Evan Sayet

Evan Sayet

Evan calls himself a 9/13 Republican. 9/11 wasn't a big surprise to him. Obviously, he didn't know the date or the specific targets – and the carnage literally sickened him – but he never had any doubt that the same people who were killing the Jews of Israel for no other reason than that they were the closest infidels, would, when they could, come to massacre the biggest infidels.

What surprised Evan – and changed him forever – was what he calls metaphorically 9/12: the days, weeks, months, and now years after 9/11 and the liberals' response to the attacks. The idea that America deserved the attacks (or, in the words of Barack Obama's mentor, the attacks were "the chickens coming home to roost") and that the way to prevent further attacks was to be nicer to the terrorists, not only made remaining a Democrat impossible, it began Evan on what is now a seven-plus year quest to try and understand the mindset of the Modern Liberal and why, as he would quickly discover, the Modern Liberal invariably and inevitably sides with evil over good, wrong over right, and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success.

Evan had started his career as a stand-up comedian (“Letterman,” “An Evening at the Improv”) and segued into television writing in the 1990s (“Arsenio Hall Show,” “Politically Incorrect,” “Win Ben Stein's Money”). After 9/11 Evan decided that he needed to be part of the national/global conversation and put together a stand-up act for the first time in fifteen years – this time from a decidedly conservative point-of-view. David Horowitz calls him "simply the best political comedian working in America today."

At the same time Evan began writing and lecturing in a more serious manner about how the Modern Liberals "think.” The thesis he delivered to the Heritage Foundation has become a phenomenon on the internet and has been called "the unified field theory of Modern Liberalism" as it answers every question about Modern Liberal policy and dogma.

Evan's talk to the Heritage Foundation as well as other information about him is available at his website, evansayet.com.

The ‘Me Generation’: A Generation of Thieves

by Evan Sayet

My generation – the “Me Generation” – and those like us have stolen every last penny from our parent’s savings accounts (Social Security).   We’ve used that money to make ourselves appear successful and to vote ourselves more and more things we claimed to be “entitled” to.

When that money ran out, those of us who followed the mantra we were taught in the Leftist run public schools, “If it feels good, do it,” simply stole our children’s money, mortgaging their future for our personal comforts.  We’ve borrowed so much against their account that the numbers now are written in trillions – with each child born burdened with tens of thousands of dollars in debt – money we spent on ourselves — the moment they enter the world.

Now, with no more to steal from our parents or our children, many of us are demanding that we receive deeply discounted health-care services.  It’s something, we argue that we’re entitled to (for no other reason than that we’ve graced the world with our presence. )

The problem is that, forcing insurance companies to write bad policies – to take in in premiums far less than what they’ll have to dole out for the aging Boomers’ growing medical conditions – is untenable.  In fact, it is exactly the same formula these same Leftists used to force banks to make bad loans because they felt that everyone of their generation was “entitled” to own a house.

But the Boomers have a plan! (more…)

Honoring September 11th: Saved

by Evan Sayet

I must admit to some snobbery.  My kind didn’t become cops.  My kind didn’t become fireman. We went to college as simply a rite of passage and became the “Masters of the Universe” holding meetings with others like us on the top floors of buildings like those in the World Trade Center complex.  In fact, I, at the age of twenty-three, had an office on the 106th floor of building number one with an unquestioned entitlement to it for no other reason than that was the way of the world.

The kids from the Bronx with the accents became fireman.  The kid from Queens with the gaudy chains and the girlfriend with the big hair became cops.  People who worked with their hands, people who risked their lives, I am now terribly embarrassed and ashamed to say, were thought of as just of another kind, the kind that my Leftist friends continue to deride as being from “fly-over country,” or from Kansas where the people have something “the matter” with them. America, Join the Obama Coup or Get Out of the Way

by Evan Sayet

Dear America,

I hate you.

I hate you because you’re stupid, you’re bigoted and you’re dangerous.

I know that you’re stupid because you believe in an invisible man in the sky.  Not only does that make you stupid, it makes you dangerous.  After all, if you’re that easily led to believe in some invisible man in the sky then you might be led into believing in witches and you might burn people at the stake.  I don’t care if you “cling” to your religion because you’re not as rich as I am, the fact that you cling to that stupidity makes you a threat to the utopia that would come if only there were no religion.

I know that you’re bigoted because you love America.  I’m a citizen of the world, not xenophobic or nativist like you.  I don’t believe in false borders falsely imposed on me by corporations and evil, white men seeking to exploit the world.  Remember what my Messiah’s mentor said, it’s “white man’s greed that rules a world in need.”  Why do you think America is better than any other nation?  It’s only your bigotry and bigotry is evil.  You’re evil.  And you’re standing in the way of my utopia, the peace and prosperity that would come if only there were no countries. My Day At the Doctor

by Evan Sayet

I went to the doctor the other day and received some terrible news.  It came as quite a shock because, while I had not been feeling great — I was running a slight fever and I had the sniffles — I felt pretty good for a guy my age.  So to hear my doctor tell me that I needed immediate and radical surgery I was sent for a bit of a loop.

