The Bush era 'suspicious behavior' involved alerting authorities to behavior that could lead to another terrorist attack. I have no problem with that.
The Obama Snitch Brigade, on the other hand, is only for furthering Obama and Co.'s intent to 'change' this country from a Republic to a Socialist state. And Obamacare, if it passes, is one HUGE STEP in that direction.
It shouldn't take a Mensa IQ for people to be able to distinguish the difference between the two.
Mark Levin talked about it last night. People are talking about it and comparing it to Nazi, and Stalin.
The remarkable thing is that the WH can check this out from perusing the Web. It isn't that hard to find out just who is who behind our names. The real reason is to find new workers for the regime. New Acorns so to speak.
I'm wondering why the White House is telling citizens to report "suspicious" activity in debates over the healthcare plan. On the White House website it says that discrmination towards the new healthcare plan is being seen in low-level chain e-mails and in casual conversation. They encourage anyone who sees this to report the person through an e-mail the White house has set-up. Is this not insane how we can no longer voice opinions about our own healthcare plan without it being called discrimination!?!?! I say, flag me all you want I will not shut-up about this ridiculous healthcare plan that the Libs want to push through as fast as possible. it continues to show signs of putting seniors at the bottom of the list and who would want a Government bureaucrat in charge of their health to begin with??? So be prepared folks, now we could get "flagged" by the White house for disagreeing with their socialist plans, pssh.

Obama's dissident database could be secret — and permanent
The White House request that members of the public report anyone who is spreading "disinformation" about the proposed national health care makeover could lead to a White House database of political opponents that will be both secret and permanent, according to Republican lawyers on the Senate Judiciary Committee who are examining the plan's possible implementation.

After Palin, Alaska attorney general wants to target 'bad faith' complaints
Just days after Sarah Palin left the governor's office, in part because of a crush of what she called frivolous ethics complaints, Alaska's new attorney general is proposing sweeping changes in how such matters are handled.
Attorney General Dan Sullivan on Wednesday released a 19-page opinion about the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act and said reforms are needed to prevent bad-faith misuse of the process.

How Is America Going To End?
Five steps to totalitarian rule.
As Hitler and Mussolini prepared to storm Europe, fascism began to generate interest in the United States. In Sinclair Lewis' 1935 novel, It Can't Happen Here, an American president uses an economic crisis as a pretense to take over the media, imprison dissenters, and build his own private army (the Minute Men) into an indomitable force. Fascism's appeal in America wasn't entirely fictional. In the 1930s, the U.S., Italy, and

I know how you feel, but she still would quit. It will take more than just a day to get new ethics reform that targets 'bad faith' complaints. Besides she is wasted up there in Alaska.
Not exactly. One reason Hitler's Brownshirts were so successful is that the populace was already disarmed. Our population isn't. Until Acorn people are put in charge of local police, I refuse to be scared.
you'd think not, but…
I doubt that will ever happen, and if they think they can just show up and take people's guns then they have another thing coming….
I say we send them emails of our selves, telling them what we think. Why wait for someone else email them about what we are saying? Lets cut out the middle man, flood their email and use it as our ever louder voice of opposition to higher taxes and over reaching Government control.
John Cornyn is my Senator, I'm proud to say. It enrages me that these people are trying to intimidate us into silence. They need to be strongly reminded at election time that they work for us. The job title is "public servants," not "lords and masters over all the plebeians."
No comments about the flick? "Midnight Cowboy" is most interesting to me in that when it was first released it carried the dreaded "X" rating (since renamed "NC-17").
Nowadays they'd show it on Fox primetime…
We have changed a lot since the '60s. Not all for the good.
I, too, refuse to be scared — (gulp) but it ain't easy.
I barely remember this movie. I thought it was wonderful at the time but I can't remember why. I wonder if I would like it as uch if I saw it again.
I think I liked it because of Hoffman's wonderful character. And that incredible death scene on the bus.
Boxer and Pelosi… testimony to what happens to a brainless bimbo once they get old and lose their looks (though, admittedly, I've never seen them in their younger days and cannot truly attest to whatever was lost). In said cases, beauty may be skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone.

Cornyn's a good Texan…but then a Texan wouldnt just be alarmed, he'd be shouting : REMEMBER THE ALAMO, REMEMBER GOLIAD.
COME AND TAKE IT, OBAMA, you marxist pig! Why so socialist?
excellent point…
recruiting new blood seems exactly what they are about; you are correct they can just visit the web, see this site. plug us into ECHELON and send out their ACORN agents to do us in… or try, anyway- but getting willing snitches is even better.
Nice job…
they are absolutely intent on showing up and taking away our firearms- don't kid yourself. it just will be on a sliding scale of increments. But the gun lobby is tough and vigilant- it will be a fight.
But it's coming…
Good film, great performances…
And a killer John Barry score, with Harry Nillsson doing the hit song 'Everybody's Talkin' (at me)… Seedy stuff well done.
No doubt, they did it in Louisiana right after Katrina, and they told people it was for their safety. Granted that was the state government, but that’s when libs had control in LA Marshal Law wasn’t declared, making it a direct violation of the 2nd amendment, and the Bush Justice Department did nothing. I warn you this isn’t as much Left vs Right as it is autocratic control vs freedom.

