August 25, 2005 — Daily Mail: A Polanski threesome which included 15 year-old Nastassja Kinski:
On his first night off from rehearsals for the Bavarian State Opera’s production of Verdi’s Rigoletto, Polanski went out to dinner with a German critic and two young women.
Afterwards, the four returned to Polanski’s two-bedroom hotel suite.
The director took one of the girls to bed while the critic took the other, but when Polanski emerged from his room during the night he discovered that the critic had gone home, leaving his date – who called herself “Nasty” – sprawled in an armchair in the sitting room.
Polanski immediately invited her to join him and his partner for what was later described as a “threesome”, and she agreed.
The girl’s name, he learnt later, was Nastassja Kinski – an aspiring actress who was destined to star in his 1979 film Tess.
She was just 15, and he was 43.
Polanski’s own words from his memoir:
Nastassia introduced me to her mother, who discussed her career with me [...]. That was when I first learned Nastassia’s age. She was only fifteen.
We made love more than once during my three months in Munich. [...] On the night we met I’d thought her a couple of years older than her friend, who was, in fact, seventeen.

March 28, 1977 – Time Magazine: More underage girls?:
Polanski, whose reputation for dating teen-age girls is well known in Hollywood, seemed remarkably unchastened by the impending legal action that could ruin his American career. Three days after his arrest he appeared at a fashionable restaurant accompanied by a girl who looked not a great deal older than the age of consent.
August 9, 1977 — Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Polanski admits to knowing the girl’s age at the time of the rape and had at first intended to claim the victim made everything up until he learned actress Angelica Huston intended to testify against him.

The Nastassja Kiski affair got A LOT of publicity back in the day, and made her famous before she was cast in Tess. Then again, rumor has it that Kinski and her father didn't have the most healthy relationship either.

angelica huston was present in the home at the time of the rape. she initially took his side. however, she decided to testify against polansky (which is why he took the plea) when the d.a. agreed to drop cocaine possession charges against her.

Not surprising given that child rape/molestation is one of the most recidivist of all crimes. In fact, a large number of forensic psychiatrists believe that rehabilitation of such an offender is not possible. When I look closely at the details of Polanski's criminal case, I find it hard to believe he had not done the same (or similar) thing before, and most likely after. And isn't it ironic that Poland, Polanski's homeland, recently passed laws allowing the chemical castration of certain sex offenders.
As they say on most crime shows, "These are never isolated incidents."

I think you overlook the fact that Polanski makes wonderful films.
Polanski is just one pervert that got nailed more ways then one. This is a common practice in Hollywood. Those of us that work in Hollywood we hear all the stories of the same people for years doing the same things for years. Polanski just got caught. This isn't an isolated moment in 1977. This is a life style for a lot of these great wonderful talented perverted drug addicts actors, directors, producers and the funny thing is that they all have one major thing in common, they are all leftist rich spoiled malcontents. They actually believe they are above the law, just read all the people who are defending Polanski. Are they all defending him or the lifestyle they have either participate in or accept it as a casting tool. The question is up to the reader and that is the way it is in 2009.

I dont think most of us are shocked to learn that many in H'wood are depraved. Ironically, Polanski dedicated the movie "Tess" (1979) to his late wife, Sharon Tate, who was killed in 1969 by the Charles Manson Cult. Before her death, she had read the novel by Thomas Hardy and believed it would make a great film. Tate gave Polanski a copy of the novel as she boarded the liner back to the United States, the last time they would see each other. The dedication in the beginning of the film simply states "to Sharon." The main character, Tess played by Nastassja Kinski, is raped by her cousin and prostitutes herself to him for her family's survival. P.S. No happily ever after here.
