What about bringing up his assertion that unemployment would not go above 8% when the porkulus was passed, and we've only managed to stay below double-digit unemployment by vigorous number massaging!

Indeed. Armisen at least tried to sound like BHO in the lead-up to the election and shortly afterwards (e.g., The "I Play it Cool" Digital Short). But this performance was just Armisen's voice- with a touch of a New Yawk accent to boot. SNL should have gotten this guy: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/5aa7aae6c6/obama... Many countries in Europe are trying to roll back their socialist governments. Angela Merkel in Germany won reelection on a tax cutting agenda. Also, the Eurozone countries that didn't pass mega stimulus are pulling out of recession.

I found Armisen's imitation of Obama to be poorly exectuted. It sounded like he was just speaking in his own voice. I can do Obama better than Armisen. All I have to do is channel Reverend Wright.

GS post, "It’s a start for SNL; maybe they can dig their way back to actually being funny instead of partisan hacks". They have always been partisan hacks..I have been watching them for thirty years now..since the first show. Given the current political climate they feel they no longer have to keep up the pretense. But we are seeing this throughout all the cultural institutions from the media to the universities, to the schools. Its now right in your face..their agenda is clear..their attitudes about capitalism, traditional values, fly over country, and religion are not tempered or hidden but loud and clear and in your face! That's what, "Yes we can, " is all about. So this is no surprise for the staff of Big Hollywood..they know whats going down.

Lisa you are so right, and if he got rid of the lobbyists and just some of the corruption in Washington he would be a hero…..just lower taxes and help everyone in the country instead of paying off his thug friends!

I actually like the idea where Obama calls press conferences on contrived crises and he says basically nothing in grandiose style.

"You know…today we have a crisis….too many little boys are playing with GI Joes and not enough are playing with Barbie dolls…and too many girls are sipping imaginary tea at their little tea parties…What we need today (loud booming echo – even at small press conference)…is a bold new strategy…to make young boys more effeminate, more passive, less accepting of forced gender roles…and we must get these little girls away from their tea parties as quickly as possible…so today I am endorsing… the Dangerous and Subversive Toy Act of 2009…instead of dangerous games like GI Joe and tea parties, our goal is to make every young child as effeminate and as afraid of guns as possible…"
