“What am I getting my head blown off for? For speaking out against an immoral, illegal and unjustified invasion and occupation? What they did was cowardly. To try and get yourself off the hook by saying we’re equal-opportunity offenders, it doesn’t mean shit to me.”
On tea party activists:
“Fucking redneck douchebaggery. Unmitigated douchebaggery. Why are they holding signs that say, ‘Whatchoo talking about, Willis?’ These people are called ‘racially sensitive’, what they should be called is racist, backward motherfuckers.”
Some thoughts on Fox News:
“They only book people who are easy to mock and marginalise. I kind of thought, ‘Someone’s got to do it.’ But talking to those assholes is a drag. It’s a drag meeting the same assholes from high school when you’re 40.”
Why she took the job on “24″:
“Initially when I was asked to do the show I had reservations about it because of the politics. And I thought further and realised, I don’t have a job. So I put my reservations on the back burner. And I did enjoy working there, it was one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve had.” There was nothing that made you go, ‘Whoa there’? “Besides all the torture? Sure, that made me go, ‘Whoa there.’ Luckily they allowed my character to voice her distaste for the violation of the constitution, but then they’d have Jack yell at her.” Garofalo isn’t bitter about it, but doesn’t think she’ll go back. “Objectively speaking, I don’t think my character served any purpose. I don’t think they needed Janis Gold.”

“I ran into ["Team America" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone] in the street, Trey and the other guy, and I said to them, ‘The least you could do is send me a puppet.’ And they said OK, took my address down … and never sent me a puppet! So while Team America bothered me, the fact they didn’t send me my puppet, that bothered me even more.”

Ever noticed how white Liberals seemed to be vastly more "sensitive" to racism than blacks are? It's almost like their political lives depended on it. Oh wait, it does.

I don't think Stone an Parker are "equal-opportunity offenders" for the sake of being equal, which is of course what a "progressive" like Garofolo would assume. They simply rip on anyone they believe is behaving stupidly, which most certainly includes Daily Kos talking point regurgitators like Garofolo.

Garofolo does realize that the Dear Leader has continued the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are they still "immoral and illegal" when the Democratic Party controls Congress and the White House? I assume "The Guardian" didn't ask her that.
I'm torn by this. On the one hand, giving her any space time just feeds the troll. And in her case, she takes the trolling a little too seriously. She even looks like a troll. But, I love reading what she says. It's good entertainment to read about people who are so bitter and off-the-rails. What she said up there is comedic gold and she doesn't even know why.

The only thing better than showing Garofalo as the clueless left wing semi-celebutard that she is is the counterpoint of 'Team America, World Police'- easily the best comedy of the last 10 years and certainly the best marionette (not puppet, you moron!) film ever; the craft in the film is unmistakable.
And that includes the music score as well. Conan O'Brien is all over how good the film was- check out his Entertainment! 10 Things About Conan article several weeks back.
Of course, being a former Simpsons producer he knows a thing or three about real comedy… and the dim bulb that is Jeanine Garofalo continues to embarrass…

Every time I see the above picture of Gar-awfulo, I keep praying that it is her strangling herself. But – alas – a week later, up she pops again and I know once more that her tiny little hands just didn't have the moral decency to do the right thing.

Garofalo reminds me of an experience I had hitch-hiking through Colorado in the late 80's and stumbling upon Neaderlands. There were dozens of aging Hippies who stayed on from a long ago disbanded commune circa '69-'70. Like Peruvian indigenous people they had 'co-opted' just enough capitalism to survive, but instead of weaving rugs or burkas in the Andes they were selling organic toothpast and wind chimes in the Rockies. One 'artist' had a contract to sell 'art' to second rate chain motels.
How'd he get the contract? A former commune mate had since rejoined the rat race and served as a reference to the Pakistani community dominating the biz!
People it's obvious: this woman has severe emotional problems and needs our sympathy. No person who is happy could present themselves the way she does. Her thought process is ALL over the place. I, personally, feel sorry for her.

If it's a drag meeting the same *^$holes from high school, how weird is it meeting a working actress of some renownd dressing, talking, and acting like she just stumbled out of a BE-IN at the Haight in '67? All kidding aside -Garofalo best represents the leftist ossification that has solidified over past forty years to turn Hollyweird into an upscale version of what I encountered in Rockies over twenty years ago. Bigger Cribs and Bigger toys – but the same smug insistance that raised consciousness trumps where the squares reside – all paid for by the insestuous monopoly that rigidly excludes anything remotely conservative.
Here's what we do people, we start a "Draft Janeane" for congress. Because Nancy, Harry, Dodd and Frank are just too conservative. It might make people think.

Gotta agree with you on the movie itself too. It's a fantastic movie on so many levels. The story, the marionette work, the retro feel and look and on and on. It also passes the one true test of a movie. It can be watched more than once. Can't say that about too many movies anymore……….

The fact that Garofalo despises Team America just makes me love that movie all the more. It is rather amusing to hear a so called artist criticize a movie she admits she's never seen.

I would think it an honor to get made fun of like that in a movie. Even notoriously thin-skinned liberal film critic Roger Ebert said one of his dreams was fulfilled when a send-up of him was killed in that wretched Godzilla film. Alec Baldwin said he loved Team America, and his childnen's friends always say his name exactly as Kim Jong Il did in the movie. If anyone had reason to be offended, it would have been Matt Damon, whose only response to everything was a rather learning-disabled repetition of his name. I think I'm going to watch Team America tonight.

The problem I have always had with these Hollywood types is, first, they are actors, therefore they have no training, education or experinece that gives them any insight on anything but acting. And yet we have to hear their opinions on almost everything. Second, while we have to heard their uninformed opinions, they don't have to listen to ours. It is like having a debate, one side gives their argument then the debate is declared finished before the other side gets a chance to speak.
. . . and I note that Midnite Rambler got away with the MF word in his post below. Come to think of it, I haven't been sent to the penalty box by the site administrator in quite awhile, so maybe BH has lifted some of the restrictions after all.

I've alway's considered Parker and Stone to be a "sort of" Don Rickles team of the animation world. The duo will rip you to shreds if you deserve it, as Rickles does. Most people will wear a Rickles smackdown as a badge of honor. The same goes for a Parker and Stone rip. There are a few though, such as Penn, who just don't get the joke, and because of this, they get hammered over and over for our amusement. Fine by me! My understanding is that, Mel Gibson, one of the teams regular targets really enjoys the show. I'm not sure if that's true though. Hell, even Clooney has been ripped hard and appears to still be a fan…
By the way, whenever I see a picture of Garafalo she always appears to have bruises on her arms. I'm not sure what that means, but I think generally it's regarded as a warning sign…

And that is why the 'South Park' duo have been ostracized by the Hollywood community and have been largely shunned… ever see 'Team America' on pay cable?

How about a fund to buy her a one-way ticket to Canada, where she can enjoy all the wonderful free therapy she could ever use? every week as we watched the last season of 24, we hoped jack would take down garafalo's character. take her down hard. at the very least a faint inducing head-lock. other than that, we got a weekly laugh as she sold herself and her convictions out by appearing, nay working for the buck, on the show. hypocrite much?!
It would have been nice if they'd blown her up instead of a puppet, but you can't always get what you want.
