Joseph Lindsey

After more than 15 successful years as an actor and screenwriter in New York City and Hollywood, Mr. Lindsey is currently shopping his debut novel, Clinton Feast: Life to the Right of Hollywood, which fictionalizes his brush with stardom and his subsequent ousting from Hollywood for being a member of the GOP. Set to the back drop of the Bush/Kerry elections amidst the Iraq war, as seen through the lens of Tinseltown, Clinton Feast is a modern day retelling of Kafka’s Metamorphosis. It’s a scathing satire on Hollywood hypocrisy that takes a huge wipe of celebrity royalty, flushes them down the toilet, and doesn’t replace the paper roll when done.

Mr. Lindsey graduated from Pioneer High School with a C- average and was voted most inspirational on the football team. He went to college for two months but left after discovering they wanted him to pay for classes. He then moved to New York City to pursue a career as a grown man wearing makeup and telling lies for a living, also known as an actor. He currently lives with his wife in Boulder Colorado where the open-minded are not called actors, writers, and directors…they’re called massage therapist, personal trainers, and college professors.

Let’s Free Other Child Rapists While We’re At It…

Harvey Weinstein

Members of the Hollywood community have signed a petition to have Roman Polanski released from jail. When is the Hollywood community also going to demand the release of 58 year old rapist Bruno Vece?

On January 31st 2009 the past finally came back to haunt Bruno Vece who has been jailed for 20 years for sexual crimes he committed decades ago. Bruno Vece, of Loram Way, Alphington, had been found guilty of raping an underage girl in the late 1970s.

What Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, David Lynch and other Hollywood elites need to know about Bruno Vece is that he has built a new life since he committed these crimes over 20 years ago; he’s a new man with a new family and now it has been destroyed. (more…)

Dave Matthews’ Politics of Racial Paranoia

by Joseph Lindsey

“Honky,” “cracker,” “whitey,” “spot,” “the white guy” and “my white nigga” are a few of the words and phrases used to describe me by fellow co-workers (along with a few white jokes told to my face on the set of a film) I co-starred in called “Caught Up” in 1998. I was in fact the only principal white actor on a set dominated by black actors, a black director, a black writer and a predominantly black crew. Not once did I think I was being treated in a racist manor. I just felt it was okay for blacks to describe me this way having been led to believe that I owed them this bit of racial jabbing because I, as a white individual, had something to do with the racism they’d experienced throughout their lives.

draft_lens2047237module10173495photo_1214415478DaveMatthews

If the tables had been turned and a predominantly white cast and crew used such racially charged language to describe a black cast member, the Screen Actors Guild would have invaded that production and we would have seen headlines in the media “Racist Cast and Crew, Film Shut Down By SAG.”

In that film one of my scripted lines required that I use the word “nigger.” Before I shot the scene I pulled my fellow actor aside and assured him that this was not a word I took lightly and that I was aware of its historical implications towards blacks. He looked me over as if I were an alien and said “Give me a break, I don’t give shit, I’ve been a nigger all my life. I’m cool with it.” That response came to me as a mixed signal. Not one that said it was okay for me to use the word “nigger,” but one that said my efforts at trying to understand his side of race didn’t matter. (more…)

Honoring September 11th: We Need Not Be Told

by Joseph Lindsey

9-11

Before we can be of service to those who still breathe, we must remember those whose breath was taken from them on this day, and who took it. The current administration has changed this day into a national day of service, another move to further remove us from the reality of life as it is and towards the Utopian life that lives inside their head. And to help nudge society and our popular culture into that imaginary world, the administration has a covert operative in Hollywood.

Hollywood has beneath it a core of self-hatred, mostly because those who run it are engulfed in a glowing guilt rivaled by no religion or ideology. A guilt which silently tells them that their white skin is not worthy of the riches they have. And most are not. (more…)

Michael Jackson: NAMBLA Gets a Messiah

by Joseph Lindsey

Michael Jackson was an inspiration to many groups of people all over the world. One group in particular saw him as the perfect messenger for their crusade, the North American Man/Boy Love Association – NAMBLA. NAMBLA is set for Michael Jackson’s return with the hope that he’ll set the record straight about loving young boys. They’re ready for a global love fest and it’s BYOJJ (Bring your own Jesus Juice.)

