Aside from the political abominations Kennedy forced on the US, two things regarding that individual stick in my throat: one, obviously, is Chappaquidick, which laid open once and for all that enough money and political influence will buy one out of anything.
The second being the influence exerted on the Navy to find John jr's plane when it went down in the Atlantic. My problem is not that the family wanted them found, but rather that none of us 'common people' in similar circumstances could have ever gotten the use of U S Navy resources to find our loved ones.
No better examples of RHIP (rank hath its privilege, for the non-military) exist in my mind. And that just points out vividly how elitist those in Congress consider themselves compared to the voters that put them there.

It is Dorothy Lamour. She did movies with Bob Hope. I think she was a Spanish/French/Irish gal from New Orleans.

Talk about actresses we don't have anymore. Dorothy Lamour was almost perfect. She was stunning and sensual yet also a classy broad with great timing and a terriffic sense of humor. The "Road" pictures are great but I also love the films she made with Bob Hope alone such as "Caught in the Draft" and "My Favorite Brunette." By all accounts she was a fine person who aged gracefully and felt no regrets on giving up her "glamour girl" image. She was that rarity in Hollywood – a genuine grown-up.

Ohh.. those lips.. it's the first thing I always remember seeing whenever I saw Ms Lamour on the screen… (I really need to get my entire Road collection replaced.. I miss those movies )

This was the same scumbag that George Bush let write an educational bill and come over to the White House to watch "13 Days" and in the next breath he was essentially calling Bush a Nazi (even though Nazi's were lefty socialists, but then again Ted didn't have a very good academic career). I just read the article about R. Lee Ermey wanting to "square away" the Birthers with good ol' American common sense. I've met Lee and he's a great guy, so I highly recommend his article and his new series on The History Channel "Lock and Load"

Edward M ('Ted') Kennedy was a piece of work right down to his last days. In 2004 he insisted a change in the MA laws that wouldn't allow then Gov Mitt Romney to name John Kerry's successor.

So they created a special election 150 days out.

Now, with his imminent demise he appealed the MA legislature to repeal his initiative and go back to an appointed succesor- so they could still have their 60 votes. Class act to the end…

I don't see how it can be legal…however, notice the above quote said MAY RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT. Translation: if it is illegal, then no college credit for you, but thanks for the free labor!!

Our representative had a townhall, and he was perturbed to find many of his constituents were rather upset over the UHC. When a woman asked him how is this bill not socialism, he replied that the use of highways is also a form of socialism. She b!tchslapped him, telling him the "public roads" were in the Constitution, but UHC was not. She got a standing ovation.

The Constitution is being read furiously and thoroughly, and the politicians are alarmed

In the midst of a mess when leadership is needed, Obama suddenly ducks out to Martha's Vineyard, enjoying a privileged perk that "those who are being fought for" in the health care debate couldn't afford, even making it public that he is paying for it despite how that will appear to the unemployed and those suffering.

He announces he has no plans to take a short side trip to see Ted Kennedy. Ah, he talks to Ted on the phone. Thus it is established Obama is away from Hyannis Port.

The next day, Ted Kennedy is dead. In one fell swoop the liberals gain a distraction from and a focus for the health care debate. "Let's do it for Ted! ObamaCare is what he wanted!"

I'm from New York. Politically its a very strange place. The population centers are die hard liberals, and rural folks are red staters through and through. Thanks to the millions in NYC, liberal democrats usually come out on top.

The real test would be if Rudy Gulliani does throw his hat in the ring for governor. I think he can pull it off. Even against Andrew Cuomo.
