I watched this movie once and didn't like it at all. I think this movie is blatantly manipulative emotionally. I really dislike that in a movie.

I have seen an earlier version – "Love Affair" with Irene Dunn & Charles Boyer and liked it much better. I consider it much better than the Grant/Kerr version. For one, I can't believe that Cary Grant is French, especially when compared to Charles Boyer.

There isn't a reporter in this country who will ask President Obama an actual question. For example, when the president says, "The police [who arrested my friend] acted stupidly," the reasonable question to ask isn't, "Mr. President, do you really think that the police acted stupidly?" He's already spoken to that. A journalist's job isn't to give the president a do-over. The real question, the question that NO ONE in the American media will ask, is, "Mr. President, do you believe that Mr. Gates acted stupidly when he refused to identify himself to a police officer and then insulted the police officer and his mother? And if not, sir, then is it acceptable behavior for any person being questioned by the police to refuse to identify themselves and then insult the officer and his mother, or only those persons of a certain ethnicity, or who have a personal relationship with you?"

I'm sorry, but descent means to lower. Dissent means to disagree. Is it a mistake? Or did the Marquee guy do it on purpose?

It sure was funny to watch Stephanopoulos ask Geithner over and over again about the taxes being raised, and Geithner squirming like a hooker in a confessional.

Too bad for Stephanopoulos he never questioned Geithner about his inability to be a tax paying citizen. He could have, but decided to roll over for the administration instead.

They are already irrelevant. Does anybody really trust anything they see on the news no matter what the source? It's all tainted at this point, some way more than others….

On a purely personal note, a radio-style play I wrote, which concerns terrorism, religious fanactism and appeasement, is going to be performed live at a local science-fiction convention in two weeks. I'm very excited.

As much as I like Grant and Kerr, I didn't care for An Affair to Remember. I never understood the female characters in Sleepless in Seattle who loved it so much. I preferred Tom Hanks and Victor Garber getting weepy eyed over The Dirty Dozen.

But I thought Obama was Two-Face.

But his last name was Ferrante. Not that I think he was supposed to be first-generation Italian either — the impression was that he'd lived a long time in America. My impression was that both he and his grandmother were well-traveled, but she finally settled in France and he in America.

I think Paramount is starting to realize they made a mistake making this "G.I. Joe" a global affair. They did the screening at Andrews AFB, and had meet and greet with Armed Forces personnel. Also, they are targeting the heartland states instead of the parentheses…..

A real AMERICAN hero….what was so hard to understand about THAT????

Doesn't matter, the movie will tank once people realize it really has nothing to do with G.I. Joe and everything to do with making a loud, obnoxious mess….

The MSM has to prop up the President and the democrats. They know they are a big factor in the last two elections. If the President goes down in flames, so do they.

I predict it will get worse and worse until some huge event finally brings the whole thing crashing down around them, and the MSM will find themselves in the smoking ruins of the journalistic profession.

When that happens, the new alternative media will step in. It's already happening. We saw it this week in the health care bill. There is only one reason that got postponed. The MSM wasn't the driving force in getting this crap out into the light of day. The alternative media did that. The MSM was carrying the kool aid. Rush, LGF, Mark Steyn, Hannity, BH, and the rest of the new right media did it.

Now let's keep up the pressure!

Socialists always miss the fundamental flaw with Marxism: The key to alleviating poverty (alleviating, not ending) is the generation of additional wealth, not redistribution of existing wealth.

Free market economics is not a zero sum game. Two or more people can engage in an economic transaction with out anyone loosing. All can consider themselves, if not a winner, at least satisfied. Government is a zero sum game, the only way government can give to one group is to take it from another.

What I can't figure out is how can people look at the same failures, over and over and over, and think, it will work, all it needs is to be tried one more time. With the correct 'dear leader' at the helm.

Ahhh….to be young and destructive again…..
