This was a mediocre, blunt movie. "The Hurt Locker" is the small indie movie expanding in the coming weeks to watch for.

Um…just to point out that 7 movie theaters in FL does not constitute the "entire state." In fact, right on the "border" of North Central Florida and Central Florida, and the closest movie house showing the film is 2 hours away. If one were to draw a line east to west to cut FL in half, all of the movie houses listed above would fall in South Florida. I respectfully suggest that perhaps this article should be amended to read "including all of South Florida." I'm really surprised it's not showing in Gainesville, FL, the home of the University of Florida. One would think that particular audience (passionate, idealistic college students) to be a primary target.

As for the film, I would dearly love to see it, but there is no way I can drive 2 hours one way to do so.

It depends on what part of South Dakota you live in. If it's the eastern part, you take a drive to the Twin Cities (Edina 4). If it's the western part, you'll have to make a weekend of it in Denver (Chez Artiste-2800 S. Colorado Blvd).

I'm thinking summer was a bad time to release something with such a grim topic; they should probably have waited for fall. You can't take kids, and I can't think of a worse date night movie. But based on Nolte's reviews here the problem "Soraya" faces is similar to "Bruno:" too graphic and the audience will be turned off from the worthy themes you're trying to get across, whether you're going for drama or comedy. I freely admit I probably won't see it–I consider myself informed on the issue and it just looks too hard to watch. You don't need to get a tooth pulled out to know that getting a tooth pulled out sucks. Maybe the film makers did their job too well.

Yes, you need to see it, it is a "must see". And, no, I could barely watch the clips on "hannity". And also no, The people who 'need' to see this will never see this. They think their view of the world is right, anything like "the stoning of .." makes it problematic.

What you need to do is take a liberal to the movie, see "Stoning" and ask him/her if that's worth supporting. It will have to be like that, one at a time.

Sooner or later, it will add up.

The movie's website, linked above, will tell you where it's showing. Nearest place for me is about 5 hours away. (If you're talking San Diego, maybe. If South Dakota, probably not!)
