing for one's own self. But the difference is one works because it the labor that produces the wealth is powered by human desire for wealth. The other is powered by envy, is easily fueled by demagogues, and labor does not enter into the equation. This is yet another half-baked idea that is as old as the cave man. And if I may stereotype the cave man without offending anyone, just as dumb.
Capitalism goes a little something like this:
(Human Desire)(Labor) + capital = Wealth generation
There may be more factors involved but really it's just that simple.
Socialism goes like this:
n = the number of people the government considers as have nots
b = the amount of money needed to pay the bureaucrats salaries and benefits
((Wealth – b) – operating costs ) / n = the amount that everybody gets
There are always more and more factors involved but really it doesn't necessarily include labor — labor is assumed. "To each, according to his needs."
Barack Obama applied for a job. They gave him a mop and said clean up this mess.
5 minutes later, they came back and said, you were supposed to be done yesterday.
Come on, you can do better than that!
Try something with the ears.
