New Political Blog ‘Big Government’ Launches Thursday
by Big HollywoodNew Political Blog BigGovernment.com to Launch Thursday
A conservative blogger and publisher who took on Hollywood earlier this year is setting his sights on the nation’s political establishment.
BigGovernment.com will launch Thursday as a “one-stop shop” for commentary and other political information, according to Andrew Breitbart, the site’s founder.
“This is speaking to the zeitgeist of the blogosphere that every story has an underlying relationship to what’s going on in the Obama administration and how the Republican Party is going to regroup as it relates to issues of the expansion of government powers,” Breitbart told Foxnews.com. “We are just now starting to vet the president and the people he’s put into power.”
Breitbart said the blog will offer a platform to those who respect the concepts of limited government, individual liberties and an “adherence to the principals of our Founding Fathers.”

Very cool indeed!
I bet the Kay Bailey – Rick Perry war spills over into BG!
But BG sounds like fun!
Great! I already waste too much time here on bighollywood. Now I can waste even more time on biggovernment!
See you there!
Excellent news – there is a serious (and growing) need for exactly such a site.
Now this is a Beautiful Thing. The real America at work.
I'm looking forward to this with great anticipation!
This will be handy in consolidating the base I think.
one more venue for a voice. i'm in.
God Speed
Excellent, just excellent news.
I will be there with bells on…
Anything that will divert my attention away from the lack of work in my cubicle at the moment…
I don't see how Mr. Brietbart took on Hollywood. Big Hollywood appears to be a meeting place for conservative social critics and, to some extent, conservative film critics. But I am very suspect of any type of film criticism that is based on a political ideology, whether it is right or left. It reminds me too much of the Soviet Union and suppression of artistic freedom, or the Puritans shutting down the theaters in London after beheading Charles I.
But artistic creativity tends to thrive in the face of oppression. So, in one sense, I hope Mr Brietbart is successful in shaking the tree of Hollywood because the current state of motion pictures seems to me to be at the nadir of cinematic possibility.
Just in time for the Fairness Doctorine
Andrew is gonna be the first interment camp resident
Where is the link so we can register ?
I wish I was going to be near the internet tomorrow!! Maybe I can steal an errant WiFi signal.
You and me both!
Hey Andrew? Do we have timetables on "Big Race" and "Big Tech" yet?
That's PRINCIPLES, not principals.
Fantastic!
I'm looking forward to seeing all my "rowdy" friends there…
This is great! Want to really "do something"? Become a Republican Party precinct committeeman ("PC"). PCs get to vote for the leadership of the Party and help determine, my majority vote, which candidates get the endorsement of the Party in the Republican primary races. Only takes a few hours of time a month. With half the PC slots in the Party nationwide vacant, and with a fifty-fifty split right now between conservatives and moderate RINOs in the PC ranks, the Party is there for the taking by conservatives/libertarians if we'd all just get off our duffs and get to a meeting of the local GOP and volunteer to become a PC. Want to save your country? Then invigorate the "main enemy" of the Debtocrat/Socialist Party with your presence. Go here and read all three articles. http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com (By the way, half of the Party leadership, the moderates, DON'T WANT YOU TO BECOME A PC, BECAUSE THEY AND THEIR RINO CRONIES WILL GET VOTED OUT OF THE LEADERSHIP — THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BASIC CIVICS.)
This should be everyone's first priority. Blogging and carrying a sign at a Tea Party or attending a town hall is great, but unless we have better leadership and candidates in the main adversary party, the Debtocrats will get returned to power. It's all about the Constitution and all about winning the elections. The best way to restore the Constitution and to have better candidates who respect the Constitution is to join the Republican Party at the grass roots and make it happen. It's a numbers game. The more conservatives we have in the Party in the precinct committeemen ranks, the more likely it will be that we'll get better elected leadership within the Party and in the general elections. Michael Steele was elected not by registered Republicans but by the precinct committeemen in all fifty states.
Also, you can go to http://www.redstate.com to learn more, too. Just type in the words precinct and committeeman into the search pane and hit the search button and links to a lot of good info will be presented too you.
Thank you.
Cold Warrior
I am only one. But I am a conservative Republican precinct committeeman and desperately trying to get other Constitution-loving conservatives and libertarians to do the same.
I'm so excited to see what this newest blog will look like. Thanks for all you do!
Andrew, BG is becoming a reality sooner than I had recalled was announced some time ago. Thank you so much for fast tracking it! Selfishly, I would love to see Liz Cheney contribute. Heck, I'll be all out greedy, and ask for some input from Sarah Palin and Walter Williams. I can't wait.
