Bill Cosby: ‘Racism is playing a role in recent outbursts against President Obama.’
by Big HollywoodFrom Cosby’s Facebook page:
I agree with President Carter that racism is playing a role in recent outbursts against President Obama. During President Obama’s speech on the status of health care reform, some members of congress engaged in a public display of disrespect. While one Representative hurled the now infamous “you lie” insult at the President, others made their lack of interest known by exhibiting rude behavior such as deliberately yawning and sending text messages ….
Various polls prior to the election indicated that between five and ten percent of Americans would never vote for an African American president. That number, of course, only includes those who actually admitted to their prejudice. How many others harbored such feelings but did not respond honestly when asked the question? And how many people oppose Obama’s plan because the President is African American?
In “Birth of a Nation,” D.W. Griffith used white actors in black face to portray black legislators as having low intelligence and acting like fools. Today, we have a band of real life congressional fools seemingly bent on blocking any meaningful reform of the health care system. But if we allow even one American to die simply because he or she cannot afford treatment, we are creating a shameful scenario that could aptly be called “Death of a Nation.”

Bill you're still a funny guy.
Pudding pops
there goes another one of my fav actors/comedians
A little bit of damage control, Bill?
Obama approval goes from 70% to 50%. Did 20% of Americans just realize they are racists? I guess that is liberal logic at work. HELLO!!! – It's his frickin' policies!!! How many times and how loud must we scream this?!!?
I used to like Bill, thought he had some common sense. I guess he likes Obamas policys.
I wonder where the racism was when Bush was often booed down during joint-session speeches, and pans of the crowd had people talking to each other, texting, among other things.
Bill of all people should know this has nothing to do with racism.
O'bama's policies wil NEVER be held accountable… their ultimate failure will be blamed on the low intelligence and racist fools who don't know their place…. hmm, has a ring of irony, no? That my friend… is the true tale of “Death of a Nation.”
Gimme a break, the blacks and hispanics are the biggest bunch of racists' on the planet
oh, believe it…
What…because Obama is bi-racial…anything against his policies are racist against WHICH race…black or white? Make up your mind Cosby…the voters said he is the first Black President…so they elected him on basis of race…yet his mother and grandparents that RAISED him raised him in a white environment. His Black father abandoned him and never say him but once afterwards. He has no black heritage other than what he claims NOW…so how is this RACCIST to attack his truthfulness or policies as PRESIDENT. Seems like victimization and excuse making to treat a Black race of citizens with preferential deference.
The Biggest Lie is Viral: Obama's mother was White and his father was African, so why does the media keep calling Obama a "Black President"? He is a Bi-Racial President! I think it is racist to dismiss his white ancestry. The Left tried the same thing with Tiger Woods and Tiger said he wasn't black, he was multi-racial and was proud of all his ancestries. How about the truth?
Bill, I respected you until this recent 'tirade'. You state that "various polls prior to the election indicated that between five and ten percent of Americans would never vote for an African American president." How many additional African Americans turned out to vote in this most recent election compared to 2004 simply because an African American (actually, half-black half-white) was the nominee? Answer: 2 million. How is that not racist? Nominate a white man or woman, and African Americans will stay home. Nominate an African American, and blacks come out in droves–not because they necessarily agree with his politics and philosophy (which was essentially the same as Hillary Clinton's), but due to the color of his skin. You have bought into this notion that any disagreement with President Obama's ideology is considered racist. Explain this to me then: for those Blue Dog Democrats who disagree with Obama's desire to institute a health care public option, are they racist? How about those who disagree with his intent to close Guantanamo Bay? Racists? How about those who don't enjoy basketball as much as him? RACISTS! It is so easy–especially for African Americans–to play the ol' race card any time disagreement ensues; what you fail to realize is that Americans have awakened to this tired tactic. It doesn't work anymore.
Bill Cosby certainly knows about rascism and rascists…In fact, he is married to one. "Public Display of Disrespect"???? Was this man in a effin' COMA for the last 8 years? What is truly rascist is…the left want the first (half) black President to be treated differently than all other Presidents who have come before him. Yes, America is soooooo rascist that it made Mr. Cosby the most beloved, wealthy, number 1 TV personality in this country for over a decade…only to be replaced by the Ku Klux Klans favorite celebrity… Oprah. What a D-Bag… Also, what the hell is this old man doing on Facebook? Trolling for friends Mr. Cosby? Lonely much?
YAWN – another black man that thinks all non-blacks are racist against blacks. Did I just say black? I must be a racist.
Obama is a man of bi-racial ancestry and I think his mother might ask why her genes are so easily ignored.
Bill, you're killing me. I love the stand-up, and respected and agreed with the personal responsibility talk, but really? You're going to play that card, too. Break my heart.
Reform of the health care is just a slogan. It doesn't mean anything. What people are talking about is reforming medical coverage, the statists have a agenda of more government intrusion, the small limited government individual people, want a free market solution (unlike what is present now). Talk about "Death of a Nation" that scenario is limitless government intrusion in my personal choices AND my responsibilities.
well, i guess that means either i support the one, or i am a racist. then i am a racist. i'm not disagreeing on race terms with the socialization of our country, but i am being blamed on race terms. my dad escaped from a former soviet controlled country (hungary), for the take over of them by socialists. he keeps asking me where he can go now if we do the same wrong things that were done in old hungary. does anybody know now where to go to escape socialism??
Truly a disappointment. Pre-Obama, I heard Bill give some excellent motivational speeches to Black America. Now this dribble. Bill do you love Obama's policies just because he is black? Sure looks like it.
let us not forget the emphasized phoy clapping and eyerolls of Senator Clinton during Bush's address to Congress immediately after the September 11, attacks.
let us not forget the emphasized phony clapping and eyerolls of Senator Clinton during Bush's address to Congress immediately after the September 11, attacks.
There are times when Cosby seems to go off the deep end (remember his position on the Tawana Brawley brouhaha?) and other times when he makes a lot of sense (more recent calls for the black community to get its act together). I'm not sure what to make of these recent comments. He doesn't strike me as a committed ideologue. He also doesn't strike me as someone who is playing the race card for political purposes. Even so, he's wrong to suggest that opposition to Obama is based on racism. In fact, I suspect that opposition to Obama's policies and programs has been muted specifically because he is black. Some who would ordinarily oppose such programs have been cowed by the cries of "racism" coming from pro-Obama forces, and some who still speak out are likely being more circumspect about it. It's a shame that the first "post-racial" president seems to be making things worse. It's a pity that Bill Cosby is a contributor to that decline.
The old term was Mulatto. But that is deemed a racist term, no?
Obama is a man of bi-racial ancestry and I think his mother might ask why her genes are so easily ignored.
So who's the real racists?
You totally nailed what I've thought all along. Obama is not Black! He just used it to get votes!
Just like he used the lie he was a church going Christian. Notice who's NOT been back to church since he was elected? Guarantee that dude is praying several times a day facing Mecca!
Racism is the new McArthism. Tatics are the same, labels have changed.
Obama is bi-racial!
So public displays of disrespect, yawning and text messaging are racist. That's some real deep, intellectual analysis Bill.
The lowest of the low…playing the race card.
If Obama was purple people would be angry….it's called: 2 wars, 10% unemployment, housing prices declining, wall street bailouts, govt spending like drunken sailors, govt run healthcare, cap and trade, etc etc
but wait…its cause he's black
America is under a spell and delusional – there is just as much white in Obama as black, his mother was white!
Guys, how hard is it to believe that there are still white racists in America? Obviously, these racists would oppose Obama. And because racism is often a very strong personal conviction, this opposition minority would no doubt be very vocal. No one is saying that all opposition is racially motivated–the fact that I even have to clarify that is ridiculous.
I don't care what color Obama is, public health care is pure socialism and I am opposed. I was opposed in 1994 when Bill Clinton tried it, and I am still opposed to it today.
Except that McCarthy was right.
I didn't realize that Marxist was a race.
I'm a racist! You're a racist! Wouldn't YOU like to be a racist too?!!!
Bill: IT'S THE POLICIES, STUPID!!!!!
Obama is half white. If I as a white man accuse Obama as lying, am I racist against whites?
I think the reasoning here is severely flawed. People don't like Obama or his policies, and it's not based on race. This is all a red herring. I'm getting angry that this country has stooped so low that we can't or are not allowed to criticize our President, and if we do we're somehow racist. How ridiculous and Anti-American is that!?
Ya see it's like this, ya see, ya got a vanilla pudding pop and a chocolate pudding pop, ya see, and you put them together, ya see, and now you got a black pudding pop, ya see.
LOL, Cosby done gone dumb. He thinks if BO were white, we would support Cap & Trade, socialized rationed health care, 9T debt, terrorist hugging, ACORN/Weatherman corrupt payoffs, abortion et al??? I think the one-eyed monsters from his old comedy routine must have really rattled his brain. Bill, yo synapses ain't snapping.
There have been racially charnged comments made about obama, there is no reason to deny that. The problem arises when that motive is attributed without a clear reason for it. It simply taints the whole discussion with racial innuendo. THAT is the problem, and is a distinction I'd like to see a lot more frequently.
It has nothing to do with race Bill. He is a horrible excuse for a President. God help us from these race baiting idiots!
I just lost my respect for Bill Cosby. He is a talented comedian and actor, but I just lost all respect for him. I thought he was smarter than this. Jimmy Carter is demonstrably the worst president in American history and a race baiter to boot. Carter has demonstrated over the years his hatred of Jews. He supports Hamas and other terrorist organizations. Now Jimmy Carter thinks that when a white congressman disagrees with the President, who happens to be black, or more correctly haf-black, that this constitutes racism. Nice try Carter, but the vast majority of Americans are not going to buy into it. Take your warped racist philosophy somewhere else and try to peddle it Jimmy Carter. No one is buying that crap here!!!!
Folks, folks, folks! Obama did lie. There is an ammendment to the house health bill that would include funding for abortions. Obama said "no money for abortions or for illegals health". Everyone is debating whether it was a racist comment. How about debating whether it was a truthful statement. I think Wilson was telling the truth, Obama was not.
And "all this disrespect" towards Obama. Come on. No dem president in modern times has ever done so much to socialize our country.
Are there black racists? Hispanic racists? How many are left in the Obama admin. and in the Congress? In ACORN? Heard of The Black Panther Party? La Raza? Or are you one of those who believes that minorities CAN'T be racists?
Excuse me, Mr. Cosby, but aren't YOU the one who said "WE ARE NOT AFRICAN-AMERICANS, WE ARE AMERICANS???/ Make up your mind! If you are an AMERICAN nobody cares where your ancestors were from!!!!!
Bill, thanks for your wise words. There is no question the ugly "destroy Obama" mentality is rooted in racism for many. Some, of course, are reacting only to his policies, but a good many will never accept a black president. Obama has been in office only a few months, and has acted with dignity and good intentions (whether you agree with him on policy or not). On the other hand, in Bush II's 8 years in office, his policies — including an ill-premised war in Iraq and a pointless tax cut that went mostly to the top 1 percent of income earners — piled up debt and the bodies of brave young Americans. Yet the ugliness and disrespect directed at Obama eclipse anything Bush encountered (except for maybe the shoe incident). The only explanation for such a gross imbalance is racism. As you noted up to 10 percent of Americans admit they would NEVER vote for a black president. Those same people would never support a sitting one either. End of story.
I HATE creepy, divisive and intolerant Identity Politics of racism, sexism, genderism, gayism, colorism, classism, and environmentalism.
Anyone have a problem with this?
If so it sucks to be you.
While I would love to disagree with Mr. Cosby on this, I won't, at the risk of being labeled a rascist.
Wow, now Cos is a spokeman for KOOL- AID's new flavors: .Berry Sad and Berry Silly.
While I would love to disagree with Mr. Cosby on this, I won't, at the risk of being labeled a racist.
I too loved Bill Cosby. I think he has been an inspiration to the African Americans in this country. He has not been afraid to tell them how they should be acting as responsible citizens, and for this, he has been criticized. However, I lost respect for Mr. Cosby when the Tawanna (sp?) Brawley incident occurred. Bill was right in there declaring the guilt of white men who didn't even exist. Racism plays both ways Mr. Cosby.
So disappointing that Bill Cosby would abandon common sense in favor of the leftist SOP of accusing anyone that disagrees with Obama as a racist.
Nevermind that Bush was treated as rudely as a president could possibly be treated…..Where was with the racist crap when Sharpton and Jackson were doing their down with whitey two-step?
Just a sad day….
This is exactly why there has been so much failure in the black community. Try something, fail, claim "Racism", give up and sit on your ass. What ever happened to fighting up hill against adversity? Everyone has done it at one time or another, why not the Black community?
While I disagree with Mr. Cosby, he is certainly entitled to his opinion. And say what you want, he also speaks from a perspective of experience which I, and many others here, will never possess. While I may recognize him as an actor/comedian/cicvic leader who has transcended racial lines throughout his career, I have no idea what discrimination he has endured. And perhaps that is a credit to him, because, despite his success, I could virtually guarantee that he has endured some. And unlike many others, like a certain former President, Mr Cosby is not afraid to call out both sides.