I asked him what the surgery entailed and he told me he didn’t know as he’d never read about it.  I sarcastically asked if he intended to read about it before he cut me open and performed this radical surgery on me and he told me he wouldn’t bother because it would be too complicated for him to understand, anyway.  I asked him what was wrong with me and he told me I had the sniffles and a slight temperature.   I asked him what massive radical surgery would do to help cure my cold and he said, “well, doing nothing isn’t going to cure it.” (more…)

Stupidity, Schooling, and the Take-Over of America’s Culture

by Evan Sayet

Half-a-century ago, a band of Leftist thugs violently took over the administration building at Columbia University and hijacked the American education system.  From that moment on, they used this system to indoctrinate – in fact brainwash – generation after generation into their cult of Leftism.

For the next five decades (pseudo)-intellectuals, hiding behind tenure and “Academic Freedom,” have been spewing greater and greater nonsense designed for one purpose and one purpose only: sabotaging and eventually destroying all of Western Civilization.

Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers

Don’t think so?  Simply consider the fact that one of the most oft-repeated chants of the Modern Liberal movement is “Hey, hey, ho, ho. Western Civilization has got to go.”

With control of the “education” system, the Leftists turned what had been a place of scholarship into a Leftism factory with a curriculum and modus operandi designed to facilitate their Utopian dreams which first required the demolition of the great (but imperfect) Western World. (more…)

Troopathon 2009: Heirs to the Real and Great America

by Evan Sayet

When my son was in high school he was a member of the Air Force ROTC.  As the young men and women drilled around the campus, leftist teachers would slam the doors on them in hate and anger, thus putting the lie to the oft-stated canard, “We support the troops but not the war in Iraq.”

When we hear about “the culture war” this is the war that we’re in at home, it’s between those who believe in things bigger than themselves and those who fear things bigger than themselves.  Why do they fear patriotic children?  Because patriotism is, to the Modern Liberal, an act of bigotry.  As you watch America’s new Commander-in-Chief running around the world belittle America, apologizing for “wrongs” that weren’t even committed by us (such as “colonialism” which was the Europeans) and literally bowing down before the “Keeper of the Holy places,” the Saudi King, you must recognize that he does so because he believes that love for America is bigotry and if there’s one thing a Leftist is not (in his own mind) it’s a bigot.  (more…)

Hating What’s Right: How the Modern Liberal Winds Up on the Wrong Side of Every Issue

by Evan Sayet

It was almost exactly two years ago that I walked into the Heritage Foundation in Washington to deliver a speech about how the Modern Liberal “thinks” and why he invariably and inevitably sides with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success.

Having had very little experience with the Internet, I had no idea that the talk would go much further than that half-empty room of eggheads.  Instead, it soon went viral and became the talk of the conservative community.  To date, the speech, which I called, “Regurgitating the Apple: How The Modern Liberal ‘Thinks’” has been viewed by almost a half-million people on YouTube alone.  As far as YouTube hits go, that’s perhaps not the biggest number, but remember, I wasn’t wearing a bikini and singing about my love for Obama. This was a forty-seven minute, rather wonkish talk, by a previously unknown (at least in Washington and political circles) television writer with a bad haircut. Bruce Springsteen: One-Hundred Percent Republican

by Evan Sayet

The “culture war” that we hear so much about is, to borrow Thomas Sowell’s phrase, a “conflict of visions.”  Visions, Sowell explains, go deeper than mere policy – in fact they are the font of where we stand on the issues – and they are founded on some of the most basic and fundamental beliefs the individual holds about the nature of man and, in turn, the role and purpose of government, family, religion and all other influential forces that society has evolved. Sowell called the conflicting visions the “Constrained” and the “Unconstrained” and offered Jean Jacques Rousseau and Adam Smith as primary examples of the visions in conflict.  More contemporary examples are John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen, the former holding the “unconstrained” vision (which I call here the Neo-Liberal view), the latter the “constrained,” or, in my term, Conservative take.  Just to be clear, yes, I’m saying that, while Springsteen the multimillionaire, rock star with the mansion in Beverly Hills may be a Liberal, Bruce Springsteen the poet is one-hundred percent Republican.

Sowell recognizes that, at its most basic level, this conflict of visions revolves around what one believes to be man’s innate nature.  Is it, as the Neo-Liberal believes, that man is born good and then corrupted by the institutions of society or, do the Conservatives have it right and man is born with a dual and conflicting nature — capable of good and evil and everything in between — requiring cultural forces to help him tamp down the darker side and cultivate the good within?

Lennon’s iconic anthem “Imagine” could not be a better representation of the Neo-Liberal vision.  Since the Neo-Liberal believe that man is born good, the way to create a good society – in fact, a utopia – is to remove all forces that hinder him from doing what he wants to do, when he wants to do it.  A heaven on earth is to be found merely by following the early Neo-Liberal mantra, “If it feels good, do it,” for, being innately good, ones feelings – and not moral codes or civic responsibilities, loyalties to others or such pedestrian concerns as the need to make a living – will see the Neo-Liberal do what is good.
