Charlie West went to bed one night an ordinary high school student. He woke up a hunted man. Terrorists are trying to kill him. The police want to arrest him for the stabbing death of his best friend. He doesn't know whose side he's one or who he...

People talked about how the movie mocks Pres. Obama, but did anyone notice General McCain???
Testing. Please ignore.
Maybe an open thread would be a better idea on a day when the comments were actually working.
Oh! You have just set out the troll bait.
OK, I liked the movie. I know folks complained about the plot the the fact still remains that cars zipping by at 100mph then turning into giant robots that beat the crap out of each other is awesome.
Rather enjoyed the movie. Some geographical stuff was a little off, especially in Egypt, but not bad. Good action and a hot female lead. Hot vehicles, explosions, good special effects. Brings the grunts out of a man. Plus John Turturro was hilarious.
The commercials just say "TRANSFORMERS!!" with "revenge of the fallen" not spoken and in too small a print for too short a time to read or even notice. Offhand I was not considering that a good sign.
Are they afraid that "revenge of the fallen" sounds too much like "the empire strikes back?"
or it sounds like what the conservatives are going to do in 2010 & 2012
Thank GOD for returning to regularly scheduled programming. Any MJ is starting to get to be too much MJ.
Except we will be the ones taking on The Empire, and we never fell, just stumbled a bit.
Still concerned about the sexual references (heck in the last Transformers film, my kids asked me what masturbation meant.)
The only reason I would go to watch it is because of my kids. Can anyone comment on the severity of it?
Hey there,
I saw the movie and thought it was fun (though a little long… maybe by 15-20 minutes). For those who may be concerned about taking children, I can confirm that there are some sexually suggestive scenes and some profanity… but nothing worse than what you can see on network t.v…
Not planning on seeing unless I can figure out a way to do it and screw Marvel at the same time. I don't give Marvel my money anymore.
Transformers movie. Why?
I love the soundtrack!
Cheap Trick knocks it out of the park!
Since when were "Transformers" property of Marvel? Your money will be going towards Hasbro, the correct owners, not Marvel.
I loved the movie to bits and have got several more trips to the cinema lined up for it in the coming weeks. It improves on every single aspect of the first one (pervasive crudity notwithstanding — which I didn't mind, actually).
Most importantly, I don't believe we will get another Hollywoood movie this year that exalts the U.S. military to the degree seen here. They did not play second fiddle to the Transformers in the climactic battle – they fought side by side and were instrumental to the ensuing victory. Such a humanistic worldview in what is, after all, a giant alien robot movie delights me to no end.
If you ever have questions about any movie coming out, Focus on the Family has a movie review site that gives very comprehensive reviews. Every review lists all positive and negative content, so you can decide if it is worth seeing. They have one up for the latest Transformers movie.

What happened to Megan Fox? Her lips were all puffy and swollen and I don't think she looked as naturally pretty as in the first film.
I completely agree. great movie. Will see it again as soon as I have time. My son has seen it twice already because – "Fox is hot".
Question: in the first, we felt that Bay was onto a really great story, and then we felt he completely dropped it to have "big robot smash" climax. We were completely engaged and then felt dropped and left ultimately disappointed even though the effects themselves were great. Is this one like that? Better or worse?

I did a cartoon about a deleted scene of Transformers 2.
We also use http://www.movieguide.org/
We use both Focus on the Family, Movie Guide, and here to see what people say about the movies. Our yutes are now much older, but when the kids were younger, if we could not make up our minds as to whether or not they should see a movie, we just waited until we could watch it via cable, or satellite downloads. And then, if we liked it we would buy the dvd.
I think it is a good idea for adults to continue using movie reviews like Focus on the Family, and Movie Guide even when the kiddies are grown, and out of the house. Sometimes, there are some movies that are garbage, and age makes no difference when it comes to watching it.
I liked the first one, but this movie was a giant piece of scrapyard mess. I wouldn't take a 13 year old to see this movie. The language is outrageous, the plot is severely broken, its way too long & the "acting" is the funniest part of the film. We actually watch movies before we let our kids see them, but they will not be seeing this one.
