Was there ever anybody more sultry than Marlene?
"government programs are far less likely to solve the country's problems than to solve the politician's problem of getting the votes of those who think the answer to every problem is for government to "do something." – Thomas Sowell
Watch the Washington weasels, they’re waxing nostalgic over Ted Kennedy. Be sure to contact your representatives and keep their minds clear on “government controlled healthcare.”
Jane Russell?
Marlene Dietrich
Beauty, beholder and all that………
I get it– I thought you were saying the picture was of Jane. Marlene did do sultry extremely well, but I would never try to qualify those two ladies
The dems actually think that the American people will be swayed by naming this health care crap after Teddy "Ooops drove off the bridge, sorry" Kennedy"? How out of touch are they? The American public can't stand him or the dem congress. They can't stand the Repubs, either, but that's a different matter all together.
On topic, the women yesterday was much, much hotter. Is sultry still an acceptable term for a hot women these days? I've been married for close to thirty years so I'm sort of out of touch.
"Teddy Care" I'm all for it. Let's give everyone the same access to health care he had tfor the last 40 years up till the day of his passing.
Marlene's voice is as much a part of her 'sultry' as is her appearance.
It's hard to believe that even a full-court MSM carpet-bombing of "Rememberances of Ted Kennedy" will sway the health care debate one way or another. Even in the best light the guy was a walking, talking billboard for the almost Neroesque excessives of the legislative class. In all fairness however many reliable sources have reported that, as a day-to-day Senator, Kennedy represented the interests of Massachusetts well and "did his homework" concerning his constituents. That's not to be sneezed at.
Also – Great Hornytoads (as Yosemite Sam would say) – Was Marlene Dietrich an amazing woman. Actually she wasn't "beautiful" in the conventional sense but projected an air of sophisticated sensuality (and not a little forbidden kink) that just blew the camera away. She was an expert technician concening her own image and always gave explicit (and correct) directions on how she was to be lit , in what focus and through which lenses. It might have ben obsessive but it sure worked. They don't make icons like that anymore.
Breeder is an insult to homosexuals. Calling one that is akin to calling a black man N#####.
Hail Kennedy! He's helping to push Michael Jackson off the news.
Marlene Dietrich – her early 30s work with mentor/director Josef von Sternberg is phenominal. He made her a star. Post von Sternberg – watch and see on a case by case basis.
You had to love this Gal. She dared to be who she was and be known. Her daughter Maria Riva wrote a wonderful biography on her mothers life. I highly recommend it for those who really want to get to know Marlene. Quite a Women.
Maybw we should call it Mary Jo Kopechne Care.
Maybe we should call it Mary Jo Kopechne Care.
Mmm… women were so pretty back in the "Golden Age" of Hollywood… not that some aren't sexy now… but women back then had this unspoken power of seduction instead of so overt like now…
well shoving your parts in people's faces tends to diminish the mystery.
"I tired, tired of pwaying the game…..ain't it a cwyin' shame…..I'm…..sooo……tiiiyyuuuddd".
I agree with item 1. I might be inclined to think their health care plan is worth looking into the day their willing to subject themselves to it. "beware the cook whoe won't eat his own food"
That, and talking about politics, which goes for the male actors as well.

*lol* nice Blazing Saddles reference.
Very true…
Trust me it's the monochrome.
"where are you Chiana"
I agree, I don't believe it will sway the debate much, but what it will do is give the press hours of prewritten scripts, the ones they break out every November 22. I know, my birthday is November 21, and for as long as I can remember, that's what floods the news every time it comes around.
The statists who worship government and believe it is humanity's savior will swoon on queue. Those actually interested in the details are unlikely to be swayed by the propaganda.
Uh…., Andrew Breitbart is not out to save Hollywood.
I'm thinking 'Mary Jo Kopechne Care' is what Obama and the dems are pushing now — you know, the government just discards us when we no longer serve their purpose?
Let gay people rail away, they are a genetic anomoly that we are on the verge of eliminating.
Let gay people rail away, they are a genetic anomaly that science is on the verge of eliminating.
No doubt you are tight. The graybeards of the MSM will put on their best funeral demeanor, run hours of black-and-white footage from "Camelot" and sonorously inform us what a "giant" the late senator was. My plan is not to read the paper nor watch a news program for the next three or four days. There's nothing journalists like more than a good maudlin mud-wallow. I'm dreading hte day Pete Seeger makes his exit.