NAMBLA is an organization with a goal to eliminate age-of-consent laws. Arguing those younger than 18 have the mental ability to make decisions, they claim it is unfair to the youth to prevent them from doing so. They oppose forcing sexual relations on anyone, regardless of age. They do not advocate breaking the law, but work to change the law.

On June 15th 2005 the men of NAMBLA rejoiced when the pop singer Michael Jackson was found not guilty of all charges of sexual molestation of boys and of providing minors with alcohol. The group considered Michael Jackson’s acquittal to be a vindication for their Association. “Michael’s innocence is something that is held very dear to us,” said a representative at the time. “We can all relate to wanting to love a child. Many of us have small children that we love and many of us take small children to bed with us every night. Loving a child is not a crime and Michael has proven that to everyone.” Some NAMBLA members felt this was breaking new ground for them and hoped to see laws amended such as mandatory curfews for minors and the legal age of consent lowered to nine years of age. Reality TV: The End of Shame

by Joseph Lindsey

When the end of the world comes, the four horsemen of the Apocalypse won’t greet us; The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ll tear us to shreds.

Television long ago brought something to the world that should never have been mixed: entertainment and reality. Because the moment you stick a camera in the face of reality, the reality gets lost. What you end up with is the ability for a camera to be on while a human being sheds all traces of its shame. That place where one openly cowers in a passive emotion while being in a public place.
I love a good car crash, not the sort that involves a motor vehicle and some poor slob texting-in his fantasy baseball picks. I’m talking about the car crash that is “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”  Like a rubbernecking commuter getting one last look at those pretty flashing lights, I can’t take my eyes off that show. Its complete lack of shame coupled by the site of human beings unconsciously relishing in their own self-destruction is thrilling to me.

Shame is the lost gesture in today’s ugly world of reality TV and we need it back. It’s what separates us from the animals. (more…)

Obama Porn

by Joseph Lindsey

In 1964 Justice Potter Stewart in the case of Jacobellis v. Ohio, which involved the showing of a French film titled “The Lovers,” is quoted as saying, “Hard-core pornography is hard to define, but I know it when I see it.”

It’s the same for me today when it comes to Obama pornography, it’s hard to define, but I know it when I see it. For the first time in history we’ve got a product placement President and his machine is pushing Obama porn.

Yesterday while strolling through the aisles of my local Barnes & Noble I was assaulted by fourteen magazines with Obama spread across their covers, all in differing poses, two included his wife in close embrace. In the history section forced upon my eyes in plain sight were 23 hardcover books with this political porn star upon it. Michelle Obama even had two books of her own, one a biography, and the other, I believe, was about her fashion sense. I didn’t open the book, I’m not that sort of guy, but I think it had something to do with “going sleeveless.” (more…)

‘Rescue Me’: Another Vapid Actor Breaks the Spell

by Joseph Lindsey

Too much information about an actor’s life breaks the ability for the viewer to believe the character the actor is playing. Daniel Sunjata is one of those actors I wish I knew less about. He’s one of the stars of the hit show “Rescue Me,” and after reading of his beliefs that 9/11 was an inside job, I find it difficult to see his character Franco, as real. Good thing for him the producers decided to write his conspiracy theories into the show so now his acting won’t be a stretch. In fact it won’t be an act at all; it’ll be his truth, which leaves me seeing just another vapid Hollywood actor looking to push the envelope of their stupidity instead of minding to their craft.

Two of the greatest actors of our time, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Daniel Day Lewis are the sort of actors that truly let me enjoy their work because I know next to nothing about who they are as people. And I don’t want to know about them, I just want to experience the joy of their craft.

Daniel Sunjata has been quoted as saying “There’s alternative theories about what really happened on 9/11,” he told TV critics in January. “They’re not discussed a lot in the press … I’m really gratified that they allowed that to be focused through my character, because I happen to subscribe to a lot of those theories and beliefs that 9/11 was an inside job.” Daniel, they’re not discussed, because they have no foundation in reality. Final Four: Why Team Bush Beats Team Obama

by Joseph Lindsey

“Win one for the Gipper”

As the NCAA final four is again upon us I thought it would be fun to take the last four years of President Bush’s team, and square them off against President Obama’s team in a presidential team pick, and policy play.