Andrew can we get a site dedicated to Liberals and thier wonderful ideas. We can call it Big Waste of Time.
I'm looking forward to the new site.
I think you will find that over at Dailykos and Huffpo.
Don't forget Big Education!! I've been ready for that battle for a very long time…
Sounds great. I was here for the launch of B-cast and Big Hollywood, so I am ready for yet another mutation. I hope we can have one dedicated to Barry O soon called the Big Bye-Bye.
True. That's gonna be a good one, too.
Thumbs up! Can't wait! Viva limited government and individual rights!
Awesome! Good Luck!
Big Labor!
Will it take my intense debate ID? I really don't want to have to re-signup for the new site!
PS. Super excited for BG!
It might need to be "Red Dawn Soon.com" at the rate radicals are taking position in Washington D.C.
Can't wait. Lotsa conservatives inside the Beltway may find this new blog a great way to express their frustration with the uber left's influence in the halls of bureaucracy. Might get interesting.
Andrew, We love BH and Breitbart TV! They are two of the first sites I visit each morning! I have watched you during various discussions/ interviews on TV and think you are always very well spoken and patient. Even in the most hostile of environments! You always keep your cool! Keep up the good work and we look forward you your latest achievement!
Very excited about this! Go Andrew go!
I think it is useful to separate government from the arts. I will be there for sure. Maybe the conservative leader who will take down Obama in 2012 will emerge on this site. Wouldn't that be neat!
Tomorrow! And a nice, varied line-up. I will be there! Getting back to the fundamentals of personal liberty and founding father's principles. I am sniffing out a libertarian inclination! Is that a thrill going up my leg?
Big Lie would be shorter. Just sayin'
I fully support the launch and expect to find myself on BigGovernment quite often. Whatever Andrew Breitbart comes up with I will pretty much tag along.
Follow the money, Andrew. If you really want to know what's 'fishy' about Obama and his crew, follow the money. These people are like Orwell's pigs – they start out opposing the Capitalists but in the end you can't tell the difference between them. And right now it's the End. Follow the money.
Personally, I'd love to see Andrew's new site follow the money that got Obama into Harvard in the first place. And I sure wouldn't mind seeing someone follow the money to that Chicago mansion of his. (While you're at, sniffing around Michelle's $300,000+ salary wouldn't hurt either.) Follow the money.
Yea!!! I come here every day & now I'll have somewhere else to go.
Andrew appeared on Roger Hedgecock's radio show today and anounced that Big Govenment site's debut will have an excusive story tomorrow that may put the kabash on Obama care. Wouldn't that be sweet?
Andrew Breitbart is a man of action. He has his finger on the pulse of America. He is intelligent and articulate while being hip. These forums get the word out that the people who love this country and what it has done for its people know that they are not alone even in Follywood. The statists may have taken over the government, the schools, and Hollywood with their loud mouths and indoctrination but that doesn’t mean we can’t take it back!

I am looking forward to the new site ! I have found a needed inspiration, wisdom and much laughter here and I am sure I will find even more at the new site. The people here are outstanding, I have never spent as much time as I do here listening to the wisdom of "most" here. I hope they all come and join with me.
While I appreciate Andrew and support his success, I wonder how different "Big Government" is going to be from "Big Hollywood".
Since its inception, "Big Hollywood" has grown beyond its original scope and turned into a general conservative commentary site. I wonder if "Big Government" is simply going to be a site that takes some of the non-Hollywood related posts from here and puts them in a new venue.
Don't get me wrong, I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I am just tempering my enthusiasm.
Sounds like it will be one of my regular cyberspace stops!
I'm IN.
Not Over.
With the exception of the first two sentences, I agree with what you say, particularly the following:
"I am very suspect of any type of film criticism that is based on a political ideology, whether it is right or left. "
and
"artistic creativity tends to thrive in the face of oppression".
Very true, indeed. And right now, the conservative movement is the oppressed.
So, stay tuned.
Or wow about Big Bags of Wind
Or how about Big Bags of Wind
Excellent idea! Though I'm in Boehner's district, so it might not be open, or Jeffrey Jena might beat me to it!
Sounds like a plan!
Great News!
Excellent news… If only the real big government would have a way for the public to speak to their representatives like this, we would truly have a representative form of government. A lost concept as the town hall meetings have clearly demonstrated.
I'm a huge fan of "Big Hollywood"….. I hope it's as good.
Bookmarked !
Already taken…. darn! I would have bought the domain too!
I would have had a spinning disc and hypnotize anyone who came
