Help Send Five Wounded Warriors to Dinner with Sarah Palin

I’ve set up a special site at Causes.com to allow for all of us to participate in the R2R auction in order to win a dinner with Sarah Palin for five wounded warriors.
This is how it works:
1. Go to this site and make a donation directly to R2R.
2. At the end of the auction, Friday Sept. 18th, the accumulated donations will be entered as a bid for the DINNER WITH SARAH PALIN auction.
3. If this is the winning bid, FIVE deserving warriors chosen by the Ride 2 Recovery program will enjoy dinner with Sarah Palin – a wonderful evening out with a most wonderful person.
4. If this is not the winning bid, R2R will still benefit from your generous contribution and we will know that each of us will have donated to a most worthy cause.
So let’s put this “over the top” and send five guys/gals out on the town. Together we can make it happen.
I am currently sixty-three years old, retired, and am looking forward to my “golden years.” As a Marine Corps Viet Nam era veteran, I fully appreciate the sacrifices that our service members and families are making every day on our behalf. In my day there was a saying…. “All gave some and some gave all.” To that I would like to add… and some gave more than others. Being a Marine I have a firm belief in teamwork, such that by acting together great things can be accomplished. In my opinion this is one of those times.

Actually, I think that's a good question, what the heck? Gov. Palin deserves a bit better than that I think, come on, at least copy the image and save it as something else then reset the address in the html or whatever's used. The image looks like "http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/files/2009/09/Sarah-Palin-racist-alaska-obama1.jpg" according to the page code, as well as the title & alt. This does give kind of a bad impression I think.

I just donated ! This is one of the best foundations to help our "Real Heroes".
I love this woman ! Just read her op ed at WSJ. Sarah Palin will be one of the great Presidents.

Tonight, Keith Olbermann made Ms. Palin his #1 story. He can't stand it that she is giving her time to a worthy cause. Don't see Keith doing the same.
I would sooner have lunch with Sarah Palin at the worst McDonald's in America than would have Dinner with Olbermann at Manhattan's finest steak house.
Doublely so, now that it's going to help our brave fighting men and women who gave their bodies for our land.
A dinner with Sarah Palin would be a great event for anyone that recognizes what a conservative leader she is, but no one would be more deserving of that great dinner than any of our wounded warriors!

A strong conservative base, but zero support among independents = election day loser. The media did way too good a job of charicaturing her. The casual public thinks she's actually Tina Fey.

Why would anyone want a dinner with Palin? She made it to state governer, but the moment she was selected as a VP candidate her political career crashed and burned. It's over now: She resigned. All that's left in her future is a lucrative career on the talk circuit, giving speeches at fundraisers and pro-life events. I'm sure it'll pay well, but it's no elected office.
This is a great idea! I think Sarah and Todd would rather have dinner with 5 wounded vets than anyone else quite frankly. Bravo!!

Anyway, elected office is something Van Jones never had at all. He didn't have to win a campaign. He wasn't accountable to ANYONE. Hardly had any job description. Cushy situation. And he QUIT.

The eBay info is…interesting. $25,000 _minimum_ bid?! I hope the soldiers win it, but who is likely to pony up that much money these days? I did love all the provisos–basically if Sarah don't like yer looks, you ain't gettin' dinner! Can't say I blame her. I suppose a sleazy news outlet might think it's worth the money to try and force an interview, but how do they vet anyone who makes a bid & weed out the cranks and Sarah fans who lack $25g's? Best of luck for a great cause!

I don't mean to be rude, but I work with our disabled vets on a daily basis, and I hope to God they screen the ones who win this dinner out with our lovely Sarah.
I could put together a team of five guys from our local VA hospital that you seriously would not believe. They make Lt. Dan look like Tom Netherton. On the other hand, if Olbermann is up for some charity work, I'd be happy to set up a dinner date with him…