Whoa, wait a second. A pseudo-literate troll came to a conservative website and made a thinly veiled Nazi accusation? I am shocked. That has never happened before in the history of teh interwebz ever.
Get a new schtick, dickbag.
I can't look at Marlene Dietrich without getting a Madeline Kahn image in my head…..
Schnitzengrubens……LMAO……
And he couldn't even spell Adolph right…..
Did anybody see the ABC network special/hagiography on the hero of Chappaquidick? I saw a nanosecond of the begining sequence, with a grinning Teddy being smear-lensed up and I had to turn that junk off.
No effin way am I wasting even a minute of my time to watch the MSM fawn all over him.
The question that immediately came to my mind is, does the fella who was here insulting us as "breeders" think that gay couples should be allowed by law to adopt the surplus products of our "breeding"? How can you disparage an act without disparaging equally the outcome of that act?
If that attitude is systemic through the gay community it seems to me a pretty reasonable argument againt legalizing gay adoptions.
I prefer Teddy, "claw marks on the headliner" Kennedy.
Dude, who peed in your Fruit Loops this morning?
There's a picture of Marlene Deitrich up top with no text attached.
At least find one of Andrew's actual posts to rant about.

I concur. Life is so much more pleasant when you just tune out the crap. My list of topics to completely avoid, making life much more fun includes anything about Kennedys, Michael More, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Rossie O'Donnell, Garafalo, etc.
Tune them out, and spend your time enjoying the world around you!
Not science, but nature. They are a dead end.
The coverage of Ted Kennedy by Time Magazine (I know, I know, but I check in now and again to see how the other side thinks) is the most nauseating I've seen yet. The opening sentence reads: "There was a time 40 years ago, right after the assassination of his brother Robert, when it looked like Edward Kennedy would become President someday by right of succession." "Right of succession!" Ugh!
Scary thought. Now I know what they're going to do with all of the clunkers they've amassed from the well executed cash for clunkers program… I suggest that everyone stay away from the bridge!
But I'm not insulted or offended. I have two children with plans to have more. Breeder isn't the term I would have picked, but it's fairly accurate, and downright innocuous to boot.
If they really wanted to offend, they should call us liberals.
Hey, look, a monkey at the keyboard!
Isn't "sultry" geriatric slang for "skanky?"
the health care issue is a chimera…
Pay FAR more attention to the finacial mess, folks. If we don't sort this out soon (slash taxes and spending and live within our means even if it's painful) the healthcare thing won't really matter. Both parties are AWOL on this.
It's the major focus of the Town hall crowds, socialized medicine a sideshow. Our Republic is at stake, people.
Those who want radical change don't even have a clue what it is they are bringing about…
If we don't wise up- and soon- the health care will be reduced to a Monty Python 'Holy Grail' skit.
Eric Idle: (ringing the bell on a cart stacked with bodies) Ding! "Bring out yoyr dead"… Ding! "Bring out your dead"
any questions?

Guess that puts him in the untalented category, huh?
"Kopechne Care," has a nice ring to it!
How much you wanna bet he's got a lazy eye too….
I have a friend named Adolph and he is black and I'm sure would be offended by your racist mispelling of his name.
We are under siege by witless trolls!
I used to subscribe to Time, but the last presidential campaign was too much. I couldn't take it. So I sent them a letter to the editor telling them exactly what I thought of their rag, and I and my money were going elsewhere.
I got a couple of responses from them, and a letter about once a month begging for me to please come back, which I happily throw away. The last one offered me a 90% discount off news stand prices.
The joy of freedom to decide what I read!
The debate is getting interesting. Michael Steele was interviewed on NPR this morning, and he made the reporter out to be the schmuck he was.
In order to refute the death panel charge, the left is claiming these life and death decisions are already being made by insurance companies, which is a lie wrapped in a partial truth. A health insurance policy is a legally binding contract, and insurance companies can not arbitrarily change it. But they can hold the patient to their end, yes, that is true.
But unwittingly, they are also admitting health insurance is a commodity, not a right. That's where the real fight is. Getting the language of the debate un-knotted. You can not address an issue if the you don't use the correct language.
With no evidence as to the posters looks, I will not stoop to their level of senseless insults.
Okay, maybe just this once. Bad complexion too!
For a little clarity on the inner workings of the Justice Dept.:
Bill Rickardson is going to be cleared of Pay for Play – No more investigation necessary.
Black Panthers cleared of voter intimidation in Philly – even with the pics and video.