The review had a nice breakdown of the questionable elements, but for some incomprehensible reason they felt it was necessary to reveal the end (for no apparent reason). Anyone who decides to view the review should be warned. Seriously stupid idea (unless they were so offended they hoped by spoiling it that some people might not want to go).
Three words…..Giant, Robots, Fighting!
Its not Casablanca, but it is a good summer flick. The Obama thing is there, but you have to take the film as a whole. It is not that they come out and say Obama is a wimp, but the NSA Galloway spends all this time yelling that 'that this comes directly from the President'. Of course, this includes asking the the Autobots to leave while they meet with the Decipticons without preconditions to negotiate and to shut down NEST when they are needed most. That could very easily be taken as a slam on Obama's foreign policy. And while I fully expect the lefties to get all up in arms about Mudflaps and Skids being racist, they are no worse than any over the top sterotype from a movie like Fridays or similar movie.
I actually went to see it and must say that that I thought it was bloated, loud, over the top, and a lot of fun. Just what you would expect from a summer movie. The DoD support is very obvious and CELEBRATED (about time Hollywood). The slap at Obama is overly obvious and also welcome. Again about time. All said I enjoyed it. Not a bad way to burn a couple of hours.
A positive look at the military doesn't save the movie from being a mess. A hot mess, what with the nifty (though pointless) robot fighting scenes. I would mention the Fox chick, but she isn't worth it. She just isn't that hot, even though we are being told that she is by the entire pop culture media non-freaking-stop.
Are we supposed to clap and whoop any time Hollywood doesn't make the troops out to be jerks and takes an easy shot at a democratic president? Not for me, thanks.
The only parts of the movie that rise above the rest of the trash are the "gremlins" Decepticons. Seriously, they are the only characters in the entire movie that have any sort of personality and they hardly get enough screen time.
You seem to be missing something here about how Hollywood regularly trashes guys like me. Am I going to cheer when Hollywood treats my boys with the respect that society owes them? Damn right I am! And it has less to do the party and everything to do with the fact that the Occupant in Chief is a pantywaist and DESERVES the very mild slap he got. Finally, IT'S A SUMMER MOVIE! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A MESS AND A DIVERSION!
I saw with a couple of friends last Saturday.
While I could say that the story is completely non-sensical and it feels like a cartoon(minus the almost R-rated American Pie-esque gags foating around) it was pure silly fun.
Shia LeBouf comes across as sympathetic, this is the type of movie for Shia since sadly, he physically still looks like a teenager. While the whole movie still was all about him, the Transformers had a much bigger role to play.
About Megan Fox? Meh, she's nothing more than a pretty face for audience, more of a distraction.
Most of the CG robots in this movie(including those Autobot twins) have more personality than this gal.
With over 200 million dollars spent on this flick in just five days by moviegoers and millions overseas which by all accounts "Fallen" is stupid and despite all its loudness and fury rather boring….well what can one say….other than evidently…hype…does work and because of this film success many others just like it will be made and of which the same people who liked this film will hate those for a lack of story, action or whatever other definition comes to mind. Hell, Michael Bay and company loves you all as he takes all your money to the bank and he proves once again that explosions and loudness still works and can cover up a bad script or a lack of one and or movie.
So did anyone even attempt to see "The Stoning of Soraya M.?" Apparently "The Hurt Locker" did ok for its limited release. Here in Los Angeles I see "Soraya" ended up in the smaller art houses with difficult parking, while "Hurt Locker's" at the Arclight & Landmark, swankier theaters where you can reserve your seat, plentiful parking, etc.
Such a lame movie!
The first Transformers was great but this one looked like it was made in a week and a half. Some of the special effects were okay but the "bots" weren't as impressive.
The plot was non-existant and ridiculous and the comic relief was cheesy at best.
The two main characters (LaBouf and Fox) were miserable. There were times I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Seriously.
A hot summer day + a cool theatre + popcorn + Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen = FUN!!
