I've noticed the Left/Dems have been telegraphing their next moves all along…using projection. Whatever they accuse the right of doing using the strongest and most outrageous terms they can find, they soon end up doing themselves and to a greater extent than anyone ever imagined. Because the current president and his counterparts in Congress don't mind if our system blows apart for they don't believe in the way it's set up in the first place. If it all comes unwired they are sitting in the catbird seat (whatever a catbird seat is) to have a panicked citizenry relinquish more power and control to them, the government, which becomes very collectivist…call it socialist, marxist, tyranny, or statist. My brother is a Marine. He has done a tour in Afghanistan and when he came home all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins showed up at the airport and waited up till almost midnight to see him and his battle buddy get off the plane. His wife ran through a shuffling crowd beating them away to get to her husband. This Man like my brother has had to spend months away from his family. Missing birthdays, anniversaries, Holidays, and all the little moments that the rest of us take for granted. All to defend what the founding fathers and the militia men before them fought to have. Now they have to fight to keep it that way. Why have them fight two wars? Dont they deserve to have a little time to gather those moments? Cant these people uphold the constitiution or will the constitution be rewritten? Like this bill will be to attempt to make our health care the governments buisiness. Dont have them fight two wars Congressman Baird. Listen to your constituents. Or you wont have to worry about these meetings,because you will not be in office any more.

kpaint, there was a time when Marines categorized themselves as ex-Marines. They were told that there was no ex allowed in their vocabulary. At that point they began referring to themselves as Former Marines to distinguish themselves from those who were still on active duty. Thus it would be accurate to call him a Former Marine, as I do myself.
Semper Fi, and by the way there is no experation date on the oath we all took who have served in the Armed Forces. The oath did not have any mention of being applicable for only the time under active service. Most of us who have had the privilage of serving under arms know this, but it seems that many who are serving in elected office do not under stand.

I have found on YouTube there are some really dumb leftist commentators (like the one there who wants to blame everything on Bush) – I have taken some on; ignored others. 1) By following Bush's timeline for withdrawing troops from Iraq.
2) By ramping UP the war in Afghanistan.

I think it always comes as a big shock to the left how truly noble and honorable our military men and women are. I'm not sure why, since they throw them around on the political global chessboard like they are truly pawns in a game, and then shout epithets at them and accuse them of all sorts of evils. As a 26 year Navy veteran I have never used the VA even when I could because it is a classic example of what socialized medicine is…..Extremely POOR! My brother, also a Navy veteran died while waiting for the VA to decide his case and whether he was a good candidate for the surgery that would have saved his life. After years of living with a ticking time bomb inside his brain they finally gave him the go ahead and when he went to Bethesda for the surgery they the Navy doctors told him it was too late, the problem has progressed to the point that is was now inoperable and for him to go and enjoy his two little girls for the 6 months they figured he had left. Don't talk to me about VA health care, you pompous azz.

Although it is an inspiration to see so many TRUE AMERICANS show such passion for our country and those values we hold sacred, it is at the same time a frightening set of circumstances which make it necessary. Like many who have posted here, I am a verteran, retired United States Army, Vietnam Vet, and I am NOT ashamed to say that either. The oath I took at 17 years of age bound me FOREVER to support and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. That oath did NOT come with an expiration date.
Just because he is "discharged" doesn't mean he is NOT a Marine…. Once a Marine… always a Marine. God Bless him and all he stands for. PS. My son is serving our Country right now as US Marine… and I am one proud mama!

Having fought side by side with the Marines in Nam, i asure you that the Army supports them in any fight that comes along.
I have 2 friends that are Marines. 1 has a bumper sticker that says "not as lean not as mean, but still a Marine." They still carry the pride and honor. I was in the Air Force. ( I was too much of a weakling to make Marine Basic.)
Our freedom was paid for by the US Military. They gave us the rights we enjoy. Politicians can only take credit for them or take them away.

“Once a Marine or Soldier or Airman or Sailor, ALWAYS ONE!!!” With everything going on with the OBAMA Health Care, my own system, Emergency Public Access Medical Response System, http://www.bkmedic.com can't get funding to save lives. When I approached a local EMS board about my system, their reply was "It is too complicated!" Their 800 megahertz radio needs an eight hour block of instructions to use.
Mine is designed so a three/four year old can use it or you can use it on yourself. Go figure!
With an almost 20 year career with the Army, almost all in the medical field, I find it disturbing that I could be anywhere in the world in eighteen hours and see patients, but it took FEMA over three weeks to respond to Katrina. OUR OWN COUNTRY!
I could have millions for my system if I want to give 30-50% of it to venturing capitalist. I would rather use that money to help my fellow man. Pass this on and bless those who serve!!!!

What is with the anger and name calling? I just don't get it. Are all those people in the audience there because they are angry with Obama for bringing up health care reform? Why? We need to do something, people! Don't let the Republicans divert your attention from the goal. They want things the way they are because they are paid by insurance companies and lawyers who make billions off the poor. If you are on medicare or social security, and you are against reforming healthcare in this country, then I suggest you put your money where your mouth is and send your government checks back to the sender.
To say the things this Marine says in this day and age shows him to be still a true patriot. I'm not sure I could say them openly but I can say this. To ignore history is to invite its repeat. Study the history that is no longer taught in our public schools nor on our TV networks. Learn how the Communists took over Russia in 1917 with less than 4% of the Russians as members. Learn how the National Socialists did likewise in Germany. Then ask yourself if you see parallels here and now. Be prepared to get scared.

You obviously don't get it. Those who served their country in the military took an oath at their entry to the service. These individuals, of which I am one, have placed their very lives in the hands of those in Washington with the expectation and promise that their medical needs resulting from the service would be taken care of. Medical care foe a nations veterans is NOT socialized medicine, but is the fulfilment of a basic cost of having a free republic. I'm sorry that you can't see the difference between a grateful nation taking care of those who fought for and preserve the nations freedom and the socialist abomination that our lalwmakers are trying to cram down our throats. As for trust, Can you really mention trust, and compare the insurance companies to our esteemed lawmakers and Presdient? While I am yet to read the comments on this page. I'll remind / inform you all, that while the Nazis did produce many atrocities, they were also a large contributing factor to some magnificent technological mile-stones. This is not speaking only of military advancement (I am unaware of that depth), but of promoting patriotism and greater health for their public.
The physical body was considered property of Germany. Not in the sense (I assume) of 'I say it: you do it.' But, rather, damaging yourself (smoking, drug use) damaged Germany, as well.