Instead I would inquire whether he considered the numerous "misstatements" made by the President in the months leading up to the address. The "tonsilectomy" remark, the amputation reimbursement quote, AARP support, to name just a few. Additionally, the President routinely demonizes those who stand to reap grand and exhorbitant profits by maintaining the status quo, while ignoring the windfall to be granted to big labor, a solid Democratic ally if ever there was one, by passage of Presidential style reform. As to the topic immediately preceding the outburst, well language to explicitly codify that exact prohibition had been defeated in Committee.
I too mourn the loss of civilized debate. Unfortunately, this administration would not have allowed debate at all, preferring that the bill had been passed before the August recess. Again, this was was not unusual, witness the treatment of Cap and Trade in the House. When the American people are told that they just are worthy of expressing their ideas, that they are expected to shut up and take it, and that if they dare to try to express opinions they must be wearing Swastikas (as the Speaker claimed) it leads to frustration and resentment. And that leads to rudeness. Want to raise the level of discourse? Listen and respond to the IDEAS expressed by your opponents.
Finally, I am fairly confident that Vice President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, or Senator Reid would have been treated equally as rudely as the President was. So, while it does not excuse the treatment, it does remove the race card from the deck.
Haha, I can imagine people waking up in their beds feeling differently…"Oh my God…I've caught it….RACISM!"
You know Cos, I always thought you were pretty fair minded guy when it came to all this anal retentive race crap. Only true conservatives who happen to be born black can see through the BS that this insane Jimmy Carter is spewing. Carter is nothing more then a jew hating white cracker who is still pissed that we threw his incompetent worthless ass out of the White House. How can a man like you get caught up in this farce on race with this community organizer that is in the White House. The man had a white mother, he is half white and a self-loathing one at that. The entire democratic party, the leftist cult of malcontents are the ones that are racist in this country. We conservative Americans are just fed up with being lied to by a bunch of legal extortionist who want more and more of our money just so they can keep people of all colors poor, angry and like a heroin junkie hooked on the government to give them all their needs. This is all one big shell game by the democrats to maintain power. They want to win every election and now if we even dare to use our freedom of speech we are called racist. The bottom line here is this, you want to wallow in the jim crow era that your democratic party created that is your baggage and you can carry it all over the airport. That word means nothing anymore and call me any damn name you want but I will never give up my liberty through any from of intimidation by a bunch of 60s radical cultist losers. I had more respect for you Cos, but you're just like the rest of the malcontents and here you are sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars from all your TV shows. All minorities are today reaping what you have sowed. You allowed the self-loathing white liberals to con each any everyone of you all through the 50s to today. You let them lower all the standards of excellence that this nation had maintained under the guise it was racist. They then made you slaves to their entitlement ideology and you are now so dependent on the Democratic party for all your needs and all you have to do is vote, vote, join acorn, unions and they give you the illusion you are beating white at his racist game but you never ever get out of the hell they created for you. They just make you more angry at the system. All minorities are being use in this country as a voting block and these white leftist extortionist are throwing the crumbs that fall off their table at you. If this wasn't true, then after the trillions and trillions they have taken from the achievers in this country, you know us evil white racist nazis who clings to our religion and guns, you would all be in the middle class paying your own way and having some self respect. You Mr. Cosby have been preaching about this for years and the left has attacked you on it. Now you are turning on us Americans who are just FED UP with this FDR con game that has been going on since the end of WWII. The problem we have here isn't that we don't like Obama the man is an A-hole from day one, what you can't see and what we see is that this man is the most incompetent boob to be in the White House and he is the gift that keeps on giving. The sad thing about this whole affair is that the leftist mad dogs in this country have ruin it for another Black American to ever be elected to the Presidency. I do believe that there is a black American with the values and idealism of a Ronald Reagan that would lead this country to greatness and this racial division that the cult of leftist malcontents thrive on for their existence. So you keep calling us racist all the people that are paying for all this madness because the dam is about to burst and the ideology that you are now supporting and what the left is trying to shove down our throats have never succeed when people have tasted liberty for over 233 years. We all have seen the crowds across the country and we are 14 months away from the congressional elections. We are going to use our God given rights to vote the party of slavery, jim crow, lynching, segregation and abortion out of power. Then the your so called genius of a leader will then be a lame duck. If we go after him would that be considered racist or would it be our civic duty as citizens to impeach this bum for crimes and misdemeanors against the constitution which is the law of the land. Or does skin color the law of the land today? This is what happens when you lower the standards of a nation from the educational system before WWII to what it has become. We have taken God out of our schools, our lives and this is the end result, this wonderful utopia of poop we all live in. Thank you democrats everything you touch turns to poop. I guess this makes me a racist Cos.
Poor Bill, you spoke the truth just once and got the taste slapped out of your mouth and now you want to be loved and this is your form of pennance. Look, I know you are not that shallow and I know you are not a stupid man so all that is left is agenda. This is either the forgiveness tour or you want something else…what is it Bill?
Is is so alien to believe that we think his marxist/socialist/fascist policies aren't a good fit and a little protesting is an American right or have you donned the nazi gestapo uniform and demand that we all march together? I thought Clarence Thomas was a wonderful nominee for the Supreme court, it's your "folk" who did a high tech lynchin of the man. Mel Martinez apparently was the wrong kind of latino and wouldn't come to the right decision in liberals minds either. Well you just keep playin dat ole race card, it's your last card and you are about played out.
Obama is black?
I thought he was a Socialist! Must have missed that…
My bad….
Think again JP.
Your statistics are incorrect, and many of your facts are not facts.
Fact is, it has very little to do with racism. Obama is just a jack@ss and people enjoy riding him. BTW, both Lincoln and Jefferson had black blood.
Say it ain't so Dr. Cliff Huxtable
Personally, I blame the JELL-O, with the pudding pops, and the RUDYYYYY…….
Ouch…
Weren't those who opposed Hitler fascism condemned as Jew lovers? I mean, let's start comparing kosher apples. Nobody exterminates a generation of people their first day in power, not even Hitler.
I've always liked Bill Cosby. This doesn't mean he should be discarded as a rare voice of reason on racial issues. It must means that he's overemphasizing the roll of a handful of racists, forgetting that our country elected the guy with a decent-sized majority.
How on earth do the race baiters (and sadly Cosby is now one of them) think this is going to do any good? Do they think they're going to change our mind? Oh….the president is black. Nevermind. I agree with everything he says now. What. The. Heck. This is not doing our country any good and it's creating a ton of resentment among people who know damn well what they object to– and it isn't the color of the president's skin.
I don't care if what race he is for its all about the policies. I do not like the way the health bill is written and just changing the wording of it does not change the bill. It is still written and stands for the same things. They have just changed the language and have you go to another bill to refer to the health care one. ssdd
Tell you what–you PROVE that the "vocal" people are part of some "racist conspiracy" and then maybe people will listen to you. In the meantime, all I can see are regular Americans being "vocal" about the direction this country is heading.
PROVE THAT THERE IS RACISM…
Bill Cosby has obviously never heard of a Venn Diagram or a syllogism.
Gave up the Jello Pudding for the Kool Aid. Tisk, tisk, Bill…
bill, say it ain't so. i'll never look at puddin' pops in the same way…
Bill…
You're a little kid all over again, dude. Smearing Jell-o all over the floor and setting the sofa on fire, and for what?
The fake "chicken heart" you think you see on the media…
I cannot begin to tell you the reach of my disappointment in you…
I'm really disappointed in Mr. Cosby.
For a moment, I thought that Bill was going to write that the racism comes from the liberal side. As Shakespeare wrote, "Me thinks he doth protest too much." The liberals are the ONLY ones protesting the race issue so much that "me thinks that THEY are the racists." I am so surprised at Mr. Cosby. Here was a man I admired. I never saw him as black/white/hispanic/middle eastern/asian/etc. I only saw him as a good man with a great concept that the individual is responsible for himself, not the government being responsible for the individual. Is hell starting to freeze over yet?
I'm fed up with being called a racist no matter what I say against B. Hussein Obama. There's a reason people are so vociferously opposed to his administration: He's a socialist! We hate all the socialists, not just the black ones, and it's not because they sympathize the first black president either. It's because they have anti-American, anti-capitalist agendas, as evinced by their ongoing federalization of formerly free-market systems because they went into panic mode. Wake up, people. Market fluctuations are normal, and so is a revulsion to damaging overreactions to those fluctuations. Race has nothing to do with it.
Wrong. The racism assertion is the left's feeble attempt to stifle debate. You demonstrate that here by conjoining racism assertions with terms like "there is no question…" or "End of story." There is no imbalance, the bile heaped on GWB by your side was borderline psychotic. Your side is habitually on the wrong side of history and this country's best interest. You have no worthwhile defense so you hide behind speech codes, PC newspeak, yellow so-called journalism and finding racists around every corner. Get over yourselves…Obama is losing the debate.
Hmmmm…I guess you can't really call it racism when the Democrats booed Bush during the State of The Union address….so maybe it isjust that the Democrats have no class, no manners, are a just rude bastards…
If 5-10 percent of white people would never vote for a black president, how many blacks would always vote for a black president rather than a white president if given the choice? 95%?
According to government statistics, approximately 3 million Americans have lost their jobs since the recession began in December 2007. The question is, how much of this unemployment is attributible to Bush's policies and how much is attributible to Obama's policies? The honest answer is we don't know yet because President Obama has not been in office long enough for the full effects of his economic policies to have taken hold. Yet in the first nine months of his presidency, there appears to be little or no improvement in the employment picture for most Americans. The official unemployment statistic is still rising and is expected to continue to rise above 10 percent. My question is: will the race baiters like Jimmy Carter yell "foul" or "racism" if this situation prevails and the majority of the American people reject Barack Obama in the next election cycle of 2012. To put this in context, would African Americans be legitimately labelled as racists if they rejected a white president who had promised them more and better jobs, but didn't deliver?
Bill, Thanks for TELLING LIKE IT IS – whether it's saying that some small number of Honkies hate Obama or saying that Blacks must take responsibility of their actions & not blame Whities for their plight, you have the COURAGE to tell the TRUTH.
So sad. Even if it WAS racism, and I'm not saying it was. This is just shutting down any critical thinking of Obama and will make the election of a Black person harder in the future – because who wants to vote for someone who will call you names.
Mr. Cosby still has my respect. Unlike any other black man he has raised more awareness on the real issues and solution facing the black community. I respectfully disagree with his assessment in this case. Are there some affected negatively….SURE. But that is true in any case, any culture, any country. America is far above and ahead when it comes to this. No other nation on the face of this planet could have done what america has done during this election. We as a society have paid enough attention to cure the RACE related problem in this country and now it is just becoming a distraction in progress and bit OD'd at times. BTW, FYI….I am neither BLACK or WHITE. I have lived half my life on the other side of the globe(India) and half in this country, with decent education, decent family structure, worked half my carreer in corporate environment and half in business. I think I have a good exposure to diverse systems and views.
I'm not black, never been racially profiled or subject to any sort of discrimination on account of my skin color, so I do not know where Mr. Cosby is coming from. I assume he is an honest man, he always seems to have been. He has caught a lot of heat from the African-American community for stands he has taken before, so you can't say he is knee-jerk. I cannot, however, disagree any more strongly with his assessment of the health care debate. To simply assume that opposition to it is rooted in racism is to ignore the fact that conservatives have ALWAYS been opposed to this form of health care, even when the president was not a black man. He should also recall the booing Bush received at the State of the Union in 2005 as evidence boorish behavior happens. Let's not cheapen actual racism by calling every opposition to this president the same and calling half the country bigots.
I respect and admire Bill Cosby. I will certainly listen when he says this and when Juan Williams makes a similar comment. However, I respectfully disagree with there views.
In my humble opinon that extreme anger is based on 3 things:
1. Whether you view HW and W as good, bad, awful, or wonderful presidents, they were good and decent men. They were NOT racists. They tried to reach out to minorities. Many see those efforts as being @hit on. The people angy with Obama resent the outrageous hatred of W and HW. They resent the NAACP runing adds accusing W of being the car dragging death of a black man simply because W opposed hate crime legislation. I happen to be one in this group.
2. There are some (less than 5%) who are bigots.
3. Obama has gone out of his way to pit whites against blacks, rich against poor, haves against have nots. He is an extremely divisive man. He thrived on hate in Chicago and cannot rise above it.
Race is part but only a very small part of this problem.
Same here. I'm wondering if he believes in the 9/11 truth'ers too? If you can't speak out against your president then we run the risk of living in tyranny. I'm saying this being a former Democrat. I went back to being an Independent because of this nonsense.
Red, I was thinking the exact same thing (re: your first paragraph)!!!!!!!!!
I guess that, in Bill Cosby's defense of Jimmy Carter's position that opposition to president Obama is a form of racism, he forgot that Mr. Carter referred to Obama as "this black boy" during the presidential campaign.
http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?RsrcID=3...
