What pisses me off is that I was there and I didn't see this guy on our side until I came home and saw him on every news station. There's video of him, apparently taken later in the day, that shows him standing on the opposite corner, chanting slogans with the pro-Obama people. I get the uneasy feeling that while he was hanging around with us, he was trying to get noticed by CNN and the Associated Press; once they'd got their lunatic-Republican-gun-nut story, he felt free to show his true colors.

Oh well. In the worst case scenario, even if he was a plant, he still made the case for gun rights.

The statists will never give up on this. The surest, quickest, most guaranteed method for controlling a population is the power to arbitrarily decide life and death.

They will never, ever, ever stop trying. I look at America and I see proof positive that capitalism, democracy and free markets are the key to best life experience humanity has ever devised. They look at it and see suffering, cruelty, hatred, racism, and what ever else turns their stomachs.

So they will never give up on the concept that American can be forced to be a Utopia if only the right person is at the wheel. And there will never be a shortage of those who claim to be that person.

I thought he was awesome in The Ten Commandments, especially bargaining with Yul Brenner for evidence Moses is actually Jewish.

I'm probably biased though, I love that movie, I try watch the entire thing every Easter Sunday, while the rest of the family sleeps off the ham dinner.

Ed, your second paragraph is SO true… i have lived over seas for a number of years and CAPITALISM, and DEMOCRACY are the best things on this face of the earth……the other things you mentioned are LIFE in general we are people…. and we will have some that are CRUEL, SUFFER to much adversity, HATE, RACISM, and anything else they can complain about….. I include myself in some of those things as well….. I will say that our country will SUFFER if the Messiah gets the control he wants or is it turn our GREAT country into a SOCIALIST society!!!!!! which truly is the SUCK!

Maybe you are a little biased on that one, because, to me, it is one of his few 'bad' performances…if he could ever be 'bad'.

I love his dramas and near anything in which he gives one of his trade-mark long speeches w/o any camera cutaways. In some of these shots, he speaks for 2 minutes straight! And the dialog is complex as in DOUBLE INDEMNITY in which he rattles of the many ways and sub-ways (haha) in which a person can commit suicide.

The audio clip is online somewhere, but here is Robinson's bravura speech to his boss:

"You know, you, uh, ought to take a look at the statistics on suicide sometime. You might learn a little something about the insurance business…Come now, you've never read an actuarial table in your life, have you? Why, they've got 10 volumes on suicide alone. Suicide by race, by color, by occupation, by sex, by seasons of the year, by time of day. Suicide, how committed: by poisons, by firearms, by drowning, by leaps. Suicide by poison, subdivided by types of poison, such as corrosive, irritant, systemic, gaseous, narcotic, alkaloid, protein, and so forth. Suicide by leaps, subdivided by leaps from high places, under the wheels of trains, under the wheels of trucks, under the feet of horses, from steamboats. But Mr. Norton, of all the cases on record, there's not one single case of suicide by leap from the rear end of a moving train. Oh that's never going to happen. If the President told the people what exactly the plan really is, there'd be lynch mobs in front of the White House.

You know where the so-called "health care crisis" really is? Medicare and Medicaid are going bankrupt. It's not We The People who can't pay our bills, its the Federal Government. At some point, those programs are going to have to go into ration mode in order to survive. No other choice.

When that happens, the left's entire facade comes crashing down. It all collapses. Because those of us who aren't on the government programs will have our current plans, while a significant number of Americans will be literally pleading for their lives in front of government bureaucrats.

When that happens, the entire fairy tale the left lives by, that government is the answer to everything, as long as democrats are running the show, will be proven to be the lie it is. Those who take care of themselves will be fine, and those who jumped on the federal gravy train will be begging for health care.

There goes the entire liberal facade out the window. And that they can not survive. Their answer? Force every one into the government plan, and then every one will be in the sinking ship, not just those who bought the fairy tale.

PLEASE SEE THIS FILM! "KATYN" directed by Adrzsej Wajda, a brilliant Polish director. This film is a masterpiece. It concerns the massacre of over 10,000 Polish officers, plus thousands of other Polish intelligencia, by the Russians in 1940. Their bodies were dumped in mass graves in the Katyn forest. After the War, the Russians lied and said that the Nazis had murdered the Polish officers. Wajda's own father was one of the officers massacred – this film is his tribute to his father and his grieving mother who died of sorrow afterwards. This film is perfect. It is a masterpiece. Please see it. "Katyn".

In Frank Capra's autobiography, he described an intense incident on the set of "A Hole In the Head": Edward G. Robinson flew into an unaccustomed to rage at Capra, so livid that he had tears in his eyes as he went off at the director – "I was a star at Warner's for 20 years! You're toadying to Sinatra!"…and Robinson walked off the set!

The problem – Sinatra would not rehearse with Robinson. The bigger problem – The more Sinatra rehearsed, the worse his performance became, but the more Robinson rehearsed, the better *his* performance became…..and they had many scenes together in the film.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, capitalism is the worst idea ever, except for everything else. Give me a blood thirsty capitalist willing to sell me the rope I want to hang him with over any communist/socialist/progressive who wants to make my life better for me any time.

I can deal with a capitalist, but you can't deal with the government.

This is not a dis at your post, but I've taken a personal oath to completely avoid interaction, at all, with certain people, who so far off the deep end, being exposed to them causes me physical pain.

You know how there are some people, that no matter what they say, or do, or write, or what ever, you just know its going make you roll your eyes and think 'I can not stand anymore of this.'? I decided to just stop letting them in. Michael Moore is on that list. So was Michael Jackson, and still are, Rossie O'Donnell, Keith Olberman, Garafolo, etc.

There is no reasoning with these kind of people. They are convinced that you not agreeing with them itself is proof they are superior in every way.

My system worked great, a lot less eye rolling (though I'm loosing muscle tone in my retinas) and I haven't groaned in years. How ever, when it comes to government, it breaks down. Because I can't completely ignore them.

Please don't take it the wrong way. There is a lot of optimism in this. If the government takes over, I have little to no choice.

But, if they don't, then I have a choice. And no one can tell me what to do. I have freedom. Not a lot, but some.

And that's what it's all about. Life can be grim, heck, yes it is. We're born, we live, we die. We succeed, we fail. Things work out, and they don't. It's life. The problem I have with the left is they say if they are in control, that will all go away. They can make it perfect. No they can't. All they can do is make it nicer for themselves. Which is what I'm trying to do, for myself, I'm just not asking some one else to pay for it. I'm doing it myself.

And as hard as that is, it still beats the heck out of any one else making these decisions for me.

So what? All that millions will see and hear on the news is that someone brought a gun to an event with the President. This behavior does not advance the cause. The reason why some speculated that the guy was a plant is because it would make sense for the Obama people to have such a plant there. Which means it cannot be good for us.
