Wow … it's only after seeing the list of all these programs that I realize how little TV I actually watch.
So now I have to ban my kids from watching some of their favorite shows on Disney because Obama wants to indoctrinate them? This is ridiculous!

Actually, better yet, since I'm always watching them anyway, I will point out how they should volunteer… at a church, collecting donations for the military, running a business, getting people off welfare, etc…
What they try to do is keep this under wraps so no conservatives will find out about it and complain. They know conservatives are bound to watch the Middle more than other shows so that would blow their cover! LOL

why is anyone surprised at this? the Americorp/Vista bill which passed easily by both Dems and Reps called for just this type of action. When they got caught trying to make 'volunteerism' mandatory (don't ask!) from womb to tomb, they dropped that wacky idea from the bill and instead inserted (the last possible paragraph) that a 'commission' would be appointed to study the feasibility of making volunteerism mandatory. This passage followed those for plans to establish 25 campuses across the country to train 'drop-outs, youngsters from reform school (not 6 yr. olds carrying cub scout sporks), those at risk, those who may potentially be at risk and those with language problems'. The training will enable these kids to audit energy and help in times of national emergency such as Katrina or unknown disasters. Isn't that just what you want helping you during an emergency….a drop-out criminal youth who can't read? He/she will have been rehabilitated, of course, so not to worry. If anyone has any illusion about the stealth coercion this administration is willing to exert in order to get a docile populace, this should end it. Read the Bill, fellow morons, so you won't get caught by surprise.

Seriously, people. TURN OFF YOUR TVs and do something else. These shows are GARBAGE, all of them. Read a book, go play with the kids, balance a checkbook or take up a hobby. Just tune out of this crap. I watch maybe an hour of news most days, or an hour of science shows, something like that. I feel much better.

I'm stunned, stunned that South Park is not on this list. However I can't help thinking they'll take care of this in their own way. BTW, there are three shows I watch regularly on TV, and all three are on that insane list. Time to cancel my satellite provider and buy South Park on DVD.

I read the list twice and there is not one single show on that list that I ever watch. I find the majority of the sows churned out for TV consumption are basically crap, and I prefer to have a real life. I'll block the Disney channel for the week so my kids can avoid the brainwashing.

They didn't play along on Chuck, either. Chuck and the gang were on the Stanford campus and there were global warming information tents set up. Students were handing out flyers and Chuck and Sarah were not really interested. Then, one of them walked up to Casey. He said, “Oh, you wanna save our environment, huh? Take a shower, hippie!”
It was more annoying this past season when Sarah walked up and said, "You want to try our new flavor, Obama Guava?" She works in a frozen yogurt place. But, she looked uncomfortable saying it and said, "Hey, I didn't name it."

Most of the stuff we watch is from the DVR so we watch it a day late and fast forward past the commercials (except the ones for Apple), so we miss the iParticipate propaganda. Anything else that I watch is usually from TCM, so other than scripts by Dalton Trumbo there's not too much left-wing crap.

Yes, parents, please don't let you young, impressionable children watch Disney. Disneyland/Wworld announced (last week) that there will be free entrance to the parks for proof of volunteerism. Would they accept the letter from the non-profit organization that I volunteer for to drive elderly patients to their doctor's appointments? Meh, they've been inputting thought control into television since day one. I watch 5 shows from that list and my "i hate hollywood" button is pressed in every single episode. I recognize it and ridicule at every chance. Many of us are already towing the rope for our non-thinking peers, this at least highlights it in writing.
Unfortunately a lot of shows I watch/DVR regularly are on the list. Fortunately my two favorites are not. As for the rest – too bad, so sad – won't be watching. I DVR all my shows since I HATE commercials. I can catch up on a week's worth of TV on a Sunday afternoon. Aah….praise the DVR gods!
That being said, I am very glad I do not have children in my household currently. This situation is extremely disconcerting to say the least. I am "old enough" to be immune to this childish sort of brainwashing. But what about those who are not? Will a significant portion of our young, impressionable pre-teen to teenage daughters be compelled to "volunteer" for Planned Parenthood after next week? Will we, as parents, be stunned by their willingness to "volunteer"?

Last year, I nearly gave up watching 24 – one of my all time favorite shows. In the beginning the writers damn near emasculated Jack, the show's hero. To add insult to injury, I had to watch (while blood shot out of my eyes) Ms. Garafano (spelling?) TRY to act as if she cared about freedom and the USA. I have promised myself that if she is on the show next year, I WILL not watch it.
I am too old (and have enough books and DVD's) to spend my time watching a show or an actor/actress that is abhorrent to me. I may not make a difference, but then again, I may.

I love the fact that with two small children I really only get to watch a few shows via DVR so I fast forward through all of the commercials anyway! Sorry…just had to relish in the fact for a minute (my small victory)! Although I will use it as a reminder for my chidren to volunteer at their church and to volunteer to teach those about what is going on around them. So thanks to those wonderfully motivated and high moral celebrities for the reminder!