Whites are NOT the only racists on this planet. Only the ONLY one's to be constantly accused of being racist. We're all racists now, I suppose. It's a shame that Cosby for all the wealth & success he's acheived would stoop so low. He after telling a truth about personal responsibility. He has now angered, and alienated a good percentage of his audience, who applauded his stance, dispite what the race hustlers did in rebuking him.
Bill, as a Temple grad, I love ya . But you've got it wrong here.
Bill was one of my heroes, and I guess he still is for messages about school and personal responsibility. But to extrapolate like the dunce Carter did that racism dominates the drivers against Obama because there are a few marginalized racist out there, is bone stupid. There will always be people who hate because of color, creed, or gender, always has been always will. So what, we live among idiots, whats new? Colin Powell could of been elected president a decade ago due his years of distinguished service, now we elect a black man with zero accomplishment and no service to speak of, just because he sounded good,.,. how can we be racist? Now that he governs in a fashion that will strip the rights of many and cost us a fortune, we revolt, fools like Carter and sadly Mr. Bill, call it racism.
C'mon Bill….get real.
You're starting to sound like Al Sharpton now.
C'mon Bill….get real.
You're starting to sound like Al Sharpton now.
Actually, many on the left are saying that all the opposition is racially motivated…Bill Cosby just said it. Are you even paying attention?? Jimmy Carter just said it. Fidel Castro said. Howard Stern said it. Nearly every member of the Congressional Black Caucus said it. The fact that I have to clarify this shows that you are truly ignorant of what has been going on.
I have always respected Bill Cosby and I always will despite this misguided missive.Having said that he needs to realise that it is not racism. In the spirit of Bill and Hill,"It's the Socialism, stupid."
La Raza!!!!
I'm with you pricetastic. I would very much like to see how Bill and all of the others explain why all of the white presidents were lampooned, villainized, endured cat call, and were even assassinated. I guess there are an awful lot of people who are racists – they just hate white men.
Calm down, it is a facebook page which may not even be Bill Cosby. It could be some dork in a basement writing that.
Most celebrity facebook pages have no official connection to the actual celebrity. Maybe the person who reported this needs some journalistic integrity and try to contact Bill Cosby directly to see if the statement is his.
Cosby: "In “Birth of a Nation,” D.W. Griffith used white actors in black face to portray black legislators as having low intelligence and acting like fools."
So….. little has changed. Except the low intelligence and acting like fools has always been par for the course for All bureacrats once they make it to Washington… However, how do you explain Cynthia Mckinney, Mr. Cosby?
Or maxine waters… charlie rangel, … and what of the criminal bent, Mr. Cosby. Talk about that why dontcha…
Give it a break, Mr. Cosby. Playing the race card like fools is gonna be the downfall of the Liberal party.
America is an equal opportunity nation. No one is immune from prejudice.

I have to prove to you that racism still exists? How naive are you?
Yep… any whitey knows they can be hated simply for their skin color. Racism is not exclusive to any color… duh!
If we had elected A REAL BLACK AMERICAN we wouldn't be having these issues……..
The President is Black?!?!?!?! I have been so busy marveling at what a communist he is that I hadn't noticed.
Same here. It must be because of all the racists that he achieved the fame he had. Same goes for Oprah. I think they themselves perpetuate the racism angle by constantly bringing it up. I don't think it's the case anymore, or we would not have Obama in the office. He forgets that other presidents (Bush, Clinton) were also booed or had comments thrown at them on a regular basis. But I guess when you can't win based on issues, just throw down the race card. It won't work anymore.
On the other hand, let this be a lesson to us all. We really can never again elect a black president, since we are not allowed to criticize him or disagree with his policies.
It makes me sad to see Bill say this kind of junk. It also reminds me of how much Bill changed since his son was murdered. I think some bitterness set in, Perhaps, he thinks/wonders if his son was murdered for being black? I don't know, but I hope Bill gets over his bitterness.
You are totally right……..
and I'm not offended……. truth is truth.
I was going to vote for Obama, but then realized he was half-white, and I hate those crackers.
I've tried to see it from the standpoint that any of this is racist but I'm having trouble seeing it. I believe the Obama crowd is bereft of morals and are now resorting to the most base behavior-name calling. The final act is violence which is where it is heading rapidly, except this time the shoe will be on the other foot.
I quote/paraphrase Juan Williams:
Not criticizing the President is racist. We have to hold Obama to the same standard we hold any president.
There is no such title as Black President, or First Black President, or any facsimile thereof. B Obama is the 44th President of the United States. There is no color in that title.
I just had visions of 28 Days Later.
So the truth comes out…. Bill Cosby only eats chocolate pudding.
Wow, what a sad statement by Bill Cosby. After his outburst about black kids needing to pull their pants up and take responsibility, I had hope. Apparently, he was just being racist at the time. I love how he's so offended by yawning congressmen but apparently was not offended by the booing of President Bush in the same hall. I love how "you lie" is such a racist statement but "the President is sending kids to get their heads blown off for his amusement" is not worthy of any rebuke. Liberals are so funny in their hypocrisies. Luckily Bill, Amerikkka doesn't like your race baiting tactics and they don't like Obama's sprint toward socialism. If that trend continues, we may still be living in the greatest country in the world in thirty years and you still might be alive to say some more stupid crap.
Well, you didn't answer the question. Why? What does objecting to the health care bill have to do with race? If you can't logically answer the question, then you have no basis to bring race into the dialog. But you do because it's an emotional trigger designed to take away from the real discussion. The only racists here are those who are trying to inject race into the discussion and therefore perpetuate racial divisions. Did that ever occur to your naive mind? That your side might be deliberately trying to keep racial hatred stirred up for their own ends?
Really? There "is no question"? Based on what? How did you determine that "there is no question"? And how did you determine that there is a "destroy Obama mentality"? Could it possibly be maybe there is a "defeat Obama's policies" mentality? And once again, the partisan lefty must bash Bush's 8 years, and the war (even though the majority of Congress and most prominent Democrats voted for it) and the economy (even though Congress controls spending and the Democrats controlled Congress for much of Bush's presidency).
There has never been more disrespect for a president then the insults hurled at Bush during his 8 years in office (how's that for an unverifiable and absolute statement?). Obama has barely been touched by comparison.
You are truly a partisan hack with no intellectual independence.
You said: "this opposition minority would no doubt be very vocal"
Prove that. You are insinuating that the people being vocal against the policies of the president are somehow over-represented by the "vocal" racist minority in this country. And I asked you to prove that because, frankly, I think that is garbage.
OMG, I just snorted my lunch out my nose! LMAO………
You forget the Japanese…
I think your first paragraph offers good insight into Bill's mind.
I doubt he prays at all. Acknowledging a Higher Power requires a certain degree of humility. Obama is a great many things; humble is not one of them.
Well, Maureen Dowd said it wasn't a lie, and I trust all journalists implicitly.
Oh, Bill. Not you, too.
What's really ironic is that when Obama was running against Hillary for the Democrat Party nomination, libs were saying that he wasn't "Black enough".
Don't forget Berry Racist.
Seems as good a place as any to shill:
http://www.cafepress.com/honestnathan
Race is just a diversion because the left can't justify policy, which is of course insane.
Yes, a small percentage of voters would never vote for Mr. Obama. Then again, no honest person would think he would have won the nomination if he weren't "Afro-American". So Mr. Cosby is correct, race is an issue here. Just not in the way he means.
Thanks!
I got a word for you racists. Stuff it. I'm tired of you. You're not funny, you're sick, you're self-pitying. You're also cowards and bullies and liars and ingrates. You're shiftless lazy losers who have made your stinking bed piled with the manure of your own actions – and now you're blaming us for the stench. Well, it's not our stink – it's yours. The excrement of racism came from your orifice – so deal with it. I'm not taking your shit anymore.
You are right that anyone is entitled to their opinion. When your opinion insults the personae of others, however, you should be prepared to face the rebuttal.
Years ago, I read a book that featured a fictional scene where a woman submitted to the sexual advances of a group of black men. Why did she submit? She was threatened with being called a racist if she didn't.
It was fiction and badly-written fiction at that. But is it far from reality today?
I am so disappointed in Bill Cosby. For a short time he was speaking out against the "black culture" and the race pimps who have been keeping the "black community" down for so long. But he also got a LOT of flack from those very same race pimps for saying the things he did. Guess Bill decided to sell out after all.
And Bill, BTW, thinking people know that Jimmy Carter is beyond a has-been. The man is senile and should stay down on the farm in Plains and keep his mouth shut. Even those of us in Atlanta consider the man a complete embarrassment. Don't think aligning with Jimmy is going to get you anywhere.
And most of the people they accuse aren't racist. Remember the tea party attendee with the AR-15? What race was he? And how did the news programs frame the shots?
Juan Williams agrees with Obama on most things, but even he says the man needs to be criticized. Giving him carte blanche because of his color is a racism all of its own.
I'd love to have a conversation with Rev King, Jr and Malcom X. The things they would say.
guess bill got tired of being called an uncle tom?
Obama is NOT an incompetent black man, he is an incompetent mixed-race man. Trust me, if a white man, with Obama's list of qualifications, attempted to run for President, he would be laughed out of the house. Blacks, and stupid white liberals, voted for Obama solely on the basis of his "race." Obama is the product of the corrupt Chicago machine and now the American people will have to suffer through four years of incompetence and socialism.
Liberals worship Obama as the Messiah, and so they can't fathom why anyone would oppose him. Obama is perfection. Therefore, there must be something wrong with YOU.
Sorry to see Mr. Cosby go down this road.
Up to this point I had considered him one of the few entertainers with common sense.
If Joe Wilson taught the racial sensitivity training courses in Congress, how quickly this story would have died.
One of the few african american leaders that commanded respect just blew it. I thought Cosby was one of a kind, but now I see that he's just another bigot who throws the race card when it suits his purpose.
I have seen co-workers play solitaire, roll their eyes at speaker comments, sleep, etc. during trainings, lectures, and whatnot. I, ahem, however, never ever did partake of such ignorant and rude behavior……Well, anyway, my head sometimes feels like it will explode from me trying to locate my racist self. Obviously, as a white person who has had a limited time out of my sheltered world, I am racist. I keep hearing it. Everytime I interact with a person who skin tone differs from mine, I, now, doubt everything I say, do or feel.
I am going to have to stop listening to the news, and now to people who I have revered all of my life. How does one simply see a person as a person? Is that possible, or given what I keep hearing, is that even right? Sometimes, I want to cry because I want my children to enjoy and learn from other people. At 3 and 5 years old, they truly love to interact with everyone, regardless of whatever makes people different. They see what is the same and they run with it. When I heard the "Liar", I did not think "racist". Is that racist of me? I need a drink.
Shut up b*tch. Go fix me a turkey pot pie.
A) Bill's wrong, absolutely and obviously wrong. In fact, Fat Albert helped tremendously in making me a color-blind person as a kid. As mentioned otherwhere in this thread, so sad after his calls for personal responsibility in the black community.
B) Not to pull a classic lefty move by changing topics, but where are Mr. Cosby’s cries of outrage over the Illinois kid getting his butt whupped on the school bus? The Tennessee kids getting brutally killed? The Ohio family this past 4th of July? Kanye’s more than likely racial outburst on Taylor Swift?
Clean up your own house please, Mr. Cosby. Then come a-cryin’.
I got yer answer right here:
Democrats are racist! For 8 years, they did nothing but attack Bush because he is white. Sure, a few didn't like his policies, but the majority disagreed with him solely on the basis of his skin color. He acted with dignity and decorum, and whether you agree with him or not, surely he deserves more respect than he got. Someone said it here: 2 million more people came out to vote for Obama than Bush. They disliked him so much on the basis of his race that they couldn't even pull themselves out of bed to vote against him.
I think ol' Cos must have died and Robert Gibbs found his facebook page. Anybody actually seen Cos lately?
Because Martin Luther King, Jr is dead. With him died the will to do better.
You're talking right past me, friend. None of that responds to my post.
The only quotation I have on hand is Cosby's. He absolutely does not say that all opposition is racially motivated. He said "racism is playing a role." He is hardly condemning all opposition as racists. I believe Carter said something along those lines as well. Your outrage is misplaced.
Good point
The racist plantation is on the left.
I can not and will not speak for anyone other than myself.
I believe that we need medical reform in this country. However, I firmly believe that we need to get it right and not just "Get it Done". This concept of voting on a 1,000 + page bill without reading it sets a course for disaster, IMO.
Further, I firmly believe that calling a person a racist only on the basis that the person disagrees with Mr. Obama indicates, to me, a definate racial bias in and of itself.
Say it ain't so Bill. Even Obama is running from the race card. Soon real racism will be ignored largely because the race baiters will have overused the complaint.
Something like 90% of African-Americans despised GWB and were rude, crude and unattractive to and about him. Is that racism?
Alright, take the birther movement for example. The birther movement is by no means representative of the nation's conservative movement or even the Tea Party movement. However, this minority was vocal enough to get prominent media coverage and a substantial internet following. Likewise, this minority is driven by what could easily be described as racism–they favor feeding their own xenophobia rather than addressing reality.
