Never saw that one. The only Sherlock Holmes comedy I truly love is "Without a clue" starring Ben Kingsley and Michael Caine. I can watch that again and again.

I think that's an obviously true statement. I think Obama allowed his point of view to be revealed. God forbid. Does he have a chip on his shoulder?

The only question I really ask myself on that topic is this: If I were a black man in America, would I have a chip on my shoulder? Is it so easy for me, with my white male middle class advantages, to stand here and say: Oh that black guy is racist! What did I do to him? Nothing!

You guys may feel differently, but the one thing I will not agree with you on… is that this is a simple thing.

A lot of conservatives claim that being conservative means you are also religious. So tell me then: Doesn't the Bible tell us not be judgmental? So, yeah, maybe blacks do have a chip on their shoulder. I ask you Biblically minded times: who are we to accuse and criticize?

the reporter ASKED him to embellish on the subject, and Obama did, only basically saying: look when stuff like this happens, we it tweaks our ingrained fears…etc, etc. e.g. it may not be a racial incident, but due to histories and tendencies, it brings up stuff for us. So yeah, Obama did talk about race with respect to this issue. I STILL don't think that Obama meant to say that the officer was doing something racial… He did say "stupidly" which is its own big bag of problems for Obama, but he did not suggest (effectively or intentionally) that the officer was racist.

Yeah, he could have (and should have) stayed above it. He probably just was trying to help smooth things out for a bad day that happened to his friend.

An engineer, huh? My grandkids used to be really into Thomas the Tank Engine, but they outgrew it.

I recently retired from a career in aviation meteorology. I currently work at a V.A. Hospital in customer service.
