Name this movie: An ace CIA operative, condemned as a rogue and now hunted by the Company, bashes and crashes his way through colorful foreign settings, pursued by heavily armed hit men, while back at Langley headquarters an inscrutable deputy director and one of his top lieutenants are arousing the...

Good morning comrades. Now that it has been revealed that there are Maoists in the Obama government, it's time that he gets his own little red book. See it for the quotes or the glorious people's art.
Quotations From Chairman Obamao's Little Red Book
I accidentally picked up Mao's Little Black Book……….Stalin got 3 stars!
This picture of John Barrymore is interesting in that it shows differences in fashion (hats, gloves, cufflinks, mustached vs, van-dyke etc.)
Drew Barrymore's grandpa, John; it would have been interesting to see him on stage, where his histronics were more appropriate, than early films. Kevin Kline's early performances remind me of Barrymore's —theatrical and over the top on a regular basis. At least Kline learned to adjust his style for film….
Can't remember; was Dolores Costello Drew's grandmother? There appears to be some resemlance
Will the FCC let me read this?
with all the talk of reforming healthcare, I don't hear much about Dental or vision. they are bundled for me through work. Is it just understoond that these discussions and reforms will extend to other coverages?
Is Barack Obama going to cripple our healthcare system?
Why yes! Yes, he is. For he's:
PRESIDENT THALIDOMIDE

I can't vouch for any other shows but last night, per usual, I tuned into NBC's Thursday lineup. In the span of 120 minutes, there was about 30 seconds of community service-related material.
-Community (the show with Joel McHale) had absolutely nothing: no plotline, no PSA… bupkes.
-Parks and Recreation had a short plotline re: working with a non-profit to build a children's playground (which was relevant to the ongoing story arc), then a 10-second PSA for the actual company that does the work. (In the show itself, the company is portrayed as a fraud!)
-The Office had a short bit where Michael begins a staff meeting talking about community relations but it quickly derails into something else.
-On 30 Rock, Kenneth the page goes to a dog pound. That was it.
If I worked for the Obama administration, I'd be thinking to myself, "That's it?! We make a big deal about service and that's all they did for us?!"
if you force the writers to do your bidding, you might not get what you wanted.
Obama (my peace be upon him) should have demanded script approval
Whoa! A very nasty, evil, unpleasant Nancy Pelosi clone/rip-off on FLASHFORWARD last night. They even referred to her as a bitch on the show and she had a name that was similar to Pelosi.
The great Soupy Sales is gone.
I remember watching his show when I was five or six. Soupy, and old "Little Rascals" ("Our Gang") and Three Stooges shorts (hosted by "Officer" Joe Bolton on New York's Channel 11) were all major influences in developing my sense of what was funny.
RIP
Don't worry everybody, Islam is a religion of "peace" and has NO ulterior motives in America. Relax.
"The Muslim Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." — "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America," by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991."
What the FCC is up to is ridiculous, convoluted, and I seriously doubt they have any authority to do it. But since when has that bothered the federal government?
Simple analogy, when you go to a hotel, you can either spend a lot of money and get a suite with all the bells and whistles, or you can save a few bucks and get a cheaper room.
They're talking about forcing the hotels (ISP's) to charge the exact same for the penthouse as they do for the bunk beds in the basement.
And there's only one place where this can lead, to every one sleeping in bunk beds in the basement, because if the ISP's can't make enough profits from the high end service, they'll simply stop supplying it.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least if it's some half-assed attempt to squash sites like Drudge. If his ISP can't charge enough for his circuits to justify them, they'll crank them down, and then access to his site will be extremely limited.
I wouldn't put anything past these a holes.
Not as much money in dental or vision, so there's not as much power to be seized.
"The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve “the common good.” It is true that capitalism does—if that catch-phrase has any meaning—but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification of capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man’s rational nature, that it protects man’s survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is: justice."
—Ayn Rand
As has been mentioned, the great Soupy Sales has died:
http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-soup...
But we've also lost Vic Mizzy (snap snap):
http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-vic-...
Ed, I think we all know that this is just another step in the total control direction that this administration is taking. I wouldn't be surprise if in the near future that our internet access gets either stopped all together or limited to say 2 hours a day. All they would have to do is say something like "hey you can have 2 hours today, but you're free to pick your times". I am still in awe that we have come so far down this socialist road.
Awww I liked Soupy, I'm sorry to hear about his passing.
I've never heard of Mizzy.
Yeah, I was more than a little relieved to see they didn't turn the whole lineup into a service-fest. Granted, I only watched The Office (and given the drama last night, I doubt anyone gave a fig about that line anyway); Community and Parks & Rec are both pretty poor, in my opinion, and as for 30 Rock…probably a pretty funny show, from what I've heard, but I prefer to keep my viewing of Alec Baldwin to a minimum, like virtually never.
But…but…the FCC would never do anything to regulate political content on the Internet, right? They couldn't do that…could they?
Thank you for posting this — I knew nothing about John Barrymore, but this made me check him out at You Tube, and I found a treasure:

A special kind of champagne, indeed!
Have faith in the internet, and the people who run it, and especially those who hide in the shadows of it (by that I mean the hackers, the good kind).
They're already light years ahead of government, and they're increasing their lead millisecond by millisecond.
This won't go unanswered. Back in 2003 when America first invaded Iraq for the second time, Al Jezzera was putting out some pretty inflammatory propaganda. Suddenly they were knocked off the internet world wide.
That was not an accident. I know a very internet savvy guy who just told me to keep my eye on the news concerning Al Jezzera.
The government won't even know what hit them.
I don't think they could. Honestly. I work in internet security, so I work under the hood. Despite what the commercials tell you about rock solid, dependable, reliable network access, it ain't all that organized.
The internet was based on the idea that since a computer could be programmed to solve a maze, like a mouse, why couldn't information be broken up into small "data packets" or "datagrams" and do the exact same thing over a network?
When some one plugs a wide are router into the "internet" (which is really just a way for humans to conceive the over all network), you promise to do your best to get traffic moved to the next "hop." There is no guarantee that you will be able to do that, you just have to promise to make an honest attempt.
So no single person or group controls the internet, so single person or group even knows what it is (I know that's kind of confusing, but it's true). People generate graphics that appear to simulate what it might look like conceptually, but know one really knows what it looks like, because its not something tangible.
Government can't even run the county clerk's office (they forgot to send me my property taxes one year, so I had to pay a penalty), there is no way in hell they can control the internet. They can make things difficult, they can break things around the edges, but the internet is far bigger than any government regulation. Remember how it took Iran 48 hours to start shutting it down during protests? And they have an iron lock on their country's internet access.
By the time the federal government even came up with 10,000 page bill on how to control it, it will already have changed rendering it useless.
I have seen the future, and it is the internet!
Last weeks Parks and Recreation was a biting anti-Chavez comedy (no, I'm not kidding).
Which means, I hope, that you clicked on the link to learn about him. That's great!
A true NY baby boomer icon. I never even thought about his still being alive b/c he is frozen in time in his prime in my mind.
How about Sonny Fox? He did 2 weekend shown on WNEW. 2.5 hours on Saturday – "Just for Fun". FOUR HOURS on Sunday on "WONDERAMA". Both kid's shows! 4 hours on a Sunday morning with all those kids. Iy yi yi!
Hey – remember the spinning wheel thing that made color appear on your B&W TV sets?
"TV set" or "television set". Who calls them that anymore? Hahaha! Now we have "monitors". La de da!
Of course.
I had no idea who wrote the Addams family song. I still sing it out loud a LOT.
Very catchy tune.
I believe John Barrymore was the only actor who changed from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde without benefit of makeup, merely facial distortions.
For those who believe America is the property of We The People, a note of caution, this may turn your stomach.

My sweet, awesome, hippie liberal friend was searching online to help me find a new job and sent me a link to a non-profit that aims to eliminate nuclear weapons.
I was like… yeah, I can't do that. Nuclear deterrence is kind of important. She said something like, Oh well, we have different views, I guess you have a point, lol. And then she said something about her "no military thing." WTF???
It's a good thing I am about to go to physical therapy… I can work out my frustration there.
I've got some issues with Ayn Rand's philosophy, she believed it was wrong to help others, which I think was her just driving her point home with a sledge hammer, but she got that quote right.
Pursuing your own goals for your own satisfaction is one thing, but if my personal goal is to help others, I see nothing wrong with that.
While it would be difficult being surrounded by people like that for 40 hours a week, it could be a nice gig. It's not like they're going to accomplish anything, so basically you'd get paid for sitting around saying things like "wow, bombs are, like, bad, man."
"no military thing"?
“Those who ‘abjure’ violence can only do so because others are committing violence on their behalf.” (George Orwell, Such, Such Were the Joys, 1953)
No, I think Frederic March chose that approach as well, as did Spencer Tracy.
What kind of monster kills a 7 year old child, and throws them in the garbage?
I can't imagine being a parent, and having to move on after something like that.
Unfortunately it happens more than anyone would care to believe. It's maddening , and disheartening.
This is the excerpt from the alleged thesis paper:
“… the Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy.”
I found it on American Thinker.com. I could not find any sites with the entire document, so rabid foaming at the mouth should be curtailed for now at least.
Note the "Barrymore chin"…
BTW: His mother was Georgiana Drew of the famed Drew family of actors, so you see where the grand-daughter's name came from.
LOL, true!
http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2009/10/23/nonsen...
The reporter above, who was originally attributed wtih having seen the thesis, is stating that this is false.
Maybe there are other sources, but I have not seen them yet.
Yeah, I remember WONDERAMA, with Sonny Fox and with his replacement, Bob McAllister. You could watch it for a while, go to Mass, and when you came back it was still on!
WPIX !!!!!! Abbot and Costello — Who's on First?
With the hat, mustache and pose, I thought at first glance it was William Powell. But for the chins, they could be brothers – at least when kitted out in the style of the day.
Do you have a link to this? I'd love to read it for myself.
A live 4 hour show and I have read that getting tickets to be a kid on the show was very hard to do. I dont remember the replacement guy. I must have been 'grown up' by then.
btw – Sonny Fox – still living! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Fox Incredible career. Survived the quiz show 'scandals'.
btw – there is a 4 part interview with Sheldon Leonard on Youtube. Fascinating as he talks mostly about his years in television.
Joe Bolton is gone. And so is Sandy Becker.
Read about John Barrymore death and what was done to the body….

The First "Lady" should buy her sweaters in the MEN's department. I am sick of seeing her sweaters' seam popping.