Team Bush

Coach: The spirit of Ronald Reagan.
As a coach Reagan brings this team together with a play that’s tough, conservative and full of compassion for those who are being oppressed on both sides of the stands. He instructs his team to trudge forward no matter what the score, and to not concern themselves with attempting to get cheers from both sides of the stands or those in other leagues who don’t like the way they play. Bonus: Tear down this wall. (more…)

Hollywood Political Mental Disorder

by Joseph Lindsey

Mental disorders don’t come to Hollywood they’re cultured there. It all takes place inside the social interaction of petri dishes disguised as auditions, lunches, movie sets, movie premieres and fund raisers.

After ample time is spent cultivating inside these infected petri dishes, subjects unknowingly begin to show signs of “Hollywood Political Mental Disorder,” or HPMD. The frustrating thing about HPMD is that the cure is so close the subjects can’t see it. (more…)

Isn’t It Bromantic…

by Joseph Lindsey

When you watch “Gran Torino” and Clint Eastwood gives that look with one eyebrow raised as he sticks a gun in someone’s face, you know some shit’s about to go down and that this is a man who can handle himself. When you look at Mickey Rourke in “The Wrestler,” you know his face is mush because he’s taken some punches in life.

Brody Jenner

I long for the days when being a man had to do with things like, my word is good, insult my wife and you get a busted nose, and my silence says more than any nonsense I could ever scream at you. But this is not the image of the masculine male Tinseltown now propagates.

The other day while surfing channels like a Troglodyte on speed waiting for the meat on the grill to ooze a little blood, I came across a show I’m convinced will be the downfall of the American male. (more…)

Al Sharpton and the Economics of False Outrage

by Joseph Lindsey

The far-left are experts at placing people into boxes like a Microsoft spread sheet based on their sexual preference, skin color, religion or world views. And because of that, they are unable to see us as “All One.” The moment we do become “All One,” the game is over and their voting block is gone. These are people who, the moment you disagree with them on anything that has to do with one of their chosen imprisoned spreadsheet groups, call you a racist. People with this confined view wake up every morning looking for something in their day to offend them. Well, if you start your day out with that premise; guess what, you’ll find something offensive in your day.

Al Sharpton has made a rich living for decades waking up every morning and asking himself, “What’s offensive today that I can make a buck on?” Today what he found was a NY Post cartoon lampooning that crazy killer monkey from Stamford, Conn. A cartoon that was clearly comparing the act of creating an out of control stimulus package by a bunch of crazed politicians too busy playing with their poo to read the bill, to that of an escaped chimp terrorizing the citizens of its community and biting the hands that fed it.  (more…)

Time for Hollywood to Shine on L.A.

by Joseph Lindsey

Turning World’s Eyes and Ears to Congo.” That was the title on the ABC website a couple of days ago regarding Ben Affleck’s trip to the region and his efforts to bring awareness to the war torn land. That’s nice of him to do and I think it’s great when celebrities reach out and help those in need. Movie stars have the ability to bring global eyes to causes in need of attention. It’s one of the good things stars can do no matter their politics.

But here’s my question, why Africa and the Congo when so many kids and family’s need to have attention brought to their struggles right here in our own country? Just 20 miles south of Hollywood, where many stars live, is the war torn land of South Central, Los Angles where statistics on drug abuse, gang violence, crime, homelessness, AIDS and single motherhood are staggering. Six Degrees of Paris Hilton

by Joseph Lindsey

Part pit bull, part Columbo whacked out on a pot of espresso, they don’t make investigative journalists like Mark Ebner anymore. And that’s good news if you’re a dirt bag, scum bag, douche bag or any sort of Hollywood low-level, window peeping, carpet crawling, masturbation celebrity want-to-be.

Mr. Ebner is one of the few writers left today willing to get down in the gutter with his subjects just to hear their truth. In his new book Six Degrees of Paris Hilton, Mr. Ebner takes you to the places they never show you on “Access Hollywood,” because if the general public could access the side of Hollywood Mr. Ebner uncovers, that tub of popcorn in your lap at the multiplex would serve only one purpose, that of a barf bucket.

