The phrase "It's Time For Action" sounds like Obama's minions on ramming through health care reform . . .except, over the weekend his lackey's are saying they are willing to wait inorder to get a bill. Does that mean they are exaggerating yet another crisis?

part 1
Last week I posed as “Bombthrower” on several threads. I was inspired by John T. Simpsons post “My Life as a Conservative Republican.” (Before I get too far into this I need to apologize to Burt Prelutsky and Gary Graham for hijacking their threads. But, I knew they could handle it based on the hateful comments they get on a regular basis.)
I was one of a minority who thought Mr. Simpsons over the top comments were a good way to disarm the lunacy of those who would try to paint all conservatives with the same brush. I took the stereotypes that we all hear and used comments similar to them to see what would happen. (I like to take the stance of ‘if the shoe don’t fit, don’t try to wear it’ Why defend against something that isn’t true?)
Some people got upset. Some people laughed. My intention was to show how stupid it would be for someone to actually try and point the stereotype finger at us. The accuser (me) came across as an idiot. It got to the point that I couldn’t even pretend anymore and just started having fun.
part 2
I have learned a few things:
1.Bombthrowing is fun. Sorry but it really was.
2.Only a true believer could continue with certain lines of reasoning
3.For a site dedicated to Hollywood and pop-culture (industries that would die without free speech), we have a lot of people here who don’t seem to appreciate free speech. (I heard a saying once: “You can’t offend me, because I choose not to be offended.” Take that as you use fit.)
a.As such my personal computer is blocked from posting comments, even if I am logged in as my normal user name. I have no Idea if it is permanent. (If anyone at BH or intense debate could un-block me I would be grateful. I have learned my lesson and won’t do it again.)
4.I learned that some people will never change their minds about anything. I feel for those who post here and thoughtfully express their counter opinion. You may not get me to come around, but you have my respect. It is difficult to do even without people jumping down your throat.
5.Some of the people who post here are very skilled thinkers and writers. I thought I did a fair job of it, I realize that I have to step up my ability to explain my positions.
part 3
I appreciate you letting me use the site as a laboratory. I acknowledge it was self indulgent. I wonder how many of our so called “trolls” are serious about not liking us, or are just have some fun at our expense. I’d bet many are just trying to see what will happen.

Open Thread/Speaking of action, my favorite new video, which I discovered yesterday. 'Sarah Palin, Fighter'.

