My, the difference
Let's here it for the Gipper!
Sorry to be off topic, but I wanted to bring to people's attention that CSPAN2's BookTV is reprehensibly devoting 3 hours tomorrow, Sunday, June 7, at 12:00 PM est to BILL AYERS. The show is live and usually in these In Depth shows they have viewers call in to ask questions. This is a disgusting act by CSPAN and Ayers needs to hear from as many of us as possible who can call in, while the channel also needs a good slap to the face.

From the moment he approached the podium til the last, it was clear he was thinking about the terrible sacrifices made on that day. I, too, was moved to tears.
For all that they gave us, paid for with their very lives, I am grateful. The best we can do to repay them, is to render them immortal.
All we have to do is remember.
Sorry 'O'…..THIS is how to make a D-Day speech. You will never measure up no matter how effective your teleprompter.
[...] President Reagan: 40th Anniversary of D-Day — June 6th, 1984 by Big Hollywood [...]
The right wing is like a pit bull on a baby with this utter Nonsence over Reagan. Over half the woes we are fighting today are a direct result of this mans incompatence,…or alzheimers. He was even a worse Governer of California. He probably thought he was in Malibu when he did this. No matter how ernest one tries to shape the past for a personel agenda, Bulls@$t is still Bullsh@$t.
No other president can match President Reagan's speech. Thank you, veterans. Thanks, Dad.
What is "bullsast?" I've never heard that one before.
Don't feed the trolls.
I sure miss him…Anyone hear the interview Mark Larson had yesterday? (subbing for Hugh Hewitt) had with RR's long time Secret Service bodyguard? The man had character.
John Barletta – you can hear the interview at hour 1 –
Well, when I submit it truncates half the URL – goto http://www.hughhewitt.com; podcasts and it is hour 1 yesterday
BTW a memory I will always have – seeing RR's last campaign stop in the 1980 election – was living in San Diego at the time – he stopped at the Mission Valley Center parking lot – 2 hours late – but nobody cared – on election eve.
An American Giant compared to the Political Gargoyles and Fops we have today. God Bless President Reagan and the Veterans of the Greatest Generation a job Well Done.Indeed.
Man, I really miss that guy!
Give me a serious answer on this one. How old are you????
The best speech of D-Day..ever. You can never have a dry eye while listening to this man speak on the importance of this day.
He is sorely missed.
There truly is a striking difference between the speech Ronald Reagan gave compared to Barry Soetoro. Ronald Reagan may have had notes in front of him but he spoke from the heart and it is self evident. Barry's speech was delivered via a speech writer and a teleprompter so he wouldn't lose his place and he spoke with condescending and arrogant tone in his voice like he was scolding one of his handlers. Barry is anything but an American and I despise everything that passes across his purple lips.
Sorely missed is right!
He fixed this country after Jimmy "Smiles" Carter nearly destroyed it….Now, Jimmy Carter "Part Deux" is trying to destroy it again and we have no Ronnie to fix it!
That Berkeley education's sure treating you well. This is some of the best piece of left-wing satire I have seen since since Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal! Using symbols to make your case, employing the wrong homonym when necessary (personel instead of personal, genius!), and some spelling errors too! Absolutely brilliant!
Wait, this isn't satire? Damn. You almost had me fooled, Incompetent Liberal Contrarian.
This speech epitomizes a great president and a great man. Always mindful of the sacrifices others have made so that he can stand in this place and give a heartfelt speach. This is how a President is supposed to act.
I think you scared him away?
More than likely he is trying to think up some witty response, this while his mommy helps him with his spelling and grammer errors………………….
Thanks.
What a difference a little perspective makes. One never doubted the man's love for this country and ALL its people. He was the right man at the right time in the right place. We were fortunate to have him leading the country.
I have tears welled up in my eyes as I write this. The sacrifices those men made are incomprehensible. And the way President Reagan described them was so moving. One could tell that Reagan spoke from the heart. Sadly, there are no more statesmen like Reagan that are part of the political landscape. Reagan was real and genuine, unlike the dictator that's currently running the country. Reagan is one of a handful of world statesmen that the 20th century produced. (The others being Churchill, Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II.)
Amen to that!
I second your thank you's to the veterans and your father for their brave service. Reagan's speech is in the pantheon of all time greatest speeches.
It is apparently related to "bullshast".
I am not familiar with it either.
Perhaps it is what they use for food in this troll's village?
I MISS RONALD REAGAN! I WANT RONALD REAGAN BACK!
Double Thanks. I know now not to turn that channel on. Might accidently shoot the television……………
Blank,
You're a moron – period.
Blank,
You're a moron – period.
Not yet Brother but please keep the faith. We need you.
What a gentleman a truly great American President how I miss him. Truth, honor, pride, love of country, Mr. Reagan exuded with his every word. After the shame that was Jimmy Carter, wow, what a difference.
