Asa New York City conservative I think the reason this Times guy doesn't come right out and say the publication is left-wing is because "urban modern" is liberalism infused into every aspect of their lives. They simply have no self-awareness as to how their world-view colors everything from the way they dress to what they eat to where they vacation because it is so reflexive and mindless.