I recently had the chance to ask Mr. Ebner about his new book and what his thoughts on the state of Hollywood are today. (more…)

And The Victim Goes To:

by Joseph Lindsey

Year after year, Hollywood continues to make films that objectify the image of women in the name of art. This sends a dangerous message to young girls in this country and around the world at a time when they need healthy role models outside their mothers. Kids need healthy role models from Hollywood because it’s fun for kids to fantasize about the limitless possibilities of living in a free society.

If I told you the tales I know of, of what some actresses have gone through to get a job in Hollywood, your head would spin. You’d think The National Organization for Woman would be up in arms over the misogyny that is the underbelly of Tinseltown. But they aren’t, because feminism in Hollywood is now only liberalism. Hollywood and the media proved that in this last election with the treatment of Sarah Palin.  When liberal Hollywood gives an award to an actress they don’t tell you what she went through to get that part, they only show you what she played to get that award. Let’s Vote These People Out Of The Cinema

by Joseph Lindsey

The vast majority of the open-minded and spiritually-advanced celebrities who roam Hollywood are people who feel enlightened enough to bash and bad mouth only those who don’t think like they do. The entertainment industry and their surrogates feel comfortable enough to make negative public commentary about Christians, Israel, Mormons, Republicans, the brave men and woman of our military, female Governors and anyone who doesn’t feel the world should be like a brothel in Prague.

Tom Hanks came out last week and called people who used their democratic vote, “Un-American,” and in this down economy he’s come up with a way to help you save money with a form of free speech that’s not only silent, but deadly to most entertainers.

Call To Cotton Arms: Come Out Of The GOP Closet

by Joseph Lindsey

This Cuban is sick and tired of Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara. (That’s right, let’s use everyone’s full name from now on.) I hear there’s a new movie out about this A-hole, and it’s four hours long. Tell you what, wouldn’t give it four minutes of my time. When is Hollywood going to get over its self-hatred identity and its glorification of murderers and start making films about the American Heroes of our past, and about the ones currently in the desert today?

My father is spinning in his grave.

After having been raised in a Cuban military orphanage, my father fled Cuba for the USA because he had bigger dreams. Once here, the first thing he did was report to immigration the way they used to on Ellis Island and asked what he needed to do to become a US citizen. He then quickly mastered the English language, got a job, passed the US citizen test, married my mother and flourished in this country by starting his own business – something Castro and Che would have never let him do. My father never said he was a Cuban, or a Cuban American. He was simply an American. He was old school.

Hybrid Predictions For 2009

by Joseph Lindsey

I had silently moved through Hollywood as an actor and screenwriter for more than fifteen years before I left. Most of that time was spent amongst people I liked and some I even loved, and still do. However, none of them did I agree with when it came to the topic of politics and how the majority thinking in Hollywood affected the work I did, was asked to do, and the movies that so many in this country are forced to sit through.

I spent my days with the shades draw on sunny L.A. mornings reading The Weekly Standard , and nights watching Fox News with the sound turned down. But that’s not why I left. I left because I found that when I wasn’t able to be around and talk openly with like-minded people my creativity felt stifled, dishonest. I found myself just bobbing my head in silent agreement like a performing monkey when all I really wanted to do was have an open minded, calm, conversation about the world, especially after 9/11.

I’m not here to be cruel; I don’t hate people on the left, I don’t wish them to have heart attacks, die in office or drop dead on their actors’ mark. I just feel my ideas and my work are more interesting when challenged in an open minded, spiritually enlightened, compassionate way. I use those Hollywood buzz words because if you want Hollywood to hear you; you have to speak their language. You can’t invade a foreign land and then ask them to speak English, well, not right away anyway. With Big Hollywood I now have a “safe place” like I did as a kid, thumb in mouth, blanket over my head and a GI Joe doll in hand.

The thing I find most disturbing these days is the dangerous mixture of pop culture and politics aimed in only one direction. Because of that, the line between the Hollywood mouthpieces and Washington D.C. public servants continues to blur into one scary hybrid, making it hard to tell who’s “Dancing with the Stars” and who’s handing out the bailouts. So, armed with that knowledge, I bring to you my list of predictions for this Chimera in 2009. They’re sure to bring a thrill up your leg, or a chill down your spine:
