A new poster depicting President Obama as a version of Heath Ledger’s Joker character in The Dark Knight has appeared in Los Angeles[.]
It has a bit of everything to appeal to the drunk tank of California conservatism: Obama is in white face, his mouth (like Ledger’s Joker’s) has been grotesquely slit wide open and the word “Socialism” appears below his face. The only thing missing is a noose.
And yet, this is the same LA Weekly responsible for this cover during the previous administration:
Only thing really missing is intellectual consistency.
You may find it interesting that the same celebrated artist responsible for the iconic Obama “Hope” poster also drew this cover depicting President Bush as a blood-thirsty vampire.

I've already bought my bumper sticker and will proudly display it right next to my "Don't Tread on Me". This entire government has become a joke.

This morning I ordered one of those obama joker face shirts. The bottom caption reads: Why so socialist? I can't wait to get it.
Mikulan's actually a friend of mine and did me a solid when the mother of my son tried to kidnap my son. He used his mad skills to find her so I could serve her with a subpoena.
I also worked @ the Weekly when that cover of Bush came out. I couldn't say anything then, but I'll say it now. I was embarrassed for my fellow workers. Everybody thought it was sooooo hilarious. It wasn't. It was childish.
To my friend , Mik, I can only say, there's nothing racial about the Obama as Joker poster.

The joker was a white guy, in every movie so far. This is hardly a racial issue. It is an evil jokester trying to damage the nation.
The reason you don't see obama/biden stickers anymore has become apparent: They traded them all in and bought new cars. I got screwed out of 8k by buying a house 5 days before last years tax credit and go figure, I just traded in my old car a few months ago, no clunker credits either.. I suppose next I'll get cancer a week after my health insurance is voided by the government and they'll offer me assisted suicide as an alternative "medicine".

This is the best spot on portrayal of this ersatz president. It is perfect because he is indeed a joke but he's a very dangerous one. Kudos to the artist. I love it. I hope it is produced as a bumper sticker. These lefties and their knee jerk racism accusations are so tiresome. The poster is just emphasizing his white half.

A few months ago, you didn't see a single Prius without an O sticker. It was as though they came that way from the factory. Now, they're hard to find. I feel like taking this as a bumper sticker and slapping it on every Prius I see.

What makes this mockery of Obama signifigant is that Obama has a 51% disapproval rating and getting higher by the day. For those flailing away at the hypocrisy of L.A. Weekly, it’s a lost cause and here’s why. Let me give you an opening into the mindset of liberal post-racial politics. Especially in regard to the media.
I had an eye-opening argument with several liberal colleagues at the paper about Obama and such a subject. It was a discussion about the Washington Post and its story about Obama’s Muslim background and the subsequent rumors. The Post flew a reporter to Findlay, Ohio (because it’s so hard to find people to interview in Washington, I’m sure), and did the basic yokel-tisk-tisk schtick that has doomed many a national daily to the back of the magazine rack in flyover country.
I argued the Post was being biased in favor of Obama. My reasoning, rumors have flown for Presidents for years. I have Democratic relatives who came home hearing from work that George W. Bush was ending food stamps, or throwing people out of HUD, you name it. Yet no Post article, same for Clinton, Bush I, Reagan and so on. My point, rumors are a part of Presidential politics, they are exploited by both sides, and I found it disturbing the Post picked the time of an important election to decide to become Snopes.
I was chided with this response: Obama is black, therefore the damage the rumors cause is different toward him. It’s the media’s duty to set things straight, especially given the history of race in this country. The other candidates weren’t black, therefore it’s different.
I was flabbergasted. This was an incredible out for the Obama campaign. I felt this line of thinking vastly protected one candidate over the other, gave one candidate preference and a benefit of doubt unconscionable, and worst even maligned Obama as some type of racial object instead of a candidate with ideas. Stating this, I was given the stare similarly worn by deer on a backroad when it encounters a semitruck during a dark night on the highway.
In other words, to L.A. Weekly, maligning Obama at all is racist in and of itself. It doesn’t matter what bounds, what facts, what words Obama may state or promises he breaks. He’s black, therefore untouchable.
So remember that next time Obama fires off the word “stupidly” in regard to white cops or Eric Holder begins lecturing on racial cowardice. The deck is already stacked.

So, when now President Obama doesn't deliver, the knives like the Obama Joker poster come out.
Such is the downside of being a celebrity president.
I don't like it. But then I don't like similar things (like the Bush-vampire picture), so I'm just being consistent.
But it's free speech isn't it? I don't think that government should be preventing LAWeekly from having that picture of Bush on the cover. Politics should be a little rough and tumble. The fantasy that it used to be POLITE is just that, a fantasy.
Making posters with that sort of biting multifaceted political subtext and then plastering them on walls is not a *conservative* thing to do. (Heck, most of us don't permanently affix political bumper-stickers!) I suspect anarchists.

Most of this Baby Boomer's life, satire (from when it first became chic in the Fifties) has been mainly assoicated with "liberals" and the Left. That was because, despite being lockstep members of the Cult of the State, they saw themselves as puckish free spirits. When some of the Baby Boomers grew up and realized that statism sucks, we finally got some satire from the pro-freedom side (P. J. O'Rouke, SOUTH PARK, Rush Limbaugh), and suddenly the big fans of satire lost their sense of humor. As the late Jean Shepherd used to say on his radio show (quote approximate, from a spotty memory), "Satire isn't only against people you disagree with. It can cut both ways."

Actually it is a very relevant metaphor. In the Batman movie the Joker was an insance lunatic who despised ssociety and was going to bring it down upon itself to show the hypocrisy of existence itself. He was going to remake everything you see. In his twisted mind he alone knew what was best and was better than everyione else just trying to live their lives. In a like way this is what the O has done. Take an economy going south and increase the deficit five times to 1.8 trillion. Enact every possible spending program possible. HAndcuff the economy with cap and trade based on a scientific farce. Forceably take over the banks and GM like a modern day Benito Musolini and then for the final ending cut of his knife ruin the health care system in this country.

I made the argument that they were expressing "soft racism" by subjecting Obama to different standards than the other candidates. I was told I was being a bigot without any fact or substance to back up their argument. When confronted by this, they simply tried to end the conversation.
