DOGMA is a great movie……. Her part in Men In Black is great as well…. I have never seen this movie "Last Seduction" it is now on the list…
To continue that theme – One of Obama's czars wants to gag internet comment boards

As for The Last Seduction, they just don't make characters like Wendy Kroy anymore. Since it briefly aired on cable before it went to theaters, it couldn't be nominated for any Oscars – it wasn't the best script of the year, it was one of the best scripts of the last quarter century. What's odd is its writer's only done two other film, the latest being Domino, which I enjoyed, but was nowhere near the caliber of TLS.
One of those neat little thrillers from John Dahl – did "You Kill Me" a year or two back, some moments of dark hilarity and wonderful performances by Ben Kingsley and Bill Pullman – put it on your list. Not to be confused with his early thriller, "Kill Me Again", may have been Dahl's first. As I recall, there was some dispute over "The Last Seduction" – it couldn't qualify for Oscars because it was originally released on cable (HBO, maybe?) before the theatrical release.
More about Palin.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/11/palin-...
Seems to me that the attack dogs should be called off.
Linda Fiorentino is majorly sexy in this movie. Nice, tight little thriller. Rent it.
Do you have anything on the new "Stuart Smalley" in the Senate to retort an idiot I know who is posting today's anti-Sarah Smear on her blog!? I'm fuming but would rather just submit an Al Franken "moment"!!
Yeah, her attorney addressed those on her Facebook page on Friday. They'll never call off the attack dogs.
The counter terror plan was never fully operational and thus is not an issue as they are only legally supposed to be open about major actions. Something not fully operational wouldn't be a major action which is why Hayden and the operatives involved had no trouble not saying anything. Besides, find me one major counter-terror intiative that they did put into operation and brief the Congress on that wasn't then immeditately leaked to the press. Catch-22 …
Eric Holder's news is most likely designed to be a distraction aimed at taking steam away from Sotomayor's hearings next week. Plus, it'll give every little leftist pleasant dreams to distract them from the economic mess the administration is making of the country along with the news that Cap and Trade and health care are having some real issues in Congress.
American Catholics better represented by BO are the sort of people who go to mass on Sunday to feel better about themselves but don't live what gets preached to them. There are a lot of those kinds of Christians running around, and they aren't just Catholic.
And as for the Palin smear, apparently Joe Biden opened his mouth again in the Phillies locker room and predictably said something dumb. I didn't catch what his gaff was this time, but you might dig it up with a little looking and use that.
If you liked Fiorentino in those movies, you'll love her in this. It's her best performance.
You kill me was a terrific film. I thought I was the only one who knew about it. Glad to see others have seen it. Kingsley is just a gem, one of the greatest actors of the past 30 years.
I wouldn't advocate harassing a liberal if their ethics laws were so easily abused, but if someone went after a liberal exactly the way leftwing dolts go after the Governor, it's be top headline news for weeks till the laws were changed. The MSM is just content to draw attention to the allegations, never,
ever,
that they were fraudulent abuses of a states ethics laws to smear and attack a popular conservative. Any lefty that thinks this is ok, or just normal politics, is a hypocritical a**. No way, they'd ever sanction such an abuse against someone on their side. As I get older it's becoming harder and harder to not see the hard left (excluding uninformed rank and file democrats), as anything but utter scum. No lie to vile, no smear to outrageous, no gutter to filthy to crawl in for them.
When will the decent democrats begin to reclaim their party from the lunatic fringe they've allowed to take over?
The Last Seduction was part of a mini-wave of great crime/noir flicks, including other gems like 'One False Move' and 'A Simple Plan', all worth a rental.
The democrats I think, are actually far fewer in number, the dedicated leftists that is, than simply democrats who vote out of habit and haven't paid attention in decades.
true example, an uncle, served in WW II, praised FDR and complained that he wasn't getting treated right by social security, that he should get more since it was "his" money that he'd paid in. When I pointed out, he got all that back years ago, and was gfetting money today that I was paying in,.. you could see the gears jam in his head,.. "REPUBLICAN LIES! … it's MY money,.. they saved it back for me!.." Apparently, basic civics and math skills weren't a high priority when whoshipping at the alter of FDR.
The ignorance of deliberately blind democrats is what holds us back. They've been so indoctrinated, they never openly consider anything not spoon fed to them from a politician with a d next to his name.
test
called off? the left is sending more her way!!!!
A great flick. And Linda Fiorentino is swell!
Thanks.. it is on the list!

I want to think that will never happen, which is a shame. The progressives in there party now are the ones with the endless pockets and have the power of Soros, or Peter Lewis (Progressive insurance) be it the money or the voice!
I am just waiting for Palin to actually step down. The next day should be interesting for the rest of MSM and the rabid dogs in Alaska.
Palin stumping for Conservative Democrats?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jul/12/p...
I can see that if she goes to Nancy Pelosi's home district to stump for her Democrat opponent, otherwise not.
With the OBVIOUS trend toward failure that this horrible Administration is taking just a few months into it's Titanic like voyage, the next tactic is to go back to campaign mode. The Main Streamers are saddled up, the supply wagon of smears and lies is loaded, it's time to move out to DISTRACT the easily distracted American voter. Democrat Congresspigs are NERVOUS, the are in the front line of fire, with the Hussein Admin. "in the rear, with the gear", Dem Congresspigs will fall like rotten timber in Nov. 2010, Hussein will still be "in power". There will be as many sham "investigations" as humanly possible to try to disract, hence save the agenda. The mantra…"it's Bush's fault…It's Bush's fault…it's Bush's fault"…"BUT UNEMPLOYMENT is WAY WORSE NOW HUSSEIN!" "Don't worry child, it's Bush's fault." "But he hasn't been in Washington FOR MONTHS NOW, HUSSEIN!" "It doesn't matter, It's Bush's fault…."

My favorite Fiorentino film would have to be her first, 'Vision Quest' (1985). Great little movie with a wonderful cast, including the late, J.C.Quinn, who is so good in his scenes. Highly recommend it.
Not to mention giving Keith Olbermann a subject for his public access show all this week.
Who am I kidding? Public access shows are better produced and get better ratings than countdown.
Why? I don't need the raise in my blood pressure that happens every time I'm reminded that this dolt is one heartbeat away from being president.
There are no more "decent democrats". It's a myth! Like Unicorns, Pegasus, sugar free cola that tastes like sugared drinks and supermodels dating normal guys like me.
Either they've all left for the republican party or are indipendents.
There are going to hell with themselves or salivating like wild dogs over it!
Oh great, another liberal who thinks democracy would be better if it was not so democratic.
On the end of the last page, they had to point out two Republican self-described friends turned critics. The second one, the Alaskan Republican Party chairman, is complaining because she worked for bipartisanship?
And people wonder why "Republican" is such a bad word in places that if she wants to promote conservatism she may very well end up backing conservative Democrats and independents.
Oh I do not know about that, I guess there are some very decent people who are brainwashed Hare Krishnas, far as that goes. The mental conditioning often mellows people out nicely.
An amazing dark haired beauty in blond Hollywood when she was in Vision Quest, Fiorentino has her best role here, convincing and perfect in her portrayal.
Obama's SS Nazi Cyberguards will have to pry the keyboard from my cold dead hand, and a firearm allowed by the second amendment from the other…
You beat me to the comment, I second you're recomendation.
I e-mailed her PAC yesterday warning her people that she can squander the goodwill of American conservatives by trusting so called "conservative" Democrats. As I said, if they were really conservatives and cared about support from a emerging conservative spokesperson, they'd be Republicans. This move could backfire ugly and the partisan anti-Palin press will be poised to jump in a maul her. Let so-called conservative Democrats VOTE the VOTE! Let's see 'em walk the walk before any Republican helps any Democrat. The voted en mass for Obama's porkulus bill, where are they on "cap and trade"? Obamacare? Why help them?
Linda Fiorentino is a "Philly Girl" who can be very effective in a certain type of role. This was an excellent movie with lots of twists and turns and an unusual ending. Like a lot of movies, it sometimes got a little off track and slow, but otherwise well worthwhile. l do think this was superior to Red Rock West, but that was interesting as well. Unforgettable, from that same era is a third film I would recommend.
Cafeteria Catholics, we call 'em.
I liked her in Dogma (and Men in Black)-this looks like a good rental-it got good reviews.
I must respectfully disagree, there are many democrats who are decent caring, patriotic people, my wife is a democrat. Granted, a conservative one, who voted for McCain, as she hates Obama for the sleasy way he treated Hillary. She's voted GOP far more than democrat for years,. and I expect she clings to the word democrat,.. when she's really more a conservative independent.
Many of my family are democrats, most all of hers are, and I see them as mostly intellectually lazy, not paying attention till the harm is done. If our worst fears are true, if Obama does indeed plan a Chavez style take over, (I pray he's not), they'll be on our side, they're Americans first. But many are being shocked out of their apathy to politics, unemployment will do that.
I always thought Fiorentino would've made an excellent Aeon Flux, had her career aligned with production. Sleek, sexy, intelligent, and deadly. Alas, all we got with the live-action version was "deadly".
This is my favorite Fiorentino flick. Another nice little gem is WHERE THE MONEY IS, with Paul Newman.
I wish there were a few more movies where the bad guy gets away. It's so much fun!
They've been lazy too long, believing whatever lie a democrat spreads about us. My mother in law, a stubborn dem, started ranting about Mrs. Palin being stupid,.. I jolted her by simply taking her to the PC and showing her, how what she believed Palin had said,.. were Tina Fey's quotes. I then showed her the strong, bright woman candidate she and many of her kin were hoping for, was already there,
silence…
Then, she finally admitted she didn't know anything about Palin but the sound bites she'd caught on the fly on TV.
That is a victory,.
She is finally starting to look around, seeing she's been played, and she aint happy.
there is hope for many of them yet.
I was once a democrat. I discovered my conservatism right after I made the mistake of pulling the lever for William Jefferson Clinton in 1992. In many respects, I'm still a democrat. It's just my party has moved so far to the left (in Kentucky and nationwide) I wasn't welcome anymore.
Now, as a somewhat compartivly moderate republican, I no longer feel welcome in the GOP. I feel the same thing is happening, the party is going to far left. Either the dems rise up and take the party back from Pelosi, Reid and Obama, or something bad will happen. A second Obama term.
Just reinforces the fact that the Kennedy's are the single most disgusting family in America today. NEWSWEEKling is working over time this week carrying their preferred parties water, what a disgrace.Newsweeks agenda piece on Holder is the new low in journalism, and thats hard to do.
Somewhere in Hell there is a special place for the Kennedy's for all the abortions they have helped sanction,Teddy is the Devil in a beer bloated body.
I can't see this as anything other than them trying to distract everyone from Pelosi's lies about the CIA and from the Big O's falling poll numbers.
Me too. I really liked her in Men in Black, but she reminds me of the women on ER (can't remember her name).