Who We Are
There seems to be a bit of confusion among Democrats about the nature of the opposition to their plans. Maybe I can help clear things up, by telling them a few things about us.
We’re not paid minions of any corporate interest or lobby. Most bloggers working to stop the Obama health-care disaster are like me, writing when they can find the time, because we care about the future of our country. The same is true of the people showing up at town hall meetings, and organizing rallies. Some of us are well-dressed in tailored suits. Others wear jeans and T-shirts. Most of us are dressed in what we wore to work.

That's why every American should join the NRA. Even if you don;t ever plan on owning a firearm, it's not about that it's about protecting our rights.

At the end of the 60's and into the 70's, there were a crop of films that were just incredible. 'Midnight Cowboy' is one of them. Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight were virtual unknowns. Although Hoffman, fresh off 'The Graduate' made a bold choice with his portrayal of 'Ratso Rizzo'. A unique story of friendship on the gritty streets of NY.

Many years from now, Midnight Cowboy will be best known for jump-starting Bob Balaban's career.
Not only that it was rated 'X' but it won the Academy Award for Best Picture of the Year as well. A first and last.

There is another comment made by Speaker Pelosi, that isn't getting a great deal of attention (although Dennis Prager is discussing it on his show now) is her stating people, at some town hall meetings, are bringing swastikas to them.
Pretty outrageous and a lie to boot. However as of today, the MSM has given her a pass on this. Surprise!

I hope not. The French Revolution wasn't so great. The American Revolution was. The French weren't as armed as we are. I hate to think of what some unit commander orders American soldiers to fire on Americans. In that scenario all hell will break loose.

Next to LENNY this is my seminal Hoffman movie from this era. Having seen it now at least a dozen times I have even more respect for Voights handling the far more complicated role, and pulling it off so well. Although so sad and riviting – a pure classic of from the 70's anti-hero heyday.

Alright, *I'm* going to talk about the movie poster, if no one else will. "Midnight Cowboy," was probably the first, frankest, most repulsive, and oddly, the most touching film about a gay relationship between two guys who were pretty sure they were both straight that was ever made in hollywood. I'm not any kind of a fan of gay cinema, but Dustin Hoffman's performanse as smaller-than-small-time hustler Ratso Rizzo is one of the high-water-marks of his career. John Voigt's role as the dumb cowboy who's too stupid to realize he's gay is also kind of a career standard for him. While the entire movie it's a personal favorite, and while the entire thing offends me and makes me rather uncomfortable (Particularly the scenes with the gay preacher who repeatedly hires Voigt), it's hard not to be moved by the final scenes on the bus, when they get to Miami Beach.
What is this Pelosi bias against well dressed people? She seems to dislike well dressed people with opinions. She seems to assume that they are a hired mob. Is it like a mafia reference?
I know she wants to envoke the "brooks brothers Riot", but isn't that a insider type of reference, That is really obscure. And I'm not even sure what Brooks Brothers makes. Shoes?
Why is it that poorly dressed people's opinions are valid? last poorly dressed people I saw at a protest also smelled bad.
And whart is considered "Well dressed"? is it business casual or sunday best?
Oh, I've sent them one already reporting the President, my local Democrat Congressional critters, most of the mainstream media outlets, and the person who opens and reads the e-mail.
When I've been posting stuff critical of the plan on FB I've been posting the flag addy right along with it. Let me be reported. If they actually move on private citizens it will only go further towards waking this country up.
Wonder why on the part of the repub leadership – McConnell, Boehner, etc – there has been no condemnation against the WH wanting American citizens informing on each other about 'fishy information' on Obamacare?
Cornyn of Texas seems to be the only one for the moment, and it's curious to me why there are not more. But, it seems, repubs still insist on being democrat-lite.
"Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves." ~~D.H. Lawrence, Classical American Literature, 1922