Chicago style politics to the end baby! This is who he is. He will stay above the fray and sound diplomatic and reasonable while his machine spreads the mud. Why anyone would be surprised is beyond me.
2010 is going to be ugly if you are on the left.
Judging from the scatological overtones of your tirade, you must be Jewish.
I can't catch it. I've had my shots.
I like poptarts. Does that make me a racist? Seems anymore that if I breathe the same air Obama does, the media, Bill Cosby and the Democrats will label me a racist. They've so watered down the meaning that it is meaningless. Same happened with sexual harrassment.
Wow. I've said it before (and don't know that I should say it again when making the point that it shouldn't matter), but I'm a Black person who hates that the race card is being so casually played.
When Fmr. President Bush was booed or called a liar or called a loser; when people claimed he wasn't their president while he clearly was; when he was depicted as a villain – as The Joker, nonetheless – was that about race too?
Maybe it was: Maybe it's okay to disrespect a white president in this perverse, politically correct period in our history.
I think it's about the decay/coarsening of culture. Too many people have decided that it is okay to express passion in the most uncivil and intolerant ways. If you twist your ankle is badly sprained, it's very likely you'll sprain it again. Once a ligament gets stretched, you have to know that it becomes easier to stretch thereafter.
Likewise, those who decided to display their passion in such hateful ways toward our former president had to know that they had changed the rules forever. It's sad, but you can't put that nasty, ignoble jinni/genie back in the bottle.
Are you we going to have to start flagging ourselves as racist? Where is the website? I am getting a headache from that note being played so often.
edited: "some of the blacks and hispanics are the biggest bunch of racists' on the planet"
I don't care if Obama is green. My problem is, he's a "SOCIALIST". I don't see how it's possible for any American to not have a problem with socialism, marxism, or communism. We have fought them throughout history. My Dad fought them in WWII and I'll be damned if I'm going along with them no matter what color they are.
I am sadly disappointed in Mr. Cosby . Hey Mr. Cosby -Take a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej6BlbNWQYU
Um Bill……………..what if the President actually is lying….how exactly are we to say it then, and not be all racist and all? I don't see any reference to ethnicity, religion, or even big ears in the statement "you lie", so please inform us, how is one supposed communicate that the man is not telling the truth without you seeing racism in their words. Color me color-blind, but I think the problem may be with you, Bill.
PS – You honestly think a giant government bureacracy is going t o save lives?!!!!!
Mr. Cosby, you are a flowerpot.
Oh, Bill! How could you? I thought you were so much more above it than this. Do you know how many poll takers responded that they would not vote for McCain because he was white and would specifically be voting for Obama because he was black? Obama came out with a net advantage for being black – so get off it already.
"both Lincoln and Jefferson had black blood. " Really? And what proof of that is there? None other than trumped up 'facts'.
Bill…expected more from you. You were a straight shooter telling others to stop naming kids with the African names. Should we say that was racist too? You told it like it was.
The "birthers" only got "prominent media coverage" because that "movement" made conservatives look nutty. (The Tea Party movement IS actually more representative of conservatives.) "Birthers" only have "substantial" internet followings on WND. But look how the most recent ACORN scandal was completely ignored. When speaking of the new fringe media (ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC) Pro-Obama= Great coverage, Anti-Obama=no coverage. Pro-Conservative=no coverage. Anti-Conservative=Great Coverage.
And racism is not the same as xenophobia. And xenophobia does not drive the "birthers". The laws outlining eligibility do. And, I am absolutely certain that if Sarah Palin was provably Swedish, the fringe media would have jumped on it during campaign 08.
To quote Eddie Murphy, "tell Bill to have a Coke and a smile and STFU."
Sigh. Bill, Bill, Bill…how I used to admire thee.
Chuck, you're just not talented at argument, let alone debate.
Then Cosby is mostly wrong. There may be SOME racism out there towards Obama, but MOST (like 98% most) of the anger and criticism is over POLICIES.
Why can't we call out the REAL racists? Where's the outcry over Van Jones? Who's the actual Kleagle in the Congress? How come no one is talking about Obama's anger towards whites as evidenced in his biographies???
Did Cosby just get an offer to replace Van Jones as "green jobs Czar"? Is that why he's taking the "racism" train?
That's way cool, Nathan
Man, …… who let the dogs out!!!!
next up: Colon Pow…
Maybe even Berry, Berry Racist.
Silly. Does that mean that black who criticize white politicians are racists?
Bill…it's just your OPINION–as in not a fact. And by the way, it's WRONG.
Whoa. What happened to the politically incorrect Bill Cosby a few years ago who told African Americans who kept whining about being slaves centuries ago to stop whining about race, ignore it and move forward. Now he's using the race card?
While always great comedian and television star, I sadly wonder if this 72-year-old icon is just getting a tad senile.
Close ranks African-Americans, close ranks…
ignore Obama's bad personnel, fiscal, dometic policy and foreign policy decisions…just ~play that race card~ player!
"Lastly, does the left not want another black President to ever hold office again? Cause if the American people and the Honest Media are not allowed to criticize a black President then why would we ever elect one again after this."
AMEN! I think that is very very true. I very very small percentage of Americans are racist. The rest of us could give two sh!ts about color/race. Such people do not want to live under a regime where you can't disagree with him/her about anything because you must be racist. It simply will not stand.
Exactly. But the Left either is too stupid to realize it, or too evil to care. I think it's the latter. Eventually even well-intentioned people will see the error of their ways. The Left wants power by definition. That's all they care about.
"My question is: will the race baiters like Jimmy Carter yell "foul" or "racism" if this situation [high unemployment and economic stagnation] prevails and the majority of the American people reject Barack Obama in the next election cycle of 2012."
Yes. That was part of the Dear Leader's appeal to the left.
The alleged "post-racial" president appealed to many Americans who sincerely wanted to put racism behind us, and so those well-intentioned voters did not think things through, or ask what "Hope and Change" really meant.
The left also knows that racial guilt would serve as a firewall in the event the Dear Leader's administration imploded. You think Cosby, Carter, et. al. are bad with their "racism" charges now? Just wait until 2012.
Cosby's comments are only adding fuel to an already smoldering fire. When the real racists and liberals finally do set this country into full blown civil unrest, they will stand back, survey the damage they have caused and point their fingers saying, "See? We told you so!" The "Great Uniter" ultimately ends up being the "Great Divider" after all. Who woulda thunk it?
Liberals are extremely pathetic…and predictable (like Cosby & Carter). When folks start asking the liberals and their Marxist president questions and demanding answers, the liberals resort to that old standard…"racism". OK Cosby…if that is your standard, then I'm a racist…and YOU'RE A COMMUNIST. I'd much rather be me than you.
Bill,
I sincerely believe that there were, in fact, more White Conservative Republicans who voted FOR Barack Obama in this last election precisely BECAUSE he is black. I know at least 3 such voters in my family. I and my husband tried relentlessly to remind them that they would need to LIVE with the radical policies he would introduce.
They voted against their own economic and ideological views in the HOPE that establishing a black man as President would help to PROVE that this country had evolved to a "post-racial" society.
I warned them that if they voted on the basis of race rather than the content of his character and policies, that perhaps no one HAS learned a thing from Martin Luther King, Jr.
I will NEVER support these radical policies even if I am labeled a racist.
BTW – My 87 year old Mom who voted for a black man deeply regrets that she voted on the basis of race.
I love you Bill. I don't agree with your assessment on this one.
It's a real shame to see this. Bill Cosby had my respect when he swam against the river and urged black Americans to take responsibility for their own futures and not to rely on government support.
To see him see racism in a comment that was directed at the man not his color is to see a man begin to sucumb to the mob. As far as twittering, yawning etc, that may be rude (circa the Democrats in the 2005 State of the Union) but could only be connected to racism by some wearing blinders.
Damn, I'm sorry to see that Bill fall like this.
Okay, let's try putting on our thinking caps, shall we? Just b/c there is a birther movement which may be more racist than not, does NOT mean that the rest of the objections being made to Obamacare, or any other action by the Obama Admin, are based on race. What you are missing is the fact that the "racist" accusations do not make such a distinction. They are clearly trying to make sure that outsiders think that ALL opposition to Obama is racist. Again, prove us wrong. Find me a quote by a Democrat or Obama supporter that doesn't paint everyone in opposition to Obamacare as a racist.
I gleefully await your response.
Likewise, this minority is driven by what could easily be described as racism–they favor feeding their own xenophobia rather than addressing reality.
Could you be any more asinine?
And for the record, the more we get the word "racist" thrown at us, the less impact it will have in controlling our behavior. It's a kind of immunity factor: inject weakened live virus, body builds immunity to stronger virus. Why don't we save that word for when it's REALLY needed. Then it will have more impact and will have more importance. Then action can be taken. This name calling? Little effect at least in this mixed race woman's mind. I will still scream at things that are wrong, unconstitutional, and blindingly stupid!
They have medication for that, you sick twisted freak.
You're wrong Dan about never being racially profiled on account of your skin color. Labeling you a racist for disagreeing with the President, while not sharing his skin color, is a text-book example of racial profilling.
I like the way Cosby questions whether some who answered that they'd possibly vote for a black man for President were lying, but the possibility that those who said they *wouldn't* vote for one under any conditions goes completely unconsidered. The fact is, I'll bet a large majority of the latter group would in fact vote for a black man if that black man supported all their views and was, politically, essentially a carbon copy of them.
The respondents in the survey have simply accepted the implicit assumption of the questioner in supposing that no black man could ever support their particular racial views and policy prescriptions–and perhaps the chances of it actually happening in reality are exceedingly low. But they are not zero, whereas the question is framed in an absolute way. According to Cosby, the word "never" is used in the question.
Hence, there is a very good chance indeed that a hefty proportion of that 10% have "lied" in their answer and would, in fact, vote for a black man for President under certain conditions. Their opposition is thus political and not racial, even if in general they hold what we would consider to be racist opinions.
I happened to ride the same Delta flight from LAX to Orlando as Bill Cosby. He was polite and even helped mothers with small children. It wasn't an act because I flew more than one flight with him. He was always a gentelman an earned the respect of all. He has just spoiled an image.
"End of story"? This J@ck@$$ has not endured one blast of wrath from the MSM, that President Bush endured on a daily basis. The MSM is as enamoured with this teleprompter reading jerk as you are. He's an illegal alien read his name, B. Hussein Obama. good god get a grip. I had all the respect in the world for BC until this drivel. I have read many of his peices and could see where he was coming from but this is shameless. I truelly believe that the left hated the left leaning President Bush because he called himself a conservative and many of his policies were their own, and they could not stand it. We are on a fast train to socialism, and most of the enamoured clucks that voted for this oaf have long sence "seen the light", but the die hards will follow along like the sheeple they are all the way locking heels and shooting a salute and shouting Heil Barack.
EASY BILL ! ! ! !
…"between five and ten percent of Americans would never vote for an African American president"…
It is an atmosphere put forth by blacks that in elitism, the Racial Divide is the deciding factor.
Who's racist the most?
.
.
For easy reference, look at Cosby's quote above. He's saying that racism is "playing a role" in opposition to the president. That is not an indictment of all opposition. Cosby is consciously trying to avoid attacking anyone in particular or the entire opposition movement. Any other interpretation of his words is a misreading.
Now perhaps you could do me a favor and find a quote by a Democrat or Obama supporter that does paint everyone in opposition to "Obamacare" as racist. Likewise, I await in glee.
Why on earth would I care what Bill says? I don't ask him to fix my car, figure my taxes or provide me with a medical check up. I certainly don't need his help with understanding what is and isn't racism.
Sorry, GS, never meant to hurt your feelings.
Replying to pricetastic
Didn't "sorrowful" Nancy Peloski call President Bush a "LIAR?" Didn't she also call peaceful protesters who are exercising their right to FREEDOM OF SPEECH “ASTROTURF?" (She ought to know about “Astroturf” as this is the way democrats usually get people to protest — with unions and ACORN representatives.) And BTW, didn't she also call peaceful protesters "NAZI'S?"
BUT NO! Democrat / liberal / progressive /socialists CANNOT be called names because they are HONEST, FORTHRIGHT, BRAVE, and TRUE Americans — especially when they are in POWERFUL positions!
I would bet that more non-black folks voted for hussein than black folks. There would be no way he could have won the election without the help of white and non-black folks. The fact that he is even IN office is testimony to the fact that racism is playing a smaller role. Is there racism out there? Of course. These folks who are screaming "racism" are confusing our feelings about the man versus the man's marxist policy direction. Most Americans do not appreciate this leap to the left that hussein is heading. He and his democrats will suffer the political consequences.
Comparing opponents to Nazis, eh? Now where have I seen that lately…
That's just sad. I used to have some respect for Bill Cosby. He wants it both ways. It's OK to make a big fuss when Bush talks, to berate him, to boo him when he speaks to Congress, to ignore him when he's talking, to make fun of his accent or any mis-pronunciations, but you sure can't do anything like that to a black man! No, that's just not allowed.