Why Barack Obama represents American Catholics better than the pope does.

Newsweek, what a great news source
I have six movies for my rental queue! Yay "open Thread"!
Sadly, we call them the Sacristans at my parish. Sad, sad, sad little Obamatons.
No argument, though I'm of the "own it" mindset.
Step 1) Visit online Shakespearean insult generator.
Step 2) Write one of the vilest phrases from the insult generator in big bold letters on poster board and attach a paint stirrer.
Step 3) Carry sign while following Sunstein around alllllll day.
Not exactly "really bad guy" but pretty fun stuff–"Pay Back" (Mel Gibson,1999). I'm sure you know it…
OMG I jsut found out that no good rotten SOB Dick Cheney had a secret plan to kill the leaders of AL Queda.
I'm so ashamed of being an American.
Leon Penata another political hack in charge of the CIA what a surprise.
I've tried to ignore that stuff at every parish I've ever been to. C.S. Lewis warns against becoming a "connoisseur of churches" and suggests that we 'offer up' our annoyances, but God help me I can't help but be distracted by this crap — and I can't be the only one who feels that way.
I can't keep quiet anymore, not with the lunacy that keeps getting louder and crazier almost every day in the Obama camp. Just dropping little hints of opposition and concern at my Eucharistic Minister meetings, ti'bits as WDVE's Bobby Subgum would say. Like in the country at large, learning there're enough people for whom the shine is wearing off of President Obama and just need to nudge them back to reality so they realize they — shock!!! — may not have made the best choice last November.
I loved "One False Move" – Billy Bob Thornton wrote that (or co wrote) not long before he did Slingblade. The director, Carl Franklin, directed "Devil in a Blue Dress", from the Walter Mosley series – Don Cheadle did a wonderful turn as Mouse. Fine job of translating the book, but I can't read that series now without seeing Cheadle as Mouse.
Between this, "Point Break" and "The Outfit", Richard Stark has a pretty strong showing in the movie business.
Was "Point Break" with Rhys-Jones (Henry the 8th from HBO? I loved a movie mystery that he was in that I thought went by that name!!!

I agree with what your saying about decent democrates…. the bad thing is they are OVERSHADOWED by all of the not so DECENT democrates….. they sit back and hardly ever open there mouth up, they allow the BAD SIDE of the family to air all of there dirty laundry and give them carte blanche to deal with the bickering….
No, this is an older movie. Point Break, or whatever the f__k it's called… it's been so many years since I've even seen that movie on a shelf, I can't even remember the correct title. All I can remember it's based on the same book as Payback and stars — oh God, now I can't remember his name. Right on the tip of my tongue.
Okay, well, while you remember it–
Its Jonathon Rhys Meyers in "Match Point '" (2005 )(is kinda the genre we are talking about- he's a baddy) I thought it was a great flick.
Looked it up, it was called Point Blank and the guy who starred in it was Lee Marvin. Same story as Payback.
Jeezis, twenty-seven is too young for senility.
Got it. Tx.
I live by Imbd (that movie/actor site)and have been known to run to the computer *during* a movie and check out an actor when having "where have I seen him/her before?"!!!
This movie seduces me every time.