Pro military all the way. I loved the fact that the main villain is an Obama robot with the last name Galloway. As in our favorite appeasing Islamist in Britain.
It was pretty much big robot smash all the way, which is great if that's your cup of tea, like it was mine.
Effin' A, oldsoldier1! Thank you, sir, for your service!
Well, my husband and teenaged son enjoyed Transformers a lot, even though they both admitted it had glaring weaknesses. I'm sure they didn't mind looking at Megan Fox.
Likewise my daughter and I enjoyed The Proposal, while admitting that the basic plot and many of the scenes were downright silly. And we certainly didn't mind looking at Ryan Reynolds.
At matinee prices, I guess we all got our money's worth for a bit of fun—–and there was no leftist claptrap in either of those movies to spoil the mood.
Saw this movie tonight with my family. LOVED it. And the Military comes off heroic as it should and the Good Guys remain the good guys and they kick BUTT. Nice little dig about 'negotiating' is going to get everybody killed and a Tim Guitner government type gets a great military 'send off'. This one was funnier than the first Tramsformers and just as good as , if not better. Hasbro does a great job .
I thought Transformers 2 was fantastic! Sure, I understand all the critics critiques (though the so called racist robots were hardly that), but what were they expecting, friggin Shakespeare? It's a blockbuster action movie with lots of exploding stuff, and I absolutely got my money's worth. The story is about as inconsequential as the first movie, the humor is actually better (I did laugh a couple of times, whereas the humor in the part one fell flat), the action was HUGE and was easier to follow, and the climax was intense and the FX were amazing. All told, this was actually a bit of an improvement over the first Transformers.
And Megan Fox is soooooooooooooooooooo hot!
I'm gonna see it again sometime this week.
Maybe Big Hollywood can set up a poll to see how many of its readers liked Transformers 2.
I'm down with that!
yes, got to see it over the weekend and loved it for what it was.
Giant Robots Fighting and Michael Bay Explosions. Bay's work may not get credit for depth, but the man knows his medium. KABOOOM!
I also have to add the film's very positive view of the military is a big plus for me as well.
And this site also has DVD reviews in case you forgot what the review was at the time. Very detailed content so you can decide for yourself.

You all do realize that there probably wasn't an intentional slap at Obama in this movie right? The movie was almost completely in the can before the elections and the very mention of his name in the movie was something that was done in post. If McCain won the plot would have been exactly the same and his name would have been on the news. I'm just saying you might be looking for subtext (if there is such a thing in this movie) thats not actually there. Kind of like how Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) saw Bush subtext in every movie for eight years straight.
I am a child of the 80's. Transformers were awesome then. And they're awesome now. Two thumbs up! Oh….Megan Fox in cutoffs……nice!
Saw it today and it was a good action flick. Not as good as the first since it didn't flow as smoothly, but still a good way to spend sometime on a summer day. The best thing about the movie was the treatment of our military. I can't help, but have a little extra enjoyment with a movie with some Marine amtracs in it.
[...] Revenge of the Fallen Last week, my older children and their cousins and uncles went to a late showing of Transformers II. Even though I liked the first movie, I stayed behind because (i) they wouldn’t get back until almost midnight, which is almost two hours past my bedtime, and (ii) the reviews were so bad. Don’t make the same mistake. Most everyone in the group liked it, and Big Hollywood is receiving a lot of positive comments. [...]
Absolutely the worst movie ever made. My God, everythihng got humped, literally. Not to mention the giant iron balls dangling from Destroyer. Way too long, too much cursing, too much sexual innuendo and blatant sexuality. I really did want to leave the movie but endured to see just how bad it was. I'm also appaled that people brought their children, some were only five years old, and stayed! And if you disagree with me then you are worse than Ahmadinejad.
I forgot to mention "The Twins" who were blatantly racist. Seriously, in the first one the "black" robot dies. I let that slide. But in the second one every "black" robot is an illiterate moron speaking in ghetto. I generally detest anything being called racist but this was blatant. Though I don't think it was intentionaly. Just a cheesy stereotype that didn't make sense.
Ah, DH and LW, both true modern classics in action.