Bill Cosby has apparently talked a good talk in the past, but when it comes down to it, it's all really about race for Cosby just like the 95% of the black population who voted for Obama. Oh, wait, can we mention that? Is that fair to say in opposition to the 5-10% who he says WOULDN'T vote for him? Let's just put this on the scale here and see how it balances out.
America does not disagree with Obama because HE's black, it's because WE'RE not Communists! He hasn't even been President for a year now and already the country is a complete mess and ruled by Communist Czars (which is the Russian version of the word "Cesar" by the way–do we all want a bunch of little Communist Cesar's in our government?)
Open your eyes Mr. Cosby, Obama isn't even really "black". His parents weren't slaves. It has absolutely nothing to do with his color. It has EVERYTHING to do with his policies.
That's a racist statement, but there are some truth to it. The great majority of Black and Hispanic leaders use the race card to get their power and influences -read money and power-, and isolate their people from the mainstream to make them feel like victims.
I was gonna say that I think we are now finding out that McCarthy was right!
No offense, but I really want to know what other people besides Bill Cosby saying? I checked out this video for a start: http://www.newsy.com/videos/jimmy_carter_makes_hi...
Hey folks… according to Newsweek, white folks are born racist!
Does that mean it is a disase that needs treatment (or incarceration in labor camps?)
Now where have I seen that lately…
On MSNBC, on CNN, on ABC, on CBS, on NBC, in the NYSlimes, in the LASlimes, from pelosi, reid, murtha, Durbin, Garofalo, Cosby, Bill Maher, olbermann, Mathews, Dowd, Maxine waters,……..
To save space and time let me just note the entire democrat party.
Comparing opponents to Nazis, eh? Now where have I seen that lately…

Someone needs a hug!
I am not racist: not all blacks and hispanics are racist, just more; pound for pound than white people. White people put Obama into office after all. The problem with minorities in this country is NOT their genes, its their culture.
I can say the same about Asians on other races, or between different groups of Asians. You're right on when you say culture; distrust rather than hatred.
Now perhaps you could do me a favor and find a quote by a Democrat or Obama supporter that does paint everyone in opposition to "Obamacare" as racist. Likewise, I await in glee.
Jeanine Garofalo comes to mind, unfortunately.
Hmm so people do grow dumb as they grow old…. I always thought it was wisdom with age. Dang, another myth shattered!
Racism is the new McArthism. Tatics are the same, labels have changed…BINGO! DITTO! Thank you…you have summed it up….excellent observation. Have you noticed? It has worked quite well as of late..thats why they keep playing the card. Guess..what Bill..the gigs up..Americans are now seeing the bogus manipulation behind the charade and political manipulation. By the way Bill, do you know who the second most lynched group in American history was? Italian-Americans. Please, your group does not hold the corner market on racism, discrimination, misery, or slavery.
I gave you a +1 for making me laugh.
Oh, yeah..lets not leave out the Irish…have you heard of their discrimination and misery? I do not think there is a single group that has not been either enslaved or discriminated against in the last 3 thousand years by one group or another..both being master and slave. The Romans were equal opportunity enslavers.. they had both Africans and Brits in chains for nearly a thousand years. Odd is it not? White and blacks as slave brothers in the same house…
The politics of race and racism..how you can use it to advance your agenda and gain power…
"one American to die simply because he or she cannot afford treatment, we are creating a shameful scenario that could aptly be called “Death of a Nation.”
Hehehehehe……delusional…… beyond delusional…..the kind of brain that is saturated in this kind of b.ll shit should be pickled and saved for posterity………
Has Bill Cosby read Thomas Sowell's "Listening to a Liar"? Does he think Tom is a racist. What a tool. What a shame.
Has Bill Cosby read Thomas Sowell's "Listening to a Liar"? Does he think Tom is a racist? What a tool. What a shame.
You people amaze me, you know as well as I do that the "One Drop Rule" is alive and well. Black Blood makes him black". Just like Haley Berry, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey. and if you were honest you would admit that regardless of what Bi-racial, Tri-racial ,or Multi- racial people concider themselves. they are concidered as African Americans or Non White by a vast majority of people in this country unless they can Pass for White. likewise some of the rethoric does have Racist undertones. The Politics of Race and Race baiting is Universal There are Racist Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow get over it! We all bleed Red. The Whole World is Watching. Together we Stand or Divided we Fall. Semper Fi
Race trumps everything for so many people. Interesting though that it only seems to go one way. Black folks had lots of disagreements with Bush and yet it was never about race. Why is this? I know the answer, but I still asked the question anyway.
I remember Cosby talking to a woman on the E channel whose name was Artell(last name unknown to me) saying that aids was introduced into the black community by white people. Of course Artell didn't so much as blink let alone challenging him.
It's a good thing no one ever complained about Bush! They might have been labeled a _______ (fill in the blank).
You know Cos, you really disappointed me. You are full of resentment sitting up in your mansion with 400 million plus dollars that us evil whites gave you through the years because you are one talented American comedian/actor. You prefer to stand with the malcontents and call us all who use our God given rights to object to this Messiah of incompetence to drive our home into some dark age all because he hates whites and western culture. Well, call me racist, irresponsible anything you like. America is my home, my faith, my father, uncles and son have fought in combat so the insane cult of whinny malcontents can point a finger at the big bad white devils. You would think that someone with your fame, fortune and education would get over this nonsense. There isn't anyone alive in America today who hasn't have an ancestor who was a slave, hung, killed, scalped, butchered, starved, driven from their homeland in exile. We all have a bitch, the problem is get over it. Our ancestors are dead and the fly and ants have consumed them. The British have stuck it to my Irish catholic ancestors since the Norman Invasion, they did everything to us. We go on with life and look to the future. Only losers stick to the past an wallow in misery of what could have been. Who cares…. get over it and get off our backs because you are finger pointing at people have had done nothing to you except make you rich.
That's a pity. Many people liked and respected Bill Cosby — until now!
Is that in the Saul Alinsky book?
uh looks like Cosby is being "uppity".
"Various polls prior to the election indicated that between five and ten percent of Americans would never vote for an African American president."
polls are disputed a lot, but if these are to be believed… why shouldn't we call these 5-10% racist? Isn't that what they are? What other label is appropriate?
Thank you for posting this informative video. It's nice to know there is at least one person who thinks there is something good in white people.
I believe regrettably, that Cosby's son was murdered just because he had a fancy expensive car. A lot of people of any color and belief are murdered for unfathomable reasons, like having money, or drugs, or pot, or expensive clothes or cars or jewelry. And many more are murdered simply because they are women!
Bingo. If criticizing a black politician is off limits, then we can never vote for one until the "rules" change.
if there is no racism by whites against blacks in this country, then tell me this:
are you saying there never was?
OR, if you acknowledge that there was- in 1865, or in 1965 – your choice- then please tell me:
When did it stop? Why did it stop?
they are all very careful to not act racist in public.
this care began a long time ago, when folks realized that when they get together to voice their racist views, they need to wear hoods to hide their identities.
ah ha! You admit that the birther movement is racist! RACIST! RACIST! RACIST!
Now, how many of the birthers are against health reform? HMMMMM. All of them.
Don't forget Stalin. He was even worse than Hitler.
I believe that Nancy Pelosky is bereft of morals and resorting to name calling and that she is a bigot and hypocrite. I do not like her respect her SOCIALIST ideas or plans one bit.
AND SHE'S NOT BLACK — just BLACK-HEARTED!!
Well said!
Bill Cosby can go to hell too.
All this talk about racism is having the effect of rendering the word meaningless – which is a shame.
I remember when I was angry about something that was annoying me, my Irish grand parent parents told me "don't be getting your Irish up". I think whats happening here is that some black citizens are getting their black up. They take it personnel when citizens of every race and color ridicule our black president. They only see the white people. Sadly low light pols like Jimmeh Carter are playing the race card. This is getting my Irish up!
I agree.Though you could say he's Haily Berry black but not as good looking. He kinda resembles Alfred E. Newman.
Once again those who support the president's agenda on health care reform insist on portraying those who don't as racists. I do not understand why they cannot find any validity in our contention that health care reform is tantamount to a takeover of 1/6 of our economy. Why does that not register with them? Is Obama worship so powerful that they cannot or will not aknowledge the slippery slope that health care could become?
As a small business owner I do not want one more rule or regulation to abide by to satisfy my government. That includes health care that incurs penalties if not purchased. So much for the land of the free and the home of the brave. Now we are the land of the cry babies and the government our baby sitters.
So what do we do about it? We ignore the weak of mind and continue to protest anymore government takeovers of any other segment of our economy. I think we've had enough takeovers for my lifetime!
Why do you hate the church?
Why do you make fun of Christians?
Are you Asian?
I know, it bums me out too. My parents bought his records in the 60's and his show was one of my favorites. It is like finding out Rock Hudson was gay. I won't be able to watch him in the same way.
Well said.
I seem to recall some famous black people (West, Williams, Jordon) each be described as jerks recently. All three were in situations that required grace and composure, yet failed.
I could cry that he's decided to be public about this.
Bill turns out to be another elitist thinking he knows best for everyone.
I like Bill Cosby. I disagree with Bill Cosby.
I wonder what he makes of Democrats acting crassly during Obama's speech. How about when they behaved poorly when Bush was speaking?
Really, people need to stop the racism foolishness. It dilutes the scourge of real racism like when Kanye West said that Bush does not care about black people or when that jacker from Seinfeld decides to go off on a truly racist tirade.
Cosby will probably go on a news program maybe even Fox. One should reserve judgement until he clarifies what his real point is.
Is there still racism in America —Yes. Is most of it coming from the right? Probably not. Seems the left is more affixed on the race issue. It has been a handy weapon to push various leftist policies for decades. A good thing for America only 12 to 20% believe it.
I don't, I don't and no I'm not.
You mean I don't change topics quickly enough?
And you have probably not been a famous wealthy celebrity also, but that doesn't mean you didn't understand some of his comedy.
What he used to be a genius at, finding commonality in human existence, he has forgotten. As a white who bought his records, watched his shows and admired and loved him, this is one of the biggest disappointments I have experienced from a celebrity. I always wondered if his dr. title was legit.
Bill Cosby has gone from being a bargainer to a confrontational black.
THESE OLD BUZZARDS,,,,,, BILL CROSBY AND OLD MAN CARTER SHOULD SHUT THE HELL UP… PEOPLE DO NOT REALLY CARE WHAT THE HELL YOU THINK ….YOU TWO CREEPY OLD BUZZARDS ARE FULL OF CRAP
Hey Bill, I'm flattered by your stalking. Just so you know, I've reported it.
Now, I don't know if they'll do anything about it. but I myself was recently censored for using copy & paste tactics. just a friendly warning. if there's any fairness or justice around here they will get you too.
It's a sad day in America. I grew up thinking Bill Cosby reminded me of my dad: straight-talking, common sense and funny. And now this? Et tu Brute
Are you kidding me? Know I know racisms still exist, but to any large degree I doubt it.
The people of this land that you are currently pointing your finger at are people that want our constitution upheld. Black or white we have all been through a rough history, but we are all Americans and need to leave this racism finger pointing in the past. If we have an act of hate on a private citizen the law will deal with that isolated case. I would love a person like Alan Keyes to make it to the Presidential position.
CONT…..
As he feels if the black community is so worried about their standing in America why do so many of the organizations they support protect abortions. The United States loses 3,000,000 potential citizens that would be black every year.
This is not a black and white issue this is a virus that has spread through-out our land. The fall of honor and decency. It is time to pick ourselves up put all bad felling behind brush our selves off, and get back in the game of being doers not complainers and finger pointers. Each American is responsible for his future not our government.
Evidently the heat from the race pimps was too much. Exactly which demographic jumped to your defense when another demographic howled and called you an Uncle Tom when you spoke out about various social issues and preached personal responsibility? Thanks, Cos, for condemning at least half of the voting population of America (of all races and creeds) with one ingnorant comment. I'm surprised that a man who holds a PhD in education would allow himself to indulge such an intellectually lazy contention.
CONT… PART 3
Our government panders to us offering gold and riches, when in fact they are offering the status quo. Show me One just one liberal city with all their promises that is booming. The people in the cities after 50 years are still poor with all of the Governments goodies and their hand outs. Tell them this is still the land of opportunity go play the game, and stop waiting for someone to save them. My suggestion is live the corrupt cities and move to a small town where people respect you for what you do and stand for.
Just ask my home town of Detroit how the entitlement policies are working out for them.
Please people lets drop the DEM and REP titles and just be Americans.
Remember the moto of the 3 muskeeters. ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE!!
Mr. Cosby you and Mr. Carter could not be more wrong.
Sorry this is my first blog kinda long winded..
[...] Racial Harmony Obama Promised? Posted on September 17, 2009 by Denny BREAKING NEWS NETWORK: Comedian Entertainer Bill Cosby Agrees With Jimmy Carter and Leftist Race-Baiting Tactics to Change … of Barack Obama and His [...]