No problem from me. I didn't report any of them, because I enjoy doing my best to counter arguments. I enjoyed it.
Remember on 60 minutes where it had a section called Point / Counterpoint. It useally had a liberal taking one line and a conservative taking the counterpoint. I think it was called Point/Counterpoint. I do miss that.
thanks i will remove my new post however because my old posts finally came through above.
Just who are the elites of the Republican party?
I figure it is the elected and formerly elected. The average voter certainly isn't
You could be right. I just feel that there is a small group of people in the Republican party who like what Obama is doing to the country.
Those that have abandoned fiscal conservatism and conservative principles to the point we have the dems currently in control of all three branches- House, Senate, Presidency.
Colin Powell, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, to name a very few.
Those that have nothing good to say for conservative repubs, Sarah Palin being the most notable example.
Those that refuse to acknowledge the conservative base that supports the repubs when the repubs support them.
Those that insist John McCain was a viable presidential candidate.
Those very same ones that insisted Robert Dole be the republican candidate in '96.
In short, those repubs that think being democrat-lite will gain them votes.
yeah, the liberal wing
some have called them the 'Country Club Republicans'
i'm I big believer in the big tent, but certain pillars must be adhered to. it seems like some might not even have that in common the base.
Well, the question I have right now, is why are the not so elites listening to them? Since their way causes great losses in Congress and the Presidency?
I think, fear and intimidation.
Look at the smear campaign Palin and her family have been and are being subjected to.
I think, fear and intimidation.
Look at the smear campaign Palin and her family have been and are being subjected to from both dems AND repubs.
I agree. Who in their right mind would want to subject their loved ones to such disgusting attacks?
Michael Jackson died? Why didn't anyone cover this?!! This is HUGE!!!
It's just a cover up. He's been cryogenically frozen alongside Bruce Lee and Walt Disney….
Assuming there ever was a Michael Jackson.
A few days ago, I e-mailed to my Congressman about Cap and Trade. He got back to me yesterday via e-mail. I am now conflicted. Yes, he is against it, but he sent it as a form letter which made me angry. He didn't address the two main points I made which is Cap and Trade is founded on two false assumptions.
Assumption one. CO2 is a pollutant.
Assumption two. Global Warming is happening.
Maybe I should just leave well enough alone. He did vote no against it.
Peter Dellaplane: You have this nickname – what is it, excitement, enthusiasm, esprit de corps-
Action Jackson: [cutting off Dellaplane] -It's ACTION!
Excellent point…… If you look closely at the footage from his "hair fire" incident, you'll notice sparks shooting out of his head……
Android??? You be the judge…..
The Big Question here is: "How well did Vanity hold up over the years?"
When I was a little kid she was so great looking in "The Last Dragon" and "Action Jackson" but now? I doubt she's pushing fifty–she's probably got fifty by the throat and slappin' the heck out of it.
Hmmmmm…
I think she's a minister now, so the hotness is probably on ice now….
I don't remember the specifics–a few yrs back the dems were nattering at some repub with some absurd accusations, and when confronted with the fact there was nothing to the accusations, the dem spokesman response was "…..but it's the seriousness of the charge."
Had nothing to do with the fact the charges were entirely baseless. What mattered to them was that someone made the charge, the "have you stopped beating your wife?" ploy.
It was about Clarence Thomas, I believe.
Action Jackson…… a take off of "SHAFT"…..it does sound like a rally cry for the OBAMA NATION!!!!
This is the whole "perception IS reality" that destroys lives. A person doesn't have to be guilty in order to be judged by people. Just look at Michael Jackson. He was never convicted of child molestation, yet that's how many people will remember him.
It's also how the Dept. of Human Services tears apart families. I had a friend that adored his little daughter. He got a divorce from his wife because quite frankly, she was batsh!t. To screw over her ex, she filed a complaint that he was abusing their daughter. Nothing could be further from the truth, but his life is now ruined because of that baseless accusation and the government agency that's out of control. All it takes is someone the make a charge…..
OPEN THREAD FUN…

Discuss…. Politics of the moment
If there is a crisis, you can bet Obama and his crew are exaggerating it.
If there isn't a crisis, Obama and his crew will create one, and THEN they will exaggerate it.
They are nothing if not consistent.
Check out RECOVERY.GOV on Drudge for how the stimulus money is being spent………
"Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves." ~~D.H. Lawrence, Classical American Literature, 1922
A nation with a foundation in debt will never be able to create wealth.
Craig T Nelson was a villian in this flick. His martial arts were actually fairly credible. I wondered if he studied Martial Arts.
I watched "Sign of the Cross" with Charles Laughton and Fredrick March this weekend. The chilling effect it had on me will take quite a while to wear off.
Is that the one with the sensuous girl-on-girl dance, and women v. pygmies in the arena? That movie is so over the top it's unintentionally hilarious to me. Who knew the 30's were so saucy?? No wonder the juicy stuff was cut out of it for decades.
"Such delicious debauchery…"
Don't forget the naked, flower-draped girls with the ape and the alligators. God, if I hadn't actually seen this for myself I never would have believed it.
Now "Sign of the Cross" is definitely a film that warrants its own thread.
And my fave–man dangling from apparently rare subspecies of carnivorous elephant! Not dissing you, ddaichiro, but the movie's archaic acting styles (lots of stretched eyes and hands waving about) plus the cracked-out arena sequence just takes it to a unique level of over-the-top.

She's written a book and has a website promoting it.

Still born-again. Still good looking. Apparently on daily dialysis due to kidney damage from her years of drug abuse.
Action Jackson is a film John Nolte should write an article about here on Big Hollywood. That film, and Collision Course with Jay Leno.
no prob – I totally agree. The blatant brutality made me numb. Forgive me, but it comforts me to think that Nero and all the evil Romans are burning in Hell's eternal punishment as we speak.
