"You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow."
Also great playing herself and getting mugged for her gift basket outside a Hollywood awards show by Christopher Moltasante on "The Sopranos."
Oh I know how to whistle. Great Sopranos episode too. Bacall was quite the stunner. No wonder she was with the great Bogie.

What's worse, the balloon boy barfing on TV or the fact that his parents knew he was sick and had a barf bucket ready for him while they forced him to appear on multiple shows? I'm generally against government intervention but those kids should be taken to a safe home with parents who will not use them for attention.
i have a coworker who has stories baout this guy. he is a storm chaser and a homemade rocket enthusiast. Mix that with a dirt bike and you start to get the picture.
i've seen the photos
I would so walk 20 miles through the snow just to stand in her trash.
Hey, how 'bout Mr. Sabathia?
My top five favorite Bacall films:
1) The Big Sleep
2) Key Largo
3) Harper
4) Murder on the Orient Express
5) The Shootist

She was pretty good on Broadway in "Woman of the Year". Like Julie Andrews there aren't many like her anymore. Sigh…
Anybody seen this yet?

Yet another report showing Obamacare fails unless you are compelled to buy healthcare.

$201,449,289 goes a long way in Major League Baseball. The Marlins won 87 games on a team payroll of $36,814,000. Someone give them a trophy!
Found a great video of Red Skelton explaining the meaning of every word of the pledge of allegiance:

Alarm bells should have been going off in everyone's heads as soon as the news came out that they'd been on a reality show before. Once a publicity hog, always a publicity hog.
Off-screen, Bogie was a pussycat – one of the nicest, most gentle guys you'd ever meet. And Bacall had him wrapped around her finger.
And it's easy to see why.
could anybody post the video clip or maybe a link to The One getting snubbed by the Russkies? if you haven't seen it, Obama is going thru a receiving line of Russian officials and one after another is blatantly refusing to shake his hand. (maybe he should have bowed to them, too?) the deflated look on wonderboy's face is priceless. it's the new video definition of "owned". i have the clip in email, but my technical skills preclude my doing anything more than forwarding it to someone else.
as an American, it pisses me off those arrogant a$$holes would show such disrespect for our leader. however, that feeling is trumped by my disgust at my fellow citizens for electing such a jerkoff.
Bacall has what today's so-called actresses lack; class, style, talent, actual looks, poise and intelligence. Neither Hollywood or any of today's young (25 & under) can match her gifts.
Sultry! One of my favorite actresses.
Whenever I see her in her satin dress in "To Have or Have Not" is when I have to go to my bunk.
The difference between Bacall, A. Hepburn, K. Hepburn, Grace Kelly even Yvonne de Carlo and the actresses today is that the actresses of yesterday were uniquely individual. Today everybody looks like Jennifer Aniston except for Sarah Jessica who looks like Jennifer Aniston with a horse face. The same is true of the male actors. Who can tell Toby Maguire from Elija Wood from Jake what's his last name? The only interesting (and different) actors hail from the UK and Australia (Cate Blanchette, Gerard Butler, Clive Owen…)
This, I gotta see.
i think she wnt my phone number!
Man, this is scary stuff…I found the draft UN treaty on Global Climate scam and started to excerpt it on my web site.
Thanks for the heads up!

Lauren Bacall is a broad : )

The difference between actresses now and then is mainly that back then they had acting skills, were given good parts which allowed them to show their skills and they all exuded character and class.
Now……..
She is a foul mouthed B…………….itch, who treats sales people like dirt and has always been a faaaaaaaaaaaaar lefty.
Good actress………………………lousy person.
You left out looks. Today's American actresses and actors are almost indistinguishable from each other, can't act at all, and mumble.
That's why I hardly ever watch a modern movie, but am glued to TCM.

LOL!! LOL!!! LOL!!!! I love it.
Thanks
Bacall was 20 y/o when she married Bogart who was 45 y/o.
No one will ever mistake me for an Obama fan, but supporters claim that he wasn´t trying to shake hands, just introducing the American delegation to the Russkies. If you watch closely, it is possible. The gesture at the very end clearly is not an attempt to shake hands.
Doesn´t change the fact that the Russians have taken the concessions (missile defense, public submission) and demanded more, with us getting zero help regarding Iran. This is what Hillary and Barry are passing off as "smart diplomacy".
Thanks for sharing this–brought tears to my eyes.
It's really sad to see how far off track we are as a nation.
I love that video… Thanks for cheking it out.

I was also wondering whether it was even real or whethera program likePhotoShop was used.
I just looked again, and it is more likely than not that you have it right.
TY
No To Have and Have Not? Actually, don't know which I would drop from the list, and I think it's great that you have The Big Sleep first– which is FAR better than The Maltese Falcon– but if all you're in it for is Bacall, then Have Not is the ticket. Yowzah!
They don't make 'em like that anymore…
I thought it was Milla…I can't remember her name. From The 5th Element. Resemblance is uncanny.
No one can copy her uniqueness. it's a great mix of style and intelligence, (her politics aside), when combined successfully, is REALLY sexy and timeless, and she was equally adept at drama and comedy.
I like: To Have and Have Not, The Big Sleep, Dark Passage.Key Largo, Designing Women, and The Shootist. She was interesting, too, in the TV movie about Doris Duke, co-starring with Richard Chamberlain. Lauren Bacall carved out HER OWN PLACE in movie history, which is quite an accomplishment when you look at today's mass produced, snip nose cupcakes and their less than memorable movies.