So disappointing that Bill Cosby would abandon common sense in favor of the leftist SOP of accusing anyone that disagrees with Obama as a racist.
Nevermind that Bush was treated as rudely as a president could possibly be treated…..Where was Cosby with the racist crap when Sharpton and Jackson were doing their down with whitey two-step?
Just a sad day….
Bill…
You're a little kid all over again, dude. Smearing Jell-O all over the floor and setting the sofa on fire, and for what?
The fake "chicken heart" you think you see on the media…
I cannot begin to tell you the reach of my disappointment in you…
Most of the Blacks I have talked to are really stupid about slavery in America.
They don't know almost all of the slaves were owned by Democrats.
They never heard Democrats made the Jim Crow laws.
They never heard Democrats had slaves that got desiases and were immidiately killed
They never heard Democrats started and joined the KKK not Republicans.
Most Blacks still don't know Obama is selling them out to Obamacare.
Their children will be picked up first for being fat.
The black community in America is doomed if people like Cosby are gonna start drinking the Kool-Aid too. What a sad disappointment.
To paint Joe Wilson's "you lie" outburst as being racist, aren't you essentially saying that only black people tell lies? Think about it!
The most unfortunate thing is that Mr. Wilson only verbalized what most of America is now thinking about this President and his administration. This fact is further supported by the passionate turnout at the Town Hall meetings all summer and the many Tea Parties across America.
Lastly, does the left not want another black President to ever hold office again? Cause if the American people and the Honest Media are not allowed to criticize a black President then why would we ever elect one again after this.
I protested Bush policies. I protested McCain policies. Now I am not allowed to protest Obama policies because I will be smeared as a racist? I am appalled that Bill Cosby is now encouraging this despicable, intentional over generalization.
Genographic DNA studies verify that we ALL came from Africa. Migration away from the equator, closer to the poles, enabled those with lighter skin to absorb more vitamin D and thus survive. See:https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/genogr...
Obama , was welcomed into office with the hope that he would transcend racism. Yet it is he who had a knee jerk racist reaction and blamed a cop for doing his job, If any party is racist today it is the Democrats, home of Robert Byrd. It is liberals who have convinced blacks they can't take care of themselves and need a government handout.
BTW, Pull out your kids, crayons. Blacks are not black, but brown. Whites are not white, but beige. Brown and beige – shades of the same color. But such talk does not further the liberal agenda.
I remember tuning into a Cosby interview when he was being admonished by black leaders for his stated belief that African-American parents should take more personal responsibility and be more culpable in the raising of their own children. I thought, here's a guy I can listen to. But when asked about Clarence Thomas, Cosby said Thomas was a sellout and refered to Thomas as "Brother Light" – light as in color. Cosby said Thomas never "did enough for black people". From then going forward Cosby was just another empty-headed racialist and near racist with nothing new to say.
Hey, Cosby…..read some Thomas Sowell, will ya??? How about some Walter E. Williams, eh??? For cryin' out loud…do any of these people yelling "racism" see anything else? It seems just really awfully terrible when, after all Americans have done to get past this, that some people just keep clinging to it. Talk about "bitter clingers." I guess we can see who the real "bitter clingers" are.
People do what works for them….Michael Moore makes millions from anti-capitalist films (for the love of Pete), Jesse Jackson makes money from "racism," so I guess that works for him, Cosby makes money from Jello and Jokes but evidently he drank the kool-ade. Strange people amongst us. Those who are sticking to this "racist" tactic have something to gain from doing it. Someone is pulling strings behind the scenes to foment this "race baiting." Someone wants a race war going on here…or they are wanting Obama to have carte blanche and are using "race" to get it. It is so orchestrated that any opposition to Obama gets hit with the "race" card. Something is fishy….smells pretty bad….looks pretty weird…sounds like phoney bologna…and it is very deliberate. Heads up America!!
Remember David Allen Grier's now canceled show on Comedy Central call The Chocolate News? In a promo for the show, he jokingly (?) asked white Americans to vote for Obama's white half. That was what led me to come up with my bi-racial joke about Obama, which I'll leave as soon as I make my first point. To avoid any accusations of racism, all non-black, non-leftist Americans should preface any comment with "My comments are directed to Obama's white half."
JOKE: Obama made history by becoming America's first "black" president. But he's really bi-racial. That means half of him is black victimhood and the other half is white liberal guilt.
Don't you know that minorities can not engage in racism? Minorities can only be victims, they are incapable of the vitriol that the White Opressor Swine-Pig produces on a daily basis. There's no such thing as hating a white man. It's just Whitey's chickens coming home to roost. Didn't you get the pamphlets? Keep this up and I'll have to report you to the Neighborhood Patriotism Coordinator.
Oh, this is so incredibly disappointing!
Keep your eye on the ball, the President of the United States stood before the whole world and lied. Everything he said about his health plan was a lie. He has no plan, so what is he referring to? Has anyone seed a plan penned by Barack Obama? The ONLY plan voted on was HR3200 and President Obama pressured the Senate to pass this nightmare before the Aug 7 recess. That plan, the only plan voted on contradicted everything he said in his speech. He is a liar and the whole world knows it. He is a Marxist, Socialist, and he seeks to enslave ALL, I repeat ALL Americans, including AFRICAN AMERICANS. Wake up you fools, your being played.
Sadly, it seems that Mr Cosby joins in on bashing anyone who disagrees with the President with the R label.
Mr Cosby, what do you call Black Americans who are more and more disagreeing with the President?
For all of us "White" people who marched, contributed everyday to the cause of equal rights for all, taught our children to listen to the words of Martin Luther King Jr concerning the value of character – not color…..Mr Cosby now pontificates that that we need to judge a man by his color and not character? And in turn, joins the real bigots intent on turning the clock back — decades….Cosby Show reruns or anything Bill Cosby is now banned from my house — apparently, the message of his show was a sham — and Mr Cosby, it is because of your character………
For a "change" I am actually disappointed in Bill Cosby. All these years he's been telling the black community that their future is up to them. Now it seems he is espousing the entitlement mentality by encouraging the race bailters to continue crying wolf while standing in pack of wolves. In my mind those who use the race card as a political tool are cowards. I say the same thing to all the politicians on capitol hill who refuse to listen to the American people and continue to lecture and campaign expecting that everyone will mindlessly nod with their eyes glazed over as they did during the Presidential election.
Does that make him a bi-racist?
Never has a president been treated so crappy (especially by elected officials) and taken it so in stride. The criticisms aimed at him have had no basis in intelligent debate, but simple name calling. Unlike the decider, President Obama has tried to reach out to Republicans and conservatives. Bill Cosby's (not Obama's) statement about racism has merit from what I have seen written on the signs carried by people who want to see him fail even at the cost of destroying their own country. Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck are very open with their racial connotations. i do however feel that citing former President Carter, who never confronts the racism practiced by the Saudis and other Islamic countries (which contribute $$$$ to his organization), dilutes his argument some. The true motives behind the demonization of Obama are political, not racist, however, the mobs yelling epithets are, and this is how they are being controlled to get out there and fight against policies that would directly benefit them.
This Obama voter was also yelling "liar" at his television after Obama had called those who had questioned health care rationing "liars" the minute before. I truly loved the concept of a black president when it appeared that Obama would try to bring the black community into the mainstream. Instead it has become obvious that Obama bought the Rev. Wright koolaid all those years in his church. We threw out the GOP for abusing our trust with out-of-control spending and irresponsibility. Now the Dems have used their power to quadruple down on the irresponsibility while calling tea party protesters Nazis and racists. Add that to a press that is totally abdicating responsibility and we are in serious trouble that, if we even can survive this debt, our children and grandchildren will be paying for their entire life. Where are the adults?
This is the type of straight talking that white America needs. There have played psychological castration for too long.Blacks should never take that again. They are wont to telling blacks right here to go back to Africa if they don`t like it here. But this are people who have designed policies for years, stealing resources from the African continent and feeding their children with. They want the people they exploit to go back to Africa since they have got everything thing out of them. They go round the world killing people to steal from them, pretending to spread democracy.Where is the democracy when one of their lawmakers eats the mud in this way.Blacks will never go back to Africa, but it`s time to hit back.Whites want everything for themselves. How can you compare yourself with somebody you forced into darkness for centuries, and still count on to provide you with cheap resources today? They cannot stand a bright youngman like Obama ,because they have preached for too long that blacks were stupid. They know Obama is setting a precedence and that many more intelligent blacks will come forward, thereby clearly disproving them.
Wow. I can play both sides of the isle with this one.
You Racist Liar!
It is definitely a sad day when Bill Cosby is on board for telling black children that the reason people are questioning the extreme left wing policies and health care half truths of Obama is that they hate black people. It looks like at least one more generation of black children is destined for indoctrination into the Rev. Wright mentality and a life outside of the mainstream. My respect for Cosby, who also portrayed Hannity as a racist, is gone. Very sad.
He is also an educated funny guy. And he is not a funny guy, he is a brilliantly funny guy.
I love Bill Cosby. I bought all of his tapes when I was a kid and listened to them over and over and over. I used to do some of his routines as monologues in my drama class. I have seen him live several times (even recently).
A couple years ago, when he chose to speak out against the lack of focus on education, self-respect, and self-improvement in the black community, I applauded him.
Now, after all that, he goes and says this. Man, that is disheartening beyond words.
Did he completely miss the fact that this country elected Obama to be PRESIDENT?
What's next? We only elected a black man President so we could watch a black man fail on a global scale? This is all a big joke on Obama?
I am beyond tired of the race card and shocked that Mr. Cosby would stoop to this.
They want Obama to be tip-toeing around. They turn up in his rallies with guns, they compare him to a monkey and both he and the wife to terrorists. All those who are shouting out their longs here that they have lost respect for Cosby have never said it here that they have lost respect for right groups who raise huge sums of money to tarnish Obama`s image by incessantly preaching that he was not born in America. This is extreme hatred, and it must be challenged.America has lost respect completely.Countries like Iran,China,Venezuela,Cuba are watching and they will keep punishing America for the rest of time.Where does the money come from to be investigating into Obama`s birth certificate? Is it not from whites? Why didn`t the whites reject the Kennedys that they came from Ireland? They like denigrating blacks, but the fear we see on the face of a white when abducted by terrorists just show how spineless they are.One of them led them to war in Iraq and left back 4000 lives, and a broken economy. Now that a youngman wants to clear up the mess, they stupidly carry blackberries to senate to show how stupid they are.
I expected better from Bill Cosby. Oh, well. Live and learn.
De Pimento, it is funny that you don't recognize the opportunity around the world that has come from American capitalism around the world that you consider 'white'. It reminds me of when women weren't allow to work because it was taking jobs away from men. In truth, it created a bigger pie for all. When those evil Americans that you stereotype as 'white' went to other countries and buy resources, it opened the door for development in those nations that fed, clothed, and housed those people. What you call exploitation are the seeds of growth that can be "capitalized" upon or allowed to wither and die on the vine. Sadly, too many with your mentality allowed those seeds to wither and instead blamed people because of their success or their skin color. It is fools like you who threaten to ruin this nation as well by trying to split one pie rather than using the examples of success to create many pies. You would rather live like a peasant in Cuba than have others get ahead on their hard work and merit. There is nothing intelligent in the racism and class envy that festers in your thinking.
Idiots = people who think saying "You Lie" is being racist!
Wake Up!
Stop with the martyr syndrome and move on.
Hey! Positive here, negative when beating on Burt. Are you sure you're not schizophrenic?
Chuck, the racism charge has no place in policy debate. There are probably many more who voted for this very inexperienced, first term senator because he was black than voted against for the same reason. It would be foolish to add the comment " Well, the only reason many of these people are for health care is because Obama is black". Pure foolishness, especially coming from an ex president, even if he was a horrible president who appears likely to be outshined in poor policy decisions only by this group now in power.
I am so tired of how and when the 'tool of racism' is used. Every time a white person is looking side ways at a black person, some one yells RACISM!!!! When a white person says NO to a black person, some one yells RACISM!!!!!. When a white person disagrees with a black person, someone yells RACISM!!!!!. When a bunch of black persons beat up a white person, oh that is ok and is nothing but justice, how dare he be white. Racism is a Billion Dollar industry and will never go away, to many people in high places make to much money to let it go. So they keep on inventing new things that are now called racism. Just like a few other new 'people industries', abortion comes to mind, to many people in to many high places make to much money to let it go. For Bill Cosby to call this political stuff racism is more than simply disappointing, it is disgusting. His man is screwing up big time and people will not take crap without letting it be known. That is called politics. Every republican President had to take crap big time from the wimpy leftists and every tree hugger in the universe. For the past 40 or so years since I payed attention to politics, nothing has improved, it all got worse. The vengeful peanut farmer had lost his marbles long before he even became President, his conduct in that position is prove for it and his conduct since is even worse. To many people remember how that poor excuse for a leader caused so much heartache in the American population. This current inexperienced organizer in the White House is about to do the same underhanded things, only on a grander scale. People remember how hart they were hit by sky high unemployment, high interest rates and astronomical inflation and they are not going to take it again without a fight! Mr. Cosby, this is called survival, this is called rescuing and preserving what people have earned with sweat, pain and tears over many years and this man in the White House is not going to steamroller over half the people in this country to steal it and try out his upnocious, idiotic and stupid communistic ideas. And Mister Cosby calls that racism when people try to defend and protect them self from being robbed and let over the cliff. People have caught on that he wants to cripple this country with all his hair brained ideas, like this schema of 'cap on trade' with its damnable penalties to enrich himself and his buddies, i.e. Mr. Gore who has shown the way how to get rich by conning unsuspecting people, with his measures for global warming which is based totally on lies, taking over one industry after another and thinks he can run them better than the professionals he stole it from, this is unconstitutional and has nothing to do with justice but theft on his and his cronies part. I could go on and on. All this has nothing to do with color and everything to do with incompetence, narcissism and the destruction of America by this man. Nothing else.