CIA being investigated through appt. of special council even after being looked at and cleared previously. You know – the guys who have helped to keep us safe.
Chew on that for a bit.
Wow. Andrew Brietbart is catching major heLl over at the Huffy Pot for calling Teddy some names yesterday. It's a feeding frenzy.
And his mother dresses him funny.
That explains why we have an illiterate troll here.
My TV has been off for two days now. Can't bear to watch it.
So true. Sowell is my favorite political writer.
Stan, you just had a "0" rating. Either you're being haunted by the ghost a dead, drunken murderer, or we've got trolls.
By the way, am I the only one who is sick of Republicans praising dead Democrats? I don't see the left returning the favor? Good riddance is all I've got to say about Teddy K.
You can never criticize a leftwing diety without upsetting the faithful.
Just an intemperate thought… I wonder if Mary Jo Kopechne is going to “Bork” Kennedy at the “Gates of Gabriel?”
Hell I do it BECAUSE it upsets the faithful…..
And he does poorly on standardized tests.
I do it because they deserve it. Upsetting the faithful is just a pleasant side-effect.
LOL! Andrew, it makes my day to piss off a troll.
I knew it would.
at 43, that doesn't happen to me much anymore.
its; twoo! it's twoo IT"S TWOO!
I didn't think anybody here would.
It's amazing. ABC and NBC are in a race to see who can fellate the Democrat Party the most. It's neck and neck.
it's twoo! it's twoo IT"S TWOO!
You mean shaft and shaft……
sorry, couldn't help it….
Hahahaa.
No, I was practically teeing you up for that one.
ok in your and my cases it is more figurative rather than literal, but still
Watched Howard Davidowitz this morning on Yahoo Finance talking about how Obama's budget numbers are absolutely outrageously out of control. He was really letting Barack have it.
more like Neil and Bob…
<<Eric Idle: (ringing the bell on a cart stacked with bodies) Ding! "Bring out your dead"… Ding! "Bring out your dead" any questions? >>
Yes, I have one. How did you know that was my cell's ring tone?
Ahh Gigi Edgley, she made you want to "go grey."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
ahh the memories…
they're gonna need alot of shampoo and conditioner if they want to keep that Newscaster hair of theirs. All that necking, shafting, kneeling and bobbing leaves such a mess; especially since it's being done 24/7
So basically ABC and NBC employ a bunch of cast-offs from the porno-fluffer industry….
if we would have been forced to make a guess that would be one of them…
trouble is, they know and don't care…
you are, of course, correct…
However it doesn't make much difference now. We are arguing about the deck chairs as the RMS Titanic is plowing into the iceberg…
Call me a hopeless optimist, but I don't think this is over by a long shot.
With the GOP on the sidelines, they have no incentive to try and convince voters to support this mess, so its basically We The People vs. the powerful liberal elite. And they people are finding their voices on the subject. Personally I'm extremely proud to be an American when I see average every day Americans stand up and shout "I'm reading it right out of your bill!"
Ten years ago, yes, it would have been a done deal by now. But we're in the age of the new media. The old MSM can't keep a lid on these protests. We are communicating with each other and communicating our outrage to the government, bypassing the dying MSM, and they can no longer brush it off because it's not coming from Dan Rather or Time magazine.
I get a really good, positive feeling about this!
I also have the Lumberjack song, Cotton Eyed Joe and Bad to the Bone in there.
Quite possibley the best biography ever written, IMO. Absolutely fascinating. Dietrich may not have always been likable (as if she cared!), but she was undeniably intriquing. Her life offscreen would make a terrific film.
I do find some sport in watching just how far Olbermann and Matthews will go in their drooling man-love for Teddy and for themselves. Some of us had bets on if Olbermann would have a "personal" story to relate to his 5 viewers about how much Ted liked his "newshour." Sure enough, Keith didn't let us down. What a self-absorbed fool!
A wed wose! How womantic!
I'm with you SD. Definitely one of the Best put to paper. I'd gladly put 12 bucks down to see a movie on her life that's for sure . There was talk of a movie a few years back but I guess it never got passed the talking stage, to bad. Well here's hoping.
no pooftahs!
Brutal.
Not worth it.

you need to keep the hope alive. Doing nothing is not an option. But consider the dire straits we as a society are now entering and the utter lack of comprehensive solutions.
We will be quite lucky to have the medical issue as our only crisis… but we, too have hope that better times are possible.
