September 24, 2009Today we became aware of a video that was placed on the internet which has been reported in the media. The video is of a class of students singing a song about President Obama. The activity took place during Black History Month in 2009, which is recognized each February to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country. Our curriculum studies, honors and recognizes those who serve our country. The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized.

This teacher needs to be dismissed as should any teacher that brings politics into the school. While it would be absurd to accuse Obama of coaxing this teacher to do this, I have no doubt that this is part of his agenda. Since he can't run a campaign on substance or character, the next best thing is, what else, popularity. He only needs to make himself a household name and in the next election they will chose him without even bothering to think. They don't need to believe, respect or trust him….they just have to like him.

I was thinking the same thing. Hope they don't plan to be successful when they grow up. If so, they'll probably wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, remember this "innocent" event, and curse their young stupidity (and the obvious agenda of their teachers).
My 20-something nieces are big supporters of the president and aspire to well-compensated careers. Me? I'll be retiring soon enough, but I hope I'm there to see the look on their faces when they realize they'll be the ones paying dearly for this lunacy throughout their working lives.

I actually saw a story like this years ago about parents who had rigged their TV to work off pedal power. Kids traded off exercise for TV watching…as I recall, they became big fans of reading.
Interesting book. I found a water damaged copy in my Grandfather's library, so I couldn't read the whole thing, but what I did read was fascinating. If I remember correctly, it was written by one of his generals. he stated the single most important event leading up to WWII was Hitler taking his step father's last name.
He said there is no way they could ever have ginned up the German people into such frenzy with "Heil Schicklgruber."
The few that do wake up and question will still be told 'It's all Bush's fault'.

The creepy factor is way high for me on this one. My children currently are enrolled in a program that sends out parental permision slips for everything from participation in wood working to "good touch, bad touch" lessons. I wonder if the parents of these children had any idea what the children were participating in.
First part reads:

My FIL's Hungarian is a bit rusty, and he couldn't translate some of the words.

Isn't it wonderful that a school can push agendas on innocent children of unknowing parents – that is one side of the mouth. And at the same time, from the other side of the mouth, state recordings were not authorized. Their defense of unauthorized recordings in situations whereas the hands are caught red in the cookie jars – just purely indefensable and a non-sensical defense.
BTW – Black History Month ain't about Obama, it s much more than that. It is not be used as a ruse to push political agendas, nor to push ideolgies off on young, innocent kids with unssuspecting parents. They are in school to learn, not get socialized.

Allow me to give you a little comfort. The kids who attend my daughter's Catholic high school are great. They're smart, polite, knowledgeable, well mannered.

I don't remember anyone saying disparaging things in my schools during the Carter years, and I grew up in a very conservative neighborhood, and Carter was horrible.
As has already been said, if anyone tried this during GWBush's term, the teacher would lose their job immediately. My wife was a school teacher in the Boston school system and got a heavy reprimand in 2002 for mentioning to a student who was saying disparaging things and Bush that we should respect the President. Later that year her contract was not renewed.

The response from the school district is perhaps one of the lamest excuses I have ever come across. If such a thing happened when Bush was still President, a song praising Bush, the teacher would have been fired and the school district would be crying for forgiveness.

My kids went to public school and I've got one conservative and one self-proclaimed "libertarian". What saved my kids is, neither one of them paid any attention to a thing their teachers said. Including the academic curriculum, so there's a trade-off…
