The military has read anyone taken into custody (yes, even people you hate) their rights long before "Miranda." It is something called "warning rights" practice under Article 31, UCMJ. It is so people do not self incriminate themselves and is basically what Miranda rights are based on. The reason Obama had to tell the CIA to start Mirandizing is because Bush's BS "enemy combatant" loosely translated to anyone we are at war with, the standard warning rights became unnecessary to sick and twisted minds. The Miranda rights they are being read are no different than the decades old warning rights. But, in a world where if you believe it it magically becomes true, why bother with pesty things like research?