The birther argument is based on the fact that we have a president with a foreign born and foreign livng father, a grandmother from that foreign country who claimed (along with other people who live in the same Kenyan village) that ther president was born out of the USA, and a president who so far has refused to release his long form birth certificate even though a short form certificate can be obtained based on a simple request rather than hospital records. Whether someone supports this particular president or not, it is ridiculous that any person can become president without proving their birth place. We should never be placed in a position of having to BELIEVE them. Maybe Obama believes he is winning some kind of cat and mouse game by not allowing release of his long form certificate. Really, all he is doing is playing politics and creating deep seated doubt and disgust in millions of Americans who would drop their concerns immediately if proof was supplied. It is just one more example of arrogant dismissal of the American public that has been so common with the group currently in power.
they are all very careful to not act racist in public.
Or they aren't racist.
this care began a long time ago, when folks realized that when they get together to voice their racist views, they need to wear hoods to hide their identities.
You aren't even half as clever as you think you are.
Sigh. The race pimps have really done a number on the black community. Entitlements, affirmative action, and identity politics have reduced them to a permanent underclass that reacts like trained seals to the cues of their real oppressors. Cosby should know better; and I think he does.
Did you ever stop your genocidal tactics against strawmen? Why do you hate them so much, CogDissonance?
Mr Cosby, let's examine your skills and ability to use logic:
1. You equate calling someone a lier with racism. Ergo, anytime anyone is called a liar, it is racially motivated.
2. The US now has a responsibility to ensure that not one person will die because of a lack of medical care. How socialistic, even communistic, of you to make that a priority for 360 million people.
3. You agree with Jimmy Carter.
You should stick with Jello.
Cosby has lost it. Too bad. He made some good points when he talked about something he is knowledgeable on, i.e., his own community.
Plenty of conservatives have denounced birthers, both here and on other websites, both regular folk and professional pundits. We ignore them for the most part, but also speak out against them. Why do I give a rat's butt what Iran, China, Venezuela and Cuba think? I only care if any of them get nuclear weapons or are otherwise a security threat. Sure we care about the people and the oppression they are under, but other than that, their impression of us is irrelevant. No matter what we do, they will hate us.
During Bush's 8 years, how many terrorist attacks on U.S. soil were there after 9/11? ZERO, skippy. ZERO. He kept us safe by fighting them OVER THERE. The Broken Economy was not just his fault, but the fault of Democrats and Republicans alike. If he wanted to fix the mess, he would have the decency to have an actual dialogue about it rather than telling us to "shut up".
EPIC FAIL.
Page 1 of the democrat playbook:
If your position is indefensible and ludicrous call your opponents racists, nazis or any other derogatory name.
Page 2 of the democrat playbook:
The end.
And Cosby should be ashamed of himself; he's better than that.
This made me sad, and I told him so via twitter yesterday. (So I totally showed him!) Other than what he said about Clarence Thomas he's always seemed to be a reasonable man that understood personal accountability. It's unfortunate.
Mr Bill; For as long as this white boy can remember I have always admired you for your level head. Your racist comments regarding Congressman Wilson & President Obama just destroyed those moments. This is a revolution against big, corrupt gov't which envolves all of us. Before you make anymore stupid remarks pls note: A whole lot more whities voted for Obama than all other ethenic groups put together. I realize it hurts to loose a battle & certainly a war but pls don't smear the good american patriots who only desire honesty & justice. You are so wrong to play the race card @ a very unreasonable time. A time when all of us should demand honesty, fairness & the like. God Bless You.
"Death of a Nation" That would be abortion, over 30% of said abortions performed on women kill African American babies all as a dream of a perfect society generated by a white woman (Margaret Sanger) and her progressive cronies which later became Planned Parenthood. Talk about targeted hatred/prejudice. I disagree with O's policies NOT because he's black because he's not all black ,therefore, if we are going to use heritage as a requirement, he's half white and I must, therefore, agree with at least half of his policies. I disagree with his policies because I want government out of my decision making process, out of my freedom of choice, out of my decisions for how I will live the rest of my life. Bush never should have signed the TARP, never should have thrown our finances in with the UN, never should have urged Israel to give up land for peace. I'm part Indian: do these statements make me a racist against whites? Why don't you step out of Hollywood and actually listen and meet the people you are making broad statements about?
Bill – I've seen you in concert and really appreciate your message to young people (i.e., regarding education and taking personal responsibility). But in this instance, friend, you're just wrong. I'm certain you will find similar disrespectful behavior going on in videotapes of each and every one of past presidents' addresses before Congress. Does that make it right? No, but the behaviors you reference last week – while rude – were not based on Mr. Obama's race. Nor are most disagreements that some of us ordinary Americans have with Mr. Obama based on his race; we simply disagree with the direction in which he wants to take this country and we are speaking up…the same as people did (vociferously) when they disagreed with Mr. Bush's Iraq War policy. That's our right and responsibility as Americans – and race has absolutely nothing to do with it. Silence equals consent; if we disagree, we must speak up. I would actually have expected you of all people to advocate that.
The left is playing a dangerous game. They think that they can shame moderates who voted for Obama but now know they bought a "pig in a poke". So the left trots out Carter (soon to be the second worst president in our country's history) and Cosby (who in that one sentence destroyed all the good will he created through his career) to shame moderates if they disagree with BELOVED LEADER/THE MESSIAH/THE ONE, you are a RACIST.
Well, most american's don't like being called a racist when they aren't. This will backfire.
And remember the definition of racist. One who believes that they are better than another race. Not dissagreeing with one member of that race.
Wow.
I guess I'm a racist.
I never knew.
In Obama, I merely judged a man on the content of his Marxist™ character instead of the color of his skin, and suddenly I'm infected with racism? That's scarier than H1M1!
Gee…I wonder what my black girlfriend will have to say when I tell her, later tonite?
Replying to TooBad
Right now Bill Cosby — who I always thought was a teriffic actor and a great person for people (black or white) to look up to — is talking like any other biased anti-white racist . Not only has he called his fellow Americans "RACIST," he calls them "LIARS."
SHAME ON YOU, BILL COSBY! SHAME!
Both Cosby and Carter should be banished to the woodshed. FOREVER!
…have never said it here that they have lost respect for right groups who raise huge sums of money to tarnish Obama`s image by incessantly preaching that he was not born in America. This is extreme hatred, and it must be challenged.America has lost respect completely.Countries like Iran,China,Venezuela,Cuba are watching and they will keep punishing America for the rest of time.
Stop feigning outrage. Obama has refused to release any documents; a college transcript, long form birth certificate and probably hasn’t released his medical records. The media gave Bush a colonoscopy over his records and they gave Obama a blowjob. More personal information was required for him to purchase his home than become president. And there is far more evidence that he was born in Kenya than Hawaii. If you’re born in Hawaii it’s highly unlikely you end up as a child in Indonesia, but if you’re born in Kenya it’s not uncommon, particularly for muslims [Obama’s father] to travel to the largest muslim nation on the globe [Indonesia]. Of course this is my arrogant opinion. Obama could put this all to rest but he instead has attorneys working to ensure his past never sees the light of day.
If it weren’t for failed liberal policies Iran,China,Venezuela and Cuba would be somewhat irrelevant. Environmentalists have prevented us from gaining energy independence thus giving more influence to nations like Venezuela and Iran. Failed liberal policies have made us financially beholden to the communist Chinese, and Obama has quadrupled down on that debt. He has also capitulated to Iran and given them the go ahead to pursue nuclear weapons [albeit obama is playing ignorant and saying the murderous mullahs only want energy, despite the fact they sit on a sea of oil.] And Cuba is simply a communist island prison beloved by the American left. Oliver Stone even traveled to Cuba to lick Castro’s boots.
Well, what do you know? That's the first sane thing Bill Cosby has said in years. Frm. President Carter is right in saying that people who use racially-tinged words like "radical", "communist", "socilaist" or "Marxist" against President Obama, but not against frm. President Clinton or conservative black leaders like Colin Powell, have an unconsciously racial problem, if not a liberal problem. I could care less about either liberal or conservative. I only care about the truth, and the way I see it, Carter is the only one telling the truth.
I grew up in the south. I have heard the N word. It was a word used often by my grandparents generation. Not by my parents. My children have never even heard the word. But my children are young. Some day they might put a CD in the player and come ask me what that word means. I will tell them that it is just like the R(racist) word. A word used by one group to hurt, insult, and damage another group. I will tell them that it is a hateful word used by hateful people. And maybe in another generation both words will become extinct.

Don't flatter yourself dummy. And I'll take your response as a No.
Question: Are the 9-11 Truthers racist? Just answer the question.
Question: Are the 9-11 Truthers racist? Just answer the question.
And why or why not?
You should read a book or take a class on racism in America before you comment.. Maybe you should run for president. Cosby Rocks
BS – When all else fails, when the going gets rough, when you are just to lazy to find a valid reason, when you know the truth will hurt you, what do you do???? Play the race card!!!!
Apparently, the only thing that will convince some people that racism has ceased to be an issue, would be a unanimous election of Obama to the position of Extreme Dictator for Life.
I agree with you sir, racism is alive and well in every race towards members of every race. It will always be that way sadly, but that is a fact. However, when the red flag of racism is waved at every little thing, it ceases to mean anything. It is like inflation, the more you use it the less it is worth.
I was in the Air Force, but Semper Fi anyway.
Old fool – time to retire – you are embarrassing yourself
Bill, lots and lots of White People voted for Obama. He couldnt have one without those votes. He took office with a 69% approval rating. Its his policies man.
Very good comments.
Obama is criticized for his content and ideology & ideas–not his race.
In fact, most of the media has been going very very light on being analytical out of fear.
By the way, I don't believe that the initial post is by Bill Cosby. That is so out of character for him. Somebody is trying to add fuel to this ridiculous notion that blacks are always, because if you oppose their ideas, then…
Why are 40% of the inmates in jail, Black? Blacks can do no wrong.
i share your sentiment
I think Cosby needs to take advice from Richard Prior….Have a pudding pop and shut the fuck up!!
I guess Martin Luther King's famous philosophy is no longer relevant . . .judge a person by the content of his/her character, not by the color of the skin.
The Left is reversing the progress our nation has made but will not silence Americans from disagreeing with a President that may happen to be Black, White, Red, Brown, Purple, Green, Orange . . . or whatever.
All-things-Cosby WERE ONCE a favorite in my household — even in syndicated reruns — because of his character. His records, video, reruns — after today, will no longer be aired in my household — because of his character.
Couple of dynamics here maybe, he's tired of being labeled an Uncle Tom, he's old, and starting to fear loosing freinds or family over a dispute like this,.. subliminally..
and he's doing what 90% of black America is, allowing the pride of having the first black president over rule common sense. Entirely emotional, and irrational at this point, soooo proud, that any, ANY criticism, any barb at the man they consider their emotional property,.. and the reaction is a tantrum, a childish outburst that you are dissing their guy for no other reason,..
than to rain on their parade.. to blinded by rapture to even allow a different opinion.
that Obama is a fraud, that his policies are a disaster, won't can't get through the huge investment in raw emotion they've spent on him.
We have to wait them out, some will always be blind, but as time shows him to have feet of clay,. the better minds will see you can challenge him, even disrespect him, and not be racist..
unless Bill will acknowledge that every black liberal who ever attacked a republican president before, was simply being racist as well.
since there could be no other reason by this logic.
sad, I used to respect Bill..
Paranoid much?
I'm not going to let Mr. Cosby or anyone else derail my protest to government run health care. I reject the premise of this distraction to the debate. It tells me that the liberals have lost the argument because they are no longer really debating the merits of the plans they have but calling people names if they don't agree. What happened to a civil debate?
Government run health care will be a horrible thing. Any other government "service" agency I can think of is a joke (USPS, DMV, VA Hospitals, etc.) and I have not confidence that bureaucrats can do the job of taking care of people's health better than the men and women who have trained and dedicated their lives to do so.
Don't let this lame, ignorant tactic distract you. Keep the pressure on.
Well we lost Bill. As my girlfriend would say….bugger.
