DirecTV HD remote control has an interactive feature where you can see top 5 shows, refreshing each minute, in your own time zone, nationally and sports and movies. Tonight midway through ABC/Obama show, #1 in Central time zone was different Disney-owned network, ESPN's late-running coverage of LSU vs. Texas College World Series. ABC was 4th place, Fox News Channel 5th. CBS #2, NBC #3. Nationally it was ESPN College World Series, followed by #2 Fox News Channel Greta Van Susteren. That is only among DirecTV HD audience. So for a limited audience segment (DirecTV HD subscribers with sets on) results in Central time zone are that College World Series and LSU winning it vs. Texas beat out other choices available, including President of the US. Unscientific, of course.

I wonder how many Democrats realize they will be ok only as long as this does not pass into law. Once they actually own the whole boondoggle, the party is over. I suspect Obama knows this, given his threadbare legislative record. Why break a successful pattern now?

Well Democrats up for reelection have been promised support from Obama/ACORN, as long as they do what he says. Moderates will face ACORN-backed challengers. With billions in our tax dollars now in ACORN's mitts, they will easily out spend any moderate candidate.

Probably. But do the Dems realize what happens then? ACORN or the supine media cannot hide the cost of bad policies. Same with the cap-and-trade idiocy. The end result is that people who didn´t vote for Barry in 2008 will not vote for him in 2012, and a couple of percentage points changing in the other direction make a whole lot of difference. Unfortunately, It is extremely unlikely that the GOP can recapture Congress in 2010. If we get 20 seats we will have done ok.

What part of Obama's reign isn't socialistic? The guy is a textbook example of a leader who wants government to control all aspects of the people's lives. Fox News (and Rush) are on the money with their claims about Obama that the former mainstream media won't touch.

The poll results are already coming in and on every major issue that this Congress and the administration have tackled and moved major legislation or policy on Republicans are no polling as favorable in the public eye by a wide margin. That includes issues where Democrats have held traditional leads like the economy. If the Democrats do pass healthcare, they'll be hanging a huge albatross around their own necks and I suspect many on the Hill know it which is why you hear runbles of widesread dissension in the Democrats own ranks. Additionally, when you look at the numbers of insured v. uninsured it's roughly 250mill to 50mill in this country. That's hardly a crisis. And the of the 50mill the majority are young, dumb 20-somethings who would rather play than pay. Again, hardly a crisis, and hardly something most responsible adults want to have their own standard of care torpedoed for.

the ABC propaganda lovefest infomercial is already backfiring; the early 'buzz', as it were, was not good- the GOP actually did something right for a change and had ABC Prez Dan Weston on the defensive even before the braodcast.
And, once again the simple fact of trying to control the flow of information is a flawed model in the age of new media…

Obama's dithering on whether his grandmother should get a hip replacement while diagnosed with cancer was particularly revealing- and the lowest point so far for his Presidency. Humanism is being exposed for all to see- unborn innocents first, now our elderly- are less important than a 35 year old at their peak value to society.

It is this 'fact' that is now getting the light of day. We all need to pay attention…

Here's my problem with the whole "grandma hip replacement thing." It was just a distraction from the real issue. I seriously doubt that the doctors caring for his grandmother were pushing the family one way or the other about the hip replacement. They probably explained the situation and then let the family (and her) decide whether or not it was in her best interest to undergo surgery. (After all, a hip replacement isn't a walk in the park–some might decide they don't want to mess with it if they're going to die in less than a year anyways). BUT REMEMBER THIS! OBAMACARE WILL TAKE AWAY THE CHOICE! ! ! !

an 86 year old man we know just had hip surgery after a fall; like many he fell again and broke the other hip. He has been in rehab and is returning home soon. Sharp of mind, this WWII vet is still ok, and could have ten more years.