Over at Newsbusters, there's a story that refers to a MASH episode that I believe was written by one of the posters here at BH. Bret P. (Not even going to try and spell that from memory).
Mr. P. if you read this, the poster at Newsbusters is looking for a copy of the script about the wounded soldier who believed he was Jesus.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jack-coleman/2009/08...
—————————————————
I'm reminded of an episode of the old television sitcom "M*A*S*H*", titled "Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler?", about a wounded bombadier convinced he is Jesus Christ and brought to the 4077th for treatment.
Word of this reaches Col. Flagg, a cartoonish Army intelligence officer who believes Chandler is faking his injury to avoid duty.
I searched in vain for a script of the episode, but as I recall Flagg was arguing with Hawkeye Pierce and B.J. Hunnicutt about Chandler, saying this "Messiah thing" had to be nipped in the bud because it could prove contagious and who knows where it might lead.
Allegedly, she was at the corner of a 'busy intersection' and the 'officer' deemed it "dangerous". If so, then that is OK by me. A kid with a set-up just a few feet from cars whizzing by? Think of all the cars that have plowed into bus stops.
Midnight Cowboy – good performances, but I have no love for the film. Too scabby.
I remember 1970. Frigging song was everywhere.
Nicely parodied on SEINFELD.
"approved" – Hmmmmm…for what? Oh, well….wish I had copied it and then I could edit it
Fountain pens – Do you still use one?
Why? Where?
I was in HS just as the BIC pen was becoming the 'standard issue' pen. Fountain pens were on the way out, but we still used them, though I don't remember why. So much ritual involoved with them. And remember 'blue shirt pocket'? Huge ink stain on your shirt. Great for impressing the girls.
BABS BOXER : 'Patriots are Pigs!'
Snooze at eleven.
That was actually the bimbo Boxer that made the stupid comment about "well dressed people".

What she was attempting to do was belittle the middle class people that are protesting at Town Hall meetings by claiming that the last time she "was confronted with the same type of people" she supposedly put them in their place by claiming she and Ronald Reagan are from the same state and so they needed to show her some respect. The fact is, she couldn't put a Pomeranian in its place and the only reason she's in the position she's got is because she promises to make the rest of the country pay for all the crap she's promised her greedy constituents who have already demanded so many "gimme" programs that they've financially destroyed California.
By the way, Pelosi was the bimbo that tried to compare protesters to Hitler by claiming they were carrying swastikas.

John Hughes died. For a kid of the '80s, he was a giant. I think Planes, Trains and Automobiles was his crowning achievement, but Sixteen Candles and the Breakfast Club are just as classic.
This thing is organic , it's growing…this isn't Vietnam era crap, a bunch of potsmoking hippies afraid to get shot at….or faux , manufactured *outrage* because we "illegally invaded" Iraq…this power grab is aimed right at the heart of our great Democracy, it's serious and it's DANGEROUS. If this Kenyan hadn't gotten the government involved in so much private business before this POWER GRAB, I think this still would have set people's hair *on fire*…9/12 D.C.; even though I'm taking 19 hours so I can graduate in December I'm going to be there…it's THAT IMPORTANT!
They also hung her in effigy.
But that was legitimate political debate.
She wasn't black, by any chance?
Obviously not. If so, the City of Tulare would be paying for a trip to Disneyland right now…
What? We can't talk about "24"?
When Sotomayor did not answer the question "Do people have a right to self defense?", I thought she was stupid. Now, I'm not so sure. It is possible that she doesn't believe people have rights.
'80s teen flick director John Hughes dies in NYC
NEW YORK (AP) – A spokeswoman for John Hughes says the director of 1980s coming-of-age films like "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club" has died in Manhattan. Michelle Bega says the 59-year-old Hughes died of a heart attack during a morning walk. He was in Manhattan to visit family.

After Glenn Beck called the president a racist Nazi, some of his advertisers decided that bottomless white rage is off-brand: Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble and Progressive Insurance ads no longer appear during his show.
The three companies were responding to a pressure campaign started by Color of Change. A Fox News spokeswoman told TVNewser that the companies simply moved their spots to other Fox News shows, "so there has been no revenue lost" as a result of Beck's ongoing on-air self-immolation. Only souls.

After six months in the Oval Office, Pres. Barack Obama has a lower job-approval rating than did ten of the last twelve presidents at the same point in their presidencies. It was just some observations on the upcoming Season 8 with minor spoilers. I don't want to type it again if it is going to get bomped.
I touched briefly on the film earlier today. While I acknowledge there is a strong sexual undercurrent all throughout the movie, I don't agree it's "…about a gay relationship between two guys who were pretty sure they were both straight…"
Not quite. While director John Schlesinger was an openly gay man, the two main characters, as I see them, are lost souls who find some kind of friendship as they struggle at each and every turn. I never get the men are gay despite moments where Voight's character finds himself in and around other gay characters.
I agree, the last scene in the movie is very moving and powerful. Great acting.
"The National Socialist(Obama) revolution is a typical German(American) product. Its scale and historical significance can only be compared with other great events in human history. It would be false and misleading to compare this revolution to other transformations in recent European(American) history. True, it shares their impulses, their energy, and perhaps even their methods, with some exceptions. But its foundations, causes, and therefore results are entirely different. It could not have happened without the war (Iraq; opposed by MSM) and the November Revolt (Election), at least in its speed and power."