I wonder if ANYONE of ANY COLOR is interested in the numbers of black Americans who voted for obama ONLY because he IS black. These would be the same black Americans who tend not to vote at all, traditionally.
Or would that be "racist" too?
Either way – if folks want to charge people with racism, they'd better include EVERYONE.
Now I could get up and start counting the black congressmen who said Bush lied, but you know what?
I´m sick and tired of talking or even thinking about race. We must get over this race bullshit pronto. NO, SIR, YOU ARE NOT GETTING A MEDALFOR THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN.
I realize that many people make good money keeping the race thing alive – artists, academics, professional diversity bullies in every institution, certain community organizers – but they can all go to hell as far as I´m concerned. They make our lives a living hell and turn citizens against each other every day. I´ve had it up to here.

Pray, sir, is that a fancy word for a fool?
I am a proud racist. That's right, I said it! I went to a TEA Party on 4/15 because I was tired of the bailouts. I went to a TEA Party on 7/4 to celebrate our liberty. I went to a TEA Party on 9/7 to speak out against too much government control. I marched on DC 9/12 for all of these reasons. I marched against an out of control Congress and a President who is leading us away from Liberty and Freedom. I marched for every American and for those around the world who see us as a beacon for freedom. Without America, where will people flock for freedom? For all of this I am labelled racist. I will no longer cower to the false accusation of racism so I will say it again – I AM A PROUD RACIST!
Sure it wasn't an act? My wife works for a major corporation that used to assign their people to work with United Way for a year. That was their job for that year: Assist UW with projects, typically by acting as liaison or handlers for high-profile celebrities during UW fundraisers. A co-worker was Bill Cosby's handler at one function, and it was a tough job — because Mr. Cosby would not communicate with anyone who was not African-American. Need to tell Mr. Cosby something? Tell it to one of his 'aides,' who will relay it to Mr. Cosby. Nor would Mr. Cosby speak to anyone who was not African-American. He would tell one of his 'aides,' who would relay it in the other direction. Did Mr. Cosby want a drink? He would not take if from a non-African-American's hands. I have no reason to think the woman was lying, and every reason she was telling the truth.

Bill is ignorant. How come it has to be about racism and not about policies such as government take over of banks, car industry, and now healthcare; more taxes; unconstitutional czars; the socialist/marxist Apollo alliance writing our Congressional Bills; the people not being heard; veterans being called terrorists. Take your pick!!
[...] Say it ain’t so. [...]
"Or they aren't racist. "
True! And I wouldn't argue otherwise.
In review several of my recent posts… I've been pretty fired up and basically ranting. Maybe even getting carried away a bit.
I by NO MEANS mean to imply that either all, or even the majority of Republicans are racist. And certainly, I'm inclined to think that there are racists among any "group" we could name.
what is a "genocidal tactic against a strawmen"? It sounds to me like if I were attacking a strawman in any way shape or form, then it would be a strawman-cidal attack.
Genocidal refers to physical – murderous – attacks on real people, not strawmen.
And I have only typed in some words here buddy! Have you seen me brandish a weapon?
I don't think its a fance word at all. But by acting in a way that the word describes…many have been hurt or even killed in response. So, were they fools to act that way?
"PROVE THAT THERE IS RACISM… "
PROVE THAT THERE ISN'T RACISM!
Ya right

OMG a kindred spirit.
[...] I was reading this post from Big Hollywood where Bill Cosby says he agrees with Jimmy Carter that mu… Now I will give them this: I know there are fools — maybe 5% of the population of Whites/Hispanics/Asian (and I wager the % are higher in Hispanic and Asian communities — just sayin’) wouldn’t vote for anyone who was Black. What are we to do? Are we to be held hostage because a few of us are idiot racists? [...]
I by NO MEANS mean to imply that either all, or even the majority of Republicans are racist.
Oh sure you aren't. More like it finally dawned in your not-overly-clever little mind that the tactic is backfiring mightily and now you're backpedaling.
Too late.
I'm saying you use the strawman fallacy so much that it seems like you're trying to wipe them all out.
Now you're dissembling with the "just words" bleat. Did the three ghosts of Christmas give you a scare, or one of the admins?
I know exactly what you meant. Can´t disagree with a black man or your motives will be called into question. Of course you agree because you are not much of a dissident and about the "cognitive" part, the less said the better. Good day, sir.
Typical kum bah yah liberal tripe. Let's just totally destroy 1/6 of the economy for a few. Let's fix this with a private solution. I've been doing some research, and not all countries use a large public option. Some use less socialism than we do in medicare and medicaid. They have tort reform and insurance reform. Everyone is required to buy insurance, insurance companies are regulated enough that they are penalized if they don't respond quickly to claims, etc. There are many, many ways to reform health care without a public option that we cannot afford. Sorry, but there just aren't that many rich people to penalize; those taxes will drift down to middle class people while the rich fly away to Europe with their private doctors, etc. There is already talk of people who have work long career, built of substantial 401k's who are talking of going ex-pat because of what this public option would do to a lifetime of work and saving for their retirements. People with money will find a way to avoid this. They already pay about 90% of the tax burden anyway.
hey hey hey !! sorry you feel that way bill . you are wrong and so is the peanut man !! thank carter for iran too !
Absolutely well said! I think you are 100 % correct. I keep asking myself why he is called a "Black" President…he is White as well…so that being true it would seem to me that the Left is keeping racism alive by always throwing that card on the table. Bill Cosby should be ashamed of himself. It was his talent and lots of whites who appreciated it that made him what he is today…RICH and will never have to worry about Medical Care.
What makes you think you ever had him? You rightists heard what you wanted to hear. He's never ben the sort of black man who is dedicated to upholding white hegemony. Sorry.
the problem is that it seems you are disagreeing with him because he is black.
the admins are all over me these days. whatever.
wipe who all out? I'm not following you.
While I cannot agree with Mr. Cosby's assessment of racism as a root cause of America's rejection of Obama's health care proposals, I WILL listen to his claims. Cosby's willingness to speak out on race-centered issues – particularly those harsh ctriticisms of black American cultural and societal declines in the past 40 years – makes him someone I DO respect. His willingness to speak out courageously, even when it jeapordizes his standing in the public eye, is why I WILL listen. If there were more who spoke out on the real racial divide in America with CREDIBILTY, we would all profit, The problem is: for every candid, honest (even if wrong) men like Cosby, you have far too many Kayne Wests, Al Sharptons. Jesse Jacksons who blather on continuously and who always get prince-like media treatment. Cosby would be welcome in my home. Those other promoters and marketeers of racism would never be allowed entry into it any more than I'd volunteer to be the home for cockroaches.
not at all. and say my tactic was backfiring(mightily). what would that look like? what would it look like if a tactic of mine was successful?
No doubt most of what I write here is lost on most that read it. no biggie. I'm not hear to win the bathing suit beauty contest like your Sarah Palin.
Republican values aren't racist. And you'll never hear me say otherwise.
I not the one making fun of the korean church. You are.
I am not the one with a copy/paste problem. You are.
I am not the one with the admin problem. You are.
If you having so many isues; You need to ask yourself why me? Then look into a mirror.
Your problem is that you are making stuff like that up because you want to change the subject, which is the madness of Democrat policies.
The idea that I would agree more with Obama (or Cosby) if he looked like John Kerry is ludicrous. And you know it.
[...] on the O’Reilly Factor on Thursday to discuss the claims made by President Jimmy Carter, Bill Cosby and now Walter Mondale that reaction by conservatives to Obama’s policies have more to do [...]
Sadly, the other half is not worth considering.
A racially polarized society is not very clear-thinking.
Attention black Americans,
What I have to say is of the utmost importance. I realize that President Barack Obama represents the American Dream (aka "the struggle") and that he represents black pride and racial harmony. The price we are paying for this important symbolism will lead us down a road to ruin. Many people want to discredit Barack because he is a black man, or because they are from the competing party. I am in neither category. I am one of the many concerned citizens who is seeing past his appearance, which is to say not letting it be the deciding factor in my opinion. I am a caucasion who wants to reach black America. Why? Because many in white America have fallen under the influence of political correctness and have stopped thinking for themselves.
Case in point: If someone is changing your benefits plan, the intelligent thing to do is to ask questions about it, right? Scores of regular people across the country have been doing just that and are being branding "right wing nuts," "extremists," and "racists" by the forces of political correctness. It only stands to reason that surely many of the questioners are NOT republican, crazy, or motivated by racism. PEOPLE ARE QUESTIONING THE GOVERNMENT AND BEING DISCREDITED, THIS IS AN ATTEMPT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO SILENCE ANYONE WHO QUESTIONS THEM.
There are other ways to reform healthcare–a good cause. Those without it (most of whom have no desire for it, or they would seek it, in my personal experience with my uninsured friends) can pursue benefits by organizing and joining labor unions. Prices can be brought down to a reasonable and affordable level by regulating insurance companies, but the government doesn't want to do that. Why? It would mean checking the malpractice specialists who have been driving up costs and trial lawyers are among the most major donors to the Democratic National Convention. Instead we are facing nationalization–a hostile takeover of an entire industry by a government unwilling to respect the wishes of its people: the very definition of socialism. Communism is a totalitarian system of government where the little guy has no rights. Communism is a form of slavery. The Chinese live to serve the government and march to prison-like sweatshops where many live in dormitory style cells. The communists have twisted the issue into a civil rights issue by manipulating the English language into what you "can" and "can't say." They have propped up an anti-American puppet as a fake civil rights leader.
As obnoxious as I find Kanye West, he told the truth when he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Withholding FEMA relief from New Orleans was a passive aggressive attempt at genocide. Josef Stalin liquidated millions of Ukrainian Jews and Ukrainian Christian Slavs in his "purges" by withholding food from them during a famine. If the government is allowed to control who gets healthcare–essentially who lives and who dies–then what will happen when a closet racist makes the call on who is worthy of having their life saved?
I am not a republican but they happen to be right this time. We have been taught to fear them so much, many people tune out the message as soon as it's coming from a critic of Barack. Barack is not the mayor of black people or the king of America. He is just a man. Rep. Joe Wilson called him a liar and they came down on him like a ton of bricks. Black people have always valued speaking the truth so I now turn to you for support. Heed my words.
If the government becomes to powerful, all of us "little people" will be in serious trouble.
Rap music should be cleaned up by the artists because they want to give the youth a positive message. Rap music should not be censored. The forces of white liberal political correctness want to stifle free speech. Rap music will be a target of the politically correct thought police.
I ask you, is Barack truly a Christian? According to Muslim law, if your father is Muslim you are a Muslim. If you are born Muslim and do not renounce Allah, you are a Muslim, according to the teachings of the prophet Mohammed. Barack did not grow up with a father in the home and "Rev" Wright filled that void. Wright is not a true Christian. His message is and always has been bigotry and fear. Wright is a follower of Farrakhan and Barack is a follower of Wright. These people are anti-American and now Barack, who was indoctrinated for twenty years by Wright to hate America, is making decisions about reducing our nuclear stockpile and scraping plans for missile defense shields. This effects you and your family.
McCain was too big of a coward to go after Barack for his mentorship with Rev. Wright (a man who publicly blamed America for 911 and appeared to side with the hijackers and be pleased with the outcome). McCain knew the liberal media would have branded him a racist for going after Wright, just because he is black. That is nonsense. I am white and I will criticize anyone when I see fit, be they purple, green, or candy-striped. I am not afraid to speak my mind, nor do I feel guilty about slavery–and why should I? I had nothing to do with it. My ancestors were not living in this country and had they been, I bare no responsibility for their actions. This playing of the race card by the far left is a trick to silence anyone who questions their
stifling of our freedoms. McCain is an honorable man (I voted for the alternative) but he let America down when he was too scared to ask Barack the tough questions.
I agree we have a band of real-life congressional fools more intent on blocking progress than on governing the country, but attributing it to racism is tiresome. This is, after all, AFTER Barack Obama won an election, with an outright majority supporting him, AFTER the articles on how there was a "reverse Bradley effect" of voters in places like Levittown PA who wouldn't admit until they got into the polling booth that they darn well WERE going to vote for an African American candidate, over a year after African American voters who favored Hillary Clinton took a look at the results from Iowa and said, oh, maybe white folks will vote for a qualified black candidate… Besides, so what if some of the disrespect WAS motivated by racism? Obama is in the white house, they are not, so let the little boys act their intelligence rather than their age. We have more important things to worry about than whether they like the president's skin tone.
So when George Bushes' confirmed lies about weapons of mass destruction were found out, and his presenting Collin Powell to lie to the U.N. about nuclear materials shipped from Africa to Iraq, all confirmed and verified lies, why did not any senator yell you lie. I mean this is only a small lie that caused the deaths of thousands of Iraqi citizens, (Oh and they have a dark skin anyway). It also caused the deaths of many USA Boys and girls who went to their deaths on the lies of George Bush and his puppeteer, Cheney. Oh well lies about health care suppressed all that and no one ever shouted to George Bush that he Lies! But he sure a hell did!