I share your disgust at the airtime C-Span is giving Ayers. It's one thing to present a variety of viewpoints, and from what I've seen, I think C-Span does a pretty good job of simply putting ideas out there and letting viewers come to their own conclusions about what they're hearing. But there has to be a "cut-off" point as far as what views you legitimize by giving them 3 hours of airtime, and C-Span is showing poor judgement in this case.
President Reagan, yes. Obama, NO. Obama is horrific.
He was a class act and always spoke of the achievements or sacrifices of others. Even though this speech was tearful, it was uplifting in that we honored those who paid the ultimate price so we can enjoy our freedoms.
How sad that at present we have a classless dictator who makes every instance of time a story about himself.
And you, sir, are full of bullsast.
Where are you President Reagan when we need you ?? You inspired all of us to be the best we could be, You made me so proud to be a American. Now we have a President who flies all over the world telling everyone who will listen how horrible and rotten this nation is and bowing down to Kings and apologizing for everything that has ever happened. I am sick of Obama making this great nation look like North Korea. He never says anything good about America, He only sees the negative. To Obama the glass is half empty, Not have full. We need someone to inspire us again, To tell us it is " Morning in America again ". I miss you very much President Reagan, You are a hero and a inspiration to me. By the way readers, I am a 48 Y/O black AMERICAN veteran of the US Navy.
You are a moron !! And that is being kind !! It never ceases to amaze me just how nasty and bitter people on the political left can be. You people call yourselves liberals, But you are nothing more that the bully on the playground . You even stoop to the low of making fun of how this man died, You have no shame in your soul if you even have one. I would not wish that terrible horrible disease on anyone. That illness killed my grandmother so your crude insensitive comment really upset me, But you on the left have no heart or compassion in you at all. You disgust me and make me sick. I am so upset right now I probably am rambling, But I have had it with the snotty comments from nasty souless punks like this r finley bastard.
How can we praise the eloquence of presentation and the heartfelt sincerity of a Pres Reagen speech? After all, he is not Ivy League educated, not even a lawyer, like our current occupier of the Oval Office and the America-haters he has surrounded himself for advice and guidance. God Bless Pres Reagen and those that served and saved this great country!
The word is incompetence, a characteristic that is probably best applied to you!.

Now, THERE was a man for the ages. Oh, God, please give us another Reagan!
The closest thing the left has is FDR and he imprisoned thousands of Japanese civilians. I guess I can see how you'd be jealous of someone who also landslided both his elections to President. Where I don't think any of yours have. Someone who essentially ended Communism in the USSR. Someone who gave us one of the longest economic upturns in history. Yeah, I can see why you're acting like a little liberal child. Keep whining, because your current office holder couldn't hold Reagan's jockstrap. By the way, it's spelled incompetence and Obama is the picture of it. 'Nother lefty moron.
These people are outright haters and vile. I live up near Seattle and I keep repeating, but when I see a Kucinich or other lefty bumpersticker on a car, I get up next to them and they look like such miserable people. This idiot is not different. They're supposed to be the ideology of compassion. Fat chance. They are the most closed-minded and intolerant people on the planet. I guess this is just a sample of what's found on HuffPo, DailyKos and DemUnderground. Do these people wake up hating everyone who doesn't agree with them? Must suck to be miserable all the time.
I'm with you. I was in the Army when he was President and we knew we had someone who cared about us, at the top.
I spent my childhood around cattle and I don't remember seeing any bullsast.
He's probably a 60 year old hippie. Which makes it a little more disturbing that he hasn't grown up yet.
You should learn to spell governor.
Amen!
Ooh Man! I hate ageing hippies. They always smell like petulie oil and ben-gay………………..
Ronald Reagan was a man among men. He made us proud to be Americans because he exuded pride in this country. Unlike what we have today, he was a man of integrity who meant everything he said. Obama only says what will get him the most brownie points for that particular moment in time. Reagan makes Obama look like the loser he is, and it is most disheartening that we have lost so much of our moral fiber as a people that he was ever elected to the office that was once occupied by great men.
Never forget , fellow Americans, that WE are the power behind our Presidents past, present, and future. Obama has had his chance to demonstrate his own well-practiced eloquence, but his subsequent dependence upon teleprompters and his anything-but-subtle "handlers" has already shown the weaknesses of his relative insincerity and ingrained disrespect for his "average" countrymen. Let's all start the movement to regain our God-given rights and VOTE THE BUMS (all incumbents) OUT.
This was the only time I had ever wished that there were no term limits on a President. Thank you President Reagan. Thank you Soldiers and Sailors.
Hey dude, take more pills with your vodka and go to dance on the edge of your roof !
There is no comparison to the Gipper and that creature occupying the Oval Office.
Obama is a good speech giver, but Reagan was a great one. Plus with Reagan you knew he meant what he said and he said what he meant. Obama is a con who says what he thinks he is supposed to say and then goes and does the opposite.
